I have been coming to Worldgate for over 16 years and still love it. I only do water aerobics so I can’t judge other classes but the water aerobics program is great. Different classes, different instructors on 6 mornings of the week. The club staff is also great. Very friendly and helpful. For me it is the best way to start the day!!

I’ve been using the Worldgate Pool for nearly 30 years, and the current management is the best it’s ever been. The facility is always clean and well-run, and my evening swim is consistently relaxing. Special thanks to Erika, an outstanding lifeguard who goes above and beyond to keep the pool safe and welcoming. Her professionalism and kindness truly make a difference. It’s clear she takes pride in her work and cares about the people who use the facility. Highly recommend the Worldgate Pool.

The Wordlgate pool is an outstanding amenity, one of the reasons we have been members for years! Your lifeguard Erika does a great job supervising the pool activities and keeping all the swimmers safe, happy and "in their lanes".

The pool at Worldgate is well served by personnel such a Erika the Lifeguard , who performs her duties attentively and with good humor every day. Whether she is supervising kids splashing around, watching the swim instructors give lessons, or overlooking all the regular fitness swimmers that swim here as part if their exercise program, she keeps everything running smoothly. Every pool needs great lifeguards and staff like Erika help to make the Worldgate pool worthwhile.

Wanted to take a quick look around the club but they wanted to scan my ID.
When I objected the manager responded rudely so I left.
No other club asked me for an ID just to take a quick look and I signed up at one of them instead 😊.

Worldgate Athletic Club is a superb gym. I have been a member since it opened five years ago. Well managed, with great communications to provide lots of information and prevents surprises. It has a wide range of cardio and lifting equipment which is well maintained and in ample supply, so no one is waiting. Clean throughout. It has been essential to my success in losing 60+ pounds. Its personal training staff is great – specifically Glen Eversley.

Working with Glen Eversley has been fantastic. From our very first session, his professionalism and extensive knowledge were immediately apparent.

Glen continually evaluates, covering movement patterns, challenges and posture, to develop a truly customized program which evolves as appropriate. He demonstrates a deep understanding of exercise science and proper form, always explaining why we were doing a specific exercise and how it impacts my body. He continues to adapt my program whenever I might have an off day, ensuring we were always progressing safely and effectively toward my goals.

His communication style is exceptional. He is an active listener, patiently addressing all my concerns and questions without judgment, and helping focus on areas which are a priority to me. He has the unique ability to realistically motivate and inspire me, even on days when I know my workout could have been better, which has been crucial for my consistency.

He has superb professional and Interpersonal skills. Glen is consistently on time, organized, and fully present during our sessions, never distracted by his phone or other people. Beyond his expertise, his empathy and approachable nature have made me feel comfortable and supported. He is fully engaged in my well-being and success.

Thanks to Glen's guidance, I am seeing measurable and visible results and achieving goals I didn't think would happen yet. I feel stronger, and more confident, and am developing sustainable, healthy habits.

I offer my strongest personal recommendation for Glen Eversley to anyone looking for a dedicated, knowledgeable, and all-around exceptional personal trainer.

I’ve been a member here for a while, and while the facility itself has a lot of potential, I’m extremely disappointed with the lack of upkeep and attention to maintenance. For $80 a month, I expect working equipment and timely repairs, and that simply hasn’t been the case.

• Pelotons: Most of the adjustable seats and knobs are damaged and have been ignored for months.

• Treadmills: Several have been out of order with signs on them for months.

• Strength Machines: The plated military press has a broken height adjustment knob, and nothing has been done. Earlier this year, the seated plate loaded calf raise had the same issue, and it also sat broken for months before being addressed. The butterfly/rear delt machine was also out of service for months with nothing but a sign on it.

• Recurring Facility Problems: Every week there’s a new sign about something not working—the AC, the men’s whirlpool, the hot water, etc.

Meanwhile, I see staff working out downstairs often, but I rarely see staff actively checking or maintaining the equipment that paying members use. That is frustrating to watch when so much of the facility is in disrepair.

For $80 a month, every piece of equipment should either be in working order or fixed within a reasonable timeframe. The lack of urgency to keep things running feels like a joke at this price point.

I’m keeping my identity private because I don’t want to be singled out as a complainer, but I want management to know: if things don’t improve soon, I’ll be shopping around. REPFIT which has immaculate reviews down the street and the new Planet Fitness opening nearby are both options I’ll seriously consider.

If this review is ignored, I’ll be seeking guidance from their corporate office. This gym could be great, but right now it feels like paying premium pricing for neglected equipment.

I’ve been training with Ken Mierke for the past four months and the experience has been wonderful. Ken is a master trainer and he’s incredibly knowledgeable about the human body and nutrition.

He’s helped me get down to around 11% body fat, and for the first time in my life I can actually see my abs. I really like that he’s a proponent of time under tension using slow reps. It’s allowed me to lift heavy weight and feel comfortable doing so.

