Gym needs a serious revamp. Crunch is a quarter of the price and offers so much more. I bought a month pass which was $75 and did not see the value. Just needed a place to workout until crunch opened back up. I do want a membership there but I refuse to pay that much for mostly broken equipment, moldy spaces, and closed down amenities. I like the squash courts and basketball courts, I think that brings value because not everyone want to lift weights all the time, but it’s not worth it. I’ll keep an eye out to see if they make any improvements in the future but for now, I’ll stick to crunch and Onelife

On October 7th, a notice saying that Zumba classes at LA FITNESS LEESBURG had been canceled was posted at the entrance, but there was no notice on the website, so about 10 members turned away after finding out about the cancellation when they got there. If they had just posted the cancellation notice on the website, those 10 members who love Zumba would not have gone to class in vain. It's a shame that they didn't consider their members.

Crunch is 20 less for their most expensive membership. Half of the machines at LA are out of order, and were not fixed from April when i joined until august when i left. I don’t care about a pool, but that was closed and out of order the entire time i was a member as well. This gym has real potential, but needs a serious wake up call. Seems like ownership does not care whatsoever.

Pathetic, unprofessional and terribly managed. I joined LA fitness Leesburg VA in October, 2024. I also signed up for personal training. Had to sign a six month contract. Even today, 10 sessions are pending. I have paid for all. The club does not give a damn. One trainer assigned to me couldn't stretch at all. I was better at stretching than him. 3 managers left. Pool facility is all permanently closed. In Feb 2025 , their supposed Regional manager reached out thru phone in response to my agitatation. He made tall claims of professionalism and better service. But to no avail. Absolute waste of money!!!

I just signed up with LA Fitness today at the Ashburn location. The staff were extremely helpful in walking me through the membership options and helping me pick the one that was most suitable for me. They were professional, friendly, and made the entire signup process quick and seamless.

After signing up, I went home and later checked out the Leesburg location. Again, the staff there were very helpful and welcoming. I went back home to change my outfit and then returned to the Leesburg location to get a workout in after a long time. I really enjoyed my visit. The gym wasn’t crowded at all, there were plenty of machines available, and I got a great session done.

I spent time playing basketball, did some elliptical and cardio workouts using their advanced machines, and overall had a great experience. I honestly don’t know why I used to pay extra at Lifetime Fitness when LA Fitness offers such clean, neat, and well-maintained facilities. Of course, this was on a Sunday evening, so it wasn’t too crowded, but I will continue to observe and provide more feedback as I spend more time at both locations.

So far, everything has been excellent. Both the Ashburn and Leesburg staff were friendly, resourceful, and ensured I was familiar with the facilities. Thank you to both teams for making my first day a very positive experience.

This place has everything you need to do a basic workout. Equipment is dated though. Everything looks like it's from the early 2000s. The cable attachments could be upgraded. There's nothing from this decade.

We are all resuming our exercise routines, and today, when my husband and I walked into LA Fitness, we met a young man named Ralph who was very patient and enthusiastic, and he explained the gym's facilities and membership information in detail. Signed up about two years ago when they had the pool up and running then they had to close it - they told me was due to county ordinance on lifeguards. then went to herndon lifetime for several month but that gym is not clean. then kept calling when they were gonna open up the pool but they are unsure. I called to cancel membership and they told me I had to come in person. so i tried to today to cancel membership (today - Sat) and now they told me i can only on weekdays. come on MAN !!! they can take new memberships but won't take let me fill out a form to cancel. what a joke, can't wait to cancel.

No proper pull up bar and no proper dip bars. You can’t get a proper workout if you do weighted calisthenics. The grips on the bicycle-style pull up grips slowly slip so you can’t maintain an overhand grip. Both dip apparatuses are too narrow causing chest pain and inability to max out. None of this matters if you don’t do calisthenics then it would be a great gym for you.

The thing about cardio is you sweat in a small, concentrated area. This aspect makes sanitation crucial.

However, there are multiple instances where there are no wipes at any of the stations upstairs. Membership folks on their phones, front desk folks watching tv on their phones/laptop.

