A huge thank you to OrangeTheory Coaches Laura and Josie who show up for all of us at 5AM and keep us challenged, motivated and getting stronger! I came to this OT when I was postpartum and struggling to regain my muscle strength and core power. They were so supportive and modified exercises for me as I gradually got stronger—within months I was running non-stop and feeling back to my “self” thanks to their guidance and encouragement. Thank you both!

Their monthly fees are very high, and the price does not include wristbands that measure your heart rate, which they don’t tell you upfront. Later on, they inform you that you need to either purchase or rent it for an additional cost. If you don’t buy it, you end up feeling ripped off, as if you paid an excessive amount for a standard gym membership. Moreover, the instructors are not friendly, and I didn’t like the way they communicated. I canceled my membership and would not recommend it.

Stupid people ! I have been rescheduled thrice
I booked a class via call at 4:20 pm and they told me that I had to be there at 5:00 pm at 4:40pm for a 5:30 pm class. I reached somehow at 5:08 after informing that I'll be there at 5:10 as it was quite the last minute. Upon no one being available onsite and no one responding to my calls and messages, finally they messaged me at 5:15 that they can't accommodate me. I went in and still they were like it's too late to accommodate you. Absolutely no concern for customers time and value as I was rescheduled thrice and each time I showed up there were multiple reasons before I could try a class. Never going back to this location ever again!! Rude customer service!!

I've had a great time at Orangetheory up until I had to cancel my membership. After many years (sticking it through COVID), unfortunately, I had to cancel my membership and couldn't connect with the front desk, so I left a VM. I didn't receive a phone call back and just got the cancellation document via email. You would think after so many years, I could have at least gotten a phone call back. Customer service is really bad!
Coaches and classes were always awesome, but this has left a bitter taste for Orangetheory to ever return.

My orange theory adventure has been nothing short of a wild ride! From the moment I stepped in, Roman greeted me and guided me through the ins and outs with the enthusiasm. The tour felt like a backstage pass to a fitness concert, with Roman rocking the role of the lead guitarist, showing off every machine like they were rock stars on stage.

Then came Meredith, the instructor extraordinaire, so full of energy. She took me under her fitness wing, guiding me through my first class with the finesse of a seasoned pro. Throughout the sweat-fest, she checked in on me, ensuring I was on the right track to fitness glory.

And let’s not forget about the perks! Scored a free heart monitor thanks to a sweet promotion, feeling like a fitness VIP. And when a pesky app glitch threatened to derail my workout mojo, Jordan swooped in like a tech superhero, saving the day with a fix and follow-up that made me feel like a fitness superstar.

OTF Pentagon City is fabulous! The coaches, desk staff, equipment and cleanliness all make for reasons I use OTF PC as a solid part of my wellness plan. Head coach, Natalie pours her heart and soul into each hour and talks much louder than the voice within my head that was convincing me prior to class that today was going to be a slack day. Not a chance! Natalie's passion shines through in her encouraging style and ability to coach that keep me coming back for more. Tony makes each class so fun by combining coaching with dance swagger to keep things super exciting and playful. Laura's knowledge and enthusiasm make for a glad you came sort of class. I had Eileen when she was still in training as a coach and I was wow'd by her ability and confidence. I've not had the others but have only heard great things.

Front desk, Josh, Andrew, and others whose names I do not know, are all so warm and welcoming.

Pentagon City used to intimidate me by the mere busyness of the location, but as soon as I learned the underground free parking spots (and few above ground,) I not only enjoy getting my sweat on, but bringing my sweaty self into several other businesses that surrounding OTF. I’ve been a member at OFF for about 6 years now.
I’ve been to countless studios around the country and really love my OTF workout.
I recently went to OTC Pentagon City to take one of my friends classes. I’ve met amazing friends since being a member for several years and I follow my friends if they are coaches! Shout out to coach Laura.
It was a wonderful experience.
I felt welcomed from the moment I walked in and I usually go at 5 am.
One of the studio associates, Roman, was so helpful and considerate when checking me into class.
I also noticed he was great at talking to a new person who was taking class. He took time to really get to know what this person wanted out of their workout.
I can’t wait to keep going to this studio!

Orangetheory PC is by far the best gym in the DMV. I have been a member for several years and believe me, I would not have a premiere membership and recommended many close friends to experience the team-oriented positive environment unless it was phenomenal. Let’s be clear… it’s hard.

