The gym is a good value and the employees are generally very friendly. Im personally not a big fan of some of the tanning policies and feel they will be a deal breaker for me when their competition opens up down the street. The 24 hr minimum that holds you to really only using tanning once every other day for 9 minutes of use is just silly. The eye safety requirement is upsurd also, they require their employees to verify your eye safety glasses every time. All this is very intrusive for adults that have all ready signed a waver of liability. Its just overkill.

They let homeless people in and out of this place. I was working out for 30 minutes and someone tried walking past the front and they let them go. He stayed in the locker room for a while so I grabbed my bag and put it next to me. Then they let another one in with his pants literally at his knees come in. And they’re just staring at me while I’m working out. Judgement free but definitely not safe

Just became new member today. I was just about to walk out. Manager was dry and didn't seem as if she wanted to explain the gym in detail. Good gym and the only 24 hour gym in the area. They took out a lot of their cardio equipment and replaced it with more strength equipment upstairs and downstairs. However they also got rid of a portion of their stretching area for strength equipment as well. It does suck that their no commitment membership is now $20 instead of $10 but hey it's still cheaper than all of the other gyms, so can't complain too much.

I went here today to check out the facility and possibly start a membership and the short black girl with a low cut and blonde hair was super rude. There was another guy there just looking. 👀 felt like my questions were frustrating them and they all had a very unwillingness to talk and assist me. I then left my Drivers license after I decided this was not going to be a good fit for me since I could not get help. I called and asked if it was there and they said no. I drove back and it was directly at the front counter so she clearly did not look for it. New staff is needed. When a person walks in the way they are greeted and treated sets the tone. This facility is not it!

This is the worst planet fitness I've ever been to! Most of the employees are rude, stare at their phone and don't even acknowledge you when you walk in, the tanning bed rooms are extremely hot. So hot that I can't even stay in there the full 9 minutes because I get overheated and need to sit down. I almost passed out in there. Had to sit there for 5 minutes before I could even get dressed. They send everyone to booth one unless that one is occupied that's the only way you have a chance at a cooler room and they have multiple tanning rooms but over use the first bed. A few times I got undressed and put my tanning lotion on then got in and come to find out they forgot to start the bed so I have to get out get dressed gather up all my stuff and go out and try to find someone to turn the thing on. Definitely frustrating when you use the 50$ bottle of tanning lotion they sell just to put your clothes right back on and it all rubs off. They also only have basic stand up beds. The other ones I've been to have stand up, lay down, and red light tanning beds. Also, the floors are filthy and I saw the same used bandaid on the floor in room one for 4 consecutive days before someone finally cleaned it up. Pretty disgusting considering you take off your shoes to go tanning and have to stand on the gross floor. Can't wait for this year to be over so I can cancel membership

First time visiting this gym in Hampton, VA. I worked out for 1.5 hrs and proceeded to shower around 12:15pm. All the showers were gross and it was obvious it hadn’t been cleaned that day. When I inquired of some cleaning products to quickly tidy up, the shift leader proceeded to inform the worker that she had not cleaned the showers as intended that morning. The worker then moved like molasses to clean as another member and myself waited to use the showers. By this time, my patience had run out. There was no urgency, no consideration, nor any acknowledgement/accountability from the employee. This is a big difference from the 4 planet fitness gyms I visited in VA Beach and Chesapeake. I’d suggest people visit elsewhere, as this one isn’t friendly per se, and incredibly small and crowded.

I'm visiting this location for the first time. The workout was fine, it was very clean. Their computer system for signing in to use the Black Card Spa needs some work. They have you select a time slot, scan in and submit. This would not have been a problem if the system could find me as a Black Card Member, which I am. When I went back to use the massage chair, it was set for 5 minutes. Really?! 5 minutes on a massage chair, you got to be kidding. This was ridiculous! Well since I only got 5 minutes in the massage chair, I went back to request the hydro massage bed. The same problem with finding me as a Black Card Member came up and I never got to use the darn thing because the associate could not figure out how to get me started on it. And the hydro machine was only set for 8 minutes. Every other Planet Fitness I've every been to sets both of those machines at 10 minutes. I was thoroughly disappointed.

Great for the monthly price. Locker rooms are dirty and the folks that visit the gym don’t do enough to maintain their areas. Local panhandlers come in to use the showers and leave their things everywhere and keep locks on lockers. Not sure what staff can do to keep things tidy.

