I recently took the child I care for as a nanny to Glen Allen Romp and Roll, and we had such a great experience! J was amazing with him — she has such a bubbly personality and beautiful natural hair that made her stand out. She was so engaging and welcoming, which made the visit even better.

We attended the 3:15 music class and it was fantastic. The class included a variety of instruments, bubbles, a relaxing break with stars, and an exciting obstacle course. It kept the kids entertained and learning the whole time. I enjoyed it so much that I can’t wait to come back and bring my infant nephew so he can join in on the fun too. Highly recommend!

We've been attending Romp n' Roll weekly for over two years now with our two littles. We love the instructors (especially Ms. Mady!!) and how every week the set up and lesson plan is different. It's ok. Not for my child. To many transitions, and they switched each time he got comfortable enough to participate. They claimed they were in the works to get sensory friendly classes but still havent and its been months. My grandson loves Romp n Roll west end in Glen Allen. He’s been having fun here since he was 18 months old. So this is where my son and daughter in law decided to hold his 3rd birthday party. Hands down the best decision! Akira, Chase and Lilly were our hosts and they did a FABULOUS job start to finish. Akira met us at the door and welcomed us. We brought a large amount of decorations for the room and they helped us unload, carry them back to the party room and took care of most of the decorating! Then they took over. Akira guided the party seamlessly through gym play and activities, to serving the pizza (they even pick it up for you!) cutting and serving the cake…even arranged the photo opportunities! Chase and Lilly were there for every need we had, adults and children alike. I cannot recommend them enough. Everything went so smoothly, Akira was a fabulous leader and kept the party on track from gym play to bubble time to the final goodbye. AND they take care of clean up! So fun, so efficient..an A plus 10/10. If you’re looking for a fun birthday venue look no further. The absolute best!

Note about booking birthday parties- Children over age 6 are not permitted to use the equipment at all. This directly contradicts what they say on their website “Any child can attend a Romp n' Roll party regardless of age providing s/he plays safely. Please note that we reserve the right to ask any child playing unsafely (in our sole discretion) to discontinue play.‘

We booked a party for our almost two year old based off of this language so that her older sibling and a few other older siblings could be included. However, when they called to go over their policies, they said children over 6 could not play at all and that they could be “helpers” (which is not how guests should be treated) We canceled the party based off of this. Luckily I spoke to them within the limited 3 day window they allow a refund.

I have been bringing my 17 month old to rompnroll classes instructed by Ms. Em and we love it. The classes are parent-inclusive and consist of a variety of activities for different age groups. We love Romp n’ Roll! We started with a birthday party which was perfect for a pretty broad age range of cousins. We have a collection of family photos from the holiday events! Our kiddos LOVE Ms Mady and ask to go to her class each week. We love that she encourages them to try new things but also respects their space and moods. They also love seeing Ms Kim at open play! I would not recommend the kids night out to anyone. I had such a horrible experience. I paid in advance for the kids night which takes place from 6pm until 9pm…. My two year old doesn’t eat pizza which was what they had to offer for dinner. So I left her two apple sauces, grilled chicken already cut and room temperature and ready to serve along with a granola bar…. I received a phone call around 8:40pm stating that my daughter was inconsolable, at this point I was already in route and highly worried because this is unlike her normal behavior. Upon arrival I picked my daughter up and immediately noticed that her pull-up was completely full. I also noticed that her meal that I left at the front desk with an employee was all still there. So I began to let the employee know that she didn’t want to be held she was hungry because she doesn’t eat pizza which is why I left her a FULL meal. My problem here is that no one there paid attention to the signs that something was wrong with her… they blamed it on “she just wanted to be held” once they admitted that she had not eaten any pizza and saw that all her food was still sitting where i left it they began to apologize but also make excuses such as “there was so many things in the bin” …..well that’s what you all signed up for. The disfunction and disorganization was apparent and I plan on further voicing my concerns. I also recorded this incident and will release it to the proper authorities.

I recommend Romp n Roll to all mothers with young children. The 3-hour sessions twice a week were very good for my daughter to develop socially and to start giving me time to do other things besides motherhood. It was also great for developing her English, since we speak another language at home. She loved playing with Ms. Brooke.

Romp n’ Roll has been the best gift I’ve given my daughter and myself as a parent. It’s been amazing to see the progress she’s made since her first class. The staff has always been incredibly patient and welcoming even when she was still learning to be in a structured environment (shout out to Maggie and Jennifer… and now we love going to class with Alexis too).

After a terrible experience at a traditional gymnastic center, I almost decided not to take my daughter to classes anymore and that’s when I decided to try Rompy’s. I’m so glad I didn’t give up and found Romp n’ Roll. We’re so lucky these facilities exist in our area and I will 10/10 recommend them to anyone looking for a fun, non-judgemental environment to watch their child blossom.

Thank you for creating this unparalleled experience for kids, and hope this encourages someone else to bring their child to Rompy’s to see what a special place it is. There’s a class for every child and their varying energy levels/interests.