Since Josh has taken over as the the studio manager it has gone from good to EPIC- not only does he know everyone by name, but he spends time and energy creating new and fun studio “perks” like coffee Saturday sponsored by Joe’s, promotions from Degree giving all members samples, Viva la France day with fresh baguettes and jam- and my fav; roses and champagne for Mother’s Day - this is just on the last two months…. (Plus free friends days for extra incentive!). His dedication to the studio, members and staff is on a whole different level.

The front desk staff is friendly and helpful- I mean, they smile when you walk in (and I walk in at 5am!!)

Last but not certainly not least… the coaching staff- let’s start with head coach Natalie- her spirit, music, and one on one attention in a room of 30 plus is beyond words! This coach truly cares about making all of us into athletes- she meets us where we are - motivating and inspiring to be that 1% better…. The energy Coach NAT brings to the studio is unmatched. You really have to experience it to believe it. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention Coach Laura- I have literally followed her for 5 years! This coach is the best at demonstrating and communicating how to lift, row and run… she is never too busy to give a suggestion (while never missing a beat on the mic) and most importantly allows you to keep your dignity- she is with you, talking to you…. Never talking at you-

I have known and been instructed by many personal trainers…and they have been great, however, they all seem to pull down the Orangetheory process- running too much, etc etc… here’s what they don’t understand…. It’s about community- the experience when you are next to that person, listening to that coach…trusting….holding each other accountable while collectively being fully committed to supporting a complete stranger next to you. That’s why we go- and OTC PC is the gold standard.

The OTF PC gym is a safe and amazing environment- I should have posted this review long ago…. shame on me- sometimes you have to tell the people who invest in you - THANK YOU!!!! Thank you OTF PC-

I recently had the unfortunate experience of joining the Orange Theory Gym, and I must say it was nothing short of disappointing.

The first issue I encountered was their cancellation policy, which they conveniently failed to mention during the sign-up process.
They sent me a poorly constructed and confusing PDF contract that made it even more frustrating to read. It seemed as though they were intentionally trying to make the process as convoluted as possible.

After I signed the contract, the quality of care and attention I received from Orange Theory Gym deteriorated rapidly. They showed no interest in following up on my progress or providing any assistance in achieving my personal fitness goals. It was disheartening to realize that their primary focus was extracting money without offering any further support.

Adding insult to injury, they pushed me to purchase a seemingly "essential" watch that they claimed would track my progress and display the calories burned during classes. However, the watch proved utterly useless as it frequently failed to synchronize with the gym's devices. It left me wondering why they would offer a product that they couldn't make genuinely functional. It felt like a misleading sales tactic that only added to my frustration and disappointment.
Additionally, do not expect any special attention or modifications if you have any pre-existing injuries. This lack of consideration for individual needs can potentially lead to further injuries or complications.
When I wanted to cancel my membership due to these numerous issues, they made the process difficult and costly. Despite expressing dissatisfaction with their services, they insisted on charging me a full month's subscription, even though I had literally initiated the cancellation request at the beginning of my subscription month. This further reinforced their prioritization of financial gain over providing a satisfactory experience for me.

Overall, my experience at Orange Theory Gym was awful, and I would not recommend it to anyone. The lack of transparency, poor customer service, and disregard for individual needs make it a gym to avoid. Plenty of other fitness centers prioritize their members' well-being and satisfaction, and I would encourage you to explore those alternatives instead.

Love the class schedule. However, it would be great if the coaches could switch up their music every so often. Listening to the same songs every Monday-Thursday morning can get a little repetitive. Kristof, Elva, and Natalie have exceptional music. Additionally some coaches talk consistently throughout the entire class so it is hard to focus on the task at hand. Coaches should focus on instruction, not *nonstop* talking for 55 minutes. Often times I find myself missing instruction on the treadmill because they are correcting form on the floor or rower with the mic on, rather than individually.

Love OTF! I signed up for my membership in a DC location near my office but end up coming to the Pentagon City location way more often. All the coaches I’ve worked out with here are so nice and energetic. Lauren is def my favorite one - I love her class structure and her energy, and she’s been super patient and flexible with me when my finger was injured. Also, all the staff here that I’ve encountered are very nice and helpful. Highly recommend!!

