The mexican guy with beard who is currently working in the desk who call him self the manager was really bad in this visit we went with my friends a group of 3 trying to enroll one of them to the gym because it was his first day coming to this gym we just have the classic memebership but as far as we know everybody new to the location have the chance to have the guest day pass but in this case this guy was trying to charge 20$ on his visit something really unfair from his part because on the 2 year I had coming to this gym I ever heard before the place is really great but the 'manager' they have is really unhelpful.

I love the club. Great equipment, staff, and very clean. I’d give it a 5 if they were open 24/7 like one of their competitors down the road, where I am now, because PF doesn’t open for another half hour.

I’m a big fan of this brand and I have been to planet fitnesses all over the US. I just moved to Sterling VA and really enjoyed this location and will be coming here permanently. The only down side is the massage chairs. All the other planet fitnesses I have been to have your standard reclining massage chairs. I was given some tokens today which I thought was kind of funny since you don’t need them at any other location. You do have massage chairs but to be frank, they stink. I’m sure they went cheap but if you would consider switching to the standard reclining chairs I think your guests would enjoy them much more. Everything else you are doing here is great!

The gym itself is really nice and spacious, and I enjoyed working out there while I was a member. However, my overall experience with the management has been extremely disappointing.

In July, I went in to cancel my Black Card membership. The associate at the front desk assured me it was done and said the manager would be informed. Despite this, I was still charged for August. After moving to another state, I made multiple calls and even visited the branch twice to explain the situation.

Thankfully, the supervisor Karessa was very professional and understanding. She took the time to listen, documented everything, and made sure my membership was finally cancelled in August. I truly appreciate her effort and support — she was the only one who took responsibility.

The real issue is with management. The manager promised me a refund for the extra month, saying he couldn’t process it on the weekend but would do it on Monday. That was back in August, and after repeated follow-ups (including in September), I still haven’t received my refund. It’s now October, and nothing has been resolved.

So while the gym itself is good, the unreliable and unprofessional management overshadows it all. If you plan to join, be cautious — cancelling your membership here can be a long and frustrating process.

Incredible PF location! Cai at the front desk was very helpful and truly embodied the mission of creating a welcoming, judgement free atmosphere. He answered all of our questions and explained the layout clearly. This location really stands out as it has squat racks, a hip thrust machine, and two great leg presses along with other unique strength equipment I hadn’t seen before at PF. I would definitely make this my primary location if I lived closer to this one.

I had to change my review from 4 stars to 1. While the staff at the desk were very friendly and helpful Planet Fitness as a whole isn't. Many folks walk into the gym and at this point they may not have been there for a while due to back surgeries or other illnesses and they have no idea what they're doing and there is no one there to help them. In my location there are four to five planet fitnesses, and only one has a trainer that may show up two days a week.
I wouldn't call it an overly friendly place, and I for one like many others aren't in the gym as a social gathering, but heck at least say hi. I'd like to get out of my contract early as I signed up with HotWorx and which I do show at 3 to 5 time a week- fantastic place! I'm totally disappointed and disheartened by Planet Fitness and I would love to get out of my contract early. I don't need to pay for two gym memberships. One is working in the other one not so much.

I had a great experience with Rock at the gym. From the moment I walked in, he was incredibly helpful, friendly, and welcoming. He took the time to answer all my questions, gave me a thorough tour of the facility, and made sure I felt comfortable with everything. WOW. Whoever decided to upgrade the place by adding more equipment in deserves a round of applause. I love how there are more smith machines, machines for cable-related workouts, leg press machines, and actual free-weight squat/deadlift platforms (never thought I'd see this in a PF gym!). I used to workout at the Shop Gym nearby and I always hated their high membership fees. This PF gym really has everything I need.

As for the staff, I didn't have any unpleasant experience with them so far. They seem pretty nice to me.

I've been at this location for over a year and this is by far the worst Planet Fitness gym that I've been to. It's always an adventure trying to find a competent piece of cardio equipment. The treadmills either have one or no cup holders at all. The Stairmasters are always broken and unavailable. One of the Stairmasters was broken and unavailable for 6 months straight. Nothing ever gets fixed there. Most of the staff working there look depressed. Always on their phone when I enter/exit and just look like they are going through the motions like they don't even want to be there. Lockers and bathrooms are filthy. I would give this place zero stars if I could.