It’s unfortunate because the gym has a lot of good equipment, the locker room is sizable—just the threat of disease looms large.

Patrons once had the common decency to wipe machines after use.
This location doesn’t carry sanitation wipes anymore. I understand, restocking is difficult with increasing demand.. but as soon as I touched the bars on the elliptical I needed some purell. Nevertheless, I persisted, finished my routine then turned to grab a wipe - then the inspiration to change my 5 star review struck me.

Been a member for a couple years. This club is on a major decline. As a previous personal trainer, I can tell you that the equipment is in poor and some of it in dangerous condition. Half of the cardio machines are inoperable. The sauna works maybe half the time. 2/5 of the stalls in the women's locker room are inoperable because the doors won't lock. I've notified staff of various issues, including a few direct safety concerns and there's a total lack of responsiveness. Emailed corporate without any response. There's two decently friendly people who regularly work the front desk but other than that, you are definitely not getting a good value for the cost of membership at this club.

I had a terrible experience at LA Fitness with the front desk staff. I came in with a free guest pass, excited to check out the gym, but the lady at the front desk was rude and dismissive. I used to go to this gym because I had to. Now I love going to the gym, and most importantly because I want to. The new gym manager (Rolling) is a great people’s person. I’ve noticed that he tries to greet every member that walks through the door. I have spoken to him couple of times about issues at the gym, sure enough the issues were fixed Shirley after. Sometimes is out of his hand, but he always tries.

La Fitness is conveniently located close to my home, which is a major plus for my fitness routine. The club itself has a good range of equipment and offers a nice overall atmosphere for working out. However, I have to mention a recurring issue: the stairmasters. They have five of them, but it seems like 2-3 are always out of order. This is really frustrating, especially when the gym is busy and you have to wait for the few machines that are actually working.

Despite this, I still like the club overall. If they could just maintain the equipment a bit better, it would make the experience much more enjoyable.

Surprisingly there are no cameras around the club which is disturbing nor it was notified to the clients to be vigilant. I go alone sometimes late and now I am worried for my safety. Was a steady LA Fitness member for a handful of years until I started traveling for work in 2021. Recently came back for a couple months to visit family and needed a short term membership. Riley helped me out with the gym membership and Matt helped me with a personal training package. Everything we talked about regarding the membership and the personal training package was honored, and I didn't have any problems terminating my membership.

I worked with Paolo for personal training. He was really friendly and easy to work with. I think I forgot training a couple times in the beginning, but once I got in the groove of it, it wasn't too bad. He's encouraging and can be really lenient. But I think he figured out towards the end that I need a tough trainer, so he pushed me a lot more. LOL.

I'm not sure what time in the morning they have busy hours, but I've noticed they get quite busy after 4PM. Some equipment can use some updates/upgrades, but they do the job. It's also fairly clean; I would just always wipe down the equipment before and after use in case some people don't! Had a pretty solid experience.

I moved away so I had to cancel my membership, they said I could come in and fill out the form because I couldn’t cancel over the phone, so I went in and signed it. Turns out they’ve been illegally billing me for last 10 months after I cancelled… and when I called corporate they said they never got a cancellation, which means somehow the ineptitude of the staff shafted me out of over $300. They only reimbursed me for 1 month, even after confirming I haven’t been to the gym in 10 months. Absolutely disgusting how multi million dollars gyms like these treat their members, and their veterans that fight for their right to even have a company.

The place is filthy and nothing gets put back where it belongs. It’s not properly taken care of. There are a couple set of dumbbells in the functional room missing its pair. I kneeled down for cable crunches and had BLACK dirt caked onto my knees. I had to use a cleansing wipe to scrub it off. The equipment itself is falling apart and beginning to rust. Some of the handles on the machines are ripped leaving the rubber just barely hanging on.
I’m very disappointed in this gym.

Facility is very dirty on weekends. Gym etiquette is generally poor- too many young adults texting between sets; taking plates off when done is exception rather than the rule. Also, not enough of popular weight of dumbbells- 20/25 lbs. kinda warm in there too - too warm.