Convenient class times, energetic coaches, varied workouts. For the last 2 years, I’ve been doing yoga 6X a week as a measured approach to recovering from CrossFit induced and endurance athlete-induced injuries that began manifesting as I entered my 40s. But after dedicated yoga training, I knew I wanted/needed something more. I certainly wasn’t going back to the practices that broke my body to begin with. I began incorporating OTF once a week, then twice a week, and now I’m up to 4X week )with yoga in between 3-4X a week). I love it! My VO2 Max is steadily climbing back to where it used to be and I’m managing my injuries in a sustainable way. I really love the feeling of crushing my workouts without damaging my body and the results!

Additionally, I love the flexibility of getting my workout in when I travel for work or pleasure. Tons of locations makes it super easy to stay on track.

The only improvement is studio cleanliness. Lots of dust and dust bunnies around the equipment. It looks as if though a thorough cleaning nightly is missing. Compared to other studios I’ve visited, this one needs some TLC

Highly recommended if you are looking for a non-boring studio workout which combines high intensity burst w strength and endurance training. Having been to studios all over the US, this is by far the worst I have ever been to. Horrible customer service. No engagement by staff. Coach seemed like being there was a chore. Demoed the weight floor and never returned while I watched folks do all the wrong workouts. Staff never said “hi, bye, thanks for coming”. Cool down had music blaring so you couldn’t hear the coach. Literally provided 0 motivation to the class. Ultimately very disappointed in my time at this studio.

I love Orange Theory!! I started going about a year after I gave birth and wanted to get back to fitness again. After birth, I had to lose the 20lbs and was doing some exercises at home. Lost about 15lbs in a year with limited exercises and some serious diet, but was not in the shape that I wanted. Now after going to Orange theory, I am very happy with the classes, the coaches and everything about it! I am wearing my old jeans from college again, and feeling very healthy and fit.

What I love about Orange Theory vs. going to the gym on my own is that I get a full body work out. Weights become more essential as we get older, especially for women. OT forces me to do weights and my muscles are so much slimmer than before!

I highly recommend Orange Theory Pentagon city or just Orange theory in general!

Really difficult to get enrolled in classes that work with my schedule during M-F. Soon after the schedule posts, the slots are filled, and I have never been able to come off the waitlist.

I recommend people wait until a full reopening before committing to this OTF location.

Also, keep in mind that, if you purchase an unlimited class pass, it is a two-month minimum commitment.

Management is horrible!! Fraud and liars. Giving me a hard time canceling my membership. They demand I must visit their studio to cancel my membership. I am out of state for work for
3 months I am not going to fly to Virginia to close out my account. I called several OTF studios around and they all said management at Pentagon city is being ridiculous. They should be able to send me the cancellation fee via email.
I tried to speak to someone above the manager Liz but they refused to give me the corporate info or owner’s info.

The assistant manager is extremely rude.
She said “unless I am deceased or out of country, their owner will not make an exception of sending the cancellation form

April 2019- Just a quick update. Almost 3 years in and I still absolutely love OTF! The workouts remain challenging as they are ever changing. If you're looking for a new workout I highly recommend OTF and the Pentagon City location!

Original Review- I grew up playing sports (tennis, basketball, soccer and competitive swimming) and so don't feel right if I'm not working out. Since college, I've mainly run (with a little bit of swimming and occasional weights) to stay in shape, and since around 9 years ago have done a couple of half marathons and ten milers each year in addition to shorter races (and one full marathon in 2011). In the 3 years prior to 2016 I'd experienced 2 significant injuries each year and so knew that I really needed to cross-train more.

OTF opened in the building next door and so I decided to try it out. And... I love it. I chose the 8 classes per month package as I do still run. I've loved the workouts and the instructors and do feel that adding OTF has contributed to elevating my overall level of fitness. I started in August, and in October ran the Army Ten Miler (for the 4th time, but first time uninjured). Although not my 10-miler PR, it was the fastest 10-miler I'd run in quite a while and more importantly, I felt great doing it. Since then I've run 3-5 shorter races, and again, although not PRs, they've been the fastest I've run in quite a while.