This is my gym! It's a great price point for a wide variety of fitness classes - and there's three levels of space with different equipment - and there's a pool where I can always do laps. They also havr fitness events and a day care, a truly great and kind front desk staff, lovely trainers (Rishi & Jauan are both fantastic) and just I feel so lucky I decided to come here to reengage in exercise.

I’ve been a member of this gym for the last 2 years and sad to be leaving! Overall I would give worldgate a 4/5 rating it’s on the more expensive side but the access to classes+pool+sauna+equipment makes it worth the $81 per month. Here is what I would consider pro/cons of this gym:

Pros:
- Diversity: This is a great place for people of all skill levels. You’ll never feel out of place or judged for not knowing exactly what you’re doing.
- Classes: The classes are great and there is something for everyone. Only thing to note is that the reformer Pilates classes are extra on top of your monthly membership.
- Facilities: The equipment and facilities are well maintained and always felt clean or that they were being monitored.

Cons:
- Gym etiquette: only about 10% of people wipe down their equipment or unrack their weights. Although there are signs that encourage people to do so almost no one does it, which makes some equipment undesirable or unusable. Before I left the gym they had recently put up signage to remind people to take care of the space but unfortunately didn’t see much change in the behavior of those in the weights area. Similarly bags are not allowed on the weight floor but people bring them and use it to reserve machines.
- Personal trainers: With your membership you are given a free personal training session. From my own experience and watching others the trainers generally do not focus on form and sometimes encourage people to lift in a dangerous and ineffective manner.
- Price: It is probably in the high tier of gyms in this area (minus lifetime and vida) and they have raised the price since starting, and will likely continue to
- No guest passes: unfortunately if you want to bring a guest to workout it’s about ~$10 per visit

This is one of the gym who has issue with lifting heavy with barefoot, calls it unhygienic ! What about people going butt naked in your hot tub taking no or partial shower Thats not? If you want to discuss this with me you can reach me Worldgate I can explain why you need to be bare foot when you lift weights. When you are talking about hygiene please
Focus on your other areas . Thanks!

I can't recommend Glen Eversley at Worldgate highly enough! As someone reentering the world of personal fitness, I was looking for a trainer who could push me toward my goals without overwhelming me, and Glen has been absolutely perfect.

We started with twice-weekly sessions in the early morning, and Glen's approach was so effective and enjoyable that I've now expanded to three sessions per week. What really impressed me was when I needed to adjust our session time to 5 AM (yes, that early!) - Glen accommodated the change without a single complaint and has maintained the same positive energy and professionalism even at that grueling hour.

Glen has an excellent ability to challenge me appropriately - pushing me to grow stronger while being mindful of my limits and fitness level. His training style strikes the perfect balance between motivation and patience, making each session both productive and something I actually look forward to.

If you're looking for a personal trainer who is flexible, professional, and genuinely invested in helping you succeed, Glen is your guy. He's made my return to fitness both successful and sustainable.

Very Lousy Accounting Staff. They have been charging me, though I requested them to cancel the account couple of months back. Unworthy accounting staff for a relatively good facility.

★ 4

Edit: Nice that they bought some jumpropes

Has a lot of gym equipment and decent swimming pool that sometimes are overfilled, great tennis courts, a hot tub , sometimes unnecessary equipment, but a lack of jumprope that work, needs more assisted pull up bars which are almost always used by someone, a waist strap for the push cart, heavier slam ball weights, and area for push carts.

Hey everyone, I want to share my experience with Worldgate Athletic Club so others are aware. When I first joined, the management clearly told me they offer two types of memberships: month-to-month and yearly. I chose the month-to-month plan, and they told me I could cancel any time with just a one-month notice.

But when I tried to cancel, they changed their story. They said I needed to give notice two months before or wait until the end of their billing cycle. That’s dishonest and misleading. It’s not a real monthly membership if you’re forced to pay extra beyond your cancellation request.

Also, the club is often not clean, the staff is not friendly, and sometimes the air conditioning doesn’t even work properly. Overall, I don’t recommend this gym to anyone. Be careful and don’t trust everything they say when you sign up.

Thanks.

Excellent Swim Lessons and Instructors!
Great place for swim lessons! Miss Pat is an amazing instructor—patient, encouraging, and truly effective. I was a non-swimmer who had tried learning three times before without success, but with her, I finally learned and developed a love for swimming.

Both my kids also learned from her. My daughter now swims competitively, and my son, who once had no interest, is on a swim team this summer. We trust the quality and safety of the program and highly recommend it to any family!

I’ve been training with Sarah at Worldgate Athletic Club for years, and in that time, I’ve experienced something close to a quiet revolution. I’ve lost 60 pounds. I’ve gained strength I never imagined. I used to struggle with pull-ups—now I can do nine, almost ten. That kind of progress doesn’t come from just showing up. It comes from training smart, and with someone who knows how to bring out your best.

