One of the worst PFs I've been to. A lot of the equipment is very old, rusty, squeaky. It is pretty quiet in the morning which I appreciate, and the music is great compared to other gyms (including other PFs I've been a regular at), and this is important to me, so definitely an extra star there.

When I heard the gym was getting new equipment I was pretty excited. They did get some new equipment, but a lot of the old and broken stuff is still old and broken. MOST IMPORTANTLY, they removed the clock for no reason at all (update below on this). Now the only source of time is hoping one of the TVs showing the news in them middle of the gym has the time on it. I asked at the front desk, and was told it was permanently removed... bizarre. They also removed all of the hand sanitizer stations at the entrance, which is terrible timing given that we're going into cold & flu season. ***
I still love PF, and this gym could be great with just a little bit of effort - like a clock, and have someone put some grease on the equipment. Hopefully someone reads this.

*Update* seems they took it to heart and have added a clock. Still no hand sanitizer but getting a clock back makes a big difference. Added a star back.

So I been with this place for over 3+ years never have I had an problem with no one. So my son and I open an account years ago remind you back then we was told to go into the facility face to face to take his name off and put my name on because he stop going. So we did that for years after I been charged my regular rate and before they hit me twice and corrected but never said nothing about having 2 accounts and I didn't have 2 accounts. So fast forward yrs later I called to ask why was I charged 2xs and the employee that I was talking to talked with attitude and loud and even when I tried to explain the issue he kept say you have two accounts and I said no I don't so he says his manager will call me and he did not say have a good day it will be resolved or no worries we will take care of it no nothing and SLAM THE PHONE AND HUNG UP ON ME, so as a customer I called back and said he was wrong rude and disrespectful because the proper way was to say bye have a good day or something not hang up the phone. So today I get a call from a manager telling me again I have 2 accounts and I tried to explain the issue again to him and nope he didn't want to listen and understand me as well he was giving me attitude and being rude and got mad at me because I'm trying to fix my account so I would not be charged over the amount well he got upset after I ask him to make it make sense y'all been charging me one fee for the longest over 2 yrs how is this just coming up and he says to me I'm rude not allowed back and he cancelled my account because I'm trying to save my account and my money again I didn't cuss at him I didn't call him no names and he acted like he didn't want to really fix the account so I called the 603 and put in a complaint why I wasn't in the wrong to try to explain my account and protect my money and wanting them to fix my account so that I would not be charged 2xs. Lastly I was just in there on Saturday am spoke to 1st guy that I spoke to about my account we spoke it was pleasant I worked out and left. So what wrong with a woman wanting her account fix and being talked to and treated like a customer should be ? And as for the manager responding I did call what the problem is that at that location they can't take a customer wanting answer and take they answers that they give or explanation they rather you to see it's thier way or no way but when the customer ask make it make sense you can't get mad I did call and and tried to give an explanation and when I tried to explain they got rude hung up and more the manager and Mr ETHAN WAS RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL AND DIDN'T LIKE IT WHEN A CUSTOMER ACTS LIKE THEM THEY HAD NO RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING AT ALL JUST TERRIBLE 🤔

I don’t think not many people can say I went through many physical transformations like I did in my fitness journey after 16 years since I began in 2009 at age 21 now turning 37 in May 13th, no matter how many times I fall I some how find the light at the end of the tunnel. There were ups and down over the years for sure but I’ve never gave up on my goals, here some advice from what I’ve learned in over 15 years of walking everyday to the gym, just put in the effort today and start joining at planet fitness gym because your transformation journey has just started right here right now. Invest in the memories at the this now in 5 years you’ll thank me, now I just gave you the building blocks of building really strong calves muscles through walking now that is what you called tenacity.

Why would you put a squat rack in a random location squeezed between a bunch of other equipment with no mirror in front?? You can’t lift properly and watch your form which is NOT SAFE!!

I'm very appreciative of my experience at the Planet Fitness. I am always welcomed by name, and sent off with kind words when I leave. I'm usually in and out without having to wait for equipment, and even when I do, the wait is short. The overall atmosphere is friendly— as everyone relatively shares the same goals, and are consistently respectful.

While I don't remember everyone's names, the two Tristans I often encounter always go above and beyond to help me, answer my inquiries, and they always leave me with a smile on my face. I frequent a couple other PFs throughout the year, but I'm happy to say this one, I can call home.

