About the Club

THE LITTLEGIANT MUAY THAI specializes in private Muay Thai lessons, exclusive group Muay Thai classes, and performance training. Our goal is to highlight the benefits that one-on-one instruction and authentic Muay Thai classes provide, learning at an accelerated rate with specialized attention tailored to each student.

The Head Instructor and Co-Founder Thanat Yingwitayakun or Kru (Master) Chon is “THE LITTLEGIANT” himself! Kru Chon received the nickname “THE LITTLEGIANT” because, despite his small stature, Kru Chon has an aggressive, dominating style of Muay Thai. Kru Chon began fighting in Thailand at the age of 10, and with over 120 professional fights he is undeniably one of the best Kru’s in the DMV.

If you are looking for an authentic Muay Thai experience, with amazing and encouraging krus, friendly, supportive students, and a genuinely positive vibe - The LittleGiant is the gym for you. I started 20 classes ago and feel awesome. This is literally the first real exercise I've done in roughly 20 years (no joke). Yet Kru Chon, Kru Roger, and Kru Nate have been nothing but gracious and patient. Truly exceptional people. Don't hesitate if you are considering trying Muay Thai or generally interested in martial arts and getting in shape. All experience levels train here. You will not regret any time you spend at The LittleGiant Muay Thai.

I had my very first Muay Thai private lesson with Kru Chon. Going in, I was really intimidated since I had never done it before, but he immediately made me feel comfortable. He broke down the fundamentals so I felt like I knew what I was doing right away and confident. On top of that, the session was so much fun—I left feeling energized and excited to come back. Kru Chon has a way of making you feel like you’re already part of the gym, even as a complete beginner. I can’t recommend him enough!

This Muy Thai gym is outstanding. The instructors bring the Thai “Land of Smiles” attitude to life. They are friendly, knowledgeable and excellent teachers. I recently joined and was concerned about my age holding others back. In my 60’s I’m not in the shape I once was. The instructors recognize my limitations and are more than eager to work with me at my pace. The students are wonderful as well. If you are looking to improve your self-defense techniques or just want a fun way to get in shape, look no further. Come in, watch a class and then sign up for the two class trial program. You’ll get hooked like I was.

Little Giant Muay Thai feels like a place where people come together purely out of love for Muay Thai.

Training alongside them lets you truly experience the spirit of the sport.

The combinations are simple yet effective, with coaches explaining the details clearly and always open to questions. They point out mistakes, provide ways to improve, and keep the training intensity high.

Even senior students step in to help beginners, creating a supportive atmosphere.

This is, without a doubt, the most authentic, dedicated, and cooperative Muay Thai gym I’ve seen.

The best place to train Muay Thai in all of Virginia. The teachers are great. They're always attentive, correcting techniques and improving your skills. Like everyone else, they treat you with respect and are super friendly. Highly recommended, whether you want to become a professional or just learn to defend yourself.

Head Instructor Master Chon (Kru Chon) is super awesome. He is a very experienced and seasoned Muay Thai figther and trainer originally from Thailand. He is exceptional, enthusiastic, and effective at training a huge range of people (children to adults) at all levels from beginner to serious amateurs to professionals. His gym is incredibly impressive. Our 14 year old daugther just started with Kru Chon this summer in the Little Giant Muay Thai gym and she has benefited tremendously in her physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual development. The high quality of this gym at all levels is evident from just watching the excellent instructors and the variety of students at all ages. Other senior members/instructors of this gym are also very impressive as teachers and Muay Thai fighters. Recently, in early July 2025, at title bouts at the WarriorCup tournament in New York, Coach Nate Bennet (co-founder and instructor) and Coach Meu Sirilak Choophien (woman Muay Thai instructor) won their fights decisively and both took home championship belts (Kru Chon was there working in their corners). This level of accomplishment on a national level from a single small gym is truly exceptional. In addition to group classes, private instruction is offered. If you are interested in Muay Thai training at the highest level or you just want to get your kid off the street for a little excercise for the summer, Little Giant Muay Thai is highly recommended!!! Try it and you won't regret!!!

Two months in and an incredible experience!

