I've been going O.T. Ashburn for a little over 4 months and it... is... AWESOME. The program they offer has changed my body by reducing my body fat and greatly strengthening my body from head-to-toe. Most importantly, the coaches that I've had the pleasure to receive guidance and instruction from have been key. And those fantastic coaches are: Trey, Jheanelle, Paige, Laila, Meghan and Lauren. I have been a member for three months now and have improved my fitness immensely! The coaches are fantastic and push me in each class. The front desk and sales team are very communicative and always willing to answer a question. The fitness is what I signed up for but the community and events are a great add on that I did not expect. Lastly, the OTF network nationwide is very accepting. I have taken classes in Texas, Maryland and Pennsylvania. Each studio welcomes you with open arms!
2025 Update - OTF Ashburn continues to be fantastic! My fitness has improved significantly since the last review. The workouts are rewarding and the main reason I signed up. Whether it is Hell Week, Mayhem, 12 Days of Fitness or Marathon Month, there is never a dull moment!
The community is the added bonus! The staff and coaches are fantastic people who push the members. Specific OTF staff and coaches that are wonderful people:
Coach Laila - My original OTF coach, the one who got me to sign up and the one who has to put up with me the most each week.
Coach Trey - Another one of the original coaches for me. I don't see him as much anymore but he will always remember your name and greet you with a smile.
Coach Jheanelle - She'll demand the most out of you and its just what my laziness needs. Thank you.
Everyone else at Ashburn is great as well! Best OTF Studio in the area.
Lastly, to my #2 studio OTF Sterling (Colleen and Melissa), when the Ashburn schedule doesn't work for me, Sterling always welcomes guests with open arms.

The only criticism that I have of this gym is about my OWN behavior. That is, the workout is as challenging as I make it, so it is up to ME to push myself or back off. My fitness and well being are up to ME. The classes are there but it is MY responsibility to sign up and show up. Some classes are different than others and the information is available for ME to find out about them. It's also MY responsibility to charge the heart rate monitor, wear it, and understand the science behind it.
The coaches explain, they lead, they motivate, and ALL of the coaches that I've had EXCEL at what they do. Each one has exceeded my expectations and have blown me away with their ability to juggle multiple workouts at the same time. Additionally, it is profoundly impressive how much the coaches care about each class, each work out, and the professionalism and positivity that they bring.
The classes vary, the workouts change, and I am never bored. I love the group environment with like minded people around me. The music is fantastic and the equipment is fabulous. At this stage of my life, this is really fantastic.
When I was younger, I was a competitive athlete. Now, I'm slowly accepting the fate of middle age on my body. Am I giving in? Absolutely not, but I can't push things like I used to. OT Ashburn won't get me to how I was in my 20s (ha!) and I don't think I'm capable or THAT motivated either. Still, I really enjoy going, being with others like me and I'm indescribably grateful for all the effort and passion that the coaches give.
Ok, I just thought of a criticism. I wish there were boxes of tissues around the gym b/c my nose runs like crazy when I work out. But again, I could also bring my own tissues and just be more prepared. : )

Orangetheory Ashburn is absolutely incredible! Every class is full of energy, encouragement, and great vibes. Coach Trey, Laila, and Honey are truly amazing — each one brings their own unique style that keeps you motivated and pushing harder every single workout. Trey is so motivating and always keeps the energy high, Laila has the best playlists and gives such great form cues, and Honey somehow knows exactly when to give that extra push you need to hit a new goal.
The studio is super clean, the front desk is always welcoming, and the community here feels like family. If you’re looking for a place to challenge yourself and have fun doing it, Orangetheory Ashburn is the place to be!