This is not my regular location I go to, I came over the weekend to visit family and wanted to get a little workout in. I personally prefer to go at night (12AM-3AM) just to avoid any crowds. Upon entry I was given a friendly greeting and welcomed into the gym. The openness and demeanor from the staff was a definite refresher since my regular location is very standoff-ish and “figure it out yourself”. The equipment was well maintained and clean, with multiple actually FILLED spots for wipes/sprays to clean machines after yourself. The locker room was tidy and comfortable to utilize, no messes or odd smells. After my workout I got to actually have a conversation with the two guys working that night, which is rarely a thing at most gyms I go to, most staff just do the bare minimum but this one was different. If you go to this location, you’re in good hands, especially if Daniel is in that night. 10/10 experience for me, highly recommend!

Planet Fitness in Manassas has made some great improvements recently! The staff has always been friendly, and now the equipment issues have been resolved—ellipticals and bikes are working smoothly without shutting down mid-workout. They’ve also addressed the cleanliness concerns with the HydroMassage beds—bed #2 no longer has any odor. While they still don’t offer passkeys like some other locations, the overall experience has definitely improved. It’s a clean, well-maintained gym with a welcoming atmosphere. Its time upgrade the machines. I go to several locations in MD and VA, and this one needs some improvement. A few weeks ago, I was using the Aqua Bed Massage chair, and it leaked all on the floor near some wires. I counted about 5 tread mills broke and severl weight machines in the back roped off with tape. Not good. Machines seem always have an out of order sign on them. I noticed the other planet fitness franchise locations have upgraded and am curious when this location will upgrade the equipment. The gym stays packed, so I assume membership is good and revenue goals are met, but we shall see.

I like this Monday quite a bit, but there are a few things that could be improved... The staff should take better care of the people, dress and be physically present at the gym, and thus motivate the clients more... On the screens they should show videos of exercises and spinning, and how to use each piece of equipment.

I am a black card member have been for a few years now. I usually go to a different location, but I thought I would try Manassas because it is near my office. The equipment is outdated, the facility is outdated, the parking lot is rough, the folks who work behind the counter were so busy on their cell phones, they didn't have time to answer questions. The heat was on full blast in the locker room - I don't mean it was warm and I felt comfortable changing I mean it was on full blast and was so warm, I broke a sweat changing from work clothes into workout clothes. Save yourself the time and skip this location.

I've gone to this gym since 2013, and it has become a slum-lord owned piece of garbage. Do NOT even consider signing up. The staff are awesome - friendly and considerate. But the ownership is trash. The air handling system has been broken since at least summer 2023. This means on hot days the temperature INSIDE the gym will approach 90 degrees. On a cold January day like today, the temperature in the gym is in the 50s! The poor staff who have to endure 8-hour shifts have to sit in front of fans in the summer and bundle up in the winter.

Ownership, please don't embarrass yourself by trying to reply to this review with some "please email us your concerns" ridiculousness. You know full well your air handling system has been broken for 18 months!!! Frankly, you're lucky you haven't been subjected to a class-action lawsuit for violating your members' contracts, or even OSHA-related fines for subjecting your poor employees to such awful working conditions. I also wonder if ownership is violating the terms of their franchise agreement with Planet Fitness.

After being a black card member for over a decade, this gym has become my home gym. However, I am deeply disappointed with the management’s lack of commitment to providing members with the necessary upgrades and equipment. Despite being informed that we would receive an upgrade every four years, I was only given a limited number of new pieces of equipment, including only three treadmills and seven to ten treadmills that are not even new; they are hand-me-downs. This is highly disappointing, especially since we are being told that we are getting new equipment but are actually receiving run-down equipment. Where is my annual money going? It’s not going towards equipment, renovations, bathroom repairs, or any other necessary improvements. If I didn’t have my black card, I’d cancel my membership right away. I empathize with the white card members who are contractually bound for a year and have to endure these issues. Where is my refund for the annual dues since I won’t be using the gym at all? This gym could be like the rest of Planet Fitness and genuinely value member feedback. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. I’ve been informed that we have the largest membership, but they’re incapable of making any improvements.

I’ve invited friends and family to join this gym, but after all this, I won’t be bringing any more members. I shouldn’t have to drive to a different location for a better-equipped gym, especially when this one is just a five to ten-minute drive away. Centreville is a 15-20 minute drive, and Haymarket is the same distance. Planet Fitness should be comparable in terms of equipment and functionality.
Please, owner, please don’t say this if you don’t value stellar customer experience at our club.

This gym has come a long way. I've been a member at this location for years. Everyone seems to be cordial and minds their own business. The machines are always in clean and in operational condition. The staff is very friendly, Maria assisted with setting my partner up with a membership and was a pleasure to work with. I also like the fact that they do not allow any kind of recording, so there are no annoying "influencers" running a side show or causing issues. All in all, for the price, this is a great gym for beginner to just under advanced level lifters.

