HORRIBLE. Worst gym ever. It's basically just a place for cardio. Maybe 12 machines and a few are just doubles. The pull up assist machine is hands down the worst. So small you can't even get a pull up in. Staff was very nice. That's the second star. If I go it would be to just run so I don't have to drive to Chantilly.

I have a Black (Gold) membership at this gym, and unfortunately, I had a very bad experience. Someone broke my locker and took my belongings. The staff returned my items with the lock broken in two pieces, and the worst part was that my clothes were given back to me in a bag mixed with other people’s underwear! This is completely unacceptable. I will not stay silent or accept this humiliation, and I expect proper compensation for this mess. I strongly urge the management to take immediate action regarding locker security,
cleanliness, and member privacy.

I already sent an email to the address you provided, and it has been two days with no response from anyone. This is another disgrace and shows a lack of respect for your members.

I need to report the ongoing issue with the hot water. Almost every morning, I turn on my shower and wait for the water to heat up, but sometimes it doesn't. This has been a recurring problem for several months now, and it's making it difficult to get ready for work. l've complained about this multiple times, and I know others have as well, but the issue has not been resolved. Lately Planet Fitness changed their TV lineup. They deleted Fox News but kept CNN which is unfair. A very nice employee turned on Fox News for me on TV 11, but none of the audio works on the treadmills from 8 through the top number. Put Fox News back on TV number 3 along with HGTV and Animal planet. I used to enjoy coming here but now I am very upset. BTW I am a Black card member paying extra and getting less..

Unfortunately, I couldn't stay more than 20mins due to how hot it was. It smelled very musky too. The smell hit me hard, as soon as I walked in. It was hard to breathe, so I left. I've been a member of the franchise for 8 months. My usual one is in South Manassas. Excellent gym! I also visit one in North Manassas. Older gym but very nice. Neither have ever had any sort of smell. This was my first visit to this one in Fairfax. All four paper towel dispensers were completely empty and the last one was broken. So, no way to keep the equipment as clean as in the other venues. No decernible working AC. There was an older woman with gloves on behind the reception desk. I guess she was cold? 2:20pm on Wednesday, July 2nd.

Update: until they fix or operate their A/C properly, I will have to look elsewhere, I am sure their insurance company would not appreciate the risks caused by unsafe temps and humidity.

I have used 5 different PF locations in Fairfax area, and this one is my favorite. Starting with the easiest parking. Staff actually say hello. Diversity of ages and cultures represented. Very calm and friendly atmosphere in the gym, not too many "groups" clogging up the spaces with their immaturity. Clean. On my wish list are later weekend night hours especially Friday. Oh and please tune a few more TVs to ESPN rather than talking heads... there is enough of them there is not much reason not to. And occasionally they are stingy with the A/C. need to bring some pressing concerns about this gym location to your attention.

My primary issue is the overcrowding and misuse of the men's bathroom by high school students. Given the gym's proximity to Chantilly High School, it seems many students are using the facilities not just to change, but to congregate, monopolizing mirrors, and even engaging in photography and videography. This makes it incredibly difficult and uncomfortable for me to access changing space.

My second concern involves homeless individuals using the bathroom showers for laundry. They are washing clothes, setting up drying areas with chairs, and even using the hand dryers to dry their items. This is unsanitary and inappropriate for a gym environment.

It is imperative that gym management implements and enforces clear policies regarding bathroom usage to address these issues. If these problems persist, I will be forced to cancel my membership and seek a more suitable gym experience at a facility like Gold's Gym or Anytime Fitness.

Overall, this facility off of Hoadly Road in Manassas, VA is great!

However, each time I've been, I've had to inform the associates that the WOMENS LOCKER ROOM NEEDED ATTENTION regarding CLEANING.

This should automatically be done throughout the day and night, particularly after 'busy times', such as the Morning/A.M. rush, before people go to work Afternoon/Lunch rush, before people get there for an after work, workout and after the Evening/Afterwork rush.

I'm happy to say the associates do address the Women's Locker Room, after I mention it needs attention, but it would be great to not have to mention it, at all, each time I come to the facility.

They also do an Excellent job of keeping the Workout area clean, including periodic stopping use of equipment to clean them underneath, inside and outside.