From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by both the coaching team and the community. The coaches are incredibly open and supportive of new students, regardless of age or experience level. Whether you're a total beginner or more advanced, they meet you where you're at and help you grow.

One of the things I appreciate most is the strong emphasis on training safely. The coaches are very clear about technique and control, which creates a positive environment where you can push yourself without fear of injury.

The community here is something special. Everyone is friendly, respectful, and always willing to help each other learn. It’s a place where people genuinely care about your progress.

Highly recommend to anyone interested in learning Muay Thai. You’ll get great training, stay safe, and be part of a truly supportive community.

Truly one of the best decisions I have made was joining Little Giants. I walked by on happenstance and have not been disappointed since. The instructors and staff generally care about the students. Teaching you the proper technique while also pushing you every class. I cannot stress how amazing it’s been finding this gym. You will develop confidence, loose weight and all while learning each and every class. For coming in with zero Muay Thai knowledge or experience my journey so far has been amazing. Thank you all!

Training at Little Giant Muay Thai gym makes me feel like I’m back in Thailand again. This gym truly delivers an authentic Muay Thai experience. Kru Chon, Kru Eddie, and Kru Roger are all highly accomplished native Thai fighters with years of experience, both in the ring and as instructors. Their focus on technique and discipline has helped me grow stronger and more confident with each session. Beyond learning Muay Thai, I also get incredible cardio conditioning, strength training, and improved flexibility. The gym’s atmosphere feels like family—everyone pushes themselves to the limit while supporting each other along the way. The gym is spacious and well-equipped, making it the perfect place to train. Whether you're looking to learn the art of Muay Thai, get in shape, or prepare for an official fight, Little Giant Muay Thai is hands down the best in the DMV.

When I began my journey with Muay Thai in 2020 I, as expected, had a lot to learn. In the beginning, getting some of the basic techniques down was difficult for me and I struggled a lot. At one point, I wanted to completely quit practicing because I felt that I just wasn't capable of learning Muay Thai.

Fortunately, I kept at it; I took fundamental classes, watched a lot of videos, and eventually purchased a punching/kicking bag to practice new techniques at home. Things became a little easier, however, I still struggled with some of the concepts.

The following summer, my girlfriend called around to inquire about some gyms so that I could continue practicing while we were on vacation, and we stumbled upon The Little Giant. During our very first visit there, we were met with the warmest welcome and had the privilege of meeting the infamous little giant himself.

Suffice to say, Kru Chon is the best there is.

There is no other teacher I've met who is more dedicated, accommodating, innovative, and encouraging than he is. The staff is great as well. Nate, in particular, is a great communicator and has been so helpful every time I had to set up appointments. In addition, each instructor that I've had the privilege of learning from, be it through a private or group class, has helped me tremendously. From teachers to students, everyone has been supportive and uplifting.

Thanks to Kru Chon's knowledge and guidance, I have progressed enormously in my Muay Thai journey. It is always the most humbling experience to train at the Little Giant and I could not be more grateful that I stumbled upon this gym all those years ago. Definitely recommend ten times over, you won't regret it.

This is the best muay thai outside of Bangkok. Lead instructor Chon was my coach back in Thailand when I was fighting and he coached and trained me for many wins! He is a former stadium fighter himself, so the level of instruction is unbeatable. If your goals are UFC, Lion Fight, or simply to just get into shape, Little Giant Muay Thai is the ONLY place to go. Chon is very traditional in his approach and no matter what level of boxing you are he gives everyone the same amount of teaching. Can't recommend this place enough as there just aren't that many places in the U.S. that have this level of muay thai! Check out Little Giants, you won't be disappointed.

I’ve trained all across the east coast, and very few gyms maintain the positive growth-based environment that I see in this gym while keeping a high-training quality. You are either too good or not good enough to train with the pros in most places, and injuries are abundant — not at LittleGiant however. Everyone is welcome regardless of skill level, everyone trains together whether it be a novice or pro fighter, the staff and instructors do their best to keep you safe and motivated, and most importantly everyone will make an effort to say hi, remember your name, and welcome you back eagerly. You’ll even learn to speak a little bit of thai yourself if you stay long enough!
LittleGiant Muaythai is a family, and I am happy to have found an incredible home-away-from-home.

