Like the gym overall but recently they’ve lowered the temp of the sauna, one of my favorite parts, to cut costs and it’s awful now. Takes 4x the time to feel the same effects :(

Been a member since 2023 and renewed again for 2025/26 a few months ago. This place has improved quite a bit, a lot cleaner with the addition of newer machines. Staff is friendlier and is usually helpful when approached. Hopefully they continue to follow this path in the future.

Worth checking out if you haven't seen it recently. Completely renovated over the past year: greatly expanded weight room area on the east side, new flooring & turf section, and relaxation area downstairs. Hours can be somewhat inconvenient on weekends & parking fills up during peak hours, but the space and service are worth it.

This was previously a 24hour Fitness which was run like a prison with a tyrant for the warden, but now as Onelife Fitness this location has a vibrant atmosphere that finally feels like a modern fitness center. I've gladly renewed my membership and staff member Jordan was knowledgeable and considerate to help make the renewal process a breeze. Great new additions to the facility along with super active staff. All the newer renovations were quick and took place quickly and quietly. The equipment has been updated and well maintained. I joined Onelife Falls Church in May just before the renovation began. Throughout the renovation, it was loud but the staff was friendly and kept the clients upbeat. Rene at the front desk is always welcoming with a smile. Nicole has been my trainer since May and she is excellent. She understands my needs & struggles and has helped me increase my lean muscle mass, which has been my goal. Now that the renovation is complete, I love it. We even have new hydro massage beds and red light therapy!

As a member of One Life Fitness for some time now, I decided to see their newly purchased Falls Church location. It was under renovation a few months ago, so I stopped in again the other day and had questions after checking in. The GM (Kevin?) was checking people in and stepped aside to answer my questions. He was extremely nice and very knowledgeable. I was shocked at the expansion, renovations, and brand-new equipment. It's a really nice gym! I will definitely be a regular here.

My trainer, Brenden, is outstanding, he genuinely cares about my progress and brings great energy to every session. Rene greets me with a smile every time I walk in, setting a positive tone right from the start. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and management clearly takes pride in maintaining a high standard of service. I just toured the newly renovated One Life Fitness and was really impressed! Vagner gave us the tour and was incredibly helpful, friendly, and informative. He walked us through all the upgrades and explained what’s still in progress: this location just reopened about 2 months ago after a total renovation. Concerns Regarding Your Falls Church Location
I'm writing to express my significant concerns about the current state of your Falls Church OneLife gym location.
As a four-year member, I was initially delighted when this location opened closer to my home. However, over the past three months, my experience has deteriorated considerably, leading me to seriously consider other options despite being a long-standing member.
Deteriorating Service and Equipment Issues
The recent reviews I've seen perfectly echo my own experiences. From the front desk customer service to issues with the equipment, it feels as though your team is completely disconnected from the customer experience. I've encountered faulty equipment lacking proper labeling or warnings, and a multitude of machines that constantly require a "reset" with the promise that someone will "look into it"—a promise that has yet to be fulfilled.
While I understand the importance of equipment maintenance and temperature control, experiencing an 84 degree Fahrenheit temperature on a 101°F day is unacceptable. This feels like either a severe lapse in planning or outright negligence.
Lack of Staff Engagement
My attempts to communicate with your staff have been met with very simplistic answers and a general sense of being disregarded, sometimes even in front of other patrons. This significantly detracts from the experience I expect when paying for a membership, not to mention an almost doubling of the monthly membership cost. It would be greatly appreciated to simply be greeted upon entering, rather than being met with blank stares while several employees stand in a circle talking, seemingly oblivious to my presence.
Management Transition and Its Impact
I understand that the location is undergoing a management transition. However, the decline in service and overall atmosphere over the past three months is stark. What began as a positive experience with everything working properly has, in my perception, transformed into an environment where there's a clear lack of care from management and leadership.
I sincerely hope that these concerns are swiftly addressed with your staff at the new Falls Church location. As I am currently on a month-to-month membership, I am actively considering other fitness options.
In conclusion, I do hope to spare the time of continuing to post on other platforms, such as Google, yelp, Facebook, and he continued effort to communicate the dissatisfaction of service. I continue to receive at this one life, false church location.
Thank you, regards
One life member