The weekday team of Andrew and Kalial are always right on top of keeping it clean and equipment back in the right place.
Very mellow fitness center. Certainly not for the heavy iron crowd but enough weights and cardio equipment to keep in shape.

Every day I come in Crocs and they never tell me anything. Only one thing. I'm a Black Card member, which entitles me to visit other Planet Fitnesses in addition to my home club. My home club is in Jenkintown, PA (near Philadelphia), and that is the one I use for comparison to other PFs that i visit. This is the worst PF I have ever been to.

What I did not like about this one, in order of importance: 1. Water fountain was broken. Since my visit was on Black Friday, I originally gave them the benefit of the doubt, that it broke down on Wednesday or Thanksgiving Day itself, and repairs couldn't get done over the holiday. But other reviews have noted that it was broken down earlier than that. I had only once before encountered a broken water fountain in a PF, and that was in 2014! Of course, this means I had to buy water. I think that what would have been a nice gesture on the part of this PF was to put out pitchers of water for free while the fountain is broken. 2. Women's locker room was unheated. I'm glad I was planning to shower elsewhere after my workout. 3. The front desk was unattended for several minutes at a time. 4. Several weight machines were broken, including the one I most looked forward to using, the Seated Row. (It may have a different name in this PF.) 5. I like to end my workouts with the stretching apparatus. On one of them, most of the foam has fallen away. 6. Fewer TV channels/networks, although I usually bring my own entertainment on an iPad and don't usually watch the TVs. 7. NO TOOTSIE ROLLS! Except for a few months being reopened after the pandemic, every PF I've been to has had Tootsie Rolls, including the one in Leesburg (so it's not just a Loudoun County thing to not have them).

How this one compares favorably to the Jenkintown location (hence, two stars, not one): 1. Same treadmills, bikes, etc., so I was comfortable right away. At some newer PFs, including Leesburg and the other one near my home, Willow Grove, PA, I am always asking for help on the machines. 2. Elevator to the second level! I haven't encountered many multi-level PFs, but Jenkintown has two levels, and it does not have an elevator! 3. 24/7 club, except on holidays such as Thanksgiving. Jenkintown was 24/7 before the pandemic but is now only round-the-clock from early Monday morning through Friday evening (referred to as "24/5").

If I am back in the Sterling/Dulles area again, I'll probably bypass this location. I think there is another Sterling location and one in Ashburn that I can try, or I may go all the way to Leesburg.

Love that this one is open 24 hours like all PFs used to be pre-Covid. The staff are nice. But the owner/manager is not doing a great job keeping all the machines in working order, and nobody is monitoring my favorite aspect of PF - the 30-minute workout area. Everyone is supposed to cycle through those machines and not spend more than a minute on each before moving on. But with a biceps machine in the main gym broken for quite some time now, people come in and park at the biceps machine in there. Many of the other machines also get people who just set up camp at them. THREE people monopolized the lat lift machine yesterday, just kept taking turns using that machine alone for 20 minutes so I never got my turn there! For a LONG TIME a couple of the machines in this area have been nonfunctional, also. Same for a glute machine upstairs. The maintenance of equipment really needs to be stepped up.

They continued billing me the monthly fee after cancelation, despite having the proper notification. I called and was told I'd have to wait because there isn't a manager working that day. This is consistent with the poor customer service received in person at this location. When I went there to cancel in person (because they refuse to let you cancel online or in the app) there was no one working the front desk, where I had to wait with a line of others for 5-10 minutes for a staff member to show up. Go somewhere else.

UPDATE: I called the location and the employee who answered said TWELVE people were improperly billed after cancelation this month. Do not sign up here. Read their Google Reviews. They have a long history of billing people after cancelation.

The only reason why I'm knocking a star off of my review is simply because the trash cans outside are more often than not overrun with trash and the areas around the gym (the grassy area) usually is also littered with trash and is pretty unsightly.

That being said the staff here have always been pleasant and friendly. They don't hassle you, there's no over enforcement of your membership or scanning. They are laid back and do their jobs.

