The staff seems friendly and the machines, though not as many as I would like are well maintained. Depending on the time of day you come you may have to pay for parking being they don't have their own parking lot or garage. My only real complaint is the men's bathroom. They do not clean them as often as they should. This isna public gym that operates 24 hours. Therefore, bathrooms should be checked every hour and cleaned at least every 3 hours.

First and foremost, the staff here is absolutely outstanding-always kind, approachable, and incredibly helpful. It’s genuinely comforting to know that I can turn to them for guidance or support whenever needed. The gym itself is well-maintained and overall a great environment.
My only concern is the inconsistency regarding the ‘no bags on the floor’ policy. It appears to be enforced selectively, as I often notice duffle bags left out without issue. Aside from that, it’s definitely a great place to work out.

“Shift lead” tried to enforce a policy that is not defined in the club policies. Policy states “no open toed shoes or sandals”. No where in the policy does it say “athletic shoes required” or “sneakers required”. As well, no where does it state members are not permitted to remove shoes when lift weights. If Planet fitness wants to enforce these rules, they must be written out in their policies. Very unprofessional attitude when trying to tell me I was not following “policy”

On 12/16 visiting from Rhode Island this location I expected better. First treadmill I hopped in was rickety and clanked. Hopped on a second treadmill next to it and when I was at 15% incline the entire machine swayed side to side, hopped on the third treadmill and after my workout the machine failed to resume to a 0% incline and was stuck. The black card spa was even worse. Massage chair #4 sounded rusty, the air compression didn’t work and the right side massages harder than the left side. Lastly, only ONE equipment cleaning station was stocked with paper towels. Five other stations had no paper towels. One sink in the men’s room didn’t work and one hand dryer was out of service. Thankful to return to my Middletown, RI Planet Fitness.

Annadaire was so kind and patient. She walked me through the offerings, focus on my goals and gave recommendations. I actually unsure if PF had enough for me to achieve my fitness goals, but she highlighted fitness classes that I could take and the machines. The gym was clean, I walked around- although I see a bunch of complaints- I will give an update in a few months. My previous membership was with Orange Theory, which was just too intense for me. I'm just looking to get tone and more in shape- not lose weight. So this might be enough for me.

This facility is actually one of the nicer Planet Fitness gyms I’ve gone to. I recently joined here just for tanning after canceling a more expensive tanning boutique membership. The beds that they use here are the same beds that are one of the top-tier memberships at the tanning boutique I used to go to and for just $25 a month you really can’t beat this.

I do have another gym that I go to in the area, but the cleanliness and overall atmosphere of this gym makes it a great facility to go to when I can’t get to my other gym that is a bit further away.

DO NOT go to this gym. I have been a client since the first month they opened until today. We need to clarify that I barely go to the gym because I have been living overseas instead of in Virginia for the last two years, and I was paying $25 monthly to access the gym.

Everything was good until Laura (an employee) arrived. She started to pick on me for small things like turning off the video you were watching and telling me to stop dropping the weight (even though I was not doing it); I did not say a word because I did not want to create a situation.

Last October, she came to me twice telling me to stop dropping the weights until I got mad and stopped her and let her know I was not the one dropping the weights and she needed to verify first who was the one doing it so she could approach people. After that situation, I wanted to talk to management, but they were unavailable.

TODAY, I was lifting weights, and Laura came to me; the only thing I have for you is that you put your jacket on the locker. My coat was folded on my space, and the gym was almost empty, so I went to the counter and asked to cancel my account. The manager asked why I wanted to cancel my account; I told her since Laura started to work here, she had been picking on me, and I was done. Laura started to laugh (Like I did it), and management did not care about me being a customer for almost three years and barely going to that gym.

I don't know if it is profiling, racism, or xenophobia, but I will highly recommend you don't go to this gym and visit another place where they can treat you with respect.

So disappointed. Lexi the manager makes it feel like a prison. She’s extremely unprofessional. She harasses about every little thing. Then when I speak up she threaten to take away my membership. There’s tons of machines to use, the price is very good, especially if you’re like me and can’t commit to the gym enough to justify like 50-100 dollars but 10/month is perfect!

The staff is friendly, the gym is kept very clean. People have always been respectful in my experience. If you have the black fitness membership, the “relaxation” area is very good. The massage chairs help so much after a good workout.

Locker room/bathrooms are extremely clean, there’s plenty of lockers inside and there’s lockers outside for small items and you don’t need to bring your own padlock for them.