The worst gym experience I’ve ever had — avoid at all costs.
This location used to be 24 Hour Fitness, and while it wasn’t perfect, it was reliable. Once Onelife Fitness took over, everything went downhill — fast.
Prices went up, but the quality of service and access tanked. The new hours are a joke. This used to be a gym where you could work out early or late. Now? It doesn't even open until 8:00 AM on a routine basis. Members are left waiting in line outside in the morning while staff slowly and reluctantly unlock the doors, sometimes not until 8:01 or later. Want to work out in the evening? Forget it. They start shutting things down early, leaving no real opportunity for a post-work workout, swim, or sauna session. It's like they want you to pay more to use the gym less.
And about that promised “investment” to improve the club? Laughable. The most obvious “upgrade” was removing a perfectly good set of octagonal dumbbells — which stayed safely in place on the uneven floor — and replacing them with round dumbbells that roll all over the place. It’s a tripping hazard. I've literally watched people wander the floor looking for the right weights like they're on a scavenger hunt. Who thought this was a good idea?
The bathrooms and showers? Disgusting. Dirty, smelly, and clearly not maintained to any reasonable standard. I’ve seen gas station restrooms in better shape.
I'm absolutely not renewing my membership. In fact, I may join a different gym and eat the financial loss — this place is that bad. Do yourself a favor and stay away. You’ll pay more for less access, worse equipment, bad hygiene, and a total lack of customer consideration.
This is, without a doubt, the worst review I’ve ever written, and the worst experience I’ve ever had with a gym.

I really regret signing up for Onelife Fitness - Falls Church. When I first toured there, the staff said that the exercise equipment had been replaced with new ones, but in reality, only 10 treadmills were replaced, and one of them broke down and had been moved, but there was no “Out Of Order” sign, which many members found inconvenient. Before signing up, there was no mention of a membership fee, but when I actually signed up, they told me that there was a $69 membership fee. And they said that I had to pay an additional $9.99 to get towel service. That wasn’t the end of it. Even if you go to the pool early in the morning, there are a lot of floating objects like phlegm and hair in the water. Most of the users didn’t shower before entering, and I didn’t see many people wearing swim caps. You are supposed to lock your locker with your own key, but someone changed the lock, so I had to wait in my swimsuit for over 30 minutes to solve the problem. Never leave your cards or valuables in the lockers here. The last thing the staff said was, “Just happen.”

When this place was run by 24 hour, it had better hours, it was cheaper, better policies regarding guests and they actually had a working steam room. They have promised more amenities for months but have not yet to add anything, only take away the steam room which worked perfectly under 24 hour. The sauna is filthy and will make you gag, it's a unisex sauna so it gets packed.

I was a member of 24hrs a few years ago, I joined because this gym has swimming pools, sauna, steam room, and hot tub, sounds super great for the price paid.
However, you get what you paid for.
All the sauna, steam room and hot tub were crowded with sweaty half naked men most of the time. I didn’t feel comfortable or relaxing while using any of those, after a few attempts.
So, I joined another gym, located further and more expensive, but well worth it. There are more class schedules with variety of great fitness instructors.
I am thinking to give another try for my add on quick drive to a pool and etc, but I won’t, after reading the recent reviews mentioned about the lacking of proper temperature set and maintenances of the pool.

Absolutely the worst customer service. We loved 24 hour fitness until OneLife Fitness took over. They are the same people who ran sports and health. Poor management and horrible attitudes topped with the worst customer service. My membership with 24 hour fitness allowed me to take my minor daughter to the club with me. When the new management took over, that was no longer honored. They told me to buy a membership for my daughter. I asked for a prorated refund. I was told to send an email to the customer service with my request. I did. No response. I am holding the bag. OneLife Fitness is in the hands of the same unprofessional anti customer people who ran sports and health. Is it worth it to go after them legally? Nah! Just let them keep the balance of my membership and never ever deal with them again.