I have been an orangetheory member for over 7 years! The works never get old and always seem to challenge me and I still see improvements. When I moved to Ashburn in 2023, I thought no studio would ever replace my OTF Kingstowne family but I was wrong. OTF Ashburn is awesome! The staff are friendly and helpful and all the coaches are amazing especially Coach Jheanelle! She always challenges and encouraged me in class and she always comes to class with amazing energy and positivity no matter what is going on in her life. She's the GOAT! Coach Paige is also one of my favs! She's so fun and always makes surely my form is great and gives great encouragement on the treadmill. She also notices the improvements we make, which is so helpful because sometimes we don't always see them in ourselves. I honestly can't say enough nice things about OTF Ashburn. 🤎🤎

I’ve been a member of Orangetheory Fitness Ashburn for about seven months now, and I can honestly say it’s been life-changing! My strength, endurance, and overall health have improved tremendously since joining. The workouts are always challenging but so rewarding, and the energy in every class keeps me motivated to push harder.
Coach Trey is absolutely the best—he’s upbeat, positive, and genuinely invested in helping members improve. He takes the time to correct my form and offer personalized tips, which has made a big difference in my progress. The entire team here creates such a supportive and fun environment.

I was looking to get back in shape and tone up and found OTF though my sister who's been a member for a year and lost a lot of weight by joining this gym. I've had great results just within 2 months of joining! The coaches are awesome. Especially Trey, even though he's a Slytherin ;-) Love the fun themes they do which is now Harry Potter in honor of Halloween since it's October. I highly recommend this place if you wanna get in shape and have a healthy lifestyle!

OTF 5:00AM is the best. The coaches are full of energy and push you to do your best . I used to go to another gym that had 5 AM classes and the vibe was very much a pat on the back for getting yourself there as if that was enough. That started to seep into how I was working out. The early morning classes at OTF do not give that feel. They push you each time to do your best. This morning’s coach, Trent, pushed us and brought the energy and I appreciate it. I appreciate the 5:00AM coaches always showing up on time as well. Thanks to you all!

I tried the free introduction class at Orangetheory this morning, and it was such a great experience! The staff was welcoming right from the start, making me feel comfortable even though it was my first time. The coach took the time to explain how everything works—the heart rate monitor, the stations, and how to adjust things for my fitness level.
The workout itself was motivating and fun! I loved the mix of treadmill, rowing, and strength training—it kept things engaging and went by so fast. The energy in the room was contagious, and the coach gave great encouragement and corrections throughout. I left feeling challenged but accomplished, and definitely energized for the day.
For anyone curious about Orangetheory, I’d highly recommend giving the free intro class a try. It’s a supportive, upbeat environment that makes working out exciting!

I was probably a member for 10ish months maybe…. I think Coach Trey is amazing and really appreciated his classes in helping me with my fitness goals. If you want to push yourself and to learn good form - he’s the man. His classes were probably the reason I stayed for as long as I did. I also did enjoy classes with Paige, Laila, Jheanelle, and Mike. But ultimately after taking a class with Melissa W and she was making digs at members over the mic I realized this studio wasnt really the vibe I craved for my workouts.

I joined Orangetheory a couple of months ago and have been loving it ever since. The group setting is super motivating, but I really appreciate that you can still go at your own pace and make each workout your own. I absolutely love taking classes at Orangetheory, and Coach Trey is a huge reason why! My favorite class with him is Strength—he really takes the time to coach you through each block, helps with form, and pushes you to choose the right weights so you’re actually challenging yourself. On top of that, he’s hilarious and always makes everyone laugh, which makes the workout fly by. You can tell he genuinely cares about helping everyone improve and feel confident. I truly love going and just wish they offered more late afternoon or evening classes on the weekends. Highly recommend booking a class with Trey if you get the chance!

I can confidently say that joining orange theory has been one of the best decisions I have made for my health. I have tried so many different workouts in the past and nothing ever stuck. I look forward to going to orange theory every week. I have gone to multiple locations and Ashburn has been my favorite by far! I feel so welcomed there by all of the stuff. The coaches there are so motivating and have the best energy. Their guidance has really helped me learn better form when lifting weights when in the past I would usually give up because I did not feel like I was doing it right. Very disappointed with the lack of communication and customer service at OT.
We were told to arrive 20 minutes early for a demo class—not 30—and were denied entry at 5:45 AM for a 6:05 AM class. No one mentioned the stricter cutoff or that body metrics would suddenly be mandatory for my husband (they weren’t for me previously).
We were met by a clearly annoyed receptionist and told we couldn’t attend. The instructor also refused to let us in, citing “company policy” we were never informed of.
When I tried to cancel, I was told I’d still be charged $175 for the upcoming month. The assistant manager offered a generic promo available to anyone, and when I asked to speak with the manager, I was told “in 2 days”—then told she’d be in later that day.
The manager finally called just to lecture me about how I was wrong and how much she trusts her team. No accountability. No willingness to listen. Just a lot of wasted time and a good lesson in what not to do in customer service.