I love that the workouts are designed in such a way that people at different levels of fitness can participate and get a great workout. The treadmill portion is broken down by directions for Runners, Joggers, and Walkers and you will see people at each level every time you are there (and there is a bike and a strider for those who may not currently be able to use the treadmill due to injury, etc). For other exercises, the coaches will show variations. The coaches push you, but not past what you are capable of. I've had days where I haven't been able to do what I normally can, and have let up, and nobody has made me feel bad about it. I also love that it's a group workout and you can have fun with others in the class.

If you are looking to add something new to your workout routine, I highly recommend OTF Pentagon City!

I am absolutely obsessed with Orange Theory. From the inquiry process, to my first day joining, it has been the most pleasurable experience. Everyone that works there is so pleasant and willing to help with the million questions I have lol. The coaches that lead the class are very personable and informative. The class is very rigorous, however you can move at your own speed without feeling judged. Vicky has been super helpful and kind to me, she is one of the reasons I joined. I highly recommend this location, you will not regret it!! I am so excited for my journey with Orange Theory!!!

Amazing trainers, amazing classes! I've been to several Orange Theory locations and this one just feels like a family. I also love how they have the lockers to store things during class. Other gyms just offer cubbies and it doesn't feel as secure. I will say that they are booked pretty far ahead of time, and I've never gotten into a class off a wait list. So if you want to be a regular, it's easier to book weeks ahead of time.

I'm in the area for work and decided to step out of comfort zone ... try another OTF. This place is busier than my normal OTF as all classes but the 830 PM were wait listed. I decided to register for the 830. When I got there staff was extremely helpful and nice. The instructor was great too. Fabulous workout, I'll be going back next time I'm in town.

I have had a very positive experience so far at OrangeTheory on S. Fern. I took advantage of the free first class for local residents - Lauren was very helpful in setting everything up. On the morning of, Rachel was a rockstar and gave me a great introduction to the facility, the goals of the class, and the equipment. The instructor, Dani, was awesome - very personable, knowledgeable, and motivating without being loud or intimidating. I bought a 10 class pack and have been going once a week...I look forward to it and I'm already seeing results! I think I'll keep this as a part of my weekly regiment moving forward.

OTF is awesome. I've recently joined the studio at Pentagon City, Va. I've had Shayna and Monica and they are both very attentive, encouraging and helpful to everyone. I like that they focus on good form on all the exercises. I am out of breath every time I am walking out of my work out. The staff working in the front are really nice too. Hannah and Mikaela were both very informative and are actually one of the reasons I joined this place.

It's dynamic at every level. Not just every fitness level, but as you get better it grows with you, always challenging you to be better, stronger, faster. The workouts themselves are dynamic working on muscles we can see and cardio vascular health, as well as mixing it up every time. I've been an unlimited member for over a year and never have I encountered the same workout twice. Love it

Never been a big gym guy, but this is structured differently than most gyms. The instructors/coaches/motivators are each different, and move the process along seamlessly. I was a little apprehensive (not quite the right word), about the price, but for the butt kicking that I have received the past 5 months I've been a member, is well worth it. Sadly, there are no Orangetheory places near my permanent home in NW PA, and there isn't a pool (minor to say the least), but overall, best gym experience I've had in a long, long time.

I've been a member for 7 months (since they opened) and have absolutely loved my experience.

The workout is extremely challenging and motivating, but not intimidating. The OTF videos can look really intense, but the real thing is amazing - everyone is there to improve themselves and to support each other. Everyone is at a different level, physically - some are life-long athletes, some are recovering from an injury and need to take it somewhat "light", some have never worked out in their life, and it just works. It's definitely a no-judgement place that works for just about EVERYONE.

I am not someone who typically enjoys or does cardio on my own, so this has been a great way to stay motivated and to be held accountable. It is a very encouraging, positive environment. I have never considered myself a runner, but I have improved both my endurance and speed, thanks to the direction of the coaches and the variety of the workouts. I typically only go 2 times a week on average, and have noticed a difference in my overall strength, endurance, and definitely in my physique - I'm visibly slimmer and more toned than I was when I started!

The coaches do an awesome job at providing a fun, effective workout for the whole group, while still managing to provide one-on-one support and modifications when needed. They also do a great job at varying the workouts - it is consistent enough that you are familiar with the activities, but different enough that you don't get bored with one workout or one coach in particular. Each coach is a little bit different, their personalities and coaching styles shine through during their coaching, and you'll have a slightly different experience with different coaches (in a good way!)

The entire staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, and supportive and I feel so accomplished after every single workout.