Sarah brings a calm, steady presence to every session. She’s funny when you need lightness and intense when it matters most. Her approach is full-body and full-minded—core strength, flexibility, stamina, and control. It’s all there, layered in carefully. There’s no wasted effort. Just quiet encouragement, small course corrections, and a kind of focus that keeps you moving forward.

On my own, I tend to stop early—tired, out of gas. With Sarah, I finish the hour strong, sharper, and more capable. She helps me go further, train smarter, and build not just strength, but trust in my own resilience.

Worldgate is a great place for that kind of growth—low-key, well-equipped, and welcoming. It gives you room to try, to stumble, to rise. And with the right guidance, you do more than get through a workout. You come out stronger.

I’m grateful for the time, the care, and the quiet victories that have added up to real, lasting change.

Our family of four has truly enjoyed being part of the Worldgate Athletic Club, especially the swim lessons with Ms. Pat. After completing a semi-private session with her, our daughter gained the confidence and skills to join a local swim team. Our son has been taking lessons with Ms. Pat since October 2024 and looks forward to them every week. She’s warm, approachable, and incredibly flexible with scheduling, which has made a big difference for our busy family.

We’re so grateful for the positive impact she’s had on our children—and for making their swim journey such a joyful one.

I was a member of this gym on and off for years. So many options for exercise, and the pool was great, too. But what keeps me committed now is private Reformer Pilates sessions. Just as I was about to cancel my membership (again) because I just couldn't find the time to make it in, the manager suggested I use a Pilates package I had purchased.

And then I met an amazing trainer, Sarah Hazelton.

I couldn't make it to the gym to work out on my own before, but finding Sarah and Pilates has been life-changing. Truly. I now never miss a session, and I come in two or 3 times a week. I don't know how I'd function without this amazing combo of a trainer who truly cares about me and is a pleasure to be around with a new way of exercising that I was so scared to try on my own for so long.

To finally be caring for my health as a mom of two and to have a place and a person that make it so much fun is the greatest gift of all.

Her passion for Pilates is contagious, and she creates an environment that is both motivating and fun. I truly look forward to her classes and always leave feeling stronger and more balanced.

I hope Worldgate continues to invest in instructors like Isabelle who bring such talent, dedication, and innovation to the program. She’s a true asset to the team!

Learning swimming at world gate has been one of the best decisions we have taken for our kids. We looked around several swim places and ended up finalizing world gate after talking to Pat. The pool facility is great to learn and practice. My daughter had a scary experience at a water park prior year and she was scared to learn swimming. We were Looking for a coach who can be at her level , who can make her comfortable , give her enough confidence and at the same time teach her swimming skills. I am very pleased with the way Pat taught swimming to our both kids. She has the right balance of patience , love and discipline to teach kids. Very thankful to learn from Pat.

As a member for almost a year now, I can say unequivocally that the Worldgate Gym as a facility is probably 3 to 4-stars (needs some renovations and updates: like new tile around the pool and pool walls, ventilated lockers so cloths dry better, etc). I gave it 5-stars because of the people, as that is truly the distinguisher between all these types of places.

In 2024 I had a major health crisis. Suffice it to say the Dr's recommended hospice care and I told them to go pound sand. Now, through an enormous amount of work and with the support of my husband, some new Dr’s, and joining Worldgate Gym (for the year-round ability to swim) and Worldgate Spa (google rated separately), I am now healthy as an ox.

I was paired with Personal Trainer Berke Torun when I first started and who has truly become like a family member to me!! He has been dedicated, understanding, patient, and extremely knowledgeable on how to take my sorry butt from unable to walk a flight of stairs to now where I routinely exercise 15 hours/week between mobility, balance, strength, cardio, and swimming. And in addition, I can now freely do chores around the house and work a full schedule in my office.

His dedication and care to my whole of body repairing approach has literally helped save my life. If he doesn’t know a specific thing my Drs or Physical Therapist notes, he figures out how that impacts our workout routines and even the dietary plan he developed for me if need be (no easy task given what he had to work with).

I can also state that from the manager, Mickael, Training Managers Brendan, and Randi to the front desk folks like Chris, Marvin, and Albert as well as Carol our awesome pool lifeguard (who’s always helping me when I need it). I would also be remiss if I didn’t mention our deep swim coach, Ecris who has been so patient with me as I try to come up to speed with other folks in the class.

Now with all that being said, yes you can find fancier, maybe more or maybe less gym amenities, maybe more or maybe less monthly dues, but you cannot find these folks at those gyms…I chose the people at Worldgate and you'll be glad you did too!!

A Decade-Long Journey with This Amazing Gym

I've been a member of this gym for over a decade now, and I can honestly say it's been one of the best investments in our family's health and wellbeing. Even when the management changed from the original Sport and Health Group, the quality and professionalism have remained consistently outstanding.

