Emily and Joel are the real deal! I came to them almost a year ahead of my wedding wanting what most brides are after, to feel like their best self on their wedding day. From the first conversation it felt as if Emily really understood my stresses and what was standing in my way with my diet/nutrition and developed a very comprehensive and obtainable program for me. I’ve always been a workout 5-6 times a week person, typically grinding away at a high-intensity program and in the first three months of working with Emily, she had me focusing on my diet and minimal workouts. I was prioritizing gentle movement (yoga and walking) and honestly between that and getting my diet in check, I lost between 5-8 lbs. The programming Emily puts together is all mapped out so you don’t have to do any guessing or tracking which makes it all feel so much easier on your brain! The weekly check ins became therapeutic for me - Emily is a great listener and great at offering obtainable goals for the week.
Joel has also been great to work with, again, he starts with very easy to understand movement when it comes to the gym and prioritizing mobility movements in your lifts. I can honestly say I never did mobility movements when lifting and often suffered various body pains. When adding the mobility, I noticed a huge difference in not only my lifts but the way my body felt after. Joel’s programming also increases in intensity over the weeks which keeps the lifts in the gym interesting. He is available for form check videos which is incredibly helpful! Even on things you thought you were doing correctly, he can watch your videos and offer feedback on things I’ve never thought of. He’s extremely knowledgeable in the body and how it functions and I feel 100% confident in placing my lifts and guidance in gym in his hands.
Through the 8 months of programming I saw a noticeable difference in my body and more importantly in my mind. I’ve changed the way I view food and working out. Before it felt all consuming, now it feels like it works for me and my life. The knowledge I’ve gained in working with them both is invaluable. They are also so kind and fun to talk to, I always enjoyed my calls with them!! 10/10 would recommend!!

I'm over 50 and considered myself reasonably knowledgeable about nutrition and fitness, thinking that I was eating well and working out 5 times a week. However, I struggled to lose weight and, when I did lose it, to keep it off. Clearly, I had to learn new techniques since what I was doing wasn't working.
Working with Emily has been a game-changer. I've always had a problem with snacking on processed / unhealthy foods, but Emily created a nutrition plan that provided me with delicious snacks throughout the day and meals that were structured to keep me feeling full and satiated. This approach helped me avoid unnecessary snacking and unhealthy eating habits.
Emily's holistic approach nutrition went beyond just meal planning. We reset my approach to alcohol consumption, which was a significant factor in my weight struggles. The personalized nutritional plan she designed was effective and tailored to my needs, helping me build muscle mass while shedding body fat. In just four months, I lost around 17 pounds of body fat and gained muscle mass, a win I hadn't been able to achieve on my own.
Emily's support and expertise were invaluable. She was always available to answer my questions, provide motivation, and adjust the plan as needed. Her knowledge and genuine interest in my progress made the entire experience enjoyable and sustainable in the long term (i.e., I've made some lifelong changes).

I saw noticeable results on this program in just 4 weeks! In that timeframe I worked out less, slept more and felt like I ate more food than I had consistently done in years. I learned how to eat for fuel and energy in my daily life while still enjoying what I eat. The programming is so personalized and so is the weekly guidance from Emily. After 12 weeks I can honestly say I’m in the best shape of my life after turning 40 and having two kids! If you’re even remotely considering this, it is more than worth the cost.

I was ready to take up my health a notch. I started with training sessions with Joel and loved his philosophy and approach; optimizing sleep, eating properly, minimizing stress, then workout. He helped me feel confident in the workout I was doing and that I was doing the moves correctly. Having never really lifted weights as a routine, this has been key to my workout success.
And since I knew food intake was going to be so important and I really wanted to learn and bring the nutrition knowledge back to my family table, I also kicked off my meal coaching with Emily. I was uncertain at first but it's made such a big difference in my overall health success. I didn't realize it but while I already ate nutritious foods, I wasn't eating the right combinations and definitely not enough proteins. I loved Emily's approach because each week was a progression forward and a detailed meal plan that left room for no excuses and accountability. It's just what I needed.

I started working with Emily coming off of an injury and needing to stay in shape for work while not being able to workout. I'm so grateful for Joel and Emily! I always stayed away from similar programs because I was afraid I wouldnt be able to give it my all and fully commit but after one call with Emily I knew this program would be different. Not only did this 12-week program help achieve my overall goal of loosing weight and learning to eat healthy, but it also taught me about overall wellness: learning how to better manage my stress, take time to focus on myself like establishing a nighttime routine so I can get a better nights rest and on the importance of recovery. During the program I got COVID and went on vacation for a few weeks and was surprised I was still able to loose weight. And it was all because of the fact that this program is different than the rest, its just not only focused on excercise and eating healthy but focused on overall wellness.