Given the area we live in, it can get crowded, but the ‘crowd meter’ on the app lets you know how many people you will have to navigate around before you arrive. I wanted to share an experience my husband and I recently had at the Arlington Pentagon Row center. We have been proud members of the Planet Fitness community for the past four years. However, during our last visit, we encountered an incident that left us feeling quite disheartened, primarily due to the way it was handled by the staff.

Here's a brief overview of the issue: On a Saturday afternoon, my husband and I were working out in the weights area. It was not crowded, and there were plenty of available benches. We were using two benches next to each other for our respective workouts when another member, who was using the same bench behind us on a smith machine, left his spot and approached us. He asked if we were using both benches, to which we replied affirmatively. Unfortunately, this individual proceeded to use offensive language, calling my husband an offensive name simply because he wanted the benches we were using.

Naturally, we were taken aback by this unprovoked confrontation. We attempted to reason with him, pointing out that there were other available benches he could use. In response, he used even more offensive language. In the face of this bullying behavior, we felt compelled to respond in kind, which seemed to surprise the aggressor.

Subsequently, my husband decided to involve the staff to prevent the situation from escalating further. This is where the unfortunate part began:

The staff appeared unsure of how to handle the situation.
They called over another staff member (whose name we won't mention), who seemingly ignored our perspective. Instead, he listened to the aggressor's fabricated version of events, conveniently omitting his use of abusive language and his attempt to acquire the same bench we were using.
The staff's proposed solution was for us (Me and My Husband) was to politely ask the aggressor to use other benches. While we were more than willing to accommodate, this request hinged he had asked us on mutual respect and courtesy, which were evidently absent in this case.
Not only was this individual a bully, but he also displayed sexist behavior. When my husband reported the issue to the staff, he was met with derogatory comments like, "You went crying like a little girl." Furthermore, when I responded to his abusive language with similar language, he criticized me for "not displaying ladylike behavior."

Respect and collaborative solutions should be a two-way street. What troubles us most is that the staff seemed disinterested in hearing our side of the story. Their lack of empathy and understanding was quite disheartening.

While we understand that resolving such situations can be challenging, we believe that a fair and unbiased approach is crucial. We share this experience not with expectations of immediate action but with the hope that it serves as constructive feedback. We value our membership at Planet Fitness and believe in the principles of respect and inclusivity that an should organization stand for.

Lousy programming on the television. I have no problem with reality television amd sports galore, but would it hurt to also have Bloomberg News, MSNBC, CNN, and even Fox? Maybe just Bloomberg and CNN? So update: they did add CNN and Fox for a bit of time, but now the management has decided that people don’t want to be informed by news stations. So what do they have? Cartoons, sports, soap operas. Unlike Planet Fitnesses in Maine, Puerto Rico, New York, New Jersey, and other states, the regional franchise management doesn’t think that news stations are important to their clients.

I recently signed up for membership and when I visited Pentagon City location I scanned my QR code then a lady works there called me out in a rude and yelling manner because I didn't have a profile picture. I was annoyed and upset, as I felt her behavior was unprofessional and rude. In my opinion, if this kind of attitude is not addressed, it could result in customers either switching locations or canceling their membership.

I found the equipment in this gym well maintained and the operational hours were good but why I rate it so low is because one sunday morning whilst training I placed my car keys, wallet and a few personal items in the locker room and locked my locker only to find somebody broke into my locker and stole everything. When I complained to the front desk they were not helpful at all and generally just didn't care. Therefore I wouldn't recommend a place that doesn't help their customers.

Most of the people here must go during the day. I only picked up a membership because I work late hours and the 24 hr gym appealed to me. The staff, at least when I go, do not strictly enforce check-in, making the activity tracker on the app useless. I went when it was showing 2/10 crowd and the place was so packed there were lines to use machines in the weight area. Jumping off this issue is the fact that this place becomes a homeless shelter at night, with hobos literally passed out on machines and in corners. Why do I even pay if I can just walk right in? The water filter on the fountain has been red for weeks now. The staff during the afternoon are great and seem to be on top of keeping the equipment clean, unfortunately I don't normally get to go at that time.

Staff are nice, facilities are clean, but for a serious workout, it's difficult to justify this place. It's 80% cardio, 10% iso machines, 5% other machines, 4%free weights (dumbbells really), and 1% other (tanning beds and that sort of thing.

I joined looking for iso machines and since it's next door I figured I'd try it but after two trips, I realized they didn't actually have many options. They have two of most iso machines which really cuts into their quantity of different isos. It's like 2 or 3 for arms, legs and upper body. Honestly I can and do get better isos using weights at home and apartment gym.