Since joining Little Giant Muay Thai a few months ago, I’ve embraced a new lifestyle of fitness and camaraderie. I was never an athlete; I always focused on my career since I was a teenager. I wish I had added this to my life earlier.

I've experienced a remarkable transformation, with my brain rewiring as I learn new coordination and fitness techniques I never knew before. It’s been an amazing journey. The coaching team is incredible—patient, professional, and supportive. I think the other 6 a.m. class members initially doubted that I would last long in this gym. However, thanks to the welcoming staff and fellow members who took the time to teach me and make me feel included, I’ve established a new routine for life.

I’m really happy with my decision to join and find myself impressing my own expectations with each class—not something this +50-year-old ever anticipated saying! In terms of health stats, since joining LGMT, I’ve seen a significant decrease in visceral and body fat, along with an increase in muscle mass. My physicians have told me that I’ve never been healthier, and my diabetes is now much easier to manage.

I look forward to each class for many reasons. I'm incredibly focused throughout the workday, and my diet and sleep have naturally improved to peak levels. I’m probably the last person you’d expect to see practicing Muay Thai; I had no idea what I was getting into but knew it would challenge me and I wanted to try it. Training with Kru Chon, Nate, Roger, Ayan, and the rest of the class has been an incredible opportunity and experience for me.

I can’t imagine my life without this now. I’m grateful to LGMT for the positive impact they’ve had on my life.

I recently joined The Little Giant Muay Thai, and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed by the friendly and professional staff. The gym has a great atmosphere, and the trainers are incredibly knowledgeable and supportive.

Each session is intense and challenging, but the instructors make sure everyone understands the techniques and progresses at their own pace. Their attention to detail and dedication to each student’s development is truly impressive.

The facilities are clean and well-maintained, with plenty of equipment available for training. The sense of community here is fantastic, and I’ve made great friends who share my passion for Muay Thai.

Update (November 2023):
I wanted to post an update as lots has happened since my initial post. The gym is in a brand new location, although very close to its original (~10 minutes away). For any prospective students, the new location is much larger (has probably double the mat size) so there is more than enough space for you to join without feeling cramped! There is also additional staff to help with any logistics.

Although the gym is larger, the guidance and instruction still has the feel of a small, intimate gym (in the best way possible). It's challenging, fun, and personally tailored towards you. I attend the All Levels and Fight Team classes and Kru Chon's guidance and instruction is as excellent as ever. Also, Kru Roger has been teaching at Little Giant Muay Thai and he is an amazing addition. Their teaching styles are unique, but complement each other very well - it's been extremely rewarding to learn from both of them. Both Kru's emphasize good technique, helping each other learn, keeping each other safe, and having fun. You will learn about Muay Thai as a sport, but also many of its traditions and cultural aspect (I have attended several classes that are focused on Muay Boran).

I have been doing Muay Thai for a little over four years now and I have been with Kru Chon since my very first trial class in September 2019. Many of the other reviews go into better detail about this, but I hope that speaks to the quality of his guidance, instruction, and the overall experience of learning from him. Kru Chon, Nate, Kru Roger, and everyone at Little Giant Muay Thai have built an amazing community, which I'm very happy to be a part of.

Original Post (May 2022):
Little Giant Muay Thai is an excellent gym to train at if you're looking for authentic (including clinch) Muay Thai training! I have been training at LGMT since it opened and have really loved my time here.

Kru Chon is extremely knowledgeable and can help you deepen your knowledge/skills, whether you're completely new to the sport or have previous training experience. Kru Chon and Nate have also done a great job to make the gym friendly to people of all training levels (from those looking for a workout to those looking to compete).

Would highly recommend LittleGiant Muay Thai to anyone looking to train in the sport or just looking to become more active!

A Humble Journey at Little Giant Muay Thai

As a novice in Muay Thai, my journey at Little Giant Muay Thai in Virginia has been nothing short of transformative. I want to express my heartfelt appreciation for this exceptional gym and the incredible people who make it what it is.

