Danielle and Craig operate one heck of a gym! They are a model CrossFit affiliate, embracing not only the community and care that shapes the fabric of their gym, but take to heart the essence of the CrossFit methodology, assuring athletes and clients are safe, inspired, and always learning. Both Craig and Danielle are CrossFit Level 3 Trainers - pretty impressive in its own right! - and their passion for self- and professional development shines through in their expectations of their facility and their members. They are truly helping to lead in the business of transformation - changing lives through fitness. I love coming to this gym - one of CrossFitβs heart and souls in the DMV area, pushing forward health, happiness, and performance for all!

Superb box with top coaches and friendly members. Owners Craig and Danielle are the best coaches ever! They are full of positive energy and pay attention to detail with safety and well being of the members always as their first priority. They continually have new approaches and bring in outside experts on different topics of interest to the broad spectrum of members. I first attended because I was injured twice while weight training by myself. Their coaching for every type of training has been healthy for me.

I love this place! All the coaches do a great job of focusing on proper warmup and technique. As a physical therapist this is very important to me to prevent injuries. They breakdown the exercises and modify them if needed, but they still motivate and push you until you do things you never thought you could. You get a lot of personal attention from the coaches but also a fun community of people to work out with. Highly recommend!!

I visit this gym several time a year when I am visiting the Alexandria area. The coaches are terrific and very helpful with workout and movement tips and coaching. The owners have created a really nice community spirit with members very supportive of each other.

I have been working out at Mount Vernon for over a year now, and the staff is incredibly welcoming and supportive. The staff is well equipped the scale workouts up or down according to ability, and I received really useful tactical cues to improve my technique. I would recommend anybody of any fitness level to drop by for a class, as everyone from the new gym goer to a high level athlete will have a great experience. The programming is well planned and provides the right balance of variety while also enough repetition to measure growth and highlight progress. If you are in the DC Metro area, I highly recommend Mount Vernon Fitness if you are looking for a great place to workout!

This is a one of a kind CrossFit / Fitness gym. They really focus of good technique. It's not like other gym where coaches just motivate you too keep moving. Each class is like your own personal training class.

THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE NOT WORKED OUT SINCE HIGH SCHOOL && HAVE NEVER BEEN TO A CROSSFIT GYM :) -- My intro was to grab the attention of people who are just like me. Honestly, my friend begged me to try crossfit for a month with her && its the best decision I've made in a long time! We've been attending classes consistently for roughly about 3 months and I am beyond satisfied with how much I've learned thus far. All of the coaches are seriously devoted to making sure you maximize your full potential. Its strange because although you're in a group setting everyday, the amount of feedback you receive makes you feel like you've hired a personal trainer. To date, I have lost 11 pounds (with a better diet of course), I can actually lift weights in a manner thats worthy of social media posting, I FINALLY DID A DOUBLE UNDER, and I am almost afraid to say this...but... its kind of fun! So if you're thinking about joining, do it! Also, the members are realllllyyyyy friendly! So whether you come with a friend or you decide to make this fitness journey on your own, you'll definitely feel right at home!

I cannot praise this facility enough! MVCF exceeded all of my expectations from the moment I sent the owner an email asking if I could drop in shortly after moving to the area. I have had great experiences with all of the staff and coaches as they really take the time to go over movements while ensure all athletes are understanding the movement process. Danielle and Craig are so kind and eager to help all walks of life meet their fitness goals. I highly recommend this gym to all those looking for a great workout and amazing comradery.

One of the best Crossfit boxes I've been to in my eleven years of doing Crossfit. The coaches are excellent and spend time with all the students and work with you to find scalable options that meet your fitness levels. Danielle is an excellent owner and takes time to talk with all the member inside and outside of classtime and is invested in your fitness goals. An excellent box and I highly recomend it to new and old crossfiters alike.

Wow what an amazing community!!! This gym gives you such an awesome feeling every time you walk in the door. The facility is clean and well kept but still has that old school CrossFit box feeling. Mount Vernon CrossFit is also one of a few gyms in the area that has concept 2 bike ergs! The owners truly care about their athletes and providing them the best programming and environment for them to grow and improve:) I would highly recommend this gym to any friend!