The swimming instructors here are absolutely amazing – especially Pat Murakami, who has truly become like extended family to us. She's been teaching both my kids for over four years now, starting with my daughter and now my son. My kids absolutely love going to their swimming lessons because both Ms. Pat and Mr. Joe make it such a positive experience. What makes Pat so special is how she really gets to know each kid and adapts her teaching style to what they need. Thanks to all the foundational skills Pat taught her, my daughter can actually hold her own against boys who are three years older! Once the kids master freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly with Pat, she moves them into Mr. Joe's group classes. The kids adore Joe too – he knows exactly how to keep them engaged while pushing them to compete at the next level.

The facilities are always spotless – seriously, the bathrooms and locker rooms are cleaner than most hotels I've stayed at. But what really sets this place apart is how they actually listen to what members want. Over the years, I've watched them add new equipment and even change up the courts to accommodate things like pickleball and badminton when people started asking for them.

What I really appreciate is that they don't follow some cookie-cutter program like a lot of other places. The kids get real one-on-one attention for 30 minutes if they come regularly, which has made such a difference in building their strength and technique. The only thing I'd change is having a few more lanes set aside just for training during the winter months when the pool gets pretty crowded.

I wholeheartedly recommend this gym to families seeking long-term fitness partnerships – the kind of place that grows with you over the years.

We are so grateful for Pat Murakami! She's not just a fantastic coach but also an incredible person. Her patience was evident the moment we started with her. Our younger son initially struggled with getting in the pool and would often cry, while our older son frequently got distracted wanting to play. Pat built wonderful relationships with both of them, making them feel safe and confident in the water. She tailored the lessons to meet their individual needs and helped them continue to become stronger swimmers. They now both love swimming and swim on our local swim team!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Pat! When I started taking swimming lessons with her two years ago, I was absolutely terrified of water—so much so that I wouldn’t even take a bath. Today, I can swim comfortably and actually enjoy being in the water, something I never thought would be possible for me.
Pat is a truly exceptional instructor—patient, kind, warm, and incredibly encouraging. She met me exactly where I was, never rushed me, and always made me feel safe and supported. Her sense of humor and positive energy helped ease my fears, and her calm confidence gave me the trust I needed to take that first step into the water.
I took lessons on and off depending on my schedule, and Pat was always understanding and flexible. Her dedication and belief in me never wavered. Thanks to her, swimming has gone from being one of my greatest fears to something that brings me joy.
She is a gem of an instructor and a truly remarkable human being.

Pros:

Decent basic selection of machines, and never gets too crowded.

Decent cycle room that's always accessible.

Offers childcare with actual childcare staff not just some random people like they do at LA Fitness. The staff seems caring enough which I appreciate.

Cons:

Childcare area is old, unclean and lackluster compared to the Y, LifeTime, etc. especially for the kids up to age 5.

Some group class instructors are so lackluster it absolutely takes away from the joy of the workout.

I have never received a smile back from a single one of their staff members. Not a trainer, not the front desk, not even the people who work out here. Not sure why everyone's mean mugging 😂

Illusion of affordable only because they've broken up their membership cost into 20 different add ons, so the nickel and dime business model.

You have to bring your own lock. You have to check out towels from a vending machine. If the machine doesn't recognize you returning a towel, you get charged for it. The guy who sold me the membership treated me like I was lying about it and I didn't feel like fighting over a $10 charge so I'm just going to let them charge me, and will never dare to use their towels again.

Their pool area is gross. The pool is strongly chlorinated and the smell won't leave you for days. The tile surrounding the pool is absolutely filthy.

I've been going to this gym for about five years. I've never had any problems. Unfortunately, today I had a bad customer service. The girl who worked today's 12 pm shift was so rude. The funniest thing is that she was the one who charged me double for the month of April. She doesn't allow me to speak to the manager via phone. I hope! I can get my money back this week. I hope the gym can try to train its staff well, so they can become good customer service.

This is a nice club, however, there are a couple of things that make people very uncomfortable:

1. They turn off the steam more than half an hour before the club's closing time every evening.

2. There are always some people who use cell phones inside the locker room and even in the sauna room.

I believe people complained to the club management so many times, they never did anything about those.....

Review of Worldgate Athletic Club – Trainer Colin

⭐️ (1/5 stars)

I feel compelled to write this review after my disappointing experience at Worldgate Athletic Club, primarily due to the aggressive demeanor of Colin, one of the directors and trainers there. While the gym itself is well-maintained and offers a variety of equipment, my interactions with Colin have overshadowed any positive aspects of the facility.

From the moment I started training with Colin, it became clear that his approach to fitness is more about intimidation than inspiration. His aggressive style is off-putting and, frankly, unpleasant. Instead of being encouraged to push my limits, I found myself constantly on edge, dreading each session. Colin often raised his voice, making comments that felt more like personal attacks than constructive criticism. This kind of environment is not conducive to growth and made me question my decision to join the gym.