BEST DECISION EVER! ✨🍊💪🏼 The classes offer a fantastic combination of pre-planned strength and cardio in a high-energy, positive atmosphere that encourages you to push yourself. You just need to show up, and the heart rate monitor provides great feedback on whether you’re working too hard or not hard enough. The coaches are amazing, and it’s hard to name favorites because they are all exceptional, but I will mention a few: Jheanelle, Taylor, Page, and Laila. I've been going to Orangetheory in Ashburn for over 2 years now, and I can honestly say it's the best workout experience I've ever had! Also, providing the sense of safety, particularly for an older adult man like me.

The best way to approach is to start with three sessions per week, then progress to five sessions per week. There are some reviewed stating that OTF workouts are not designed for muscle growth. There are different types of classes. Some classes are designed to build strength and muscles be working primarily with dumbbells. The most common “Orange 60 min 2D” class has at least 20 minutes dedicated to working with dumbbells and TRX. After attending classes for a year, I usually adjust by choosing the heavier weights, or modifying the exercises to promote more strength rather than endurance.

I love Orange Theory. I feel like it is a good, well rounded workout. I love having a coach who pushes me to do more. November 2024 marks two years since I joined OTF, and I’m proud to say I’m 90 pounds down! I signed up during the November heart rate monitor special in 2022, and it was the best decision I’ve ever made—worth every penny. Beyond the physical strength I’ve gained, my mental health has never been better. I’m so grateful for Orangetheory and cannot recommend it enough!
At a regular gym, I would quit when things got hard. At OTF, the coaches constantly motivate me, and it shows in my results. The community and other members are so uplifting, creating a true sense of teamwork. It’s inspiring to feel proud of every person in the room alongside you.

The classes are welcoming to all fitness levels, and the coaches, Taylor TT, Trey and Emily, are incredibly positive and helpful. One of the best things about the program is how easy it is to adjust the workouts based on your current situation, whether it's walking instead of running or using lighter weights, allowing me to participate fully regardless of my abilities on a given day. Scheduling based on changing week has made it easy not to miss a workout. Orange theory charged me twice for not attending trial class. They need to understand that their customer are parents and may be they get something unexpected. I think they are lacking empathy here and trying to just earn money. They will lose in long run. I was about to join there $129 program but because of this behavior I will give business to someone else. All the best!

I joined a few weeks ago and I love it! As someone who historically hasn’t been able to stick to exercise, I have consistently been going since signing up because it’s so fun. Great energy and all the coaches are wonderful. So far, so good and highly recommend!

This is my second time joining OT at this location and I regret my decision once again. I had a disappointing experience at Orange Theory Fitness due to Coach Taylor TT's behavior. During the class, she singled me out and attempted to make it seem like I lied about my distance on the microphone in front of the entire class, and said there was no way that I could achieve that and she would write me down at a way lower number (which should NOT even matter because that is not the purpose of these classes, I am not there to showcase my "numbers", I am there to keep healthy and work out). This created an unwelcoming and quite embarrassing atmosphere, as if she was trying to shame me in front of the class. Fitness spaces should be safe and encouraging. Unfortunately, this incident left me discouraged and I plan to cancel my membership once and for all. I hope the management addresses such instances to maintain a positive environment for all members as this is not the first time this specific branch creates an unwelcoming and judgmental environment.

