This "24 hours" gym is a complete joke. First off they will market it as a 24/7 gym but holidays its either closed completely or closes at a laughable 2pm when its least convenient for anyone just to checkmark on their calendar it was "open".

Second, the condition of this gym is a serious health concern and the fact they try to market it as a higher tier gym is comical. Men's bathroom is in worse condition with every day. Urine smell each and every day. All the floors are wet, and I mean always wet. All the countertops are wet. Clogged toilets, busted equipment. The list goes on and on. Water fountain hasn't been changed what looks like 10 years, heavily stained falling apart and usually clogged. Cardio machine never cleaned, you can physically see layers of dust collected. I'm surprised no one hasn't called the Health Department, because I sure will be very soon.

I enjoy going to the gym just because it is closer to my house and work and some of the other places are for the most part it's clean with the exception of the bathrooms. Either they get dirty very quickly or they don't have people checking the bathrooms especially the men's. I had a friend getting incredibly sick from not only the gym equipment probably because people aren't wiping them down, especially when the fluid bottles are empty for hours. The bathrooms are atrocious too. My husband went last week and also reported that the bathroom was incredibly dirty.

The women's bathroom looks OK kinda. Sometimes there's random pieces of garbage and hair on the walls and other things every once in a while but for the most part it's clean. I just wish the men's would get the same attention as well as maybe a quick wipe down of all the equipment throughout 24 hour fitness. It's not safe enough for me to use them

Dirty locker rooms and a lot of broken machines. Today I tried 2 different machines that weren’t already marked as out of order that didn’t work so I decided to start going to a different location even though it’s further away.

Edit: the machine repair seem to be getting better, but there is still a black mold issue in the locker rooms, the sauna is still pretty dirty (used band-aids and a slimy layer on the floor), and I keep seeing other customers go straight from the sauna to the hot tub without any accountability.

Great place to workout, clean and very friendly staff. Quantity of stairmasters is great however they need to be replaced, 80% of them are broken on any given day. Wear and tear on a lot of the machines (foam poking out of cushions)
Other than that the staff is wonderful and definitely deserve a raise! Tate and Diane always make people feel very welcome.

Been going to this gym for 5+ years. While it’s true the gym is older and has seen better days, the place is kept clean and the staff they hire are all amazing. It's been awhile since I've been a member here and currently back on a 3 day pass. I currently go to crunch Fitness and they have set hours and the past few times the front desk person didn't show up at 5 a.m to open nor were they there at 830. So I came to 24 hr Fitness where they are always open. So it looks like I am going to be coming back to 24.
The new manager Gayfee is doing a phenomenal job making excellent changes to majorly improve the gym and atmosphere. I can hands down easily recommend coming here not just for weights but the trainers, pickle ball, and more

We moved back into the area and my husband stopped by for a 3 day pass to help us decide if we still wanted to go to 24hr. The front desk graciously gave us the online advertised 3 day pass and shortly after that we got an extremely rude and pushy call from a
sales assistant who was trying to bully us into coming back in to the gym and signing up right then. I was pretty floored by the nasty attitude. Definitely not going to that gym. Signed both of us up for the next year at a 24hr fitness a little farther away but where the whole team we came across was friendly and welcoming.

Seeing these reviews talking about the cleaning and they are just wrong, the only thing good about this 24 hour. These reviews arent telling you how gross the members are, the maintenance team is in here 6 days a week cleaning and working non stop. It’s the members who are disgusting in the bathrooms, never pick up after themselves and don’t follow any rules, breaking the steam room and other machines. That’s why the staff is so mad, because no matter what they do no one here follows the rules or picks up after themselves. But management here needs to replace a lot of the broken machines that don’t work anymore.

I went here for a tour to consider signing back up. I have never been so disgusted by a gym in my entire life. It was filthy the bathrooms the showers and the workout floor look like there’s been no cleaning maintenance done at all. I popped onto to look at reviews and I wasn’t necessarily surprised to see that this is an issue going back six months at least. I do see that the gym responds with the same copy and paste message that they’re going to address cleaning protocols. Clearly, this hasn’t happened. This location is an absolute disgrace to the 24 Hour Fitness brand. I don’t know how management at this location has remained in place.