Good experience while it was 24 hour fitness. When Onelife bought them out, they changed the hours, buddy passes, and membership fees. Hate how they’re buying every other gym to monopolize the entire area. Then for someone who plays basketball here because they have an actual court that was used daily, these changes caused everyone to stop coming.
Already paying $20 a month for a buddy pass so they’re still getting money but now they want each individual to get a membership so they can squeeze the joy out of working out. This is what’s wrong with companies like this, also to play at a different location that has a court, I need to pay more and upgrade my membership. At least offer the more than just new equipment. Nothing else is benefiting current member who have been coming.

Since the 24-hour access was the main reason we signed up, we chose the most expensive annual membership so that my friend and I could work out together using the Buddy Pass. Don’t get a membership here. Used to be 24 hour fitness, now they’re closed for a lot of the day. When they’re open, it’s so busy, it’s practically unusable. The equipment is all taken, there’s only 1 restroom in the weightlifting section and it’s locked 95% of the time cause somebody’s in there. 1 urinal and 1 toilet for the whole place. Just a bad establishment overall. I don’t even write reviews for anything but this place sucks so much, I had to. I used to workout every day and be excited for it, but I dread going to this gym. Messed my whole workout rhythm up.

Currently, the gym I visited is known as One Life. I inadvertently arrived here because Strike Lab, the gym I truly wanted to visit, was unexpectedly located within this establishment, although they are separate entities. Unfortunately, Strike Lab was closed, prompting me to explore the offerings of One Life and potentially consider switching my membership.
One of the receptionists guided me on a tour and provided valuable assistance.
Afterward, I settled in the lobby to continue waiting. When I requested to use the restroom, a manager, a Black gentleman, requested that I leave my ID with the front desk. Initially, I mistook his request for a misunderstanding, but upon clarification, he reiterated that he needed my ID to access the restroom. I complied.
Upon returning, I expressed my frustration to the manager about having to present identification to use the restroom. He stated that “he gave me the benefit of the doubt” by granting me access to the restroom. Why were there any doubts in the first place? All I did was wait in the lobby.
Furthermore, he clarified that the gym is privately owned and not obligated to accommodate restroom needs of non-members. This statement left me perplexed, as I had never encountered such a policy in any establishment. I questioned the rationale behind this policy, expressing my difficulty in comprehending why a prospective customer would be denied access to a basic amenity simply because they are not a member. He again doubled down on his statement. What a hostile environment.
I also noticed that the manager would occasionally glance at me suspiciously while I was waiting in the lobby, as if I were planning to steal something from the gym’s facilities. As a member of Lifetime Athletic, I intend to maintain my membership with that organization. They offer a welcoming, inclusive, and judgment-free environment, and their facilities are of the highest caliber.

Walked in and it smelled like urine. The Client-facing-Staff was stand off-ish, and overall terrible rude behavior with no intention for client assistance at all.
This is not an over-exaggeration. It is as if the staff was trained to be gatekeepers and not welcome potential new guests/members. The gatekeepers endless confusing rebuttals went against the instructions that were on via 24Hr Fitness’s own website. They even told me the automatic messages that were sent to my phone don’t mean anything, and that they can’t do anything with the website confirmation page. (Then why does 24 Hr Fitness have these marketing campaigns up?)
Then the stand-off staff created a photocopy of my ID and just left it in the printer out in the open (did not place in safe drawer) without me even being a welcomed guest yet lol. I asked what the purpose was and they say “security purposes”. Now im getting rude vibes from the staff, and confused because i am just following the directions of the website guest pass!
Since i was not a welcomed guest, i kindly asked for the photocopy of my ID, that was laying out in the open, and left.
I went to 24 Hr Fitness Fairfax, and it was 180 degree experience. They accepted me with open arms, offered to give me a tour. Took down my information online, instead of taking a photocopy of my ID, and held my physical ID in a safe drawer with other guest IDs. The whole process was simple, safe, and was what i expected from Falls Church, but did not get.
If the client-facing-staff had started off with “we dont accept the website pass at our location” then that wouldve been understandable, but the fact that they kept giving me rebuttals that were inconsistent in their argument (i.e., having to wait for a phonecall first or showing the original confirmation email) goes against what is said on their own website and trying to make me feel like im the dumb one… staff needs re-training.
I like the machines they have at Fairfax location but due to the unacceptable staff experience and smell at Falls Church, I wont be joining the yearly membership.
TLDR; 24Hour Fitness FallsChurch stand-off staff with no client assistance + urine smell, but Fairfax Location is 180 degrees difference in staff, smell, & upkeep of equipment.