There's also an associate who peruses, regularly in the workout area to wipe down equipment and throw away, possible things left on the equipment from a previous user.

The gym looks clean but I want to highlight something that I find disgusting, it is a very delicate subject here in the United States and it is the bad smell in the armpits, many people in the country of India do not use deodorant in their armpits, at certain times, the gym stinks, it makes you want to vomit 🤮 it makes you want to run away from the gym. I am a very clean and neat woman, for nothing in the world would I make another person smell bad, I would be very embarrassed if another human being had to endure and feel my bad smell, this is very unpleasant!!! The solution is easy and simple, make a campaign for the proper use of deodorant before going to train at the gym, the gym has every right to put up with some kind of advertising so that people become aware that deodorant is essential and it is also a kind and simple way of respecting other people who do use deodorant and want to go to the gym to enjoy it to the fullest.

This gym is definitely one of the cleanest. I for one can’t stand to see when there are tissues and misc. stuff just sitting around. Here they definitely are more diligent about making their rounds and keeping it tidy. Plenty of equipment and has everything I need plus some more. The staff is so kind and inviting. More than I’ve seen in other gyms around the area. Definitely, I see myself going long term here even if i have another PF closer to me in the future.

Recent management change has not been positive. The new manager (Amelia) is not friendly, not sure she has even acknowledged me when I come in, almost daily.
She is often looking down or on her phone. The new staff she has brought with her are also lacking in hospitality.
This is disappointing! 👎🏻

However, Anthony is always a shining star at this gym! 😁 Always friendly and genuinely so. He’s terrific! A few others are also friendly but they are from the previous management.

One positive note, is that they are now playing Fox News in addition to CNN . This is a very nice change.

I have been going to this gym for 3 years. I have been taking a guest with me the entire time with the use of my black card membership. I have done everything required for my guest and have not had an issue with bringing her in in over 6 months.
I truly believe today we were singled out for our color of skin and made to do extra work to get my member in. We were completely willing to do the work but the associate just kept arguing with us threatening to call the police even.
As this is going on numerous guests all of different colors of skin are walking right in without even signing in.
This is definitely not a judgment free zone. They choose who they want to judge based on appearance.
Very sad and very disappointing as I have lots of friends at this gym and have never had a problem in the 3 years I have been going.

This was my first visit to this location, and boy was it a dreamy location compared to the last one I went to! This review is for this location, but is also a slight comparison to what I've been used to for the past year or so.

As soon as we walked in, there were 4-5 staff members standing at the counter. I can't remember how many of them actually greeted us. One came up to us and helped, as I was coming as a guest since this isn't my "home" location.

There were almost double the cardio equipment and the weight machines were strategically placed in an organized way. I think I only counted one machine that was out of order--which seems indicative that they maintain the equipment and/or repair in a timely manner if broken. The equipment was all properly placed, especially in the room with bosu balls, kettle bells, etc. Either the members take the time to put equipment back, or the staff maintain it well.

I didn't get a chance to take many pictures/videos because 1) I was busy working out and 2) there were too many people and out of respect, I didn't photograph them.

I visited this location after being disappointed with an initial walk through of the PF in Fairfax (above Aldi). I immediately fell in love! The Black Card area feels very high end compared to other PFs around the country. I was sold on my new home gym.

Its a gym. It has pretty standard gym problems. Broken equipment that takes forever to be fixed and a ton of people after 5 which prolongs your workout. The thing that seems to be a little more specific to this gym is the teenagers. Little packs of kids hovering around machines talking, taking up lots of time barely using the equipment, and never whiping down the equipment afterwords. Does Chantilly High have some kind of deal with this PF? Dont bother saying anything to staff they are also teenagers and they are chilling behind the front desk gossiping. I would recommend a different PF or gym unless you want to hangout at the daycare which is the greenbriar pf.

Tonight was my first time at this location, which is near my house, but I have major reservations on coming back. It's nice and clean, and the staff was friendly, but it lacks major personality. My wife and I have been coming to this gym every morning since it opened. We typically just use the elliptical and few machines. We find this gym and bathrooms always clean. It’s been a month since I have been going to this gym, they have friendly staff, a place to shower after workouts, mirrors for workouts, and even if any machine breaks down there is still other machines available to use, they also have great messages to motivate people to be at the gym, they even have cleaning spray and tissues to clean machines, only one thing is that it doesn’t have a water fountain.