The facility itself is starting to show it's age a bit but it's usually clean and not packed like some other gyms, there's zero harassment of female members and bravado seems to be checked at the door. So if you're a woman I think you'll find that this location will more likely than not be a safe and inclusive place for you to work out regardless of your attire.

If there's one suggestion I have it's to keep the bathrooms a bit more tidy including stocking the soap dispenser and probably changing the toilet seats.

For being so new is not really that great. Locker rooms are typically missing either soap or toilet paper. Only one sink even has a soap dispenser in the men's locker room. Paper towels are often empty even though there's always some teenager sitting on their phone at the front desk. Free weight area is in shambles no matter what time of day. Machines are broken or are in disrepair for months at a time. If this location wasn't so close to where I work then I would avoid it entirely. Only positive is that it's one of the few 24/7 locations in the entire area.

I love this branch ,the energy and big space makes it likable and the managment and all crew are supportive and helpful at all times !just a few pointers to make it an exceptional experience :
1. Soap is needed at all times in the men’s room and dispensers should be fixed
2. Some equipment are not working ,some have a (not working sign)on them but we suggest either fix them or if not possible remove them and make space for other equipment
3. Lastly while I’m a 100% in support of no judgment zone ,I feel all members should wear working out clothes while on equipment or in the weights area ,I see some wearing jeens/denims/ dresses and flip flops which can be a safety hazard,at the same time I understand that our commitment to consistency of workouts will force us to squeeze in a quick workout without having to go home and change or if gym bag is unavailable but in my humble opinion it shouldn’t become a habit !all the best for this branch 👍

I use to love coming to this location when it first opened up, but I'm not sure if ownership of it or management has changed over the course of the last few years, but it has gone way down hill. First of all, there seems to be no pride taken in the business at this location. When you first pull into the parking lot there is trash all over the place and it's been that way for weeks at least! Like seriously when there are two people working, someone can't pick up trash? Second most of the equipment is outdated and most of the machines for some odd reason don't have cup holders. What's that about?! Much of the equipment is out of order, the staff behind the counter are not friendly and don't greet you when you walk in or say have a nice day like they do at other locations. For a gym in one of the most expensive cities/counties, this gym is very subpar!

I have a gym membership at my work, but looking for another one near my home as we do not go to office everyday. I went there to understand their membership and found their $10 p.m. comes with several strings attached to it. Firstly, you need to pay a startup fee of $59, then an annual fee of $49, plus $10 a month. It has a commitment of 12 months, and you need to pay a penalty to break it, which is some $50+ (not remember the exact $ amount). Also, you will be tied to only one club where you sign up. They have the free pass for 1 day, but i didn't use it as I am not sure if I go for it.

I am generally satisfied with the equipment but the bathrooms are not very clean and break down all the time. Two of the three soap dispensers aren’t working for at least three months. One of the toilets has been out of service for over six weeks. None of the sanitizer dispensers has any sanitizer for over five months.

There used to be a lady that work at 5am that kept this gym spotless. She worked so hard to clean all the equipments, showers, bathrooms, put weights back and refill all the cleaning sprays. Since she has been gone for the past few months this place is just falling apart of dirtiness. The womens locker room is disgusting. The mirrors in the dressing rooms are so dirty, they are actually cloudy all the time. There is hair and trash all over the shower floors. The manager of this club i think his name is luis and i think he should be replaced because his not taking care this gym at all. I know this gym is not an expensive gym but i think it should still be atleast cleaned in the showers and lockers to stop the spread of germs. And the funny thing is that when you leave a review here, all the replies they right is for us members to make sure we tell a team member about it. Why doesn’t management read all these negative comments and get things fixed and cleaned. Why do we have to go to a team member in person. Writing a review here is a way to tell management that you suck at your job.

Three facility is new and the equipment is great. only comments are 1) the bathroom/shower area smells. Showering isn’t the best experience. Also the towel hooks are more like shirt hooks and your towel falls to the floor. 2) The music they pipe In is loud. So loud, you can have your ear buds in and still here during music 3) The big ceiling fans blow down on the elliptical trainers and makes it cold during the workout.

Excellent gym to work out, there is plenty of equipment. The price is very Accessible in the team is very helpful and professional. Also, the bathrooms are very clean. I love the circuit area . It will be the best gym in Northern Virginia And the USA if you Would have offered Zumba classes.

