It has nice equipment and good staff. The main downside is there’s not enough muscle group targeting machines and there’s a cancellation fee of 60$. You should just be able to cancel whenever considering you pay them anywhere from 15 a month to 25. Costing 300$ a year with a black card (including the annual fee). And a lot of the time people going here use multiple machines at once making it harder to work out in a routine. Would go here as a starter but if you plan on actually trying to body build go somewhere else.

The staff is friendly and has always made conversation with me. SHOUTOUT TO DAVID IN THE AFTERNOONS. The manager is involved in all operations and not just sitting in an office doing nothing. The machines are not crammed in a way that doesn't make sense and instead are organized in an effective way. The gym stays clean as well. It's also a good community of people, and many people in the mornings will have a friendly conversation.

Went to Danville Planet Fitness this morning, have not been in a while. I was approached by employee told me I have exceeded my 10 times allowance for visit, it wears on the equipment. I am a member of Eden PF, had to go to Danville today, so I decided to just go there in Danville Va. I was told there is a policy in fine print that only allowed 10 time visit to a planted Fitness that is not your home PF. Beware joining a PF thinking you can go to any PF when you want. I have been to several PF in different areas. This is the first I have heard of such policy the lady in Danville, VA wanted to make sure was not violated. She did tell me since I was there today was fine. The distaste would make me not want to go back to Danville, Va Planet Fitness.

Equipment needs serious maintenance. Staff is very friendly. Very spacious gym.

Update a month later: the same equipment that needed maintenance a month ago, still broke. We pay an extra 15 a month to have access to the spa area, but some of the equipment is inaccessible due to being out of order. I spoke with associates today about my concern and they stated that everyone knows about the equipment being broken. Even up the chain to the regional level. I will update again in another month to see if accessibility improves.

Wow. Went here 8 days ago as I was traveling for work & a black card member. Right when I walked in the receptionist was coughing in my face. I paid no mind since she apologized, but now I’ve had strep throat since that day. Please, if your workers are sick, at least make them wear a face mask. Nice facility, just inconsiderate workers. She literally looked like she was half alive as well. If you have a member of your team clearly incapable of working, send her home. Now your customers have to pay the cost. But still a nice gym & layout.

Petty rules.. like no wearing jeans and boots.. not 24/7 anymore.. and ran by a bunch of rotating preppy college kids just trying to make a buck. One of the cleanest and most organized Planet Fitness I have been to in a while. If this had been a random audit, this location would have scored extremely well. Staff was welcoming and friendly. Desk didn't lack staff for any time longer than a minute here or there.

The only complaint is when I came in Saturday at noon, the gym floor temperature was around 73-75, with the Big A fans going full speed. So it was tolerable in cardio theater, but a sweat box in the machine and weight area. When I came in Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. it was about 65 with the fans turned down. From my experience, 68-70 degrees, with fans at 40-50%, provide an equally comfortable environment for all gym floor areas. Staff may need long sleeves to be comfortable for long periods, however.

I feel definitely singled out by certain employees when I come here esp the Hispanic girl who works on weekends and mornings she stares us down and looks at us like why are you here!!!! I can come and utilize whatever part of the gym I want to!!! I pay membership and I’m sick of the bipartisanship here!!! They treat you very indifferent because if you decide to just use the showers and not work out that’s your business, if I want to work out I will, what do anyone has to do with it? You supposed to treat everyone one the same and they don’t I feel indifferent and I’m tired of I’ll be speaking with a lawyer for advice this has gone to far!!!! You should be cleaning in showers and the changing room instead of sizing everything and everyone who comes in the gym when the bathrooms been disgusting daily almost we have to say ummm can you clean please clean so I’m speaking up because the systemic racism going to have to stop!!!! Been going there over a year now the entire staff are always friendly, helpful, courteous and the entire gym is always clean and well stocked with cleaning supplies.There is one thing that needs some serious attention...the hydro massage beds .. sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.. there is one leaking water and the other doesn't do that good of a job .if that could have some attention it would be greatly appreciated .

My Planet Fitness was newly remodeled. It has all new machines. They are wider and easier for a larger person to use and on behave of all of the 250 + pounds people, I thank you. Kind of what's to be expected from a planet fitness. Also, when they say spa they mean tanning bed and massage chairs. There's no sauna or steam room.
Me and my husband came in to take a tour, just to get the lay of the land. Having already decided that's where we're going to go, for a convenience sake. After taking the tour, we had a couple other things to do that day. So I want to get a real quick workout in and then sign up for our membership when we got home.
I was told we were not allowed a free day unless we sign up for a membership. After sitting down to sign up and downloading their app. On their app it advertised one free day. So it was kind of annoying that I got told that I couldn't work out for one day, wether I had planned to sing up or not. When they advertise a free day.
Long and short, my husband picked it so we're there. Though I've never took a tour at a gym and was told I couldn't workout for a that day. Really annoying but I don't blame the gym, just staffing.

Jessie rodgers was absolutely phenomenal and helping me and my friend be able to come in and sign in under my black card membership and allow him to work out as a guest with me she went above and beyond to ensure that we feel comfortable in that situation and had everything that we needed and even offered to help us have someone walk us through the training process or have a personal trainer help us along the way she should absolutely be considered for upper management if she already hasn’t been.

Well, the tanning beds are gross. They could really use some actual cleaning and an upgrade.
The gym is pretty cool though. It's very much a do at your own pace and own thing, which is nice. Never had anyone look at me like I was crazy when I was learning a new machine. Lots of room and lots of equipment.

But please please update the tanning beds. One of the beds has cracked glass and there was a lot of hair stuck in it. The stand up one is also very much a bacterial housing unit. That foot mat is supposed to be blue, it's full of black stuff. I tried to clean it before using it, but i just put a paper towel down because it was that dirty. Thank you!

I loved it!!!! I had such a great time there. I didn’t feel out of place or like I wasn’t “fit” enough to be in the gym…. The equipment was top notch, the bathroom/changing facilities was impressive to say the least, staff was super friendly and personable. Open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. The weekends are usually slow so if you want to go without a crowd, that is the time. Even during their busy times, I don’t have to sit around and wait to use a piece of equipment, as they have multiples of each. The benches over by the dumbbells stays active, but people do their thing and move on. Clean and organized facility. Many options to choose from and good filtered water for the refills. The massage chairs are nice too. I find myself in there for several hours because I enjoy the atmosphere with the tvs and music.

I go almost every day. It's perfect for my needs. It's never crowded and if it was they would let me know by the crowd meter right on my app. I love the app it has so many workout ideas so I can even continue my workout at home. The staff is always friendly. Gym stays clean, the regulars at the gym are so friendly and respectful. I've never seen a rude person and planet fitness discourages that type of behavior. Tried to cancel my membership and they refused. Said I had the write them a letter or come in during the worst part of the pandemic. I refuse due to covid to go in and they continued to take my money and I'm sure everyone else is who couldn't get there to cancel.