I was charged for an additional annual and late fee within 4 months of joining. Only went to one location and since the original location was different than the one closest I’m unable to change any preferences and there’s no acting manager. So I’m basically screwed until Monday and staff was less than happy to help.

Listen- I’m paying to be here. I don’t deserve to be charged late fees and extra annual fees and I certainly don’t appreciate the attitude of - not my problem. Now it is a problem

Ive never had an issue with staff, most are pleasant and answer any questions when needed and keep the gym clean as possible.
Most people are respectful wiping down the equipment they used when done using.
The issue ive been noticing is people using the 30min room without following the steps or wiping down the equipment and cutting people off on the next machine. Which can screw up someones workout.
People arnt using the lockers provided for coats/sweatshirts/jackets and bags. Instead they hang their stuff on equipment.
I wish the 30min room was watched alittle more but i get it how can you tell a grouchy old man hes doing his workout wrong and being inconsiderate with gym etiquettesy

You used to be greeted at the front desk when you came in and also were greeted out of the gym.
Now you come in to girls / guys just sitting on top of the main desk talking to what seems to be the “supervisor”.

It used to be that you would see almost every staff member walking around cleaning the equipment. Now you only see them talking to each other like they are at a social gathering.

Bathrooms used to be stocked and cleaned. Now they’re not even a shadow of what they used to be.

I do have to give compliments to this one employee who does go around and clean and is productive.

Other than that, I hope the owner knows his gym is not being taken care of.

**BEWARE** First PF Review (feeling properly motivated)-
I showed up at the gym 30 minutes before they were supposed to close, and the doors were locked. I have never not been able to enter any other Planet Fitness within 30 minutes of them closing. I called to ask why the doors were locked, and a girl named Jahira (I believe) said per management, they are required to close the doors 20 minutes before closing. When I told her it was locked before 6:40 because I called the gym at 6:37 after discovering the locked door and finally made it through the prompts at 6:40, as we were on the phone, she dismissed me by saying well, we're closing right now.

As a black card member, I have never felt motivated enough to write a review, despite how dirty this gym can get at times, but this location clearly can care less about its members in more than one way. Without our money, you will not have a gym. This review is not intended as a complaint but primarily as a reminder.

When you know better, you do better (hopefully).

This situation and her carefree attitude about blatantly violating a policy she says is in place shows her lack of care and consideration for the people who are the reason she has a job and the ability to lock us out when she pleases, to begin with. My experience was disappointing and unacceptable.

Constructive Advice-
Jahira needs to focus less on what she has planned AFTER WORK and more ON WORK while she's AT WORK getting paid TO WORK. Ways to do this are cleaning the women’s bathroom and locker room and refraining from locking members out when she sees fit.

Friendly Advice-
If the idea of stomaching one more guest at the gym BEFORE your policy dictates you should lock the door is too great, maybe it is time for you to find another place to work. You're welcome!

Advice to fellow members-
Go somewhere else if it is at least an hour before they close, or just go somewhere else because the customer service will be better.

First the positives. This has been a good gym; the location is great, there’s plenty of parking and it’s a large facility. The staff is very nice and helpful, especially the gentleman that works in the morning – I think his name is Andre. My problem with this location is it’s maintenance. Almost 2 weeks ago, they had an electrical outage which caused them to close the gym for a day. Today, the water fountains and bottle filling station weren’t working and I asked why and they said it was related to the outage nearly 2 weeks ago. When a piece of equipment breaks down, it takes an extraordinary long time to fix it. I inquired about this and was told that there’s only one maintenance worker for an entire region. This certainly is not optimal particularly if it’s a piece of equipment of which they only have one.

Not my regular gym location but was in town for the holidays. Large gym with huge selection of equipment. You can find ellipticals, treadmills, dumbbells, free weights, benches, universal machines etc. Clean gym, spaced out, and I met the manager (Andre) who was very helpful and informative. I’ll be sending my in-laws there for memberships.

