This pf was very clean. Was greeted at the front desk. Plenty of space. Lot's of machines. They should have more than one stand of barbells. You have to get what you want and walk it to the wherever you want to use it. They get a one star for that. Most pf's have at least to stands with barbells. That is my only complaint. But it is a big one for me. Nice atmosphere. I will be returning here.

I usually have a great experience at this gym most of the staff are friendly and helpful. However, today I had an encounter with one staff member that really stood out in a negative way. Monica, she’s an African American woman with a short haircut and gray hair. Unfortunately, her attitude was unnecessarily rude, which was disappointing since this gym is normally very welcoming.

This gym is a good gym if you like cardio or a whole bunch of machines. When it comes to free weight stations there are minimal to none. I cancelled my membership after a few months because I could never do squats because you have to use the only 2-3 smith machines available and members are using it to do all different types of chest exercises so you are left to do your legs on machines. The gym is very small compared to an LA Fitness or something similar.

Ryan is the personal trainer at this location -- he is FANTASTIC!! My daughter, husband & I attend his workouts. He switches up the workouts so you are never bored and he tailors them to exactly what you need or are looking for that day. ( For example, even if it is an absolute class he graciously will give you more "arms dominant" exercises if you also wanted an arms workout during that session, while keeping the other folks in the class purely focused on abs!) He is always checking to make sure you're comfortable with the weight or movement, always warm ups & cool downs, too, to prevent injury. He is the BEST!! He has a gentle, quiet, friendly demeanor & is always listening to your needs. Hey there, PF management!! Please, please, please make sure you do what you need to keep Ryan here -- he is greatly loved & extremely appreciated by us members!!!

Love this location. The place is clean and well maintained. The staff are very friendly and quick to respond to any needs or questions I have. The bathrooms are always clean when I go. Equipment and weights are working and where I need them to be, and if anything is missing or broken it's fixed before I can blink! Even better, as a female, I feel safe here to work out. No one bothers me when I work out, and people here are respectful of each other's space.

I am from a different state and wanted a gym that is close by and not so expensive. I was reluctant about joining because of some things I've heard about, however, this gym is great. If you do not care about swimming, aerobic classes, or practicing somewhere else for MMA then this is the gym for you. There is somethings I do not agree with though which is the 'lunk' because MMA forces us to breathe and as a 'judgment freeze zone', I do sense there are some judgemental people if they see something that is different. I do like their strict policy but in my opinion, planet fitness should have a new rule of banning cell phone recordings and I rarely see that in this gym which is nice. My other gym was filled with influencers.

I tried to tan on Tuesday, and the bed came on for ten seconds then shut off. I was advised to not hit the start button so a few days later I come in to tan and I’m standing in the bed for 6 minutes plus and it just never comes on. There’s no assistance button or phone number to call the front desk so I have to get undressed and dressed just to walk out to have them hit a button and I end up not even using the service since it’s not worth it. For now on I’m only going to tan at the military highway location since obviously I can’t here. Very frustrating.

Was going to try out the local planet fitness with my friend when he got off work on Saturday but we pulled up and they aren’t 24 hours like most, if not all of the other ones. This is the closest one to my house. I was so excited to see it so empty (hate working out with too many people around) that I was ready to sign up for a membership for this club, but unfortunately I would only be able to work out when they are closed on Saturdays so I’m just going to pick a different gym company entirely.

Planet Fitness can be very judgemental. Today, Javen observed I did not have headphones, this is out of the norm for me; needless to say, Javen speaks to me from exactly two machines away telling me I have to have headphones. The volume of my phone was so low that I could barely hear it. The workout video was not speaking at the time, it was the countdown so I was completely surprised he felt the urgency to interrupt my workout to throw a policy at me. I don't mind policies but what I do mind is the way he told me about the policy. He watched me walk in and did not speak, it is highly offensive to be reprimanded without the decency of saying "Good morning " first. Also, it is hypocritical to address one policy to someone but turn a blind eye to others who are privately training members. I informed Javen of the proper way to speak with me. If he is going to speak with me, it will be respectful. Come to me and discretely inform me of the policy, or wait until my workout is complete. There is a level of tact that he missed today. He comes off as a nitpicker. I see him welcome others but does not welcome me when I walk into the gym. Creating a judgment-free zone creates the most judgemental people. I only recommend this place if you are on a budget. Learn people skills and what it truly means to be a leader.

I travel a lot and have visited many Planet Fitness gyms around the U.S. Planet Fitness in Kemps River Crossing on Fordham Drive in Virginia Beach is one of the best locations I've had the pleasure to frequent. The staff is friendly and maintains a well-kept facility. The sanitation areas remain stocked and equipment in order. If a machine is out of order, it does not stay that way for long. The locker rooms are clean. Management is outstanding! Janae and Dominique took care to make sure I had a pleasant experience while in town visiting and graciously went above and beyond to help me transfer home gyms when my travel plans changed. Incredible customer service!