Moreover, Colin has a troubling tendency to overstep boundaries. There were multiple instances where he invaded my personal space, offering unsolicited physical adjustments that left me feeling uncomfortable and vulnerable. While some trainers may need to provide hands-on guidance, Colin's approach felt invasive and disrespectful. It’s disheartening to feel like I have to be on guard during my workouts instead of focusing on my fitness goals.

His behavior also seemed to extend to other members of the gym. I witnessed him belittling individuals who were struggling, creating a toxic atmosphere that discouraged rather than motivated. Fitness should be a safe and supportive journey, but Colin’s aggressive management style made it anything but that.

In summary, my experience with Colin at Worldgate Athletic Club has been overwhelmingly negative. I believe that a gym should foster a positive environment for all its members, and unfortunately, Colin's presence has had the opposite effect. I cannot recommend training with him and urge the management to reconsider how he interacts with members. If you’re looking for a supportive and encouraging workout environment, you might want to look elsewhere.

I am simply writing this because this was such a horrible experience! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND A WOMAN TO JOIN THIS GYM. I was using a treadmill when an employee, COLIN, approached me regarding phone use in the gym. I acknowledged the policy and explained that I was briefly checking with my husband, who had just landed in a combat zone for a military deployment, and we had not yet spoken.

Despite this, COLIN proceeded to physically take my phone from the treadmill stand and also turned off the treadmill while I was actively walking. This reckless action posed a serious safety risk, as I could have fallen, and was also a blatant invasion of my privacy.

Following the incident, I brought the matter to the attention of the manager and requested an apology from COLIN but Instead of showing any professionalism or remorse, he was unapologetic, insensitive to the situation, and acted in an unprofessional and rude manner.

This behavior is completely unacceptable. No member should be subjected to such treatment in what should be a safe and respectful environment.

PLEASE DO NOT GO TO A GYM WHERE THE EMPLOYEES TREAT THE CUSTOMER IN THIS MANNER!

This is my experience as a person who cares about tennis and accessibility of tennis courts, Jan 2025.

I signed up on their deal for $119 year round for two people mainly for the tennis courts. Even with a membership there is a $25/hr fee 9-4 pm then $34 from 4pm after. With a second tier membership for tennis where you pay $130 a month to get $10 off per hour for court reservations. All this while kind of annoying not too much of an issue. But let's say you and a buddy wanna go but your buddy doesn't have a membership well then they have to pay $15 just to come in and play for a maximum of 2 hours since that's all they allow you to reserve. So if you play 2 hours you'll pay the $25/$34 an hour fee then have to pay $15 for each person who isn't a member joining you.

With a regular membership you're allowed a 24 hr window to book so if it's today is Friday I can ONLY book for Saturday. Unless I pay them that $130 a month then I can book a Wednesday session on that Friday instead.

Me personally I couldn't stand for this and had to cancel because it's just kind of ridiculous. Everything else about them is subpar. Lockers require you buying your own lock unlike LifeTime. Some showers have shampoo conditioner and body wash and others just have body wash and conditioner. They have a weird robot distribution for towels but if you're done you have to leave the changing room to put it away there isn't a bin for used towels IN the changing room.

Just spend the extra money on LifeTime because at least they give you a crazy price but include everything not require you to pay for each extra thing you want like classes.

World Gate has been my main gym for at least 3 years now. It's not the cheapest gym I could go to but for all the facilities and options offered plus the proximity to me, I cannot find another. The membership price is reasonable considering all of the facilities. However, it's not reasonable if you don't use all the facilities! Sometimes, I feel like I'm paying for some stuff I'm never interested in using - like the racketball rooms, the spa, yoga classes, dance classes, etc. There's another gym that's like 2 minutes away from me and costs like 50% of World Gate but they don't have a sauna which is essential to me.

The facilities that I use regularly are the weight room, the sauna, and showers. I do like having the ability to swim sometimes if I want to. World Gate has a lot of options. I don't enjoy the price I'm paying but I also do not see another gym with all my non-essentials at a better price so I continue to go here. What's missing though is the actual cold plunges - not cryotherapy chairs. If they can manage that, I'd not be complaining about my membership price. I'd have everything I need.

Worldgate Athletic Club offers a great variety of machines and classes, and I really appreciate how clean they keep the gym. There's always someone around making sure the space is spotless, which is a big plus. My only complaint is that I wish members were more mindful about putting back their weights, and some of the machines could use an update. Overall, I recommend this gym for anyone looking for a clean and well-maintained facility with plenty of workout options.