For over two weeks, the inside temperature has been over 80 degrees. These are taken on different days, at 1:30pm, 6:30pm, 1:30am, and 4am. Management is very unresponsive when emailed about it and when they do respond, it's a vague "we're working on it." Staff at the front desk knows little about what's going on. No specifics about what is being done to remedy the problem or even an estimated timeline on when it will be complete. These temperatures are mild considering the cooler weather we've had. What happens in a few weeks when we hit summer weather?
There are multiple leaks with resulting mold around the gym. The basketball court reeks because there's 0 moving air in there.
Management will also yell at you if you rerack weights too loudly. It's a gym, there will be noise.
A few years ago, there were a number of car break-ins due to insufficient lighting in the parking lot. There's still broken glass on the ground from one of them. It's still dimly lit and their camera can't catch anything further than 30 feet.
Gym gets one extra star because it's a decent price with a solid brand of weights near the power racks.
Edit: What a surprise, a generic copy & pasted response from management.
Edit (7 months later): We got a few inches of snow and I wanted to see if they were open. I tried calling several times, checked the website, and Google and there was 0 notice of the gym being closed. Not a voicemail or note on the website that would take 2 minutes to post. Just completely dark. They aren't great with answering the phones in general, which is why them not answering wasn't sufficient indication of it being closed.

omg, What a horrible experience at this gym. Starting with the front desk person being very lazy, she also refused on many occasions to give us the free pass for 3 days, she denied it and after a long talk she told us that she would only give us one. She asked us for our IDs, I lost my state ID a couple of days ago and I brought my passport so they could see it, these people apart from being very xenophobic I think, as soon as they saw my passport, they started to inspect it and talked to my friend in front of me assuming that I didn't speak the language and that I didn't have a 'LOCAL ID' I couldn't enter, meaning I could only enter by PAYING, otherwise not. I took out my phone and showed them my state documents in PDF and after having no other way and when they realized that their assumptions about me for bringing a passport were malicious, they changed their attitude. What an unpleasant experience, all for coming to a place that they recommended to me. Besides, the machines are very old, it seems that they don't do any maintenance and they haven't renewed the machines for many years. I went in just to look at the gym and try it out, but nah, I won't go back. I'll stay at my current gym.

Despite seeing apologetic comments by the business under all the negative reviews, I can confirm that no action has been taken to remediate any of the issues mentioned. The temperature is still a problem, the machines and facilities are always extremely dirty, and broken machines remain unfixed.
It's kind of shocking, because some of these issues would be so easy to solve. If they hired a cleaner once every 3 months, that would be a significant improvement. Crazy...

I’ve been going to this gym for about a month and I would recommend it to just about anybody (unless you’re really really strong, in which case you should probably just go to DMV Iron down the street).
It’s big and has a good number and variety of machines, weights, and lifting platforms. I’m especially fond of the turf and sled, which you don’t see in many other gyms.
It is a big corporate gym, so you get all of the flaws you’d expect (occasionally crowded, bathrooms aren’t the cleanest, equipment not always put back, some other patrons need to work on their gym etiquette) but that’s not unique to this gym.
Overall, this is probably the best value gym I’ve ever belonged to and I’ve been very pleased with it so far.

Just left the gym after being disrespected by the checkin staff and I believe the GM
or whoever the head person is. I’ve been a member at this gym for over a year now. Today while I was working out, I realized that I left my water bottle in the car. Well after working out for an hour I thought well I need to go to car and grab my water. Shouldn’t be a problem right? Wrong? I went to my car, which only took two minutes at the most. You can check the cameras, it probably wasn’t that long since I parked right in front of the gym. Well when I walked back in the staff stopped me and told me I needed to check in. I told them “guys I just walked out to grab my water bottle. I’ve been in here all morning”. Their response we don’t care you need to check in right now. Well I also left my phone upstairs since I thought this would be a quick grab. I told them staff members this and told them I could grab my phone really quickly and show them I’ve been here. They told me no, you cannot walk up the steps unless you’ve checked in. So I had to be escorted back upstairs to grab my phone. I felt very disrespected and treated as if I was a thief or an un honest person. It was almost like a walk of shame. When I checked in once again and showed them that I’ve been at the gym, did I receive an apology or anything? NO! I will seriously consider spending my money else where. It’s ridiculous that a paying member should feel this way or be treated like that.
As you can see from my photo I had to check in twice. Once at 12:01pm and once again at 1:27pm - which was the problem.