Good place. Staff is helpful. Newer than other Planet Fitness clubs in the area. Excellent equipment but something is up...TVs have been out for weeks with no fix on the horizon. Weekend hours cut back. I've been using the Centreville club recently.

Long review, moral: Worst gym in terms of policy and customer relations.
This might seem suprising for some, but planet fitness probably has the worst policy and employees who try to sell you the membership. While selling the membership they make it look like the perfect package and no strings attached but that's not the case from a million miles until you read the ridiculous terms and conditions. They have a trap for every corner of the membership in order to get their money which they never tell you before joining for example.
You have to pay extra to down grade the membership since they have to make a new registration.
Must cancel a week before to avoid next months billing and that's for premium membership.
If u have the lower membership then you have to pay for the full year no matter what.
The employees are on another level when you ask them something regarding the policy or you want to cancel they are pretty rude with their expectations and the way they speak.
Overall avoid this place!!!!

I hate to only give it two stars because the staff is absolutely amazing and the gym is well-kept. However, I don't do ice cold showers. The hot water rarely ever works. My advice - go run the water, go workout, and by the time you return it MIGHT be lukewarm (just kidding, don't do that - that's bad for the environment). The water pressure isn't the greatest either, but I could make do with that. The freezing cold showers, I cannot!

Keep up the great work, staff! Maintenance, please replace the water heaters.

Visited yesterday for the first time. EVERY single staff member was kind and encouraging - made me feel welcome. I am a little fearful of gyms honestly, but I've signed up for a "Design your own fitness program" so that I know exactly what to do. The Black Spa benefits are so incredible, I highly recommend the Hydro Lounge. Everything was clean and shiny - I think I'm really going to like coming here!

Nice facility, not too packed. The ellipticals suck, If you're looking for an alternative to running and light knee loads, these are not the ones. You bounce up and down like a rabbit. It would be good if they at least had a few Life fitness or precor's. A gazillion matrix machines and that's it.

This gym is fairly new (i believe it opened 2022). The equipments are new and better than compared to other planet fitnesses.

Well there’s a large older Caucasian fellow at the counter he’s exceptionally rude and talks a tough game,let the reviews guide you. It’s an large empty gym that’s no happenstance the employees are spittle.

Ps: yes it’s the PF next to giant in chantilly look at the recent reviews it’s the employees they’re nasty as sin and get tough with the wrong people they need to remember what state they’re in, (that’s very dangerous).

I went to the store to cancel membership and they said they will charge me for upcoming month.they give false statements while joining and treat you differently while cancelling membership.They have fancy app and stores yet they are forcing us to come to store or we need to send document for canceling membership which is funny this way people either forget or a take time to send document and they can charge us meanwhile. When you make it simple to join why not cancelling membership?

Very clean and newer equipment. I walked around to check the layout. Sorry but this planet isn't for me. I travel a lot and hit a lot of different Planets.This is the only the second time I saw the cable machines against the side wall. I only use the mirrors on two movements to watch my form and they both are on cable machine. Bad layout, if they added mirrors to side wall it would be 5 thumbs up 👍.

The start up under the same ownership is the Westfield Location which is a bit small BUT very welcoming the staff is serving the member…and knows customer service. Today I went to buy a bottle of water and the girl and trainer behind the desk were rude. When touchless payment did not work. They wanted me to put in my whole card number on a key pad everyone could see. And we’re rude when I said no. Why can every other place make buying a bottle of water easy but at PF they make it hard. Also when I offer to pay cash for a 1.08 bottle of water. They looked at me like I was the fool and said rudely we don’t have cash. I am sad to see from a great manager and dm such rude employees.

I have to give it a two stars because every single soap dispenser has fallen off the wall and it's been like this for over a month now... someone has made a very poor attempt at putting it back up for one of the shower booth with the cheapest double sided tape you can buy. Obviously its not going to stay up. Don't understand what the difficulty is. Its apparent not enough attention is given. Usually gyms provide the best quality service during their first year. This gym just opened a few months ago. This is just poor facility management.

---Update. So, the solution to the soap dispensers falling off the wall is to get rid of the soap dispensers from all showers expect one. Very nice!!