I was welcomed by Maria who works at the front desk with a big smile. I wanted to sign up for a membership and she explained everything thoroughly and clearly. She followed with giving us an energetic tour of the gym as she described all the different sections cardio, strength, 30 min workout area, Etc. I left very pleased with the information that was provided to me. Since then I have visited the gym I few times and I appreciate how everyone who is working out focuses on themselves. There are no influencers recording themselves and that’s a plus. Overall I gave this gym a rating of 5 stars mostly for Maria because she was excellent and the gym it self has a great atmosphere. 💪😊

Was told that I could not tan due to the gym not being my home planet fitness.

When furthering the disagreement the two lazy employees behind the desk tried to charge me for eye wear because they did not believe I had my own.

Any reason to not have to do their job and just allow someone to tan or lift weights.

If you want to be addressed by kids who have no social skills and denied any possibility of using the gym then this is your place to call a home gym.

Not clean, staff never stock paper towels. No trash cans in the tanning areas. This is why people buy an actual gym membership somewhere else and pay more.

Absolute disgrace of staff with no effort to even say hello when someone enters the gym.

This place is good to go for what it was meant to be, not your hard-core gym. The price is decent even though they raised the price after many years. Still cheaper than your, let's say, regular gym. You get what you pay for with this location. I’ve been to 5 plant fitnesses due to travel and this is arguably the worst. It could use a little cleaning and at times some of the paper towel dispensers for cleaning the equipment are out. The real issue here is how crowded it gets. Mornings are normally okay, but in the evenings it is near impossible to get a good workout in. On one side you have a group of kids there for social hour using multiple weights while on the other side you have the serious weight lifter hoarding all the weights because if they don’t take multiple weights, they’ll be gone. I kid you not, one guy had 2 different sets of barbells and a curl bar at his bench. As far as the smith machine or cable machine… good luck ever getting on one of those. Yet the crown meter on the app is never past a few bars. Management needs to strongly consider adding additional free weights. An extra rack of dumbbells and additional benches would go a long way. Until then, if you work out in the evenings, I recommend the extra drive to Haymarket.

I really hope you like dirty gyms in which stalls will be held together with duct tape for months. There’s also often times where a the paper towels dispensers are empty at multiple locations but don’t worry there is usually 3-4 staff monitoring the situation on their phone from afar. The best part of this gym is for the last month it has turned into a hot gym where they don’t turn on the AC for that authentic working out in the rainforest vibe.

If you can avoid this location- do it!!!! Worth driving the extra miles to the Haymarket location.

This location never has paper towels nor the disinfecting spray.

It’s also probably as hot inside there as it is outside. I was there yesterday and it was burning hot.

The layout is horrible. They have the weights, cable machine and smith machine all in the same area so you know it’s packed in that section. Their devices are outdated, I tried to adjust a seat and the bolt was missing so it was hard to pull on it to adjust the seat.

Again, just avoid it if you can or management needs to do something about this location. I started to drive the extra miles to the Haymarket location. I was there yesterday only because their location closes at 9pm on Saturdays and Haymarket closes at 7pm.

So, I normally don’t post google reviews. But… as a Black Club member, I wanted to share this less than positive experience. NO FREE TRIAL DAY PASS? Really? I live in Florida and have been to dozens of PF locations nationwide. I tried to have my son come to work out with my wife (my guest for the day) and I as we were visiting from Florida. Eric, at the front desk says, this location does not offer that pass as “we are a Mecca of the tri state area”. Reason: “we are trying to cut down on visitation “. Please sir, get over yourself and your vision of Mecca. To not offer a trial pass that MOST other locations offer is laughable. Cutting down on visitation as Eric mentioned seems counter to doing good business and growing yours. Certainly you did not “roll out the red carpet of Northern Virginia hospitality”. Disappointed to say the least. Please revise your current policy to promote and not discourage “visitation”