Enjoyed the pool and hot tub today until I got to the locker room where there was no hot water which we realized after 10 minutes of trying. A plumber was working on the ada shower in the men's restroom that closed that area down, while it was frustrating not to have hot water, it was more frustrating to not be aware of it and / or the response from the front desk. Multiple people in both the men and women's showers were beyond frustrated with this problem. When I told the front desk about it and / or suggesting putting up a sign, it was pushed off as not a big deal and was only going to be 30 more minutes. I then asked to talk to the manager or ask for a contact card to follow up with and said they currently don't have a manager and currently have a high turnover at this location. Baffled by this whole interaction and quite disappointed by coming to this facility more and more.

I honestly don’t recommend this gym, it stinks, it’s disgusting, and has creeps. My sister and I came here yesterday, and this man kept staring at us and walking by. We told the front desk and they told us they couldn’t do anything, and advised switching to another gym… Then when we left we saw him near our car, and parking somewhere else to see when we were coming out.

Besides that, half the machines are broken, there is buildup of dust, and it reeks. I’ve been to LA Fitness, Golds, and Planet, so this gym is definitely low tier. If you can, choose another gym, 24 hour is not worth it.

So I’ve been there now twice. The women’s locker room is probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever seen. There are nests of hair globes in the shower stalls that look like birds nests. The floor hasn’t been cleaned in the two times I’ve been there. I’ve been going here for over 15 years off an on. It use to be top tier. Clean, it had a working swimsuit dryer, free towels.

Now it’s disgustingly horrid. You especially feel it in the locker rooms. This place needs to shut down for 24 hours and be cleaned.

I got a decent deal, the gym memberships here have dropped in price (I wonder why) I paid $38 a month after taxes and get two buddy passes.

It’s almost not worth it. Please clean the facility. The machines are solid but they’re disgusting. This place is doing the bare minimum. I will update my review to more stars if not 5 stars after they clean the place.

The BodyPump group exercise room was 77° before class started. The thermostat was set to cool at 79°!!!
It’s ridiculously hot and dangerous keeping the groupX room so hot with no air conditioning on.
I have been told that it’s due to the Club needing to save money.
Paying members are going to pass out due to heat exhaustion.
My issue was addressed last week and they were able to change it to cool at 71°. Today when I went back, they changed it back up to cool at 79°!! It 100° this weekend turn the air-conditioning on!
24 hour fitness you need to do better, i’m considering contacting a lawyer to see about a lawsuit.

I joined 2 weeks ago… unfortunately, I didn’t have time to really check out the place on the day that I signed up.. but let me tell you it’s SERIOUSLY DISGUSTING! 🤢 🤮 It is a shame that such a beautiful place is kept so filthy! There is Questionable 💩 stains on the plastic shower curtains… Most of the showers don’t drain properly, so the disgusting water that washed all those smelly bodies backs up to your ANKLES!

The sauna has never been wiped down or cleaned, because the amount of grime that has accumulated on the wood floor and benches clearly shows that … The steam room is nonfunctional but somehow still wet and smells like a dirty sock… There’s constantly bottles, cans , all kinds of garbage all over the swimming & locker area… The hot tub has been half full with the same filthy water for over a week….

This is really upsetting for me because going to the gym with my daughter is one of the few activities we love to do together,,, And I hate to disappoint her and tell her that I can’t go through this filth anymore because When I come home from the gym I swear to you, I am itchy and I get these little red itchy bumps on my feet and legs…

When I called to make a complaint, The lady on the phone actually told me that this location does not have management !!! NO MANAGEMENT!!!

I'm looking for a gym. I always go to the reviews first. One review after another about the lack of cleanliness and it seems like the owner and staff doesn't care. It was the pictures that was provided by one member that finalized my decision, I will not pick this location. I have been a 24HF member for least two decades. I have been going to this gym location several times a week for about 6 months (I moved to Vancouver, and this is the closest 24HF to me). The thing that stands out the most is the filth. This facility is absolutely disgusting, especially the women's showers. I come here to get fit and stay healthy, but after each visit, I leave the gym feeling completely grossed out and worried I'll catch something funky.

