I first visited Massanutten several years ago. What struck me about the property was the incredible conditioning of the golf courses and the attention to detail. At many similar resorts we have visited, golf seems to be secondary, but here at Massanutten, everything is first-rate. From the overall condition of the accommodations to the waterpark and golf courses, every amenity is top-notch.
While Mountain Greens is the resortβs championship golf course, Iβm not exactly sure how to classify Woodstone Meadows. The course features 9 par 3s, 7 par 4s, and two par 5s, so itβs not exactly an executive course. Heck, the two par 5s are longer than any par 5 on the Mountain Greens course! If thatβs not enough, the 400-yard, 5th hole says it all. Randy Armentrout in the pro shop will tell you that he scores better on the longer course (I heard that from several people).
Woodstone Meadows offers three sets of tees and plays to a par of 65. The Blue Tees play 5,065 yards, the Whites play 4,518, and the Forward Tees play 3,606. Iβm confident that one of those lengths will provide a challenge. Itβs a player-friendly golf course with wide-open fairways off the tees and gently sloping greens. If things arenβt going well, just take a deep breath and look at the scenery around you; itβs amazing!
As you play your way around the course, youβll find some good elevation changes, both up and down. Many tee boxes are elevated and play downhill to a wide fairway and then uphill to the green. Water comes into play on the majority of the par 3s and guards the green closely on a couple. The greens are in fabulous condition and feature subtle undulations, good speed, and roll true! Many greens are elevated with severe drop-offs on either side, which can make for an interesting up-and-down! Woodstone Meadows is a very forgiving layout and is the perfect course for beginners and casual golfers who just want to get outside and enjoy themselves.
The 3rd hole is the first par 5 and plays 458 yards from the White Tees. Aim to go over the checkered flag off the tee, and you may get some extra roll. Longball hitters who can avoid the two fairway bunkers on the right can go for the green on their second shot. The green is small, and a lot longer than it is wide. Three pot bunkers guard the front right of the green. Itβs a par 5 that can give up some low scores! Either way, itβs a fun golf hole!
Tyler, a starter I spoke with at Woodstone Meadows, favors the 6th hole. It's a short 284-yard, par 4 that plays uphill to an elevated green. There are two pot bunkers in the middle of the fairway in the landing area. Your choice is to hit your tee shot over them or lay up short. Either way, youβll have a short approach shot into a large, elevated green.
Number 17 is another fun little par 4 that plays 336 from the White Tees. The hole plays downhill from tee to green, so youβre going to hit your tee shot possibly farther than youβve ever hit it before. There are woods and water on the left; if you spray it to the right towards the condos, hopefully the net will save you!
Itβs safe to say that with everything the resort has to offer each season and the superior playing conditions of the golf course, Massanutten has secured its position as one of the premier all-season resort destinations on the East Coast.

Course is not very nice for the price (79) but maybe it's a gem in va. Be more honest about cart fees (15 each) in addition to greens fees. Tons of clovers, weeds, poorly upkept tee boxes. Greens were decent though. Starter was very friendly and brought carts to the car.

The Course was clean but was a very boring experience. To many par 3s back to back. For 79$ a person, I could of went somewhere else for the price or less and had a better time playing a par 3 course for 9$. Cart guy said we "Needed to hurry up and get our shit and Tee off because they were Booked up" We took a 30 min break to eat lunch and there was still no one behind us. Don't waste your money.

Thisnis a well kept course. Looks like they recently updated carts. We play both Fling golf and traditional. Fun for the family for fling golf. Paths are well maintained and food cart has a good selection. Cash is best as sometimes hard tondo trams actions in the mountains.

Played a round at Woodstone Meadows a couple weeks back and was initially very surprised to see the course not that packed for a 0900 tee time. The course was beautiful and very well maintained. We were surprised to see the course had 9 par three holes throughout, but that made it fun with side bets/closest to pin wagers. The staff in the Pro Shop were super nice and the facility was clean. Carts were clean, ready to go, even with Boo offering to ice down the cart cooler for your beverages. The Tee boxes were okay, but the well manicured fairways and beautiful greens were great. Played a great round of golf and had plenty of landscape to look at all around the course. Beautiful course and enjoyable with some fun challenges. Worth the money in my opinion. Moderately Priced. Great Staff. Would recommend this course to anyone of any skill level.

Played on a Saturday April 27th They charged me full price for unplayable recently aerated and sandy greens. I played Lakeview yesterday for less than a third of the price and the course was infinitely better maintained and had a restaurant. The views are not great, really short holes even from the tips. I recommend Lakeview as this place is a tourist trap.