I’ve been a member at Worldgate Athletic Club for a while now, and I’ve got to give credit where it’s due—the club itself is fantastic. The equipment is solid (even if the Technogym machines feel a little light sometimes, they’ve held up), and the variety of classes and workout options are spot on. Plus, Rishi is the best personal trainer around. He’s laser-focused on helping you reach your goals and doesn’t waste any time. If you’re looking for results, he’s the guy to go to.

But let’s talk about the locker room—and specifically the behavior in there, which is on another level of bad. First off, people treat the space like their personal grooming station. I’ve seen guys trimming their beards, shaving their heads, and clipping their toenails at the sinks and on the benches. It’s not just gross—it’s straight-up disrespectful. They leave hair and toenail clippings all over the place like they think someone else is going to clean up after them. It’s disgusting, and it makes the locker room feel like a mess.

Then there’s the whole phone situation. Despite the big signs saying “No Phones,” people are constantly on FaceTime in the sauna and hot tub, acting like no one else is around. It’s awkward, intrusive, and completely out of line. And speaking of the sauna, some folks think it’s a good idea to hang their sweaty gym clothes in there to dry out. As if that wasn’t bad enough, it leaves the whole place smelling rank—like sweat, ass, and everything else you don’t want to deal with after a workout.

Worldgate is an amazing gym, no question. But the locker room behavior really needs to be addressed. If people could just respect the space and follow basic rules, it would make the whole experience so much better. Still, for everything else—from the equipment to the classes to Rishi’s killer training sessions—it’s worth it. Just be prepared to dodge some bad locker room habits.

I waited for about 40 minutes LOOKING AT PEOPLE COMING AFTER ME GETTING A TOUR and then I asked another gentleman working there of how long it would take and turns out they hadn’t even scheduled me for a tour yet and then they took my ID and told me it would take another 20 minutes for someone to show me around.

This is something which I did not expect from a club like this. They have lost a potential customer right here.

I love this gym, I really do. The employees are all so kind and helpful I have never had any issues with them. I love how they are constantly trying to improve and add machines to meet members needs. I have one and only huge complaint though. I have had a membership in almost every single gym in this area before. I have never seen such a bizarre rule, which btw was never there till the most recent past several months. Having a sauna at the gym I’m using
Is the biggest determining factor of
Mine. It’s hard to find motivation to go to the gym but the one thing I look forward to
Is sitting in a sauna with my music and finally relaxing after a long day. Sometimes this is all I look forward to because it’s so peaceful for me. I’ve never been unable to
Bring my phone into the sauna… however apparently there was some incident with somebody being accused of recording in there? I’m not sure this is just what I heard. Anyways I am
Mindful not to take any pictures or videos in there even of myself. I usually also tuck my phone away and I don’t even use it besides to change the song I’m playing. Anyways I have been HARASSED by older women who decide to have their entire bush out in the open. I have tried to respectfully speak to them and tell them I am not interested in recording you I am Just listening to My music. They have still continued to be rude. My thing is right, if you choose to be naked in a public space, you risk that exposure. If you are uncomfortable with the 1% chance some weirdo would want a video of your saggy goods, then don’t have everything out for show. I have NEVER heard of a gym with this rule and if they decided to Make this a rule they should ALSO provide locks for the locker room built in. I’m Sorry but if I don’t have a lock or Forgot it one day cause I’m coming straight from work, I am NOT leaving my phone outside somewhere. I have legit never gone to a gym where people make having your phone in the sauna into a crime. This is my meditation in my day and it’s disheartening to deal with cranky Karen’s in there.

UPDATE: AS OF 3/12/24: THEY HAVE NOW ADDED A NUDE REQUIRMENT FOR THE SAUNA. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED ANY CLOTHING, OR UNDERGARMENTS IN THE SAUNA. they require you to SHOWER at their facility and take off all your clothes. First of all, im muslim, I am NOT comfortable striping naked. female or not, that is WEIRD. this is a family GYM. men have accidentally walked into the locker rooms all the time. this has added an extra unnecessary amount of inconvenience for me. This is not only non-inclusive towards Muslims in the month of Ramadan too where we especially practice modesty, but it just flat out weird. I do not know a single family gym that does this and this has led me to want to switch gyms. they did not consider my review, infact tightened up sauna regulations, which was my #1 concern with what gym i ultimately joined to begin with. we should be able to listen to our music after a workout in the sauna, fully clothed. I have taken this to social media and placed a poll on the public opinion and 98% of people in the area also agree that this is VERY odd.

