For this reason I requested to cancel my membership 11 days before it was to be billed… despite being in danger, I was told that not only was it not too late to cancel the payment that was to come out in 11 days. There was an additional $60 cancellation fee.
I am livid that I am out almost $100 for something I cannot use… But I will not under any circumstances continue to support any company who puts my health and safety at risk!

I bought my membership because the manager that signed me up told me that my club would be a 24 hour club soon after opening. It’s been over a year and not only is it not 24 hours…it even closes early on the weekends. I also have a love/ hate feeling for the high school summer program. I love the fact that PF wants to give high schoolers a free place to work out, but I don’t like the fact that they don’t enforce proper use/ sharing of the equipment. I’ve never seen one of them wipe anything down after using it. Most of the time multiple groups of kids will occupy 3 or 4 pieces of equipment and never lift a weight. They’re usually too busy on their phones making videos while us paying members can’t use the equipment. It’s frustrating because I think it’s a great idea to give them a place to work out for free, but I’ve suggested to PF that they give them certain club hours to visit so that paying customers know when they can come in and avoid the crowds of kids that are there to socialize more than actually work out.

I stopped in while traveling. This PF is open 24/7. It's a bit smaller than the locations I frequent at home but it had all the equipment I was expecting. The staff was friendly, the locker room was clean and everything was in good working order. I would definitely return.

I cancelled my membership on June 16, last day of my billing cycle. I paid $58 ‘buy out’ fee to cancel my current membership on June 16.

Today, June 17, I still got charged $25 for one additional month because employee Shaniqua Thomas put 7/16/2025 as my last day.

$25 charge is unfair, and unethical. I request $25 to be refunded. $58 for buyout fee and additionally charging full month membership fee $25 (black card member fee) is unethical and I didn’t request this.

If you’re on vacation and looking to visit a gym, avoid this location. I showed up to train while on vacation and waited at the front desk until someone showed up so I could pay. I could have snuck in but I did the right thing and waited. A blonde haired gentlemen showed up and said I was not allowed to train and would not let me in because he said he was new and did not know how to check in a guest. He also said he did not know where his colleague was who could help and had not seen him for 30 minutes. I asked if I could go train and pay in the way out and he said again, that I was not allowed to train at the gym. Completely unprofessional and his poor decision making led to planet fitness not making 60 dollars. They charge 20 a day and I was going to train there 3 days and had already trained there the day before. Train your staff better Planet Fitness, I will never train at one of your locations again.

We have been members of Planet Fitness for a while now and I have experienced superb customer service time and time again. But today, Daniel went above & beyond to help us.

Even though we weren't at the Town Center for the gym, we went to the check-in desk because of an emergency with our vehicle and Daniel took excellent care of us. He changed our flat tire even though it wasn't part of his job to do so. He was compassionate & empathetic to our situation & showed great initiative to solve our problem. The gym equipment is nice, but the 1st. Impression means a lot. The staff is not knowledgeable of the equipment or Black Membership Perks. They didn't give me the tour. They didn't give me any information about the membership process. All of the information I received was from a female over the phone, whom I don't believe I have ever met. They do gleefully greet you as you walk in the door. The gym itself seems to be very clean, especially for a 24 hour operation. The lockers and bathrooms always smell nice. The guests seem to adhere to keeping the equipment wiped down after use. The membership is not expensive for everything this place offers, like...24/7 operation, clean showers, plenty of working equipment, massage chairs, tanning booths and other New Age booths that I don't know how to operate (and neither does the staff, lol). It's a great place, but bring your own friends; you won't make any new ones here.

Truly upset when I say I walked into this planet fitness excited to tan, and the gentlemen at the counter were beyond rude. I started by saying it was my first time in particular planet fitness and I wanted to tan. The boys were both extremely rude trying to explain that we need to check in and then sign in on the iPad. As I was trying to check it the scanner wasn’t working and I let them know it was working and one boy said “it’s definitely working” my friend tries and it did the same thing and I said still not working and he snapped again and said it works. I just walked away and went to tan. When I came back over I asked what do I do now and said again I’ve never been to this one and this is not how our gym is. He said you come back here and I’ll check you in and was again rude. I asked for a 9 minute tan and 6 minutes to get ready. He pointed down the walk way and said room 5. I said again I have never been here before where do I go. He pointed to the room. When I get into the room it’s freezing cold. Kinda odd as it’s a tanning room and you are getting almost or fully naked. I got in the machine and it was only three minutes of tanning. The amount of irritation I have from this whole experience was awful. I will never use this gym again and young ladies who are happy steer clear as the men working the front desk obviously have an issue with it. I will forever stick to any planet fitness but this one.

The Rotary Torso machine has been out of order for over a month. I have asked about that and other equipment being fixed, like the hip abductor machine to be fixed. It is very frustrating when the only machine for that exercise is not functioning for a long period of time.