The good: $10 per month.
The bad: You get what you pay for in this case. The facility is dirty and poorly maintained inside and out. There was one employee who actually worked and cleaned, but it appears she left about a month ago, and none others have stepped up to fill her shoes. 80% of the time, there is NO hand soap in the men's bathroom. When equipment breaks, it takes several weeks to months for it to be repaired. There is an unbelievable amount of trash on the property. I'd be surprised if it has ever been picked up. It is reflective of how this business is run. Clearly the owner is checked out and does not care.

I have been member of planet fitness since 2014, and member of fitness ct since it started. I love this place, I come almost EVERYDAY, employees are very friendly. Also since they are open 24 hours, I never have to be worried when they are going to close. Also very good price,

I LOVE Planet Fitness at Fitness Court Sterling!! Great machines, clean, happy atmosphere, Luis and Will are super helpful, always encouraging and happy. I admire their job. I couldn’t do it better. Also, I notice that in others planet fitness don’t have a trainer. Kevin is an amazing trainer and he can train you here. Schedule your class using your app. It’s included. Very knowledgeable. 2.6.2024 -Review update:
Over last few weeks, I have noticed a change in how quickly machines get repaired, as well as finding weights in the right places. Great to see, and I've adjusted my rating as a result.

I've been a member for over a year, and for a while the gym was well maintained and broken machines were repaired relatively quickly. Over the past few months, more and more machines are visibly broken, and just sit for weeks still broken. I'm also having to go find weights in other places of the gym because they don't make it back to their home and no one cleans them up. Hopefully it's just a bump in the road, but it's frustrating to pay for broken machines.

I come here 6 days a week. Every time I come I see the workers sitting down watching TV. The gym still dusty. I didn't know you can workout in flip flops ! Oh they put water in their soap so your hands are still dirty. The gym still dirty.

Came here a while ago and it’s a great place highly recommend but I just got bad vibes from the staff like I wasn’t wanted there I thought it was just me being weird but it was just to hard to ignore but if you’re thinking about joining definitely do it great people go there especially this one lady who was super nice and just fun to be around great gym highly recommend but I might just go to a different one I found closer anyways but this one is great

As a black card member I jump around quite a bit to the local planet fitness locations. This one is by far my least favorite. It has the best equipment but despite being one of the newer facilities this one seems the most worn down.

Not to mention, today 12/29, I had a horribly rude interaction with the young lady at the desk. I asked a simple question, and the reply I got was basically I'm an idiot for asking that. She looked like a teenager but still, basic customer service matters.

Not to mention one of the urinals litterally shot water out like a geyser, and instead of taping it off and closing it down they simply put a wet floor sign. Yes the floor is wet but that's not the bigger issue here.

All in all just horribly managed, which is sad because it is one of the best facilities in terms of size, machines, and location.

Very unprofessional management, I see why people complain. I have been charged even after cancellation of the membership and was told it was “unintentional” and I would be getting a refund that takes 7-10 business days. It’s been over a MONTH. William Chandra’s, the “regional manager” has continued to ignore my messages about my refund and was very rude when I asked him what’s going on since it’s been way past the date which has resulted to him no longer responding.

By the far the WORST PF I’ve ever been to in my life!! The manager doesn’t respond to customers; I still haven’t heard anything about my account balance ((which has been incorrect for months)) and it’s been over a month since I brought it up to him!!!! I want to transfer my membership, they can’t do it (and I came inside to do so) they said it “works sometimes” CRAZY!!! I told them to cancel my membership since this has been an ongoing issue, they said I would owe $60 to cancel, it’s literally like I’m stuck at this God forsaken gym!!! Hopefully I can get some kind of resolution after this review, and if not then hopefully I can SAVE someone the hassle of being sucked into a vortex of misery from dealing with them ((it’s the management not the actual gym)) he needs to be fired!!!!

Has a good amount of space and a decent selection of equipment. The problem is once the equipment breaks it never gets fixed. I’ve been going here for 2 years and some machines were “temporarily out of order” before then. All the cable machines are broken and seem that they will stay that way.

It's enough space to workout without feeling uncomfortably close to someone. I would give it 5 stars if they hadn't removed the punching bag. It added a diverse and exciting mix to my cardio workout.