I’ve been going to this gym since the middle of 2024. I made it a change to apply for a free weight gym that possesses a squat rack and a bench press. When deciding from the beginning which gym to apply for, I decided on this gym because of how close it was to commute to. At first I tried applying on the website, which claimed a 3 day free trial. So, I called up this gym to ask about whether they accept the three day free pass. They said no, which I was confused about. But, I know myself far enough that I know I’m nonchalant. So, the next day I went to the gym to apply for a membership and I was greeted by a young lady who nicely explained to me the membership tiers and what each consisted of. I was still confused on why the lowest tier would require you to pay up front the yearly payment, while next month still continue paying the 23 or 24, I don’t remember. Still, doesn’t make no sense. But, overall, gym has all the equipment that you need to stay fit and build muscle. Though they hold more cardio machines than free weights or machines than must people will use during the busiest hours of the day. But, apart from that, coaches are friendly and the activities are worth the price in my opinion. I will continue going to this gym.

I've been a member of 24 hr fitness for almost a decade. Unfortunately, the 24 hr fitness center at Tysons West closed. It was cleaner and the equipment was better maintained that the 24 hr fitness at 7 Corners Falls Church. The equipment at 24 hrs 7 Corners is not well maintained and often broken. The roof leaks in heavy rains. 20% of the main floor is closed during peak hours 5:30 - 9:30 Monday to Friday and often on weekends with no notice for members who pay for trainers. This area has much of the equipment I prefer to use but I never know when it will be closed especially on weekends. Recently I was strongly encouraged to leave this area by a trainer on a busy weekend although there were no signs posted the area was closed for members who pay extra and no one was doing functional training. There are usually no more than one or two people at a time working with trainers who also take their customers to the rest of the area to use equipment not in the functional training area. It is disappointing there is a caste system for those who pay extra for trainers as opposed to those who do not and thus, cannot utilize the entire gym when needed. I plan to look around for other gyms.

UPDATED REVIEW 6/14/24
I had to drop my review to 1 star from my previous 4 stars.
I cancelled my membership during the pandemic in 2020, then moved to Atlanta a year and a half ago. I'm in town for a few days and bought a 3-day pass to visit my old stomping grounds, but I won't be returning.
To put it simply, this gym is old and dirty. Period.
The locker rooms are disgusting. I literally didn't even want to touch anything (though at least the shower water pressure is much better than I remember). The shower drains seem clogged, so the showers kind of flood a bit. The gym equipment is just old, and so many machines just don't seem to be working right. I like to start with my cardio. I can't do impact exercises because of my sciatica, so I usually do the elliptical machine for cardio. After trying out about six different ellipticals that ranged from being creaky to outright not working, I tried a row machine, but the chain tension was weird and don't feel right. I finally just did 5 minutes of the ski trainer before starting my lifting.
The gym is definitely moldy, the equipment is probably the same equipment that was there when they first moved in. A couple cable machines were definitely broken. Not nearly enough barbell clamps, I have to assume people are probably just stealing them for themselves.
The parking lot wasn't too busy at all, and I can definitely see why. I hate saying this, but it definitely feels like there are better gym options around. I mean, the Planet Fitness a couple minutes away in Seven Corners seems like a better option than this gym, which is really sad and embarrassing to say. I used to love 24 Hour so much, so this was really disappointing. Maybe it has to do with 24 going bankrupt during the pandemic and closing a bunch of locations, but honestly, this is just sad.
* * * * * *
I love 24 Hour Fitness. I've been a member with 24 Hour Fitness for about a year and a half. I'm a huge fan of the location in Tyson's Corner. The Falls Church location... not quite as much. It's nice and serviceable, but I definitely have a few issues which knock off a star or two.
For starters, I know people say parking is limited. It's Falls Church, so I can see that. But I've never had an issue finding parking, even as it starts to get busier.
The gym itself has a lot of space to work out. Not quite as much open space as the Tyson's location, but they do have more equipment there, so it's much more justified. The bench/weights setup feels kind of weird to me, but I guess that's more personal preference. If you're looking for a location with a lot of space to push weights across the floor or the like, this isn't the location for you. They really do fill the space with plenty of machines. It never feels claustrophobic, but when it's busier, you can definitely tell. They use to have two rope trainer machines, as I recall, but it seems that they only have one now. But I rarely see others on it, so that's not a huge issue.
The staff doesn't seem quite as friendly and welcoming as other locations. They're quite friendly when trying to get people to sign up, which I completely understand, but if you're already a member, it feels like a kind of cold reception. But I only ever see them when I enter and leave, so I can take it or leave it, and I understand.
Another con is the locker rooms. The men's locker room showers have virtually no water pressure (I've literally tried them all), and I've never experienced that at any other gym that I work out at. It feels like it takes forever to wash off because the pressure is just so weak. The locker rooms have also seemed a bit dirtier than other locations I've been to.
Overall, a solid place to workout. It's just the little extraneous things, like the locker room and the courteousness of the staff that knocks off a few points for me. But I'd still recommend 24 as a great place to work out.