Avoid this manassas location. I've been going to this planet fitness location for 3 years but 2 weeks ago I was shocked with the stuff members there. I will explain what happened so there is this girl a member at pf. That she been working aout for about 1 years same schedule as mine. Which is everyday same time and she was coming there at same time. And I've noticed that she was staring at me everyday for month and finally we talk litle bit and I never made a second move for many reason. But she didn't give up she try to talk to me everyday and I've been ignoring here in nice way but a year later she try to talk to me and I completely ignored here and she gat angry because she fealt being rejected and she went straight to stuff members and complained about me that she's not fealing comfortable working near me. And she ask stuff member who she is friend with here. For my personal information. And stuff members I guess they don't have access to my account for privacy reasons and than stuff members 2 hrs later when i was leaving the gym. Ask me for my phone number and immediately I know she is trying to give to that stupid girl name ina. And I told stuff members why u need my number and she lie and told me that because when I checked in 2 hrs earlier the scanner didn't scan my account which she lie because when I checked in the scanner beep t. And she told my thank you. And I told here that she's lying and here face gat red and. And I said I know why u want my information. For your friend and she said no. And than she said o hey also I want to let u know that a member complained about you that she's being harresment by you. And I told here it's not tru. And I ask them to watch footages from cameras because I never approach here or bother here. Ever never. But stuff members without any proof for evidence they took here word for and ban me and traspas me from the gym which mean u can just say anything about anyone in gym and they will ban u. Without any investigation. Whatsoever. And I did call pf. Hd. Any I've been told we will investigate this and gat back to you within 3 days and it's been 2 weeks I've haven't hear anything from anyone. And now I'm going to hire a lawyer. Because planet fitness members at manassas location will share and sell your personal information. To athers please avoid this gym not worth going there it's alot more going on at this location.

Love the benefits of having the Black Card. The two stars are for this locations lacks of attention to cleaning and stocking details.

The Only two mats in the small workout area were being used so I had to lay on a really dirty floor with massive lints balls that always seems to be there.
Not to mention the treadmills have a noticeable layer of dust on the bases of the machines.

Went to wipe down a machine… no paper towels.

No soap in the ladies room,

No toilet liners in 3/4 stalls.

It wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t consistent since coming to this location.

The worst experience we've ever had is due to the rudeness of most of the staff.
lack knowledge of customer service. The way they talked to us was very bad. I'm not sure who won this business, but I feel very bad for the owner who may not know what is happening to his customers there. We paid the gym fee and went there, but the way they treated us was like we were going there for free. I have never heard or experienced staff telling customers to leave if they don't like it. The doors are right there. Not only that, the next day someone from the gym called and even said that it was our fault. The person who called did not even apologize to the team member. There are many gyms we can go to anywhere, but I want the owner to know how his staff is behaving there.

I go super early most mornings, between 2 am and 4 am. Every time I am there Steve is helpful, awake, and keeping the place very clean. I attend the location in Centreville Multiplex on Mondays to fit into my schedule, and it's nowhere near as clean and as well-attended. Give that man Steve a raise or promotion or something because he does an amazing job. Do whatever you can to keep him! I don't know his other woman team member who is there when he's there, but she also does an amazing job. They're a good morning team. Apologies for the longer note here, but I have been to at least 20 other Planet Fitness locations around the US, and while Manassas isn't the newest one, it's one of my favorites.

This has to be one of the worst gyms in Northern VA. The general manager here at Manassas on Stream Walk Ln is on a power trip and one the most disrespectful person I have ever seen. I went to gym in the morning to workout and after I checked in, he started yelling at me said he need something from me but I did not realize he was talking to me because he was not looking at me. Then when I kept walking to one of the treadmills he approached me at yelled at me and said I need something from you. My ears started hurting so I walked out of gym and then he came outside said I was banned from the gym. He banned from gym because I walked out? He probably thinks I some stupid immigrant.

The Planet Fitness in this Manassas area is a decent gym that gets the job done. The facilities are good, and it provides what you need for a workout. Good hours. Truck parking is sketchy though when the sun goes down. Don't plan on parking after dark if your a trucker. Handle your business in the day time instead cause security will knock on your semi door.

They give false information to the members for the purpose of marketing. Encourage people to upgrade to black membership and telling them it is zero dollar enrollment fee if you want to cancel your black membership and go back to classic but when you want to downgrade they charge you $68 enrollment fee. Also it not clean, super busy and the machines smell so bad. I think the only reason they survived is because there is no other close gym around.

I recently visited the Planet Fitness location, and I'd like to share my thoughts on the experience.

Atmosphere:
One of the standout aspects of this Planet Fitness was the very friendly atmosphere. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and comfortable. The staff and fellow gym-goers contributed to a positive and inclusive environment, making my visit enjoyable.

Finding the gym was not a challenge, and the location was relatively easy to access. I visited on a Saturday at 3 pm, a time when many gyms tend to be quite crowded. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it wasn't overly packed, allowing me to use the equipment without long wait times.