I fulfilled my lifelong dream of training in Muay Thai in Thailand in 2022. Since returning, I've been searching for a great gym in Northern Virginia.

From the very beginning, I walked into Little Giant Muay Thai with a limited understanding of the art of Muay Thai, having had little background in boxing. However, the warm welcome and the sense of community that enveloped me were beyond my expectations. The trainers and fellow practitioners were not just there to teach and train; they became mentors, friends, and a source of constant support.

Little Giant Muay Thai instructors possess a wealth of knowledge and experience, yet they approach their teaching with patience and humility. They took the time to break down complex techniques, ensuring that even a novice like me could grasp the fundamentals. Their dedication to imparting their wisdom and fostering growth is truly commendable.

What sets Little Giant Muay Thai apart is the atmosphere they've cultivated. It's a place where beginners like me can step onto the mats without fear of judgment. Every member of this gym, regardless of their skill level, shares a common passion for Muay Thai, and that unity creates an inspiring and motivating environment.

As I reflect on my journey, I'm grateful for the discipline, confidence, and physical fitness that Muay Thai has brought into my life. Little Giant Muay Thai has played an instrumental role in this transformation. They've not only taught me the art of Muay Thai but have also instilled in me the values of humility, respect, and dedication.

To anyone considering embarking on a journey into Muay Thai, I wholeheartedly recommend Little Giant Muay Thai. My experience here has been humbling, enriching, and deeply rewarding. It's more than just a gym; it's a place where dreams are nurtured and greatness is achieved through the combined efforts of passionate individuals.

Thank you, Little Giant Muay Thai, for guiding me on this incredible journey. I look forward to every moment I spend on those mats, learning and growing as a martial artist and as a person.

Thanks

When it comes to the art of eight limbs I have yet to find a place that teaches it better than the LITTLE GIANT MUAY THAI in the DMV area. I have been to numerous martial arts gyms in the past two years of my ventures and this one takes the cake in terms of teaching you how to defend yourself and conditioning you to be the best version of yourself. Thanks to this dojo, I went from 200 to 180 in less than eight months and had a blast doing it. This is more than just a martial arts gym, here you will also become part of a family who will motivate you and push you to be better. Sawadee Krap! I'm not one to normally write reviews, but The Little Giant Muay Thai DEFINITELY deserves some positive recognition!! There just aren't enough words for me to describe how much I love LGMT & its entire community! Before being a Nak Muay, I've always doubted myself thinking I was never going to be successful in combat sports let alone have the confidence to get through the cardio aspect of it all. I'm so glad that I took a chance with The Little Giant Muay Thai because I truly believe how big of an impact its had in my life. Kru(Master) Chon & Instructor/Coach Nate have been so uplifting since the very beginning & they continue to bring nothing but positive energy in every class that I've attended. Not only do they make you feel welcomed the moment you step in the gym, but big egos/bad vibes are nowhere to be found at LGMT. You truly feel as if everyone is a part of the same big family & all members do what they can to make sure you succeed in your training/goals! No matter where you're starting from in your journey, The Little Giant will teach & guide you through all the ins & outs of Muay Thai! I definitely recommend them if you're ever in the area and/or wanting to try something new in your life! Khob Khun Krap!

Kru Chon, Coach Eli, & Coach Nate are amazing Muay Thai instructors, and really help classes hone in on the small details by ironing out bad habits and breaking down the techniques being taught. TLGMT has reignited that spark I had years ago when I was in the Marines. I got out of the Corps feeling like I had gotten hit by a freight train, but training Muay Thai has helped me regain a lot of mobility, and has reinvigorated me mentally & physically. I recommend this gem of a gym to anyone at any level.