Orangetheory without a doubt delivers a pinnacle fitness experience. I feel more vibrant and alive, with each workout serving as a testament to their commitment to "More Life". From modern info-centric equipment from the heart rate monitor, rowers, and treads, coupled by the the dedication, passion, and intensity of the coaches, thoughtfully curated playlists, and diversity of scientifically-backed classes, there is something for everybody.
Lead Coach Taylor is simply amazing, along with a whole host of other coaches at this location including Jheanelle, Tess, Amanda, Trey, (and likely more I have not have tried) each with their own unique style shared by a common goal of not only getting you proven fitness results, but creating an air of excitement and positivity while your in the process of pushing towards that all out intensity. This location in particular is so much more than just a fitness studio, it's also a community hub with a book exchange corner where members share not just fitness goals, but also interests and knowledge. It's a great way to connect with fellow fitness enthusiasts outside the workout. Not to mention, there is also a zesty bonus with fresh oranges at the reception. New studio manager Niki and lead coach Taylor are amazing! If you have not tried- be sure to check them out! My fave class schedule and coaches are Monday nights with Julia and Wednesday nights with Trey! They make it fun! Trey’s music and energy is 🤩 I started in June and have lost 30lbs total and run the fastest I ever have with their help and the amazing vibes! For someone who historically was not committed (nor interested) to physical fitness and exercise, Orange Theory has become a personal commitment I want to maintain as long as I can. I feel empowered coming here and I have fun. When I can’t make it in because of life, I miss it. The coaches are encouraging and challenging to help us see how strong and capable we actually are. The front desk is friendly and welcoming. The entire staff is personable and has created a community at OT Ashburn, I love it here!

OTF Ashburn is the place to BE! I joined OTF about 3 months ago and have visited several locations but this one is my favorite. Incredible staff and amazing coaches, you will absolutely thrive when you visit this location. I feel stronger than I have in years and feel supported by the great lineup of coaches (shout out to coaches Trey and Jaylene!) Love the community it offers and the familiarity of the staff - if you’re a regular you’re known, and if you’re new you are welcomed!

Sweet stuff. I’m talking Group sessions, Structured workouts. Hallmark of the OT, and great all-around training model — focus on getting to & staying in Orange Zone.
So, I got recommended by a friend who goes to OTF -- no idea which studio he attends but that's def a talking point imo. FNT (for next time) and all dat.
I a new member and been going for a week or two by now. I joined when they had that March promo going on. Promo sux TBH, but workout doesn't so. It's pretty solid / decent actually.
One minus, they messed up setting up my profile (adding my HR beats thingy and made a typo on my e-mail which caused there to be a dupe one or something). Also price is a minus, they charge me way too much. Like bro I'm not made of money, I'm just a poor boy trying to lose some fat here.
Lastly and a pain point of mine, none of the trainers stop you when you’re doing something flagrantly stupid. I’m talking bursting past max heart rate and hovering around 200 BPM, which is dangerous I’ve recently learned. Now I’m going to take it easy and go 6-8 max on the treadmill, but a bummer as I wish the trainers (or anyone there) would start yelling and maybe slap some sense into you when they see something like that.
Anyway, cool story of mine. I hope to stick around, I like losing calories and training weights, trainers are pretty decent, approachable and most are even nice, app is great all around no problems so far.
High ten, OTF! Up high! Heck yeah.

UPDATE (9/25/23): Updating my review to 3-stars because I’ve struggled with getting along with other members here, and I have yet to make a single acquaintance or friend here. Also, front desk people are not really kind to me and pointedly avoid my eyes at times. There is also something to be said about waitlists for a class. I booked a class last minute bc I was busy with an unavoidable chore, and spent 20 min. driving to the studio. Only to be told “don’t procrastinate, book earlier” by head coach here, in response to the fact that the 20 min. drive was a waste of my time (and gas). This response irks me as well as the fact that I decided to “stick it to them” and proceeded to last-minute book the next class more than one hour later at 7pm at the South Riding location, and attended class that day there. Seriously, waitlists at this (the Ashburn) studio are brutal and just the worst. Coaches are uncompromising and never kind to me, and other members largely ignore me as a whole. If I can make at least one acquaintance I can consider bumping up the rating to a 5-star, but honestly I don’t see that happening anytime soon, and so the rating sticks and the review stands as it is for now.
UPDATE (10/31/23): it’s gotten consistently better I feel, still have no friends at OTF and don’t really know anyone at the work outs, but there was at least one day where I felt good and everyone was nice to me. Then today, last day of Hell Week — also Halloween — I dressed up in costume, and even just two people, the coach and studio manager, commented on it. None of the members did, then again everyone’s a stranger so it’s hard to build rapport. Anyway, updating my review to 4-star to be fair because I have had a pleasant experience with Ashburn as my home studio so far.