The Cardio Area
Too many machines out-of-order. The floors directly around the machines are filthy.

The Water Fountains
It looks like it doesn't get scrubbed and cleaned regularly. There is dust, mold, and limescale around the spout, basin, and drain.

The Women's Toilet & Vanity Area
There has been some recent improvement to the cleanliness, but it still needs a good scrub.

The Women's Locker Room
Eh. Lockers and benches are old and warped. The air smells musty.

The Women's Showers
The showers are so gross and unsanitary! It must be a health hazard with all the mold, mildew, limescale, and clogged shower drains, standing in a pool of sewage. It's a staph and fungal infection waiting to happen! Who knows what else could be lurking in those drains? There was a time this past winter there wasn't any hot water for a shower for at least a couple of months.

The Staff
About 50% are friendly. The other 50% don't even look at you as you're checking in.

The Whole Facility
This place needs a serious cleaning - a deep cleaning that involves scrubbing ceramic tile, grout, and shower heads. Top to bottom. It looks like it hasn't been done in quite some time, and never in the 6 months that I have been here.

Third update now to a one star. They are forcing you to make your buddy and guest check in with ID every single time. Despite them lying to your face saying it says in my agreement I made 10 years ago that it states this. Then they told me to call corporate to see a copy of my agreement. He then told me it's in their policy online. I went and searched, and he got mad when I confronted him that it's not true. He asked me, "Oh ok, so do you want your membership terminated?" I said no then he got red and said with a thumbs up " have a good then" must suck being a short old bald guy who gets sparky and passive aggressive for no reason. Just say you don't know your own policy lol

This last year has really made me upset that we are all ripped off and paying bow more for amenities we never receive. It's literally expensive to go here to just use the equipment. Might as well switch to crunch or planet fitness at this rate.

A bandaid in the water fountain. Really? Bandaids are all over the ground. Trash everywhere, the bathrooms are disgusting and covered in hair and toilet paper, and nobody seems to care. What happened? I've been a member for many years, and ever since the old manager left, this place has gone down hill. I'm paying way too much for machines to be broken, the steam room to be closed indefinitely, and for the facility to be so unclean.

Excellent customer service. the gentleman was knowledgeable, professional, and multitasked extremely well. Yes this should be typical, however checked out 4 other gyms & fitness centers before stopping by this location. The others were not up to par in any standards. This 24 hour Fitness center was clean, organized, pretty well stocked, and guessing the main reason anything missing from the in store shop was due to employee not having time right that minute to fill stock. This leads me to my only critique and why I give this location a 4 out of 5 stars, the employee gentlman gets 5 stars !!!! It would have been nice if the company provided more coverage for employee breaks even if a part time position. With the lack of employees to help out guests, staff have to split their time between watching the shop, the facility, and helping new members. With there being an open store within the facility, it forces the employee to multi-task beyond what is fair to that employee, & puts him or her at risk for theft incidents etc. There was a sign sharing I could receive a complimentary walk through tour with a team member. I was able to walk through, however no help or guided tour as there was no one available. Yes you can join on your own right there via a company computer, however I opted for assistance and learned so much more. For example they have a buddy pass that can be purchased with your membership level. All in all very clean facility & knowledgeable staff. Great signage (no missing letters or worn out) throughout, even bathroom was nice and clean. Thank you and can't wait to start next week! Fab first impression!

Absolutely disgusting! This used to be a great club. I’ve been a 24 Hour Fitness member for 30 years. Now the club is filthy all the time there’s huge dust balls under all of the equipment, because they never vacuum . There’s trash all over the floor . Much of the equipment is in bad repair. The staff doesn’t care, You can’t reach corporate so obviously they don’t care either; If you do happen to reach corporate, they direct you to talk to the club manager who does nothing. The past year, this has gone downhill so badly that every time I go in there, I’m disgusted to the max. It’s a health hazard as well. They don’t clean anything. The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting and smell like a sewer. A female friend of mine told me that the sanitary napkin bin in the women’s bathroom was overflowing . It’s too bad because I have friends that come here and it’s convenient to my location. I wish I could do something about it but nobody cares. That’s the way it is these days. I guess I’m gonna have to go find another club to work out at. Oh, and just to let you know, I have now made a formal report to the Vancouver Dept. of Health, who I sincerely hope comes over for a surprise visit and SHUTS YOU DOWN until you comply with health regulations!