First and foremost I want to thank Kru Chon, Nate and the rest of the Little Giant Muay Thai team! I started in June of 2022 and from my first day there I can tell Kru Chon does this because the love he has for Muay Thai and the love of teaching others. That’s why he has a solid team surrounding him. Great coaching, all authentic Muay Thai, awesome teammates and great atmosphere. Best Muay Thai gym in this area. I went in there very overweight that I gained from the past couple of years. It took me a couple of days to get use to recovering when I first started but within a couple of weeks I could go 3 days straight in a week. So far I’m down 50lbs all from training at Little Giant Muay Thai doing 3 days a week. Didn’t even change the way I eat as much. Definitely got some more pounds to shed so I can’t wait to show my yearly results. All beginners to fighters are welcomed and respected equally. Everybody goes at their own pace so no pressure but the workouts definitely pushes you to the next level that gets you to want to do better for yourself. I even signed my 13 year old son up two months ago and he just competed at a Youth Muay Thai technical scrimmage which he did awesome! Definitely surprised me on how much he learned from Kru Chon and Nate within a couple of weeks. Can’t wait for what the future holds. If you’re looking for a new home/gym and family Little Giant Muay Thai is the place for you!

Highly recommend for anyone interested in learning muay thai even if you're just a beginnner or an experienced fighter.

Kru (coach) Chon and everyone there are super supportive and encouraging. I enjoy going to class as they push you to your limit, but you can also have fun at the same time. They have created a community that's inclusive and welcoming to everyone regardless of your experience level, age, gender, race, etc.

You'll definitely break a sweat! So if you're interested in learning muay thai or just looking for a fun way to work out/keep motivated, this is the place for you!

I trained here for close to half a year during my time in Virginia and absolutely loved it. As someone who has tried to find a martial arts gym several times (mma, kickboxing, ad bjj) trust me when I say this gym is unique. I found it difficult to commit to a gym due to coaches, atmosphere, community, etc. However, LG has everything you could want out of a gym and then some. Kru Chon and Nate are a true gem in the DMV area. I attended all level classes and private sessions, both were well worth it. I recall once I had a flat tire and had to cancel on a private session, when I called Nate to inform him his priority was to make sure I was taken care of and recommended a local tire shop since he knew I was new to the area. Just shows that they really care about their students, rescheduling was in the back of his mind. Both Kru Chon and Nate are active in engaging with their students in and outside of the gym which builds a great atmosphere/community. Cannot praise Little Giant, Kru Chon, and Nate enough!

My elementary school aged daughter decided about a year ago that she wanted to start martial arts training, and a knowledgeable friend recommended Little Giant Muay Thai (LGMT) as a place that would provide both training for technical skill development and appropriate discipline. Over the last several months, I have watched my daughter's confidence, strength, and practice exponentially improve and she simply loves being a part of the sport and the LGMT community - and it is a community. Kru Chon and Coach Nate Bennett have created a special and welcoming studio where everyone belongs, regardless of skill or experience. The members of LGMT show up to support each other - in classes, at matches, and at other social/team-building events and the atmosphere is always inclusive, positive, and focused on taking care of each other. Because LGMT is a community, my daughter gets to interact with students across various levels of experience/skill and she gets to see how the training she is doing now could lead her to be competitive in the future (as many of the individuals who train at LGMT do compete). Kru Chon, Coach Nate, and the entire LGMT community are fantastic and we feel really lucky to be a part of it.

I only have good words with my experience at LGMT. Wonderful coaching with Nate and Kru Chon, healthy comraderie with gymmates, and great training sessions. Though I only had the chance to train with them for a month due to temporary work in the DC area, I still learned new techniques and ways to improve on my form while getting in an intense workout. Definitely recommend for anyone who wants to train in muay thai! 🙏🏼

I have trained at Little Giant Muay Thai since their opening last year and have only amazing things to say about this gym. Master Chon is a one of a kind instructor with a lifetime of experience in Muay Thai. You can see his passion every day he holds classes and provides attentive personal instruction to every student no matter the skill level. Master Chon demonstrates each punch, kick and combination with grace and efficiency. To have an instructor with his physical caliber is inspiring, his body feels like it is made of sheet metal!

The culture that Kru Chon and Nate have built at this gym is exceptional. Laughs and jokes are shared at the front door and you will leave your first class with new friends. More advanced students are given extra opportunities for pad work and sparring while novices are honed in on fundamentals and conditioning. Everyone is granted the opportunity to apply their skills in sparring with diligent instructor supervision. It is part of the culture to protect each other from injury so students are reminded to go at a pace that is beneficial for both.