This is one of CF best gyms! I have been a member for about a year now, I have had amazing improvement in both my physical and mental well-being. The owners and coaches really take the time to help each person in class and to modify the workouts so everyone is challenged. The programming is also specifically formatted for the MVCF community and we have all seen amazing results! Danielle and Craig have made so many great improvements to the gym, including adding new class times, a kids and yoga class, new equipment and many more fun events. MVCF gym is top-notch in the area and I am proud to be a member. See yβall at the box!

First and foremost Mount Vernon Crossfit's community and coaches are second to none. Many of the people I have met here, have become very good friends of mine outside of the gym. Every time I walk into MVCF, I know I am stepping into a positive and supportive environment, and I will be leaving feeling good (and tired).
The other half of these good feelings are due to the new ownership of Danielle and Craig. As a person who is skeptical of change, I was quickly won over by Danielle and Craig's ideas for the gym. In the middle of some workouts I might be cursing their names, but you can look around the gym and continually see the great results of their ideas through the other members.

This is truly a gym for every BODY! I have never lifted weights before or done much strength training. Challenged by a long-time member, I tried a class and immediately signed up! The coaches encourage you to work out at your own ability and celebrate all of your personal bests. They challenge and encourage you and I never thought a gym would feel like family. My only negative is that I waited so long to join. I can see remarkable results in my strength and confidence. I look forward to the daily workouts and love the environment. The owners truly believe in what they do and put everything they have into making MVCF a welcoming and inspiring place. It's not your typical gym and that's what makes it so great.

It's hard to find the words that adequately capture how much I love this place. From the warm and welcoming atmosphere to the incredibly skilled coaches who expertly meet each member where they are, celebrating their successes and pushing them safely to the next level, I can't imagine finding a fitness experience that would top Mount Vernon Crossfit. I HIGHLY recommend!!!

Have been coming to MVCF for over a year now - hands down, the best CF gym in the area. Coaches are friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to show you how to do complex movements correctly and safely. I love the motivation and support they give when we are doing our class WODs.. The camaraderie of the gym is unmatched.. I am so happy that I found this place, cannot see myself anywhere else..

Been coming to this box for several months and love it! Great focus on SAFE exercise by skilled coaches with a balance between strength and cardiovascular conditioning. Strong community and definitely not the CrossFit stereotype with a wide range of skill and fitness levels across members. My daughter recently joined and loves it too. Iβll be sad to PCS away from this place.

Love MVCF!!!
Highly trained, knowledgeable and engaged coaches. The kind of gym where a somewhat older (51) guy can scale, work form and mobility....(thanks to the great coaching)...and still fit right in!
Thoughtful pre and post wod warm up and mobility work as well as nutrition coaching.
The only negative is that I now have zero excuses!

I first went to MVCF under the old management and didn't feel comfortable or welcomed. I tried again 2 years later under the new management and it has been a drastically different experience. The coaches are extremely supportive and they work with me to scale to a manageable level. I look forward to going and am constantly challenged. I'd highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to make a lifestyle change.

Love this box! I joined with no prior CrossFit experience and felt an immediate welcome into the community. Coaches gave me a great foundation before attempting any advanced movement, laying some awesome groundwork for a future of lifting and overall fitness. I was also fresh out of ACL surgery and every coach I worked with helped scale or make accommodations to the workout, ensuring I was healthily and safely rehabilitating my injury. I've had to step away from consistent visits due to a hectic schedule, but owners continue to keep me in their best interest and treat me as a close member of the community. Can't wait to get back to it!!!!

Came to class, they were doing drilling/ construction during class with NO warning. When I said it was hurting my ears the coach said "well, they're going to keep working" and then I think she said I could go run outside if I wanted (hard to hear due to the drilling!!) I left, and when I complained to the owner she snapped, "drills don't require hearing protection" and "I'm not going to argue with you about this." If you're invested your health (hearing& muscles included) this place is not for you.