My biggest issue with this company is how difficult that make it to cancel a membership . I actually had full plans on using my gym membership but these days, money can be tight for time to time . Instead of a representative calling asking “hey, we haven’t seen you swipe in a month, are you still interested in using our services?” Or “are you satisfied with our gym membership experience?” No . These folks will almost immediately charge you an ENTIRE $15 late fee after your card declines 2-3x. That’s ALOT for a gym membership late fee ! Image finally getting enough money to pay a MORE PRESSING/IMPORTANT bill and you wake up and an entire $40 has been swiped from yiur account. It feels like im being robbed in my sleep! And the nerve to wait until night to CONTINUE to recharge my card and add an extra $15 on type of my monthly payment … this is diabolical and EXTREMELY discouraging from using their services . I tried to go in the store to cancel and these folks told me there is a $50 cancellation policy… a you freaking kidding me ? I CANT EVEN AFFORD TO CANCEL! All of this bc you all are literally committing highway robbery and don’t even care about how all these complaints are directly affecting your business… yeah, im going to OneLife across the street . At least they actually care about their customers experience.

I am extremely frustrated with the difficulty I’ve encountered in closing my account. It seems nearly impossible to get this resolved. I've been trying for four months, yet I continue to be charged. Each time I visit, a representative takes my information, but nothing changes. I'm consistently told that management needs to handle this, but they are rarely available, especially in the mornings when I come in. If you choose to respond to this review, please do more than just acknowledge my review and use my name and state “that my account is closed”. I want to see real action taken, as I am still being charged despite my efforts to resolve this issue.

I just changed this location to my home gym from Virginia beach. Everybody who works here has gone out of their way to provide me excellent customer service. The manager on today kachelle was a huge help when the app was acting up and I really needed a real person to help me out. My dad died and I moved back home out of state where there is no planet fitness, I called and asked to cancel my member ship and they refused. They said I can transfer to the one that is THREE HOURS AWAY which is ridiculous, I’ve explained my situation, I’m thousands of miles away from the home gym and they expect me to COME IN when I’ve already stated my situation. I’m just trying to cancel a membership to a place I no longer have access to all while trying to plan a funeral and getting no help in the right direction. Nothing bur a bunch of children working there.

Will never open another planet fitness membership. Poorly managed corporation, poorly managed facilities, and absolutely not one employee will work with you when it comes to your membership. I have been trying to cancel mine for two years, they say "we never received your cancellation letter" (pretty absurd to not receive THREE letters via mail). This policy should be changed. I currently live on the other side of the country and cannot just "go in and cancel". This needs to be confronted.

I would suggest anyone to enter the back card experience. The cleaneness of each facility is second to none. To be able to attend any facility is rather convenient. May 2024 While at the Planet Fitness for about 3 weeks
to make an long story very short: my gym female 30 minutes nap (nodding off to sleep while on the exercises meditation to quiet music on the matt) VS the gym men 5 hours to 12 hours or more sleep time in front of the windows) where anybody can see) = discrimination. They didn't want me to sleep at all.
June 12, 2024 While I visited and asked Rep can I go back to my gym. The Rep with 2 color tones in her hair one blond and other is black. The male Rep is dark skinned , 7 ft. and thin, very short hair plats agrees with her. These two people have less compassion for people that is why they couldn't understand 30 minutes of sleep. Practice good health: Sleep helps you to focus on plans, health, work, rest, recreation. etc. No sleep product weak mind, poor health, include walking and driving like a snake all over the place. Do you prefer an sound mind; or to be like an wondering snake?

This review is not just for this location. It's written to bring light to a recent situation I faced at this location. I travel for my work. When I joined unfortunately I was told I would have unlimited access to clubs due to my black card status. I have been traveling for 4 years now and have visited multiple locations. I arrived to this facility and was told I have a limit of 10 visits per month at clubs outside my home gym. After that 10th visit I would be charged 5 dollars a day over the 10. I go to the gym 5 days a week and I could actually be in a different city every week. That would mean an additional 50 bucks for me to fulfill my workouts. I was told it was up to the franchise manager whether they chose to enforce this. I just want to bring light to this for anyone who travels and has a PF Black card

So far it's always something when checking in here. I had to transfer my home club to even be able to tan as a black member. Bring your own soap there is none in the bathroom. If I could give negative stars I would!!! I'm a disabled combat veteran with bladder damage. My partner was in the process of signing us both up. I asked the EXTREMELY rude staff to use the restroom. They said no because I wasn't a member. I pointed out that we are literally signing up. They still said no. I asked if someone can escort me. No. I advised about my bladder issue. They were kind enough to point out that Kroger has public restrooms. I asked for a manager. She said she was the manager. I've never been treated so rudely or poorly in my life. I don't throw out my veteran status, I don't even ask for discounts. But I informed said manager that I lost 1/2 of my bladder in Iraq. No.

Planet fitness, it gets the job done for a low frills gym experience. It’s nice for beginners and people who know what routine they want to follow. This location is open 24/7. When I went (early November 2023) they were still in a renovation, so it looks worse than it could be. And the men’s room was not available. They had to go use trailers outback of the building.