I am so grateful to have found Trireme Fitness. Their program helped me tremendously this summer! There is never a "good" time to start and those were my famous last words as I had a lot of unexpected twists and turns throughout my program (work travel, food allergies, birthdays, illness, you name it!) but through it all, the dream team Emily and Joel coached me through best decisions and helpful tips. The best part about these two? They're normal people who understand normal people. They are here to be supportive in whatever your goals are but they are never judgmental or pushy. I cannot say enough good things about this program and these people! Emily and Joel are amazing, and so good at what they do. In 12 weeks, they helped me achieve fitness goals that I have been working towards for years, and even more importantly, they helped me regain a balanced lifestyle! Everything was catered to my goals and lifestyle, from exercises to meals. After years of putting my fitness and wellness on the back burner, it was challenging to make that a priority again — It is so easy to say, “I’m too tired” or “too busy,” but these guys kept me motivated and supported me every day, and every step of the way. Emily thoughtfully planned out all of my meals and snacks with quick, easy and filling recipes that were so delicious. She also coached me into better wellness practices from managing my sleep and hydration, as well as techniques to de-stress. Joel is so knowledgeable about body mechanics and has not only been able to help me target specific muscle groups, but has taught me how to perform movements properly that has helped avoid injuries. I absolutely love working with Joel and Emily! Before I started training with Joel, I was really overwhelmed and embarrassed to lift at the gym. I didn’t know what I was doing, so I ended up doing group fitness classes instead for years. Years later I still didn’t have the results I really wanted. I’ve been training with Joel for about 6 months now, and I can see noticeable physique improvements. I continue to PR at the gym and feel stronger than I ever have. I am soo much more confident at the gym now and I feel great doing my workouts!
Joel is hands down the most knowledgeable fitness professional I’ve ever met. He understands how every single muscle in the body is supposed to move and how to train it effectively and efficiently to improve physique. He shares sooo much of this knowledge with me every single time I work with him. It really helps to understand why you are doing an exercise as opposed to just being told to do it. Not to mention, he LOVES what he does. He thrives off your improvements, which is such a joy.
On top of all this, he and Emily are such nice people. They are kind, comforting to work with, easy to talk to, and totally on top of their business. Emily truly wants the best for her clients, and creates full menus with links to everything you need to make sure you stay on track. She spends a long time talking with you about your likes, dislikes and lifestyle before creating a nutrition program, and never programs something your lifestyle doesn’t accommodate.

One phone call with Emily was all it took to know that she was exactly what I needed to get back on track. I have been working with Joel now for over 5 years. The changes in my body are noticeable and fantastic.
Joel brings a level of excitement to every workout that I simply can not match on my own. Every session there is something unique and inspiring to me. I’m doing things in my late 50s I couldn’t have imagined doing in my younger years. I train with him twice a week and over the years as my goals change, he’s modified my workouts to help attain those goals.
What I like most about how Joel works is that every workout feels customized to me. I’ve never felt that I was being shoehorned into a workout that was designed for anyone else.
I cannot recommend Joel highly enough. His work ethic, his professionalism and his understanding of body mechanics are some of the best I’ve encountered.

Joel Brand is the absolute best! After working with him for 4+ years on strength training, I have (1) improved my work capacity, moving more weight with less breaks (2) better range of motion (e.g., deeper squats and lunges) and (3) I know how to perform movements with heavy weights to maximize the efficiency. And personally, I love working out with Joel because it feels like I'm using GPS, he knows what I should be working on and when, and designs my workouts for my body, my goals, and any accommodations I need on that day and time, which allows me to focus on what's in front of me, rather than having to refer back to a plan after every set. I couldn't recommend him more.

Working with Emily and Joel at Trireme Fitness was the absolute best experience I have ever had and was worth every single penny. I do not usually write reviews online, but when it came to sharing about my experience with them, I absolutely had to. Do not miss out on this opportunity, their approach to fitness + wellness is a game changer. I have been struggling with weight my whole life. I tried every single fad diet, low carb, keto, low fat, you name it-- I have tried it. I would lose and gain the same 15 pounds over and over. I reached a point where I felt I had to accept I would always be overweight. I started training with Joel and together we established my goals of physique change and got to work. Joel is incredible to work with, he is the most passionate and knowledgeable person about fitness you can find. He lights up when walking through the different exercises and explaining exactly what each movement will do for you and your goals, you've never had a stronger supporter in your corner than when you work with Joel. And if you're lucky, you'll get to hear one of his "Joel-isms" which are bound to make you laugh (a welcome break from working out). I tried managing my eating on my own and was getting stuck-- that is when I added working with Emily on nutrition/wellness. Combined with Joel’s programming – THIS IS WHERE THE MAGIC REALLY STARTED. Emily is the most compassionate, intelligent, and honest person you can work with. She approaches her work with a true desire to help you, but also is willing to tell you like it is when you need it. For me, Emily got me to the point of food freedom. I no longer felt trapped by food. Better yet, I fell in love with fueling my body with whole, nutrient dense, healthy food. In just 3 months of working with both Emily and Joel I lost 20 pounds and my physique is changing. My journey is really getting started and I could not be more excited for this beautiful, fit life ahead.
