I have been going to PF for a lot of years..( don't know how many) (over 15). Since last year I started taking Amir's classes & went from 1 to 2 then 3 each time. I've never been so excited about going to the gym as I am with Amir as our trainer. He really pushes me, but also makes each class different & fun. The time flies by. I'm 69 & thought I couldn't expect changes or growth in my muscle tone. .but now, I have noticed big changes..& I really want to keep it going!
Amir really encourages me to do things I wouldn't normally think I could do. I have really been loving his classes so much!!

Let me start by saying I live in Hampton with that being said I literally drive past the Hampton planet to go to the Newport News location because I take the classes with the trainer AMIR. His knowledge and dedication to helping people with their workouts is irreplaceable!! There is a great group of women of all ages that come in everyday to take his classes religiously myself included. I have worked out for years on my own and while I thought I knew what I was doing and was content with my results, it wasn’t until I took my first training lesson to realize I was so wrong. The difference in my body definition and endurance now that have been taking the classes for the past 8 months has changed tremendously and I couldn’t be happier. THE GIRLS AND I LOVE TAKING THE CLASSES WITH THE TRAINER!!!!!!!! Unfortunately, his last day is Monday due to reasons that shall not be named. All I will say is it’s nothing bad on his part and it could be avoided but the right person doesn’t want to do the right thing. So here we are all us customers will be left devastated. I speak for everyone who takes his class and say that it is truly our highlight to the gym and he will be missed beyond words. They will NEVER get another trainer like AMIR!!!

It's not the best Planet Fitness that I've been to you but it's decent I do love the new treadmills it feels like you're walking on air. I wish there was a space to stretch more and I wish they had more equipment for glute building but everyone is nice

I have been training with Lamont for approximately 6 months. I have had a couple of trainers in my life and I am truly impressed with Lamont's as a trainer. He's very professional and curtious. He always confirm scheduled sessions, he's very encouraging, passionate and knowledgeable about his craft and the service he provides to his clients. His energy is awsome and he a pleasure to be around. Last but least I see tremendous improvement in my fitness level. I can do things I couldn't or was afraid to do before training with Lamont. You never want to miss a training session if Lamont is your trainer. If I could I would give him five more stars. 😃🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 😃

For a place supposably staffed 24/7 the facility is always dirty, especially the locker rooms. The equipment does not get taken care of so it’s always out of order and there’s no staff to make simple repairs. They don’t lubricate the machines so they always stick and ruins the set. They play obnoxiously loud and bad music that plays louder than my headphones.

I enjoy coming here but at night you dont always get to use any of the perks from black card because you can't find the person working. There js a guy at night who doesn't clean and doesn't fill up the paper towels or cleaner. If you plan to come at night be prepared.

I'm posting on behalf of my mother (Patricia Peczkowski) who experienced a grossly disrespectful and harassing behavior from the gym staff and manager (Keith Robinson). After 2 hours into her workout, she received undue stress from the gym staff requesting 3 police officers to kick her out of the gym without any reason or warning. She was treated as a criminal, causing her to feel deeply stressed and anxious. She's been a frequent, loyal member for 6 years. After she emailed the staff regarding the incident, there's been no subsequent communication and was informed by the gym clerk today that her account has been banned. But, there's been NO communication or reasoning. This is harassment and intimidation from the gym staff.

Many of her friends, who saw the event, have expressed their shock with this situation and how unjust, humiliating, and excessive it was. My mom is scared that they might also get intimidated or banned as well.

This situation is absolutely horrible, and downright disrespectful. I am disappointed and disgusted in the way planet fitness has decided to handle this situation. It is impossible to get in contact with any management to even understand why all this happened in the first place. My mother wasn't even informed about her account getting banned until SHE decided to go to the gym and speak with the front desk.

To anyone who is a paying member of this gym, it could happen to you too! Be careful since the gym staff are clearly capable and WILLING to harass any paying, loyal members without ANY reason or warning.

I stood at the counter for a while, then somebody came over and said "I haven't seen anybody all day, I even peeked in the office and nobody was in there. How am I going to be a member of a gym and I'm unable to use all of the amenities because the employees are nowhere to be found? Definitely disappointed

It's a decent gym for beginners but not for intermediate to expert.
I wonder this...
All over the gym it talks about "Judgement Free Zone," "No Critics," etc. I think that is great.
But then is defines and describes a "Lunk." And then goes on the judge the lunk. There is even a Lunk Alarm.
Does anyone else see the hypocrisy here??

I've been going for almost 3 years now and I still haven't taken advantage of everything offered at planet fitness (the spa area and training sessions) just out of my own stubbornness lol but I'm still very happy with the environment and slowly gaining mass! I've considered other gyms just to see what they are like but I prefer being able to bring a friend with me for free anytime I like and the monthly cost can't be beat so far.

It’s alright, went as a guest with a friend. There is no area to stretch or do any kind of excercise that doesn’t involve a machine or weights which really sucks because that means you gotta do that stuff at home. But when you work a 12 hour shift I feel like it’s pretty silly to go home and do that then go to the gym. Other than that though it’s great for beginners.

