Came to this gym after a move where my daughter had done power tumbling/team gym for 2 years. Due to schedule constraints, she was enrolled in the Level 1 class since she had not touched beam and bar for years.

After starting my daughter became bored in the class because she had many of the skills but could not do a pullover. I was told she could advance and after I scheduled her for level 2 classes, was notified that she could not due to her not being able to do the pullover.

Over the last 2 months, my daughter has begun to loose her passion for the sport because she cannot move on and is losing skills that she had. While I understand the gaining all skills prior to moving up, this skill is not a major focus in the class with about 5-10 minutes (if any) of class dedicated to it per week. Often now, I watch my child have numerous long silly conversations with the coaches during class vs additional opportunities/challenges they mentioned doing for her to improve and gain this skill.

Terrible Customer Service & Unfair Charges

I had a very frustrating experience with MEGA-DC. I took my daughter for a trial class on May 14, 2024, and after the session, I informed the front desk that I would wait until she turned four before enrolling her. Months later, I was shocked to find an outstanding balance, even though my daughter was never enrolled in any class.

I emailed and called multiple times to explain the situation, but no one helped or even tried to understand what happened. After much back and forth, they finally told me they had stopped the registration and erased the balance. However, in December 2024, when I tried to register my daughter again, they refused unless I paid the supposed balance.

I never received any invoice, notification, or communication about this charge. How can they charge me for a class my child never attended? Their lack of response and accountability is completely unacceptable. Even after calling again three weeks ago, they promised a callback within 1-3 days, but no one ever reached out. When I called again today, they still insisted I had to pay before registering my daughter.

This is unethical and unprofessional. They are trying to collect money for a service that was never provided, and their customer service is horrible. I strongly do not recommend this place to any parent. Be careful before signing up, as they might charge you without your knowledge and refuse to help when you question it.

Do not recommend. We felt the organization did not value athletes health when my daughter struggled with health issues due to a gymnastics practice induced concussion. Strongly suggested us to continue to pay outrageous tuition fees while our child needed to rest instead of be at 3.5 hour practices several times a week. Seemed to value money over doing what is right. Highly disappointing.

I have been going to MEGA for 5 years and have always loved the program. I've done rec and team. Both helped me progress a lot but without the stress of a high pressure environment. Overall they've always been very welcoming.

Mega DC is great! The atmosphere is always friendly and welcoming. You can feel the sense of community, with parents, gymnasts, and staff all working together to create a great experience for everyone. The class options are great, ranging from recreational classes to advanced team training. If you're looking for a gymnastics center where athletes of all levels can thrive, Mega DC is the place to be. The balance between learning, safety, and enjoyment is perfect. Highly recommended!

MEGA-DC is a great gym! The staff is so nice and there are a range of levels and events. The Rec program offers themed Holiday parties which the kids love, and the staff is very welcoming. I am so happy I found this gym!!

Doesn’t support the military. Provided orders to stop payment due after an injury then moving via military PCS and was told “should an injury occur, billing does continue and an inhouse credit is applied to your account for the missed time. We are sad to hear you are moving at the conclusion of the fall session, but should you ever return to the DC area, as many military families often do, you will have a credit on your account!”

The phone and each time was told no manager was on site and doesn’t know when would be there. If I would have known this organization is ran without management personnel in the building, I would have never enrolled my child here. This place has really blown my mind with how they conduct their business.
Refuse to refund me the two months my child is out with a doctors
Note because “I will someone maybe come here”. Absolutely not.

Unorganized, unprofessional, value money over development of children's skills.

I would highly NOT recommend this facility. My daughter has been taking rec gym classes for multiple months and the classes are a completely different experience from her previous gym in which she learned actual skills. The teacher does not demonstrate skills and I have not witnessed any skills actually being taught. I would compare the class to The Little Gym with free for all stations. When I expressed my daughters boredom with class and wants to see if she could be evaluated to move up, the gym advised it is their policy to hold all members to the same class for the entire academic school year (how does that inspire a kid who wants to grow and may be at a higher level than other classmates?) I decided I wanted to withdraw my daughter and got an email from the gym (3/26) advising that they would allow me to do prior to the upcoming season (that's another thing- they lock you down for a whole season.) When I confirmed, I got an email from someone else telling me the deadline had passed (3/15) and seeming to have no clue about the extension given by another staff member. I ended up having to block all payments and tell them we are not coming back.

This place is becoming very dirty. It smells like dog's wet hair. I never saw them cleaning the place, to include the waiting area. People are coming and bringing in food that smells good or bad for hours. Some limitations should take place in terms of food on what you can eat, how loud can you get. Very disappointed.

Since leaving MEGA, we have met many other MEGA refugees. This was an expensive and disappointing experience. You pay everything up front (JO/Excel) and they will not refund your money when they fail to provide coaches and cancel weeks of classes in the middle of meet season. I have little tolerance for organizations this disorganized that feel entitled to payment after failing to deliver the service. I highly recommend exploring other options.

Signed my daughter up here for her first experience with gymnastics and we are quite pleased so far. The prices are fantastic, and my daughter is improving consistently. The staff is friendly, and are responsive to emails. We are so happy we chose this location for our child.
