I have been working with Gabby for the past few months. She has been wonderful! The full body workouts that we do once a week have been effective in helping me experience improvement. I've been working out with a personal trainer (Gabby Rice) 3 x a week at ROI Strength for 2 months. Seeing AMAZING results: building muscle, becoming toned. More importantly FEELING amazing... stronger.. and former injuries (back, rotator cuff, etc.) are not hurting... bc I'm learning proper FORM and I'm building up the muscles to support these injured areas. I leave every workout feeling better (not "torn down". I used to think I had to feel that way in order to get results. Not so!). What an awesome team at ROI! The facility is beautiful, and thoughtfully stocked.

ROI is a gym unlike any other. It was recommended to me by a physical therapist because their gym focuses on the pursuit of health and wellbeing, especially following recovery from injury. The trainers seem very knowledgeable and are trained to focus on form and function over high reps and just pushing you to the max, which is not what I was looking for. Following physical theraphy, I wanted to ensure that I continue to strengthen my body and protect it from pain returning. It has be several months and I have had zero pain. My trainers, Gabby and Sonia, are wonderful at customizing your workouts to your needs and issues without making any move too overwhelming. The vibe of this place is very welcoming and inclusive to all ages, sizes, and experience.

I have been working out with Sonia for a few years. I’ve struggled with arthritis, osteoporosis, and ongoing knee pain in the past. Before training with Sonia, I couldn’t carry my own groceries into the house or get up off the floor by myself. Not to mention having a diagnosis of osteoporosis. Sonia took the time to understand all of my health issues and concerns. Her knowledge, expertise, and unwavering support have been instrumental in improving my fitness level. Now I am so much stronger than I ever thought possible. My bone density actually increased as a result of Sonia’s effective strength training program (my doctor was super impressed) so I could avoid medical infusions! I’m able to carry my own bags and my arthritis is not nearly as bad. I am very grateful for Sonia and the entire ROI team! It’s a fantastic, welcoming and fun environment. I started with ROI after a cancer fight and some emotional times and did not have any confidence in my strength or physical abilities. Steph really listened to my concerns (even through some tears) and let me know they would meet me where I was and help me get to where I wanted to be with no pressure on my schedule. I started working with Zach, and he has been amazing because he is strategic in the way we work p m to build back my strength, which has helped build back my confidence too. The gym has a chill vibe and there is no pressure (unless you want it). Everyone is cool, it’s never too crowded, and you can do there work and go. I was searching for a personal trainer after a partial knee replacement three years ago. I wanted someone who was a physical therapist as well as a trainer. A neighbor recommended Stephanie. I started with her, and I have never looked back! She is so knowledgeable, and always addresses my specific needs, not just following a standard routine. I’m so happy with the results!

Collin takes care of all the thinking for me. He listened to my goals and has a plan waiting for me every day. I just have to show up and work hard - Collin ensures that my effort pays off.

I am stronger, better-looking, more mobile, and fitter than I’ve been in years.

Collin also has a bunch of specific skills that are relevant to me. He’s taking me through some Oly lift progressions and I’m hitting the form better on my power cleans and overhead squats than I’ve ever done before. He fixed my deadlift form, too.

Really recommend this gym and this coach for any general purpose strength and conditioning.

Do not hesitate to join ROI, especially for boxing sessions with Colin! He is incredibly knowledgeable and easy to work with. I’ve never felt more comfortable with a trainer, especially upon our first meeting/intake.
It was intimidating starting something like boxing when I didn’t feel like I was in the best shape, but I’ve been working with Colin on both weight training and boxing for almost a year and have never felt stronger.

ROI has also opened my eyes to what a genuinely body positive, safe, and comfortable space looks like to continue to achieve my goals. I had been on the hunt for a place to begin weight training, but was concerned whether trainers in town would be knowledgeable about hypermobility and how to safely train a body like mine. My physical therapist recommended ROI, and specifically Steph, who is also a physical therapist. I had an initial in-person consultation with her and a trainer who no longer works there--both were excellent, and I felt safe and heard (and amazed at the thoroughness of my consult). Flash forward to almost a year later, with between one and two one-hour sessions a week, and I consistently leave the gym feeling energized, excited to take on the day, and I see and feel the progress I've made! I recently moved and was amazed at my strength throwing around moving boxes.

Steph and Jordan are incredibly caring and thoughtful owners, and my trainer Sonia is excellent--always responsive to my questions and caring as well. They have all been over and above supportive during some challenging personal situations as well. Even the other clients are warm and friendly! I can't recommend ROI enough.

Joining ROI Fitness and beginning my training journey with Stephanie was a decision born out of necessity. After years of battling chronic health issues and a lengthy recovery period, I found myself at a low point, both physically and mentally. ROI Strength and Conditioning is an absolutely accurate name for Stephanie and Jordan's business.
As a 65 year old wanting to maintain an active lifestyle, I have found Stephanie to be super engaged with crafting ever varying training programs for me. From the initial assessment to working with various injuries I seem to keep inflicting on myself (doing things like boogie boarding or climbing up mountains), Stephanie has been instrumental in helping me not only maintain, but build strength, endurance, and flexibility.
Numerous times she has introduced some new routine with kinda weird exercises. I will look at them and think, "What's that going to do??" Then I start doing them and they are just awkward, and not so easy. Then I realize that this weird thing that I haven't seen anyone do at any other gym, Stephanie has specifically designed to help address my neck and shoulder issues, which are going to get progressively worse as I age if I don't keep working on them.
I have other nagging injuries that crop up from time to time. Stephanie always finds ways to work around them, and at the same time, she designs exercises that can help prevent them from reoccurring.
I can't recommend Stephanie and Jordan enough.
Finally, the facilities: spotless. Crazy clean. Seriously.

As a strength and conditioning coach for 15 years and having worked with more physical therapists than I care to remember, I consider myself incredibly lucky to have connected with Steph and Jordan at ROI.
Despite my inclination to beat myself up by splitting time between "desk warrior" by day, and adventure seeking dad by evening and weekend.

ROI Strength & Conditioning has transformed my life!!

I know this sounds a bit over-the-top, but it is true. I met Stephanie when she first came to Richmond. My daughter, who is currently a collegiate Volleyball Player, saw Stephanie for Strength Training with a focus on Physical Therapy (PT) for her hip issues (FAI and a torn labrum). This felt like a good fit for my daughter since Stephanie was a Collegiate Volleyball player.

When I wanted to work on my own strength training and try to fix some back pain I was having, I thought of Stephanie. I found it encouraging that she is also a PT as well as strength and conditioning coach.

I started seeing Stephanie in July of 2020 to help with some back pain. Stephanie developed a program to help stretch and strengthen the muscles in order to reduce my back pain. The back pain subsided, but the work, thankfully, identified where the real problems were. In August of 2021, I had my first hip replacement and the second in February of 2022.

I worked with Stephanie up until surgery and post-surgery. She adjusted my workouts so that I was getting stronger in the areas needed and helping to reduce the pain for the problematic hips.
I can say for a fact that my post-surgery recovery success was due to the work I did with Stephanie prior to the surgery and in between the two surgeries.

Since the surgeries, Stephanie has pushed me to do things I never thought I could do. Her coaching style is supportive, encouraging, and yet also holds me accountable for working hard (I need that)!

I highly recommend both Stephanie and Jordan at ROI if you are serious about your health, regardless of your age or ability. It is a program that provides the right structure and rigor that has helped me feel stronger and healthier than I have in YEARS!