Rude customer service -
From the moment I walked in, I did not feel welcomed at all. The staff were unhelpful and seemed uninterested in providing a positive experience for potential members.
Specifically, I was very disappointed to find that the free three-day guest pass, which is prominently advertised, was not honored. This was a key factor in my decision to visit your gym, and not honoring it felt misleading. When I brought this up with the staff, they were dismissive and did not provide any assistance or reasonable explanation. The staff requested to pay 25 dollars for 3 days trial.
Overall, the lack of hospitality and poor customer service left a very negative impression. As someone who is looking for a gym to join, this experience has made it clear that [24 hrs] does not value its potential members.
Especially, I requested to check out the gym while I was there on Saturday 6/8/24.The staff refused me to step in to view facility before I make my decision to join the gym. It kind of disappointed .
Follow up- wrote a letter to HQ. Someone called and had a quick chat over the phone.

This gym is absolutely horrible , I don’t know
how this manager is holding his job .He blames everything on “ cooperate won’t approve it “. It’s been over 85 degrees for over 6 weeks now and they don’t seem to care about it . It is against the department of health regulations for a fitness facility over 76 Fahrenheit . The gym is a health hazard at this point I wouldn’t be surprised if
someone passes out . This gym is not a 24 hour facility the spa area which has the hot tub swimming pool sauna and steam room closed at 8 . It is absolutely disgusting
In the sauna and steam room I doubt it’s cleaned daily. I know numerous of
members that has canceled their membership they at this point they are losing money.I don’t think it’s the managements fault ,cooperate just doesn’t care . Avoid this gym at all costs , xsport fitness is an actual 24 hour fitness facility that’s the same price as this gym and their spa hours are 24 7, and the gym is not this hot .

Late night review:
Just another location that has just about everything you need. It's got a decent layout with machines and racks on the second floor.
This one also had the 2x2 squat racks facing each other so it's hella awkward to do your squats while you watch another guy grunting at you too lol
For some reason late at night gets busier than I would expect (10pm+) but maybe that's because the other 24 hours around the area close and everyone goes to this one?

AVOID this Gym at all costs. I signed up for a year-long membership and went for a year. In February, my gym membership auto-renewed, and I was charged $299.00. I asked for a refund, but the Gym said no. Since I had paid for the year, I decided to go to the Gym.
So, I go to the Gym, and the front desk wouldn't let me enter, saying my membership was terminated. I explained that I paid ($299.00) for this renewal year, (2024-2025) and they confirmed that to be true in the Gym's system. THEN, the General Manager, Kevin, said, "How do I know that's a real payment?" (WHAT IN THE WORLD!?) I showed him the debited payment from my bank account, AND he confirmed that my 24 Hour Fitness login account says, "$0.00 balance, Paid." Still, Kevin (the general manager) won't let me enter the Gym because my payment might not be real! I have contacted corporate 24-hour fitness thrice via email since they do not have a corporate phone number in service, and NO ONE HAS ANSWERED ME.

