I find the facility to be really useful for exercise. However, I think the facility should be 24 hours so it doesn't feel like you have to prematurely end your exercise if you come here later in the day. The other PF I went to was 24/7 (I swapped due to distance), so this facility not being 24/7 is odd.

So, went to the new Planet Fitness today in Herndon to sign up based on this $1 down promotion valid until 11/27.

Spoke to Sam (who I had already spoken to on the phone a few days earlier - he is an excellent employee by the way) and when it came time to sign up he said they are no longer honoring the promotion. He said they had changed it. I asked if he could check with the manager because I had a screenshot of the ad being run on FB. He called his supervisor, Daniel, and I was told there was nothing he could do. Daniel was a little flippant and wasn’t aware of laws regarding truth in advertising when asked.

It’s not about the money because it’s literally the difference of about $11. It’s the principle.

If this is how they are before you even become a member, I cannot imagine after.

They refuse to turn hot water up. You get 2 mins of luke warm and then its ice cold even when the place is empty. So asinine.

Came here twice… drove 25 minutes both times to this location just for the hot water to not be working. Manager called me when it was working again… came back… still not working. It’s a very slight Luke warm setting. Someone needs to put temperature control to a hotter setting. It’s been a couple of weeks! Ridiculous!

Finally a PF in Herndon close to where I live, since it was a bit of a driving to get to the nearest one. And I honestly don't get why the negative reviews already on a brand new facility with brand new equipments and a nice layout. This location was never intended to be 24hr in first place.
They do need to announce that this location is already open though since it's still very empty and I only found out that it was opened because I drove by going to the brand new Lidl next to it.

Planet Fitness – Herndon, VA (Opened 10/29/2025)

I visited the Herndon Planet Fitness on opening day, and the facility was impressively clean and well-organized. The gym features two convenient self-service kiosks near the entrance for purchasing items like drinks, locks, and headphones.

This location is on the smaller side compared to other nearby Planet Fitness gyms, but it makes excellent use of its space. All of the equipment is new, and the cardio equipment is Apple Watch compatible. There’s a solid mix of treadmills, cardio machines, and strength training equipment (including squat racks), which is a major plus. I can see it getting very busy during peak hours once membership becomes established.

Overall, it’s a solid new addition to the area. It’s smaller than the Sterling location and has tighter parking, but the amenities feel newer and more polished than the one in Chantilly.