Cleanliness and Maintenance:
One area that could use improvement was the cleanliness of the facility. It was a bit on the dirty side, which detracted from the overall experience. Additionally, some of the machines appeared to be in need of maintenance. Proper upkeep of equipment is essential to ensure a safe and effective workout, and it was disappointing to find some machines in less than optimal condition.

Staff:
On a positive note, the staff at this Planet Fitness location were very friendly and helpful. Their customer service was a definite highlight, and they were readily available to assist with any questions or concerns.

In conclusion, my visit to this Planet Fitness had its pros and cons. The friendly atmosphere, convenient location, and the relatively uncrowded Saturday afternoon were definitely pluses. However, the cleanliness and maintenance issues, particularly with the machines, were areas that need attention. Despite these concerns, the excellent and welcoming staff added a positive dimension to the overall experience. If you're looking for a friendly gym environment and can overlook some maintenance and cleanliness issues, this Planet Fitness might still be worth considering for your fitness needs.

I frequent a different PF everyday as a professional truck driver to stay active‼️ Normally I shower here after my workout vs a truck stop but TodayI skipped the shower all together the bathroom was not cleaned. I mentioned it to the staff prior to starting my workout and 1.5hr later I went to use the facilities and the same concerns I saw in the stalls preventing me from using them were still there. Being that this facility is so busy, the restrooms need consistent attending.

In general, a good place so far. Beware trying to do the 30-minute express workout, however. This morning, I was cussed at by a woman when I let her know that I would be needing the machine she was using in about 3 minutes. I went to the front desk for help, but he never came, so I had to deal with her again and another member so that I could finish the 30-minute express workout.

I was told that I couldn’t use my tripod, I then asked the man by the name of Enrique, if he wanted to hold it back there while I work outed, I’m unsure what he said and continued working out without the use of the tripod. He then called the police, which was very aggressive as I deemed no threat! I was then called by the manager Jose later that morning and told that my membership would be terminated! It’s unfortunate, because I just moved here to the Manassas area 2 weeks ago. I’ve been going to planet fitness for many years in (Maryland) and other surround states, and in only being a member for two weeks and to have been terminated is ridiculous!

This was only my second encounter with Enrique, the first time he asked me to leave. I mentioned that I moved from (Maryland) above, so I thought I switched my membership over to Manassas, as I told them at the other club before moving. I was unaware that the membership wasn’t switched over, so upon my third time entering the Manassas location, Enrique asked me to leave.

Unfortunately, I was only able to go to the gym a few weeks, before my membership was terminated. The two interactions, I had with Enrique were unpleasant. He needs to be trained on how to communicate and approach customers.

I canceled my membership in June… but was charged in July and august. Went back in today and signed the paperwork AGAIN and they’re like- well you can use the gym for another month? No dude. I was made uncomfortable by some comments by a young man, which I reported. Nothing was done. The same man harassed me and my kid. The machines were broken ALL SUMMER LONG. Like dude. The bathroom was often not very clean, so I wouldn’t use it. Workers didn’t know how to use equipment. I met one very nice young lady today- that was about it.

I got charged after I canceled! Wowwweee. I called and it took like ten minutes for Eric to give my money back! Dude! I haven’t been in your gym since June! Why would you take my money after I canceled? That’s theft!

I'll try to avoid discussing my issues with PF as a whole and keep it to specifically this gym.
Not enough machines. They have like 50 treadmills, but when it comes to strength training machines it's...sad. There are some machines that I consider staples to a good work out that are absent. And even the PF in Ashburn has them. Not this one though.
And a lot of the ones this PF has they only have one of. And I can tell you on way too many occasions I've come in, seen someone on it and decided to just do a different machine until it freed up. And after an hour of working out, eyeing that machine like a hawk, same dude is on it just texting on his phone. Staff don't care.
But...God forbid! You wear a hoodie into the gym because it's freezing out and you don't want to go through the hassle of locking it in a locker so you just carry it around with you during your work out, and you have the audacity to put it on the gym equipment. Staff will come at you within 2 minutes guaranteed if you do that.
If only they applied the same dedication to enforcing gym etiquette, or getting machines repaired or getting plumbing fixed.
Which brings me to my next point. Remember how I said they only have one of several machines? Well you had better hope it doesn't break because it'll be ages before it's back in commission. And the probability of it breaking is fairly high considering the staff just lets people abuse the equipment (minus putting your hoodie on it 🤣). I saw a girl set off the lunk alarm 3 times in 5 minutes and nobody came and talked to her. That's how stuff breaks.
All in all: if you just want to say you have a gym membership, this is your place. Hard to beat the pricing.
If you are interested in fitness for real, look elsewhere.