I was previously a member of One Life fitness, until they closed their indoor pool. I looked for a gym that has an indoor pool and joined 24 hour fitness, Falls Church branch. Unfortunately, they only have 1 life guard that does a decent job maintaining the cleanliness of the pool and the pool area. If he is not there, the pool become filthy and no one, including the GM makes any attempts at ensuring the cleanliness of the pool. I went for my swim on Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, the pool was so filthy, I did not dare go in. The life guard on duty said this was their first time at this location and is not familiar with how things work. I went to speak with the GM, he was not there. 24 hour fitness, at least the Falls Church branch, makes no attempts at maintaining a clean gym, pool or workout area. The management is dishonest, arrogant, presumptuous, and condescending. My elderly mother signed up for training sessions here, and then decided to cancel after some time. She was told that her training was successfully canceled, but was then subsequently charged. She spoke with management several times over the phone and in person to no avail, and management did not take any responsibility. Instead, each time they insisted that they never received any notice of cancellation, and that she had zero proof that she cancelled. She decided to get refunded via the credit card company. Afterwards, management audaciously told her that she owed money to 24 hour fitness, and that she would not be allowed to use the facilities until she paid up.
As others have noted, the facilities are not particularly clean, but I'd say the management is a million times ruder than the gym is filthy. There are often broken machines and equipment, but I haven't seen anything more broken in this gym than the management. If only they could find a way to convert their arrogance and dishonesty into energy they'd actually be able to keep the AC on. One will probably expend more energy disputing an unjust charge than doing a workout here. Came to improve physical health, but it seems the cost is one's mental health. A low cost gym doesn't need to have low class management.
However, I'd like to give a 5+ star shoutout to Derrick the trainer. He's awesome, friendly, and is gonna need a lot of prayer if he deals with management here. He deserves to be at a better gym.

I have been coming to this gym a couple of times now within the past year as a guest through my friend's buddy pass and it has been a very unpleasant experience overall. I have dealt with the general manager, Kevin, once and his tone and demeanor is very off putting. He had my friend and I come back to the front as we were walking to use the restroom. At that point, we were already checked by the manager himself. It was almost as if he was questioning if I had been registered. He had also mispronounced my name calling me "DJ?". It is literally two letters out of the 26 letters of the English Alphabet. The place is very dirty and unkempt. There is mold and dust everywhere and no proper ventilation.

The majority of clients are also friendly and there to workout but there are still a few who can’t/refuse to re-rack their weights and clean up after themselves. If you are one of those guys (yep it’s almost always a gym bro) why is it that you can bench 325lbs but not put the weights back? End rant.

I paid extra for the buddy passes and they would not allow me to use them on multiple occasions. They would change their policy from one week to the next, and the facilities were not great. I will be canceling my membership.

This gym is going downhill. Getting more dirty and stinky.

This location requires significant renovation; the lockeroom reeks of urine, and there's no ventilation whatsoever.

When signing up, I consistently told the person at the front desk that I wanted the 6-months commitment, which was the same membership plan that my partner had. Just realized it's actually a 12-month membership. I should've checked further but we were there about 30 mins to signup and I over and over and over again stated I wanted to signup for the 6-month membership. I'd be VERY careful about joining (or do it online) because based on how dirty the gym is, I definitely wouldn't have done the whole year. So many machines are broken or barely functioning, the ceiling is always leaking so there are paint buckets over the place, not to mention lack of employees checking the floor to remove heavy weights off the rack. I've also been to the women's locker room a few times and it reeks of marijuana. I would not recommend this place.

Today my second day, and 24 Hour Fitness is turning a great experience, nice group classes, and the machines are in good condition, it might be a bit full in rush hour, but I think as it’s usual on every gym, my 5 stars are because of the service, I wanted to switch from golden to platinum and kindly Rene made me the change, on a easy way, also very kind since I came for first time.

I have been a member for several months and unfortunately this will be the first poor review I have given any business.
I have personally told the front desk a few times of the in operable cardio equipment. In pictures it looks impressive to have four full rows of various cardio equipment but when you find out that only two or three machines in each row actually work properly, it's less impressive.
gym has good space for free weight and machines but lacks good functional fitness area. the lack sufficient numbers and weight levels of kettlebells and the ones they do have are old and cracked.
extremely poor maintenance- appears management doesn't care.
Update: after another month post their acknowledgment of issues , nothing has changed in fact more machines are broken….