If you are looking to compete in the ring, get in good shape or even just learn a new sport, this is the gym for you.

I’ve trained Muay Thai for 3 years prior to coming to LGMT from another Muay Thai gym. I have now been here for 3 months, and I love it here! The gym atmosphere is fun and relaxed, and what I consider to be ‘female friendly’ as not only do I feel comfortable here as a female, but they also don’t try and impose a dress code on us just because we’re female. Kru Chon is an amazing teacher, who has lots of patience, and keeps making corrections until we get each technique right. As I have ADHD, this type of teaching style is exactly what I need to finally learn the techniques correctly. In just 3 months I feel that my technique has already improved so much. The small class sizes allow for Kru Chon to give more individualized attention, not to mention the convenience of having a wide range of class times, and they are open 7 days a week, so I can easily fit my training into my busy work schedule. My goal is to fight competitively one day, and I have full confidence that LGMT will get me to that level. I highly recommend LGMT regardless of your Muay Thai goals, whether you are already a pro fighter who seeks the guidance and support of a 2x national champion, a novice fighter like me, or, you just want to try out Muay Thai as a fun way to improve your fitness.

If you’re looking for a serious gym that has an extremely friendly and positive vibe, this is it. Our kids have been training here for two months now and they love it. We have a kid in each class: Tiny Giants, Young Giants, and Teen Giants.

Every single class, Kru Chon and Coach Nate both bring the same experience, consistency and enthusiasm. They have the kids work on conditioning their bodies as well as work on technique. The difference in their strength and stamina has been incredible. I love how my kids are getting stronger and healthier as well as learning a practical life skill.

I also love how the kids are still having fun in class, playing games while also practicing good manners and sportsmanship. I couldn’t recommend this gym more.

There are adult classes offered throughout the entire week. Many professional fighters train here as well. So if you’re looking for yourself to compete or get healthier and stronger, or for your kids, this place fits all your needs.

I’ve been coming to Little Giant for two months and it’s one of the most inviting gyms I’ve ever attended, with instruction that exceeds any expectations you could have outside of training in Thailand. Kru Chon and Nate are fantastic, and teach Muay Thai as it should be taught - an insane workout & an art, playfully practiced. This isn’t a “bro” gym or a “fighters” gym (though there are serious fighters there) - it’s a community of people who love Muay Thai & working hard. And who like to laugh a lot.

Want to learn the art? There aren’t better teachers to be found in the DMV.
Want to get in shape? You will work harder than you’ve ever worked before.
Want to fight? Kru Chon won’t let you fight till he believes you’re ready, but when you’re ready he’s the best coach, friend, and corner man you could ask for.

I, and I know I’m not alone in this, would do almost anything for Kru Chon and Nate, not because they’ve created a cult like atmosphere, but because they’re loving, genuine, passionate people.

Kru Chon is the real deal! The classes are kept small on purpose, to allow for each student to get individual attention, and he tailors every class to the students of that class. Highly recommend you try classes with Master Chon! Hands down best place to learn and train Muay Thai at. Little back ground on me and then I'll explain why you need to try The Little Giant Muay Thai!!! I have had no real martial arts training at all except hapkido when I was like 6-7 HA. I had been wanting to get into Muay Thai for a year before I joined for 1. self defense 2. confidence 3. for longevity and health. When I finally set out to seek a gym I tried two places before joining TLGMT. The first place I tried had a "Fundamentals" class, I didn't feel comfortable or practically confident in, here I was with NO experience, didn't even know proper stance and your going into a class with 25- 30 people with 1 instructor. The partner I had the first class had some experience and at least helped me with the basics but to add to the frustration your going through 3-4-5 combo techniques. Needless to say not very good teaching for a beginner especially when the 1 instructor can only come around every so often. The second place I tried out was closer to home and offered a "Beginners" class again large class of 20 to 25 people 1 instructor. The warm up or "conditioning" was 10 mins of jump rope and then again going through 4-5 combo techniques and then at the end its " okay guys that's it, see ya" no burn out session or stretching at the end of class. And to make matters worse the whole trial period for this "beginners" class was Clinch work ( more advanced technique).