Took my wife and two children to play golf for the first time. All we needed was one bag of clubs for us to use, but the rude clerk said that each person must rent their own clubs. To me, that is a waste of money and nullifies any hint of a family friendly establishment.

Woodstone Meadows is a great course. Fairways are kept very well, greens are perfect (ok a bit fast), and the staff, both in the Pro shop and Keepers are fantastic. Make you feel like a member of the course from the get go. Tony and Lee go out of their way to make your round awesome. Of course, they may treat the owners (which we are) a little different than the General Public, but I doubt it. All in all a great 65 par course to brush up your skills.

A very picturesque course. Play to par 65 with a mix of holes and lots of par 3s. Unfortunately, the fairways are cut too high, almost rough length. Even when freshly cut it is too high. The fringe around the green might be acceptable for a fairway. Very disappointing conditions for $75. Check out the photos.

Staff is knowledgeable and friendly but golf course is not very well maintained. The tee boxes were not cut and tee markers not moved in 3 days we played. The grass around the greens contained crab grass and not cut to even levels. The rounds of golf were expensive considering the poorly maintained golf course.

Gorgeous day to golf. Course is in excellent condition. The guys assisting with clubs and carts were super friendly. The pro shop - not so friendly. Its a tourist town and they probably get tired of people. It just surprises me that people can be so unfriendly when we as visitors are being friendly to them. Driving range in excellent condition as well. Our 13 year grew out of his clubs. Wouldn't let him use ours, which is fine. Only $9.50 to rent clubs which I thought was an excellent price. Everything about this course was fantastic. Just down one star due to the unfriendly staff in the pro shop.

Ladies, I would say this place was quite misogynistic for 2021. For reference, I used the white tees, was with 2 men, and we all kept up with each other.
The Players Assistant made quite a few comments to me such as how there was quite a bit of people behind us and letting me know where ladies tee was, asking if I was going to hit it on the green (I did, by the way), and if I saw the sign for "cart path only" (even though I clearly wasn't driving).
I will not be coming back here until there's a shift in culture.

A nice variety of holes with quite a few water hazards. A well maintained course, but the distance between some holes, which wind through and around multiple condominium complexes is challenging for walkers. This course is much more open than Mountain Greens and is located outside of "the Kettle" area of Massanutten Resort on rolling hills.

Looking at the reviews for this course illustrates clearly how many people donβt golf that golf here
The 70$ price tag you would expect a happy
Medium between a country club and a public course, but you get a course with a bunch of or 3s (only par 65) in a condition that it worth probably around 25$ for 18.
If youβre thinking about going here to play golf, simply just donβt do it.

Very disappointed with the customer service and with the apparent course policy. Played golf at 5PM. Got told at the 12th hole at 7PM that they were shutting down because of lightening (still haven't seen lightening...I think they wanted to go home early). Asked for a rain check and was told they didn't give rain checks at that time of day. So, let me get this. YOU forced me to stop playing and quote a policy like that??? Trust me, I understand the need for safety, and I am one of the first golfers to get off a course when there is lightening in the area but you were the initiator.
Two things: 1) The guy in the pro shop almost seemed excited to tell me he didn't want to give me a rain check, so he doesn't really know how to handle "unfortunate" situations which exhibits his lack of customer service skills and care for customers. 2) Think about it financially. You could have given me a 9 hole rain check, I would have come back on a different night and paid for 18 and you would have been money ahead! Great business policy; but, if that is how you choose to operate, it is your business to do so. It is also my business to choose which golf courses I frequent in the evenings after work some 3 to 5 times per week.
This probably won't change anything, but at least others will know not to play after 5PM if it might rain.

When you pay 70$ for 18 holes generally you have high expectations. The greens are my biggest complaint. Some things cannot be controlled due to weather. With that being said, perhaps the greens should not be expected to be prestine but they were simply awful. There were ant mounds on several, and others had huge spots with little to no grass on areas of the green. The tee boxes were also in rough shape. One last thing is that the nats and bugs are literally unbearable. This is perhaps not something they can entirely control but there are options. Cannot even hit a put on their horrible greens without breathing in bugs or having them in your eyes. Not to mention the gentleman handling the bags in the beginning was snarky and rude. Long story short find another course there are much nicer ones for much lower prices! Also note that there are something like 8 par 3s and 2 par 5s so keep that in mind as well.

This is our fifth year going. Always enjoy this time with family. But.... the golf experience was the worst.. paid hundreds of dollars just to be bothered by a lady on golf cart to tell us to hurry up.. For a vacation golf destination with a four some we were asked to let 4 groups of twosomes to play thru. We did with out hesitation. Still to be asked to hurried. Again for being a Full season golfer. The experience was uncomfortable.
