I’ve been going to PF Little Creek for a while now, and for the most part, I’ve appreciated my time there. I want to start by saying thank you to the staff who’ve been kind, especially Sir Scotty,his respectful, warm attitude has always made me feel seen and welcome. There were even times when I was allowed a little extra time in the massage chairs, and I was truly grateful for those small acts of kindness.

However, what happened yesterday really hurt me. I have cerebral palsy and limited mobility. I understand that establishments like Planet Fitness have liability policies, and I’m not here to argue those rules. I’m not expecting special treatment. I simply want the chance to move, to take care of myself in whatever small ways I can. Staying active is important to my health and my dignity.

Yesterday, I had a personal training appointment that was canceled. That was completely okay; I know things happen. But I still came in wanting to do a light workout. My mom, who had dropped me off on her way to work, was stopped at the front desk by a woman who told her that if I wanted to exercise, she would need to stay because she had assisted me last time.

My mom tried to explain that I had an appointment, and another staff member confirmed that it had been canceled. Still, the woman at the front desk kept pushing. The way she spoke felt cold and lacking empathy, not necessarily what she said, but how she said it. Her tone made it feel like I didn’t belong there, like I was a problem to be managed instead of a person trying her best.

My mom, trying to keep calm, told the staff, “If she doesn’t have an appointment, then we won’t be back.” She was really upset, and I could tell it was because she saw how I was being treated.

I tried to stay calm and give the benefit of the doubt maybe it really is a liability issue but my mom made a good point: if this was truly policy, it should’ve been explained the first time I came in. We weren’t trying to bend any rules. We were trying to follow them.

What made it worse was the emotional weight of it all. Planet Fitness markets itself as a Judgment Free Zone, a place where everyone belongs regardless of ability, appearance, or background. But yesterday, I didn’t feel like I belonged. I felt like I was shamed for my disability. something I already struggle with every day.

It’s difficult enough to put yourself out there when you live with a disability. It takes courage to show up. I left the gym yesterday not just disappointed, but discouraged. And that’s something no one should ever feel in a space that promises acceptance.

To be clear: I’m still thankful for the staff who have shown me kindness in the past. But I hope this review serves as a reminder that how staff speak to people especially those with disabilities matters just as much as what the policies are. Compassion and communication go a long way.

Really need to update this facility! Tanning and red light beds old stained coated in gunk bulbs not changed. Hydro massage screens don’t work. Tanning is super outdated , compared to other clubs in the area who have hybrid beds and facial tanner hybrid beds. Do better. You’ve been here long enough and know military frequent this location- upgrade your franchise - we know you have the money

Great place to get a good workout in without any hassles
EDIT: so i have began to take use of the trainer they have here named T and OMG!!!!!! Its only been 5 days but ive figured things out with him helping me that i couldn't figure out for years!!!!!!! Like the culprit to my weak ankles is my hamstrings and not hips like i previously thought and he put me on the machine to do dips and now my shoulder feels fantastic and its been all bunched up for months now!!!!! Anywho great place to get a workout in and if you dont know what youre doing or starting over like me definitely take part in the training classes they are great and the trainer is super knowledgeable.

I just started going to the gym and I can say the staff was very polite, they helped me get checked in showed me where the locker room/bathrooms were, the facility is very clean! I usually go at night with my husband and it's plenty of parking and the area is well lit. I love the variety of equipment they have.

This is my first gym experience in the area and I have to say you guys have a member for life! Plenty of parking, good variety of equipment, open 24/7 and awesome staff. The biggest motivator for writing this review is largely thanks to my experience with all the different staff, especially an employee named Hugh Parker. Any time I’ve had dealings with him or needed something the experience has been pleasant and easy. Unfortunately most of the times the only reviews that get written are the complaints and the bad stuff so I wanted to just recognize the good. I’ve been coming to this gym for over a year now and have watched Hugh diligently walk around cleaning up, filling up the spray stations, seen him chat with folks and just be nice and friendly, help older patrons figure out how to work a machine. I can genuinely sense that he’s happy to be there, we all know that feeling when you’re talking to a customer service person and they hate their job and it makes you feel like you’re a burden for asking them anything. Not the case here, Mr. Parker is easy to approach and always has a warm welcoming disposition which is a really important quality for socially awkward people like me. Stellar job for hiring this man, training him and posting him at the front desk to be the face of your business! 5 Stars

We are in town visiting and went in for a day pass today for a quick workout. The guy at the front desk told us it was $20 for just one day. We asked if there was any other option, maybe a week pass or something, and he told us that we wouldn’t want to try any other option? So we left. Then, I checked the Planet Fitness website out of curiosity and there is a one day pass for free if you download the app. We definitely should have checked the website beforehand, but the guy clearly didn’t want us there or to help in anyway - not sure why.