FINALLY my search for a gym stops when I found Master Chon and Nate!!! Nate was extremely helpful with answering my questions and sitting down with me and getting me set up with trial classes and pricing for membership. Master Chon was very welcoming and friendly and actually took the time to get to know me and other class mates better before class. The start of class was just as I'd imagine or seen training videos of gyms in Thailand with a warm up to get your muscles loose and your heart rate up. Then he took the time to go over the bare bones basics of Muay Thai, the stance, weight distribution on the balls of your feet. stance rhythm, how to move forward, back, left, right, Jab cross, Body kick. After that first class I fell in love with the sport and I knew that I finally found the gym to train at. Every class they try to keep small and that right there is the first place they stand out amongst the others. with the small classes Master Chon is able to give more attention to you. The second thing is He is going to make sure you have a solid foundation of the basics before throwing more advance techniques at you, he really wants to make sure you take your time, slow down and not rush so you have proper technique. The third thing that makes them stand out is they don't treat the gym as a Frat, everyone is welcomed no matter the skill range, your not expected to fight or be a fighter if that's not what you want to do, but if you do want to train to be a fighter they will help make you one. Not to mention Master Chon started learning this sport when he was 6 YO, lived and breathed Muay Thai, has fought 100+ fights in Thailand with an incredible Record! The time slots they offer work well for those who work those 9-5 hours, they have an AM class, mid afternoon and late afternoon, as well as hours on Saturday. I really can not express how happy I am to have found such an unique and amazing gym but also how much I enjoy this sport because of the teacher I have and the atmosphere. I can tell that this gym is going to really grow and is set to be the premier Muay Thai gym to train at in NOVA

I, like many others, first met kru Chon while training and competing in Thailand. At the time, Chon had his gym KC Muay Thai in Chiang Mai, and right from the beginning it was one of the most welcoming experiences I've had abroad. It was my first time in that part of the country and Chon went out of his way to make sure that my then girlfriend and I had everything we needed. He also made sure that we had a great cultural experience in addition to the high quality training. On Saturdays, for example, we would go for hard runs near beautiful places like wat phra that Doi Suthep and wat phra Doi Kham (pictured) - which I feel speaks to Chon's generosity and character.

If you're looking to learn authentic Muay Thai, there is no better source then from someone who has garnered their knowledge through experience and lived the life in the homeland of the sport. What helps distinguish Chon from many other Thai trainers however, is his ability to communicate. Chon's perfect english allows to him convey the subtleties and nuances of the sport which are often lost in translation. The things I learned from Chon served me well in many fights and now, as a coach myself, I have been passing this knowledge onto others.

The best gym is the one you'll go to most often, and between Chon's technical expertise and friendly demeanor, I have no doubts that once you try The LittleGiant MuayThai, you'll want to keep going back for more.

We met Kru Chon about 15 years ago in Thailand. We had been looking for a gym for our 14-year-old daughter to train. Most gyms were not willing to take on a 14-year-old girl, we were even laughed at. When we went to Kru Chon's gym, Phuket Muay Thai, he welcomed us with open arms, showed us around his gym and assured us that he would treat our daughter like his own. And he did. He was kind and professional, encouraging her to be her absolute best.
Fast forward five years, and we moved to Thailand for my husband's work. Our daughter began training in Bangkok with another trainer, but then we soon moved to Chang Mai where Kru Chon had a new gym. Our daughter started training with him again. He soon brought her up to a level where she could enter the ring.
I, myself, joined the gym in Chang Mai for exercise, at 49 years old. He let me work at my own pace as I gradually got into the best shape of my adult life. And though he knew I was never going to be a fighter, he helped me be my best giving me the same care and attention as he would any of his fighters.
At first, we were not aware that we were training with The Little Giant, a famous national champion. We just knew he was an awesome teacher and coach who genuinely cared about his students.
We have maintained our friendships with Kru Chon over the years. He always calls my daughter before her fights to give her last minute advice and encouragement, even though we live in Canada.
I recommend anyone who is interested in learning the Art of the Eight Limbs to seek out Kru Chon as he is the best teacher/trainer for people young and older.