This is at the planet fitness on oyster point Couldn’t find the one and only worker, wasn’t at front desk at all my whole workout . All the spray bottles for cleaning were empty except one and everyone had to walk across the gym to get it , the trash cans were all full . Young light skin kid that wears glasses . Today is 2/5/25 and I come to gym 5 am everyday .. honestly the only worker I everrrrrrrr see cleaning the gym , and I mean CLEANING…. He very kind and has dreads or braids and he’s there in the early mornings but unfortunately you can tell he wasn’t there due to how the gym was.

Really big gym with a nice assortment of equipment, clean locker rooms, and a cheap price. Big negative is no squat racks or bench press benches. I came here on a holiday and trained only a couple weeks … for that it served its purpose. But for a permanent gym I wouldn‘t sign up due to the lack of squat racks and bench press benches (there are only smith machines).

My money was stolen $104.05 then i cancelled the same day my payment was due and you didn’t even have the decency to at least refund the $25.05 and the annual fee of $41 dollar. You would think because the membership was canceled you would have had enough ethics and integrity to refund the money. But I see this business has none and is just greedy. I work at Amazon amongst thousands of people and have spread this word. Most of the people there feels this same exact way about this company. I used to like this PF. It used to be clean. Not anymore. Tonight I was attacked by a roach while doing ab work on a mat. The female locker room is always nasty nowadays. Wads of yellow toilet paper on the floor, actual dirt like someone dumped their shoes in the floor and the gym floor has hair and lint everywhere. Filth. And it always stinks in the gym.

Good luck fining anyone at the desk when the sun is down,about a year ago they were pretty good at it but now, every time I have to wait for them to come out of their back room for (not exaggerating) over 25 minutes or I just leave. Makes me wonder why I even pay for the black card. It truly breaks my heart because I loved this place but I don’t have time to waste waiting around. I like they are able to sit down and take a break, however, I suggest they keep the employee door open in case someone need assistance at the desk.

I called and told the service manager to take my card out and still im getting attempted charges. I will be taking this to court. But PF is a scam. My experience with Planet Fitness had been great. I was a member and exercised regularly, but was having problems that eventually required spinal surgery. As soon as I could, I rejoined. I am still in PT but my doctor wanted me to participate in aquatic exercises, which Planet Fitness does not offer. The Planet Fitness at Oyster Point in Newport News has great staff, they are personable and welcoming, the facility is always well stocked and clean. Thank you! Cindy F. Graham

Was in town visiting Busch gardens in Williamsburg and this was one of the closer planet fitness's to the parks. The reviews are spot on and this gym is laid out well and the staff members had good customer service.

The gym itself was really clean except a few dust bunnies here and there in the corners but nothing major. The bathrooms were in good shape and so the locker rooms. Will definitely visit this location again when I'm in the Williamsburg and Newport News area.

Love our home PF. My friend and I have been regulars for a few months and can not say enough about the staff. Jillian and her team are always there to greet us with a smile and are super patient with every single member in every interaction I've seen. Kayla and Damien, along with Jillian, are usually the two associates at the desk when we are there and we just adore them. They are so good to us silly old(er) ladies. There may be a piece of equipment here or there not working; that is common of any gym. They are usually fixed within a week. Wouldn't let that stop you from joining when the staff is so great.

Clean and judgement free zone. Most of the time 95% of the equipment are operational which is good considering the traffic. I have been regular to this location. Word of warning , do not take the crowd meter as the accurate estimate of traffic. I noticed even if the crowd meter is at 3 there are barely any equipment which is not occupied. It is the fault of the software what planet fitness is using and hopefully they will fix it.

Love working out at any planet fitness. I have been to many throughout my travels. I think for black card amenities the equipment should be maintained better. No two massage chairs are alike. One of two always has something not working. Hydro beds one usuall down.
Gym equipment out of order because the vynal has ripped or grips are loose. Many small things equipment us down for long periods of time. Maintance always needed.

On June 7, 2024. While at planet Fitness for about 5 days. I got there 9 pm sided out side for 3 hours when in side 12:30 am. stared to do exercise on the matt. this tall dark skinned men 6 ft. Around 1am he ask me was I was going lay down all night I got up and when to the front chairs. While doing an chair exercise he said I went to sleep while nodding. I said i did not go to sleep. This is an exercises ( that I created ) while nodding. He repeat the lie to me. Well you have to get your phone and leave.
So, I did get my phone and leave.
On June 8, 2024 2:30 am to 3 am. I came there at 10 pm but stayed outside 11 am to 1 am. I didn't sleep outside this time. But around 1 am i went in side to do my exercise's. fell asleep for 30 minutes. Someone wakan me up. I whet back to sleep. The cops awake me. I was wondering. I got my tote and leave. The cops didn't bother or talk to me. I told Planet fitness that I have an sleeping disorder and my feet was swollen from diabetes in Newport News.

A typical Planet Fitness experience the positives are the staff, always friendly and ready to help. Like any other PF Club, it gets crowded with kids that sit on the machines to be on their phones, theres a few broken equipment that never gets replaced, at the end of the day you get what you pay for.

Due to work, i see a multitude of clubs each year and more often than not its in the early morning. I've never seen a night crew as commited to clean as this group. Every morning they are in there scrubbing the entire club head to toe. Their pride gets transferred to the members as well. The club is kept organized and clutter free.