I am not a complainer at all, do not like to leave bad reviews and do it very rarely!!! However I want to share my experience…. My husband and I joined this facility 2 months ago, we have decided to give it a chance. We have had a tour, from far we like the place and got a membership quickly. However, after a few times coming in, my husband realized that equipment was not located in a smart way to use it, not by grouping how it must be!!!! I am as a woman saw how dirty facility is and old, it requires a lot of remodeling and updates. As an example, starting from shower heads, which most of them have very low water pressure, and they are installed extremely low, I am 5.7 and I needed to band my knees to wash my head, and this is during my pregnancy and being an average person which is not really tall…. Who saw tall people, will understand what I am talking about!!! The cleaning lady was talking more during her working hours than cleaning …. The ceiling fans have so much dust on it, even at a few places it was hanging there…. disgusting, locking spaces never were wiped inside, I have been using one of them all the time, just to check if it will be ever touched… and here it is, NEVER!!!! The steam sauna was suddenly turned off/did not work at all without any notification, when I asked, no one knew what it is going on or they just apologized …. AND one more thing, - important one, I have never seen in all my life a facility where people do not respect rules on such high level. Let me explain, in the pool where it says you have to be in swimming clothes, I saw people in right the same clothes after the workout, I saw people in polo shirts and regular shorts, how others supposed to know that man did not come in his working clothes right to the pool. I saw Indian women in dresses in a pool, I understand culture and respect it, however everything must be in time and in appropriate place!!!! I saw in the women area they have been in underwear…. Disappointment!!!! And probably I would remember something else…. But I will stop at this point… think wisely and make your own decision!! About people who complained that they did not have a tour and do not have a membership now, listen, think from this perspective - you are lucky, everything happens for the certain reason!!!

It’s a shame because they have some great tennis coaches (ie. Jason and Dan) but the courts are always dirty (literally trash left and debri all over the courts). Lighting is also terrible. If they tinted the windows so the sun doesn’t blind you on one side and updated the bad fluorescent lighting, the tennis courts would be a lot more popular. They’re more expensive than Ashburn Village and IdaLee and can’t compare.

Less options for kids and also some strange rules which they follow rigidly. My 4.5 years old daughter wanted to play with her 5 year old friend but due to some age specific room they did not allow both girls in same room. Not sure what difference 4.5 and 5 year old they are seeing.

Been coming here back since it was owned by Sport and Health pre-COVID. This place went downhill for a long time and I was skeptical when they went through new ownership but whoever is running this place now is doing an incredible job. Staff is always friendly, welcoming and helpful. Facilities are always clean. Nothing else you can ask for in my opinion. They've even gone above and beyond with additional equipment like free pelotons and member massage chairs.

What Emily Ortega is saying does not surprise me. Today, I called to ask if I could be given a tour and a woman with a British/South Asian accent said that I needed to sign up to the gym in order to get that tour. There is no way to try it out! She
kindly offered me to pay $25 dollars to buy a 1-day pass. 🤭

She said that they do it that way due to liability reasons and because they are a member-only club.

How are you going to have new members if you are playing it too safe to distrust the people interested in joining?

This gym seems to have some cultural-clash problem coming from its management!

So Emily, they probably saw you as a liability and decided not to proceed with you. They also decided not to be upfront with you, so you would not take legal action against them? 🤢

Look at their Instagram; one month they post: “become a member for $29”and two months later they post the same, but this time for $49. Now they have a $69 Groupon, but the link is broken.

Extremely shady, creepy and sneaky experience!

When I went to get a tour no one was there to do it and I gave myself a self guided tour. I loved the facility. Since then, I have tried to sign up 4 times and every time nobody is able to help me, no exaggeration. I’ve gone twice in person and they said no one was there to do it , and twice over the phone, with promises that someone would reach out and no one has. I still do not have a membership. Very frustrating I’ve never seen a gym that doesn’t want membership money.

I've been going to this gym on-and-off for the last 5 years. It is well regarded as one of the best, well-maintained gyms in the area. All my experiences have been very nice and the staff is great. The gym is very spacious with countless programs and resources to improve your health and well-being.

It is also friendly towards all age-groups. Coming from high-schooler, I've seen all types of people working side-by-side at this gym.

I do think there can be some improvements, such as lowering the age-requirement for guest passes, but no real complaints. Very glad I got a membership this summer. Quality gym!

I love the place
I have been 2 months withe this gym but i’m not liking the leges ( corners or work out areas not been clean
Lot of dust every corner
Is hard to leave a towel with out getting dust on your face later
I see the cleaning guy only on tv
A manager should validate this
Also your water filter is not good
It been like that for a week

Fantastic place with great location and free parking.
Staff is very friendly and was quick to assist us without being annoying or trying to sell us anything.
Looks like they just went through a major renovation and it shows!
I accidentally found the place there in Google Maps and was looking to play tennis indoor since the weather was extremely hot. They have three indoor tennis courts (hard), ball machines for rent and virtual judge software.
There is also towel service, dry sauna and steam room.
Make sure to bring your own lock

June 2023 Update:
Not sure what happened, but the change in management seems to have had detrimental effects to this gym. Hiking membership prices without notice is pretty scummy. I wouldn't recommend anyone new to join this gym it's just not worth it. The equipment renovation was useless when they still have subpar and rusting machines. In the last year I have seen: 6 treadmills, 2 (all of them) cable machines, fly machine (new and the only one by the way), leg press machine, and other equipment out of service for extended periods of time. They add all these new amenities (and expect you to pay an extra fee on top of the monthly subscription) but won't replace aging and defunct equipment. Not a single piece of equipment doesn't have an issue. The benches shake and wobble, machine weights have uneven resistances, everyone waits on the same cable handles since all the other ones are broken or frayed, the weight belt is just gone and never replaced. Look at the pictures from their google reviews in 2016. Almost all of the lifting equipment (aside from weights) is more than 7 years old. Same benches, same leg press, same everything. It's all falling apart. Only saving grace is the staff honestly.

