After a brief hiatus from my yoga practice due to the closure of a favorite studio, I have found the best of the best in Madhavi. Not only is she a talented and educated practitioner, but she is also a guide as I manage pain and flexibility as I age. Her studio is intimate, clean, and comfortable with mats, blocks, blankets, and water! I would highly recommend her services. She also offers online instruction!

I started taking classes with Madhavi after my physical therapist suggested I try yoga while rehabilitating a back injury. I was initially intimidated by some of the poses, but Madhavi meets each student where they are--helping us feel good about what we can do instead of focusing on our limitations and offering modifications for those who need them. I enjoy the small class size, and the flexibility to attend class virtually when necessary. I'm happy to report my back is doing much better now!

I feel so blessed to have discovered Prana Health & Wellness. Madhavi is one of the sweetest & most kind person I have ever met. She truly cares about each of her students' well-being. And, she helped me love yoga. As a child I used to despise yoga and thought it was boring. As an adult, I decided to explore yoga again but was adamant to find a yoga teacher who honored the ancient history and cultural context of yoga and did not treat it just for exercise purposes. I had taken a long break from consistent yoga until my last year in university. I have been feeling lost, unable to think clearly and really feeling scared about my next steps. I then began a pranayama practice and dove into Kundalini yoga. I found Prana Health and another teacher for this practice. My experience with Prana Health has been nothing but amazing. Madhavi is an incredible teacher with a connected lineage to this practice. Her knowledge from her experience as a western medical professional really allows her to make nuanced communication about every Kriya and posture that each yoga class goes through. Her devotion to breath, and classical styles of yoga is truly a gem and I honestly can't say I have met many teachers that truly understand the practice and can help students reach places never thought possible. Madhavi's Kundalini class has been life-changing for me and I can't imagine life without my practice with Prana Health. If you are on the fence, DON'T BE! Be in full stride into taking classes with Prana Health as it will absolutely help restore your life force in more ways than you can imagine. I can't recommend Madhavi and her business enough!

I have thoroughly enjoyed learning from Madhavi through her yoga classes and wellness coaching. She continually strives to make sure everyone feels welcome in her yoga classes and are comfortable to do what they can during that class. During wellness coaching she helps you figure out what works for you best by providing lots of ideas and options and listening to your struggles. Being able to switch between in person or virtual yoga classes has been instrumental in keeping me regularly practicing yoga during times when I couldn't make it in person.

I recently finished a 3 month program with Madhavi and it was so insightful. I wanted to work on practicing meditation and more quiet space in my day-to-day very full life. Madhavi had very practical weekly plans to help me learn to quiet my mind, be more grateful, and take a pause from very early morning engagements of my work. I have been taking yoga classes with Madhavi for last two months and I absolutely love the way she teaches. I wish I had started before!
I feel calm and relaxed after every yoga class. It has a great input on my overall well being. I have tried her virtual and in person classes. I find in person classes are a lot more relaxing than virtual as the studio itself is very relaxing. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to start yoga.

Watching Madhavi's yoga practice evolve in the time that I've gotten to know her has been a privilidge in and of itself: from the studio itself, to the things I've learned (everything from breathing to chakras to meditative practices)...I wouldn't recommend anyone else if you're searching for someone to teach a holistic yoga practice for mind, body, and spirit. Madhavi really knows her stuff and always explains things in a way that is easily digestible and applicable not just for the practice you show up for, but for the everyday practice of life. She takes plenty of time to ensure the space is set up for everyone, going the extra mile to ensure her practice is available to those who may not wish to come in due to the ongoing health crisis (which she has navigated beautifully) or for those out of town/state via Zoom. As a young person with musculoskeletal disabilities, I'm also very excited to take her yoga for chronic pain classes in the upcoming year! Due yourself a favor, and go to one...or ten of her classes.

I was introduced to Prana Yoga by a friend in September which has turned out to be an idyllic studio to attend. The environment is very inviting with smaller size classes, come as you are (no mats or other paraphernalia to lug along) as mats, towels, bolsters, etc. are pre set up for each student attending, not to mention Madhavi’s sincere and charming personality. Her magnetic voice guides you effortlessly through each movement. If you are unable to attend in person you have the opportunity to zoom from any location for her live classes. I especially enjoy her once a month complimentary Yoga Nidra sessions.

After struggling for 3 years with numerous doctor visits, MRI’s and Scans and not getting any conclusive answers, I had given up hope on the doctors finding the cause of my balance issues related to foot drop . Things were really bad ... and then people suggested yoga. Like a miracle I got to know Madhavi and started taking Yoga classes over Zoom. Having never attempted Yoga was a bit apprehensive about it. But just after a few months of practice, I sincerely believe it’s helping me - maybe externally not so visible yet but internally it’s given me hope, strength and im definitely more calm and confident.

The first thing that you see when you enter Madhavi Rao's yoga class the atmosphere of utter calm. That feeling carries over from when you first walk in all the way through your practice, and, eventually, when you reluctantly leave the patio doors. Nestled in the quiet suburbs, this calm is, yes, cultivated by Madhavi, but ultimately, the serenity is woven in and between the foundations of the studio.
But that's not to discredit the teachings of Madhavi in the slightest. As much as the serenity contributes to the experience and environment, Madhavi's mastery of the art (and science) of yoga does as well. Madhavi uses ancient and modern science to make sure that not only do you understand how to do the exercises, but how the exercises impact you.
Indeed, both Madhavi and the studio create an experience that captures a certain, almost unattainable bliss.