Wow! Has this place gone into the toilet! I came in there on a Sunday recently to work out and I could not believe how this place has gone downhill. This used to be my favorite place to go. Good thing I don't live in this area anymore! There was so much trash on the floors everywhere. It was just filthy and dusty. I asked the staff working there why it was like that and he said that the cleaning person doesn't come in on Sundays. To me, it is obvious that this place hasn't been properly cleaned in weeks-if not months! The amount of dust on and around the equipment takes time to build up to be that much. Oh, and the men's bathroom, two of the 3 stalls had unflushed poop! It was so gross I almost puked! Really, I couldn't wait to get out of there and I am sure I will never come back to the Palms! I've just a member of this 24-hour gym for over 24 years, and I want to make it clear that the team members are not responsible for the broken machines. The gym operates 24/7, which puts a lot of wear and tear on the equipment. I'd like to ask fellow members how they feel about the gym being open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, some members have complained about the dirty locker room. In my opinion, the lack of cleanliness is not the fault of the staff, but rather the result of some members' lack of consideration and education. Can we please work together to keep our gym clean? Terrible! Broken exercise machines are constantly out of order, and out of 6 large treadmills, only 2 are working. The pool is full of people, 4-6 people per track, especially in the evening. People sneeze and blow their noses right into the pool (I saw it with my own eyes)!!! The sauna stinks and many people are wearing dirty clothes and shoes. The toilets are often clogged, and it seems like they are never cleaned. I have been a member of this gym for almost 2 years, but it is only getting worse. It's dangerous because there are thefts, my friend's keys were taken and her car was stolen in the parking lot. I will change this gym to another one. I do not recommend it to you, believe me!

We just started working out at gyms again, and I have to admit we could've done better than this place.

The showers are beyond nasty to downright prison level cleanliness with used bandages and bubble gum wads all over the place. The smell of stale urine pervades the restroom area. I can see a ring of filth around the cubby holes under the lockers, showing a half-hearted mopping/ cleaning effort.

The weight areas are in good shape, save for the fact that there are only three, yes, exactly three, flat benches for bench press. They are always being used, and you have to stalk them to get on one.

And this is supposed to be one of the premium spots? This place badly needs a remodel and a committed janitorial crew that cares about doing a good job. I will not be providing photos since it's not appropriate to take photos in a locker room.

UPDATED 3/14/2025: I'm adding two stars because the cleanliness of the showers and locker rooms has improved a bit. There's still a LOT of hair, though. The pool deck absolutely needs a power-wash and hasn't really improved in years, but at least the pool itself seems relatively clean and clear. I'd really like to see the pool deck and showers get a power-washing. Please, please just hire a power washing company to come in and close the gym for three to four hours. Please get this done. It's really getting out of hand.
January 2025: Been paying $80 per month for my husband and I to come here, we've been members for over half a decade. The gym space itself is acceptable with older but good equipment. The classes are good too. My issue is the cleanliness of the showers, locker rooms, and pool area. It's been slowly going downhill for years but my latest visit just solidified I need to cancel our subscription. There were bodily fluids, clumps of hair, trash, food, and a used tampon on the floor in the shower room. This isn't "in-between cleanings" kinda dirt. This is "hasn't been cleaned in days" kinda filth. I asked the front desk gal when the space will be cleaned and she replied "our cleaning lady comes in at night." These kinds of places need to be cleaned THREE TIMES A DAY. I suspect the health department will have something to say about this place. It was worse than a motel or rest stop bathroom - the worst I've ever seen. Terrible job. Do better.

I am changing my one-star review to a four-star review assuming that the good work continues. After months of frustration with no management returning my phone calls I was finally able to speak with somebody at the corporate office in California. She was amazing at addressing my concerns and extremely apologetic for the situations thay have been taking place. We spoke at length as to the general maintenance and upkeep of the gym as well as cleanliness and staff responsibilities. I was very pleased to come in today on my lunch break to see things being repaired and staff more attentive.