I have been a regular gym-goer for many years. This year I joined Orangetheory in Ashburn. I am still in awe. Everyday I go, I leave the class exhausted but exhilarated. The classes are always challenging, the coaches and front desk staff are amazing, and the one hour time commitment easy to squeeze in to my day. I can’t say enough good things about Orangetheory in Ashburn but I liked it so much, my husband joined!

I love this location! I am a new member who travels to other locations out of convenience. This location is the best.
If I'd gone to any of the other gyms to take my first class I wouldn't have signed up. The head coach Mary is motivating and awesome. Esther is great and super helpful. The receptionist are always friendly and welcoming. I can't say the same for the other locations, I've visited. If you want a great atmosphere to try Orange Theory or take classes this is the best location.

I love the structure and organization around the workout, and the help from the instructor who wants you to do it correctly and well. The workouts are challenging, and have been really mixed up, which is great. I also think that while I enjoy running and working out on my own, there is more "push" from the instructor-led workouts, and being in the group. So far, I'm getting over 800+ calories burned per workout, and I'm starting to lose weight and feel stronger. Lastly, I've learned new exercises that I can do on my own - so I'm pretty excited about that as well.

I appreciate how the workout changes each day and hits different muscle groups or types of cardio. I also enjoy that the workout is already set and driven by a coach, I do not have to come in and figure out what to do to accomplish that, it is already done for me. Finally I love that based on the structure it is like having a private coach / workout but in a group setting. Since it is a class you get the community and comradery of working out together while at the same time getting the benefit of a personalized workout because you tailor the speeds, inclines, weights, etc. to your personal preferences.

OTF has been a consistent workout for me since 2018. It’s been the fist workout to really stick. Each class workout is different so I get variety but the class template is the same so I know what to expect. OTF is the first workout class/studio that has successfully motivated me to want to keep coming back. I leave classes feeling amazing and motivated. The work outs are challenging enough to leave you feeling proud of how many calories you’ve burned/ how hard you’ve worked, but not so challenging that you are discouraged to come back. The coaches are motivating and there are plenty of classes offered to fit your schedule. I love the splat points system, and love that there is an app to track all your progress and work outs, it is inspiring. I have already lost some weight since joining. I would definitely recommend joining to anyone who is interested. And although some people may think it’s too pricey, I believe that your health is priceless, and to me, it is worth it.

Great Place to work and have fun! This is not your average LA fitness or even planet fitness. Ashburn OTF has great coaches, I would recommend taking Jheanelle for an A+ great workout. Jheanelle has a contagious smile and will push you to your limit. The front desk receptionist are very helpful as well. The best thing about all OTF locations is that you can see them all from 5000 FT.

I've been coming to Orange Theory in Ashbrook Commons for a year and a half, and I can say this has been the best gym/studio experience. I've tried other popular studios and workout formats and didn't feel like I got the same results or the workouts became repetitive. Here, you get the same format but no class is ever alike, and all the coaches are super friendly and helpful. They're always willing to answer questions regarding fitness, nutrition and overall progress and ways to improve if thats what you're looking for.

OTC is fantastic. It’s like having a personal trainer without paying big money. The coaches are amazing and you definitely know you’ve worked out when you walk out the door. I’ve notice a huge difference in the way I look and feel in just two months. I can’t stand big gyms and never got much out of them. I needed direction and going to OTC has provided me with just that.