Went there for my three day free pass, to ended up having to pay 25 dollars, because it was not actually free. They should let people know about this before they actually go to the location. First time there, I was doing a video workout from my iPad, which I was not educated that it was not allowed, to have someone approach me, not very kindly, to say that I couldn’t do that and that a lot of people was upset that I was doing it. How is that my fault? Honestly not a good experience.

Completely disappointed with this gym. There’s water always leaking from the ceiling, mold on the walls, half the staff won’t even say anything to you because they are on their phones and most cardio machines don’t work. When letting them know about it and asking when it will be fixed they say they have a weekly maintenance guy who fixes the machines but yet they still don’t work?? It’s been a year and there’s been no improvement. Don’t waste your time joining here.

EDIT: It has now been more than a month since I left my initial review and got a canned response promising to do better. No improvements have been made. My next call is going to be to the Department of Health.
Filthy, smelly, damp. The surfaces and floor of this gym look like they legit have never been cleaned. Plus ventilation seems very poor. Inside the weight room was steamy and warm and generally muggy. All of the windows were fogged on the inside with all the moisture in the air. By my estimation there was 1 equipment cleaning station for every ~40 machines or so. I'm not picky and I've never had to write a review like this, but this gym was actually filthy. PLEASE CLEAN THE GYM.

Mold all over 2 corners! They worked on it but still a lot left over more than 2 corners and in women's showers.
Then they go and shorten the pool/jacuzzi/sauna hours to 8am-8pm (when 24 hours is in the name) without notice. Not a sign anywhere til I showered and got in the jacuzzi for 5 minutes and got kicked out. That is the last straw. Leaving for XSport.
AC is not working or turned on high enough despite many complaints over months (80 F 1/7/24)!! Dues were raised by a lot, but no apparent improvements. Pool and Jacuzzi are old and stained. Several TV's not on for months, despite being notified. The fitness class lighting is depressing, with no windows. We've been loyal members even through the pandemic closure that was poorly handled (lasted way longer than promised without notice to members; we had 0 update). Love the saunas, location, nice front staff, basketball court, and app. If it weren't for the proximity to our home, I would love to cancel. Actually, this AC issue might lead us to drive further to another gym. And this is after I was a happy member of a California location!

This gym could easily be improved. I was a member for almost 2 years. Used to be 4 stars the first few months as a member.
Cleanliness is the biggest issue. There is visible mold on the support columns and trash/dust/dirt everywhere. Sauna inconsistently clean and smells bad frequently. Whenever it rains there are trash cans everywhere to collect water leaking from the roof.
They have ample lifting equipment, however, about 35-45% of the treadmills are either broken or have issues and have been that way for months.
The number of members is impressive given the state of the gym, but there are not many options in the area.
This gym needs to raise prices, clean, and take care of the facility better. Absolute waste of potential given location, population, and size.

I’ll start by saying I went to this gym for 2 years due to its convenience of location & relatively low price. Well lemme tell ya, you get what you pay for. I switched from Planet Fitness to here as I thought it would be an upgrade. Wrong, the same 3 stairstepper machines were broken in my whole time there & countless not working treadmills. The front desk staff was nice but very rarely did they ever come up to the gym floor to clean anything. But honestly, the worst part about this place is the locker rooms. DISGUSTING. I mean mold, cockroaches, just a straight up nasty smell in the showers. I never contacted upper management about how foul it was but I talked to other people who did and nothing ever changed. Save yourself the time & energy, just join the Planet Fitness.

The locker room always smells very bad. Also I've never seen any one clean. Maybe hire some one to just clean for 8 hours a day... Maybe two people. At least planet fitness I almost always see some one cleaning.

Bathrooms are dirty. I have complained many times and nothing gets done. Please do something as competition is out there. It is a shame as the equipment and classes are fine and the cycling studio is great.

They stopped, charging my car during Covid and started back up again without notification or an email. Didn’t set a foot in the place for three years and they continue to charge. When I reached out to customer service I received no response whatsoever. I expect much better service than I have been provided.