My experience at the end of May 2023 left a lot to be desired. I called to check in as a new patron and was prompted to give all of my credit card info (including the 3 digit code) over the phone, which, in addition to making me feel uneasy, made me even more late. When I arrived, I still had paperwork to fill out regardless of providing tons of personal info over the phone. The group didn't feel particularly welcoming or interesting. The group leader seemed unable to improvise when the recording didn't work and struggled maintaining interest of attendees with her activities so it felt like open gym time. It was a costly class at $10 for only 30 min of gym time compared to other play gyms that charge $10-15 for a few hours of unstructured time. At the end, the promotion of classes and camps felt very pushy. Based on the paperwork, it seemed way too expensive and the hours conflict with free morning activities as well as afternoon naptime schedules. I gave three stars because the equipment was fun and the space had very cute decor. Hopefully they destroyed any records of my personal info because I will Likely not return.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this location. I really appreciate their emphasis on wearing socks, disinfecting the space after ever class, hand washing, and hand sanitizer. Romp n’ Roll has been such a huge part of my daughters development regarding social skills, communication skills, sharing, learning, playing, exploring, and making really special friendships we cherish with other moms and babes her age. Jennifer has been a HUGE help for us off the jump. Accommodating, caring, kind, fun, informative, and a mom herself, she has always greeted us with warmth and a smile. She helped us groove in and has continued to do so every step of the way. Mady and Brittany have been extremely influential in the best of ways as Gracie has continued to come to classes. The community we have come in to has been one of the brightest paths my daughter and I have both gotten to walk and I am so thankful for the fun we’ve had at Romp n’ Roll and the adventures ahead- we love y’all!

We have had a party in each store, southside n west end. Both locations were great and the staff was helpful n patient. I had a lot of 1-5 yr olds and they had a ball! This is my daughter's very first drop off play place/camp/daycare of any kind. She has been at home since she was born. She absolutely loves it and it makes me feel so much better "letting go." My 11 month old loved it! I did as well as to how every area is baby safe and he could climb, crawl and just let lose. The class was cute with Miss Ashanti and it was fun how they got a few minutes of free play before coming back into it. Will definitely be applying for a membership. I work from home so he's with me all day, so it's a great way for him to interact with other babies!

We take classes and do Parents Morning Out as well as Open Playtime. We’ve been coming for about a year now and my son loves it. I honestly wish you all were a preschool. We attended a 1-hour trial class.

What we liked:
-Good size small group
-Structured but not micromanaged/forced
-Good pace for age group (around 2 years)
-Variety, different activities
-Climate-controlled, nice change of pace/break from humid heat

Why we probably will NOT become members:
-monthly membership costs more than our all-inclusive membership for family of 6 at the state-of-the-art gym nearby AND
-Rompn’Roll charges a huge additional fee for parents to drop kids off (only during certain events/times) when my regular gym does not charge anything additional to watch kids while I work out (or while Dad works out and Mom runs errands) and with a far greater range of available times to do so.

We MIGHT do occasional class here and there (I think $25 for a class) or consider birthday party there in future (because good for age group….will depend on packages/costs).

In summary, cute idea, but does not make a practical fit for our family.

REVISED: These guys really care about their clients! The manager (who is terrific!) noticed my concerns and took time to talk thru/address them. So we're hoping some of our frustrations are coming to an end as they open more classes and hire more staff. As I said in my previous review - my daughter loves this place and we have s lot of fun every time we go!!

So, this is a tough review since my daughter and I love this place and we've been members for over a year. I would definitely recommend taking your small child here to see if they like it - but there are some drawbacks. On the plus side, the classes are fun and the staff is very friendly! On the minus side, the membership classes are use them or lose them so if something comes up (or your child gets sick) you can't roll over your extra classes to the following month. Also, there's not a great selection of times for toddler classes and the ones that are convenient fill up quickly so you can't always get in. But, when we do go, our daughter has a great time!

We have been going to romp and roll for two years. My daughter started when she was two and now my son is 18 months. He has been going since birth, at first in a baby carrier and now to classes. We love Romp N Roll. We have made many friendships, it’s a great place to meet other parents with small children, and my daughter has made some great friendships. My son is obsessed with the songs and both my kids love going.

I had originally written a one star review, reflecting what I thought was completely blatant unprofessionalism, which I was mistaken entirely.

Babz is a wonderful person. Hands down, the behavior and negligence of the staffing during a pandemic does not and will remain not being relatable to the way she runs this location.

She believes in community and the children and families first, and has amazing communication normally when she actually gets the messages! Trust the fact that if there is ever an issue, she will address it directly and get it taken care of as fast as she possibly can.

I am pleasantly relieved this was a mistake on my part. We will gladly be back again to support Babz and whatever team she has when my girls can attend more classes together.

Mr. Price is a talented entertainer and was very patient with the children. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was taken care of including the adults. I have a 10 month old son who LOVES Romp n' Roll and I love getting to watch him have so much fun interacting with others and the environment. The staff is phenomenal - a special mention to Laura whose love for the babies creates such a welcoming atmosphere. The classes are always age appropriate and I appreciate that they encourage your baby to explore and enjoy the class in their own individual way. I can already see my son's confidence growing!