Well I came once a week because I have other gym membership, on New Year’s Day I was there as normal doing my stairs cardio while I was there at young lady come to me she don’t even say hi or nothing she come straight and told me that I have to wear the right shoes to use the stair machine( she was so rude and told me if I don’t do it I have to leave the establishment because I wasn’t allowed , today was the first time I have seen her, she did not even have the manners to ask me nice or polite ) well it’s what its she worry over silly things when they have more stuff to worry about it the machines and floor are always dusty she have to worry about other people business..

We use PFs whenever we travel and this location was very spacious and clean. Only issue was front desk employee being sarcastic when signing in for massage bed. I’ve never signed in before and he was a little condescending stating “I’ll show you so it makes my job easier”. Well maybe take your EarPods out and that would make your job easier.

Was here on a vacation trip from out of town and the fitness center we were staying at was lacking in the machine department, so we came here for a day to get a proper workout in. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this PF location, especially given that it’s in a shopping center. I haven’t been to a PF location as spacious as this one in awhile, and with the way it’s windows are laid out it gets a lot of natural light in the morning. The machines are modern, the men’s bathroom was clean, and parking wasn’t bad at all. Locker room was in my preferred layout - benches lined against the locker walls. I would come back again if we’re ever back in Williamsburg.

Found out for some reason they were still charging him even though he no longer had an active membership. Called corporate to find out a second account was opened for him a month after the original account was opened. They were charging him twice for a whole year. I’ve been trying to transfer my husband’s gym membership for over two weeks now after moving from Virginia, and it’s still not done. I followed all the necessary steps, provided all the required information, and was told it would be a straightforward process. However, despite multiple follow-ups, I’m still waiting. The lack of communication and efficiency is really disappointing. I expected better service from a gym that prides itself on member satisfaction. I could recommend this gym to any of my friends or family, I’ve been coming here around 5x a week for the past few months, and have not had a single negative experience. I’m a night owl so I frequently see the overnight crew specially Ryan whenever I’m there, who has always welcomed me with warm and positive energy! There’s been a few times where I needed help with a machine and he was more than happy to assist me. I always see him going around making sure the gym is clean, which shows because I've had no complaints about the cleanliness of the gym!. So far, I’ve really enjoyed the Williamsburg PF! The only thing is as of late, I’ve noticed the women’s bathroom and showers have not been cleaned (or if they have, they haven’t been cleaned very well)! I’m someone who likes to have a shower right after I workout, and the last several times I’ve gone, there’s been the same hair balls and mess in the shower drains. I go at LEAST 3-4x a week, the hair I saw last Monday is the same hair I saw on Friday. I understand staffing can be hard at times- but cleanliness is CRUCIAL to gym members!

I give this place 3 stars because the staff is phenomenal! However, the cleanliness of this place is disgusting to say the least. I have been going here for little over a month & the same tanning lotion spots have been on the walls & floors the whole time I have been going. Almost everytime I go, I get the same room so it is very easy to tell. Also, quite confusing because there is always a cleaning cart out. They do not hold their guest responsible for cleaning up behind theirselves. If they aren’t going to clean the tanning beds or gym equipment after every members use. Which is not what I expect, at all! I do feel the least you could do is make sure your members are properly cleaning behind their selves. It’s sad that adults have to be reminded to do so, but I HAVE to clean the bed before each use regardless. You can see the spots as soon as you look at the bed, walls, floors, etc.

Definitely recommend working out here! Always a welcoming environment every time I come in. Ryan is always there to give a smile and a chat, help fix any app problems, and overall is just passionate about his job. Definitely make sure to say hi to him if he's working! The equipment is great, and there's tons of helpful tutorials by trainers or on the app. It's always very clean as everyone keeps up on cleaning the machines after using them. Screw this place. I've been a member for MONTHS, and today randomly they tell me that my photo and all my documents are missing and they need to re-take my picture and have me re-sign everything..? Um. No. I'll be canceling.

Your inability to effectively manage your members' information is not really my problem to have to solve ... it's a little ridiculous to stop me from entering the facility to try and get me to come back to an office to re-sign papers. Very sketchy and concerning. If you really had a problem at least email or call me first... questionable that you are not reliably managing member data. I walked out and won't be back.

It would be great if they offered a free day pass like other PF locations nearby. I wanted to try for a day before I sign up. Followed the instructions on website, got the app to get the pass, and when I try to choose location Williamsburg is not there.
However, when you go to "sign up for a membership" using the app, Williamsburg location appears.

I’ve been taking the fitness classes offered. So far I’ve done core, lower body, and strength. I’ve recommended them to my co workers. These classes are really good. It doesn’t take long (30 min) but I can really feel it when I’m done. The instructor Emma is so nice and really makes sure my form is proper. I kept trying to get help for the black card lounge and the same staff member ditched me three times. So, I had to just ask random staff walking by with tour groups to help me. No one gave me a tour of the lounge or explained how it would work. It was frustrating and anything but relaxing. Hope it gets better.