8pm IS A WHOLE OTHER SITUATION! Everyone's on their cell phones, sitting on equipment, NOT working out; social hour. I got annoyed & left bc there were people just chillin in the 30min workout room leaving only 4 or 5 machines open to use.

I am a member of this gym and although the staff is welcoming, the water faucet rarely works, and most recently, the pictured machine has had an out of service sign for at least TWO months. I’ve noticed people removing the sign and using it anyways. It’s not a good look when people pay to go there and the amenities are not available.

I have been coming here since May, half the audiovisual equipment is not working. Either the screens are completely black or there is no sound. For example CNN is one channel with no sound. So there’s no opportunity to put the headset on and watch something that you wanna watch. There doesn’t seem to be any sense of urgency on fixing this problem. It’s almost as if they don’t care.

I been going for almost a year here it was goo's but these last couple months new people here had been nothing but like feels like targeting from not wanting to help me with a new membership for my oldest Son ,
to not letting my son in & requesting to bring a birth certificate or ID to the gym everytime . As I walk away for my husband to get my son my frieds kept hearing the lady at the front desk talk about how she know his not 13, he doesn't looks like it.

Usually not too busy. Staff is nice. If you're thinking of paying extra for the Black Card, be aware that at least one if not both of the hydromassage beds are always broken. It's been this way for well over a year. Staff always says they're trying to get new ones. Maybe someone at corporate will read this review so I can use the equipment I pay extra for.

This will always be my favorite planet fitness . Nehemiah is VERY professional and always there to answer any questions that I have. He is by far the most professional employee there. When it comes to professionalism all the other employees should take his lead. I walked in last week and there was this young girl who didn’t even acknowledge that I signed in. She was so stuck on her phone and didn’t even look up after I approached the desk; she needs to go! 🤦🏾‍♂️

Overall the cleanliness is superb and the machines are always working . It’s almost never busy. Even though I go to the one on tidewater because it’s closer , this is my go-to when that one is too busy. To all the staff (except her) keep doing what you are doing!

I've been a member at several PF locations for about 10 years and recommend it highly.
The place is clean and generally well maintained. Machines are sometimes tagged out of service but usually only for a short time. The staff is courteous and generally leaves us to ourselves unless someone asks for help.
And the "no gymtimidaton" attitude is genuine.

Been coming here since the end of December 2023. I just come for the runner machine. I come in usually 6am or midday 12 lunch break. I always see people working out but it’s never super busy to the point you’re waiting on anything. I am able to come in, do what I want, and leave in a very quick and easy way. I like it. The place is kept very well and never had any issues. I would highly recommend and planet fitness certainly lives up to its brand of offering workout the way you want.

Very cool Gus working up front as I signed up online and finished at the Little Creek Road location. They were patient with me as my membership was completed and proceeded to show me how to take advantages that a Black Card membership provides. It was refreshing to run into employees of a business that weren’t to busy playing on there phone to help or didn’t act like doing their job was a bother. I would highly recommend this location as a home location as its very clean and there wasn’t a wait for any of the extra amenities. Well done GUYS👍👍

This wasn't at the club the club is great, it was going on line to website and then getting a phone number to call saying your wait will be 10 minutes and 47 minutes later I hung up. You get sent to the billing company and never get to speak to anyone.

Quieter atmosphere than many Planet Fitness gyms I’ve busted through. Ubiquitous tv’s and cool music vibes, as with all locations. Machines are clean, organized, and all operating — per my quick-view throughout.

Locker room bright & clean (men’s) with an old-school scale right there as you walk in. And why not? This gym is here to help YOU get the results YOU know YOU want!