This is a personal thing, so don't let it discourage you on YOUR fitness journey. It's a great place to start and even sub some workouts. Personally I like variety and unfortunately this does not fit my preference.

I've had a Planet Fitness membership for about 2 months now and for the most part, I'm enjoying it. However, I do have one major critique. PF claims to be a "no judgment zone" where people of all sizes and levels of fitness can come to work out. I'm a large woman, and no one has ever been anything but respectful to me while I'm there. But that doesn't mean I don't experience issues at the gym due to my size. First of all, at this location, there are chairs near the entrance, and none of them are chairs fat people can comfortably sit in. They're all very light, unsturdy chairs with arms, so me and my big hips barely squeeze in. There are also a number of machines I can't use due to my size because I can't adjust certain parts of the machine. For example, there's a version of the triceps press machine where you can't rotate the handles to the "wide" position, so people with large hips will have a hard time sitting on it. I also haven't figured out how to widen the torso rotation machine so that both my thighs will fit on it at the same time. Anyway, just some things to keep in mind if you're a fat person looking to make the most of your experience here.

Other than the friendly staff and new location there is nothing good to say. The space is small so, even by pre covid standards, equipment is on top of each other. No open space for floor excercise, the functional training area is jammed with equipment. They need 50% more space just to accommodate what's in here. Not sure how this place passed code. Good, clean gym, typical pf. The only thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is the lack of dual pulley cables. It’s priority in my workout routine and for the life of me I don’t know why they don’t have one. It’s a common piece of equipment and every other gym has one!

Had a good time here, until a worker rudely told me I wasn’t allowed to come back wearing a tank top. So tired of being sexualized everywhere I go and I thought the gym was somewhere i could be safe from all that but I guess not. I will not be coming back.

Place is well kept and equipment is top notch. My only complaint, is when I came here on a Saturday morning at 5. There were two staff members working who I can only say was having their own concert. I could hear the music over my headphones which was some of the most obscene music I've heard. This is still a business and not everyone would appreciate so much profanity and vulgur music this early in the morning. You are at work not home.

Small, but clean and friendly planet fitness. I was able to shadow box without any judgment, and get into the gym without too much trouble, even if I am a gu out of state

Friendly staff who is always positive and welcoming. They help create a nice sense of community by actually trying to be your friend and start conversations. I know for many whom are new to the gym, that can be a major benefit as it creates a less threatening atmosphere. I like that all of the equipment is brand new too.

Gym is nice and pretty clean. Good airflow from the ceiling fans. The only real problem is that there really isn’t anywhere to park your car for longer than an hour.

Someone broke into my locked locker and stole my stuff. Good thing I didn't have my wallet in there. They have signs up about them not being responsible for any lost or stolen property. Well now I know why! They should stop selling locks and eliminate the locker system all together. I'm out of there now, shopping around for a better place.

I had a great experience while I was at this gym. There’s a lot of equipment, it’s very clean, and I looked forward to going every day!

I moved a few months ago, and am having a really hard time getting in contact with a member of the team now. I cancelled my membership but am still being charged each month. I’ve emailed the PF email, gone to a different location in person, and called the gym but can only get an automated response which isn’t able to assist.

Fine unless you need to drive there and can only park for 1hr free but can you do a full workout in under an hr? Don’t forget you need to park about 10 min away so subtract 15 min from your workout. Fine for once I am beginning and starting to get in shape again…once in shape I need 90 min minimum…guess I’ll move to golds gym or a different location…lame….I guess the good news is the gym will never be too busy for long…I guess it is on purpose for a faster rotation?

Although a very nice facility; I felt discriminated and profiled. Today, a young lady approached me while on the elliptical, "I have a problem with your shirt, it shows too much chest!" My shirt was a basic tank not a muscle/stringer tee. At this time I had my weighted belt on, which bunch up my shirt. The approach alone could have been better, simply asking me to adjust my shirt and belt would of been appropriate.
My response, was "I will just leave and cancel my membership." As I walked to the locker room to gather my items, a young white girl on the stairmaster dressed in high-waisted upper thigh length shorts and a crop/sport bra was working out. Another lady with tight leggings displaying her "lady print" walked around.
I understand policies, yet allow your policies to be universal and applied to everyone.

I absolutely love this fitness center! I have to give a special shout out to Noa, who greets me by name with a smile every time I come in. She answered my questions and showed me around when I was getting used to my new membership. She still reminds me to let he know if I need anything. The gym is spotless, which is important during these crazy Covid times. Great staff - Great Facilities - I look forward to my workouts. I highly recommend PF, Pentagon City!