It has a variety of machines. Staff is okay, sometimes they want to overcharge you when you bring a guest. The machines aren't we'll maintained. Many are ripped and out of service and it takes forever long to get repaired. They have 2 people that clean the whole gym and it's never enough. Poor ladies don't get compensated. I’ve been a member at this location for 10 years. I used an abdominal crunch machine on the second floor frequently. The last time I used it, the seat slipped all the way to the floor. Both my arms got caught in the upper part of the machine. I notified the front desk staff immediately. He did not ask how I was doing or follow proper protocol and offer to complete an incident form. Almost a month has passed and my one arm is still messed up. I sent multiple emails to LA Fitness and did not receive a reply. So I’m writing this review to air my grievance and warn others: some machines are poorly maintained and the staff has little customer service experience.

I have been a member for quite some time, my family of 7 all come here. Many of the machines are “scheduled for service” and you would expect it to be fixed within a week or so, but for some reason they take a month or more to fix. The same case for the hot tub in the pool area, which was one of the main reasons why I chose to purchase a membership here. The hot tub has been “temporarily scheduled for maintenance” for over a month and a half now and I have not seen any workers coming in to work on it.

The bathrooms are only clean in the morning, forget about coming anytime after 4pm, they stop cleaning it all together.

This facility just looks run down compared to many other gym clubs. Waiting for them to improve but that may take months or even years… I would highly suggest considering other clubs in the area that keep up to a basic standard of cleanliness and maintenance.

UPDATE: 7/3/2023
This facility is closing down the pool and hot tub permanently effective September 1, 2023 due to operational costs. ..they have however increased the monthly membership costs and yet they are still closing it down

I don’t usually offer reviews but I am compelled to write a scathing review about this dump.

First, if you want an area to stretch, likely there will be a class that will rudely kick you out of the ONE AREA that you can adequately stretch, or you’ll have to deal with the most unorganized area to stretch. Every piece of equipment is everywhere and it’s irritating.

There are no good times to go ti the gym, they have no limit on people and it’s waiting for the right piece of equipment every time I come in here. Not to mention half the equipment is broken and the other half is being accessed for 45 mins.

There are so many things wrong with this place and I find it ridiculous I bought a membership here

Front desk is always friendly and helpful, I found my personal trainer there who I’m still using 5 yrs later. (But he’s no longer affiliated w LA Fitness)
I’ve been a member for a long time bc of their pool as well as the abundance of workout equipment. Classes are good. The locker room could use an upgrade but it’s a gym. I don’t to there to have a spa experience. Equipment is clean, pool needs a re-surfacing but it’s well maintained.

It's very disappointing. When I registered I WAS NOT TOLD about the annual maintenance fees. I appreciate that the GM waived off initiation fees and told me that I would only pay $39.99 per month and that would be the only cost for becoming a member. After 2 weeks of joining I noticed there was $49.99 charged to my credit Card. It's not much for a year but basically when I was lured into becoming a member (by offering $39.99) and not mentioning the annual maintenance fees, would have resulted in me not joining the LA FITNESS GYM. When I bring this up to the GM rather than apologizing they respond -"it's the annual fees and every member pays it". POOR Customer and staff Response. NO RESPONSIBILITY Of accepting or apologizing the mistake of not telling about the annual maintenance fees. 😡☹️

The gym is good size and they have a decent equipment for the most part but they lack good gym hygiene culture. They leave cleaning spray bottles in the very front which no one grabs and practically no one wipes down equipment. They need to install cleaning stations around the gym so it would promote wiping down the equipment. Almost every machine/treadmill has sweat all over it from multiple users not wiping it down. If you carry a spray bottle, you will be the only one.

Nice place to work out. There is always cardio equipment available. 3 racket ball courts. Good mix of free weights and machines. Clean and well maintained. My only complaint is there are a few members who feel they own a machine once they sit on it. They put their back pack on one side and their phone and drink on the other. They do a set and then check there phone for a while sitting on the machine. They may do this for 4 or 5 sets before they move. Most commonly occurs on the Lat Pull downs. Other than that it is a great place.