Great facility, great equipment, and great staff. Amenities and accessibility of classes, private coaching, and sports facilities are top notch. Place is spotless and it makes working out a breeze. Only thing is the pricing is a little bit rigid and is not built for people who won't be using the athletic center for long periods of time. 80/90 a month is wayyy too much.
Some highlights of the gym:
-3 squat/deadlift platforms with bumpers
-4-5 flat benches
-2 smith machines
-great dumbbell selection
-wide assortment of cable machines
-boxing area
-just an enormous, almost unnecessarily so large, number of cardio equipment.
-great stretching area and indoor track
-multitudes of sport facilities (don't remember specific number of courts etc.)

Cash grab. The court, which was a main selling for me and my son has been closed for nearly two months and after countless delays it turns out they took all that time to color the court an ugly blue color. Now I just learned that the courts are going through more renovations which I can only pray will not be delayed. During the renovations the only option for my son to play basketball was the kids klub, and on the door to the kids klub it said they had open use outside of the program hours. However not only was the hoop lowered, but upon asking staff for help, they would make lame excuses and not satisfy our concerns. Bad customer service. Adding to this, the courts can now be reserved, meaning less time for gym goers to use the courts. In conclusion, not only is the customer service terrible, but the management and consistency is also terrible. I would not recommend this gym to any basketball players who want a consistent place to play at.

What a waste of time and money. They were renovating the court for a month which was one of the biggest selling points for me and now its an ugly blue color. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. I don’t understand why the court needed to be “renovated” when it was perfectly fine.

Absolutely disappointing. So money-grabbing, and some workers there with bad attitudes. Dirty locker rooms and pool. Basketball courts are slippery and most definitely not swept and cleaned. Very inconsistent rules and management. Scammed to an extent- They shut down the basketball courts for 3 weeks, then after everyone is excited to come back, without notice, they shut them delay it for a week, then they did it again! It is still not open to this day! And what's so disappointing is that I don't see any new additions other then them adding primer to the floor. Very disappointed. They also do not reply to emails when your in need of help, and when you ask them in person, they say you have to email them. Very poor customer service. Would like a refund for at least this month because they took away one of the main reasons I go to the gym and many others. DON'T GO TO THIS GYM, ESPECIALLY FOR THE PRICE.

This club is a solid value for this area given under $100...if into racket sports you cant find better.

What is frustrating is the men's locker room hot tub is at best a 50/50 proposition to be in service! I'd say a quarter of the weekends (peak time that clubs prepare for) you often don't have a working hot tub. Out of service for a week or more isnt very rare Last weekend they claimed clorine issue. Still down. What did they not buy enough fundamental supplies? Completely weak!

I decided to join this gym and pay more because they have a pool and hot tub but the water always smells really bad and I’m itchy after being in there (even after a long shower). That water is not clean and not safe for the skin. I don’t think I’ll be a member much longer.

Do not fall into Worldgate’s trap, the monthly-based membership means no commitment and you can cancel anytime. Well, it’s not as easy as you think. Once they have your automatic recurring payment on file you’ll be charged and there is NO WAY to cancel your membership.
They’ll refer you to their email address which is set up for that sole purpose but you’ll never get a response.
I sent 5 emails for 2.5 weeks with zero responses!
I was so frustrated since I’d moved miles away from that place but I managed to go back to the club on my day off and show them the proof of my communication, their answers still was recommending the email follow up
It’s like they hear you but they enjoy seeing you frustrated.
I finally canceled my automatic recurring payment through my bank account.
On top of that, this club is not worth the money.
It’s big and spacious but lacks essential equipment.
Another big problem with this facility is combining all sports in one place so as a result, you’ll experience a crowded and noisy gym where it’s so difficult to focus on your workout.
6 Tennis courts upstairs and a basketball court on the same floor, 8 squash courts where ppl make a lot of noise and ruin your workout.
There’s a TRX and CrossFit section on the second floor which is surrounded by a running track, most of the time people are walking on this track talking to each other or are individuals who are walking and talking to their phones on speaker phones!
If you are looking for a crowded and noisy gym where nothing is in its right place and they never stop charging you, you are welcome here is the Herndon Worldgate Athletic club!!