It seems that our requests for a cleaner more updated facility have been heard, I can only hope the behavior of the staff changes as well moving forward. Specifically in handling customer complaints.

I understand as someone who works the fitness industry a gym like this can be very difficult to stay on top of. Probably the most difficult factor are the people that abuse this facility and have little to no manners or gym etiquette. I would suggest to everyone that if you see something say something if not to the gym goer but to the staff, so we as a community can start to weed out the bad apples that have got us here in the first place.

Thank you again to the corporate team that heard me out and got the ball rolling to turn this gym back around to what it should be.

Nice people and staff. Great swim class instructor has her game on.
But two stars because as I walked into the locker rooms I overheard the regulars talking about how disgusting the bathroom has been and how long it's been since they've had it cleaned. I walked to the showers and in my horror I found enough hair balls to make a toupee, a maxi pad, toilet paper trash scattered, other members random underwear bra and clothing just left behind for who knows how long. The tile floor and walls have not been cleaned of any soap scum since it's was built. A shower missing a handle and the drying machine out of order which I was told is pretty regular.

I've been to quite a few other gyms even the lower end gyms, and I have never seen such unclean grimy atrocious bathrooms ever! People are trying to get clean in a very nasty environment harboring nasty germs, I almost walked out today and canceled my membership. Still seriously thinking about it but might try another 24-hour gym nearby and see if they've got their cleaning crew on board for deep clean everyday.
I did talk to staff at the front and they told me they have them cleaned every day at 1:00 p.m. they never have too much of a problem in the bathroom but the gentleman would not look at the pictures I said I took. He also dismissed me when I said I heard the regulars talking about how it has not been cleaned in a long time. That is not an everyday cleaning like he said. My partner also uses this Jim and he said since he's been going this last week the bathroom has never been cleaned...
I don't think the staff actually goes to this gym or even walks in the bathroom! PLEASE HIRE A PROFESSIONAL CLEANING CREW.

Filthy facility, rude staff. It breaks my heart that after 20 years working out at 24 hrs fitness, it has come to this. On our last visit the floor was strewn with trash. There was a crumbled Kleenex on the front desk by check-in. When I mentioned it to the woman working the desk, she was noticeably put out that I dragged her away from her cellphone. Good luck getting anything you want done in a reasonable time unless it's free weight, and even then you might have to wait for space. Staff is friendly, but thats about as much as I can compliment them. There's clearly not enough people on staff for the amount of people using this facility on a daily basis. Many of the machines are out of order, and they are lacking sufficient amounts of common machines in favor of using space for machines nobody use. Lockers, showers, bathrooms are deshevled. Only reason it isn’t a 1 star is because the staff, while not cleaning anything they’re at least friendly. Don’t think you can use the basketball gym here cause it’s full of one group of people everyday that take up the whole gym. This place is INCREDIBLY dirty, I’m going to be switching to a different gym this place has no standards. Half the equipment isn’t working at any given time, jacuzzi was down for weeks at a time and of course you get no discount on your membership. I have been going to this gym off an on for over a decade.. it used to be the nicest gym in Vancouver but that has changed quickly since the pandemic. This gym has gone downhill so fast! Out of all the gyms I’ve been, this is by far the NASTIEST and most UNORGANIZED. All the recent reviews complaining about the filth of the bathroom, locker rooms, etc. are 100% accurate. Nobody cleans the bathrooms ever, it’s a constant mess with toilet paper and liquids on the floor. This is a safety and health hazard. I just left the gym and not one of the paper towel stations were refilled. I noticed that was the case yesterday as well. What’s fascinating is that management is actually responding to these complaints but nothing is seemingly being done. If I didn’t have auto-renewal I would’ve cancelled and gone elsewhere in a heartbeat. Avoid this gym if you want a good workout.

I was working out at this gym and the one of the personal trainers, Tricia Wallace, was very rude. I was using a seated calf machine and I thought the seat was locked in place. However, it wasn't and it caused the seat to slide and then the machine made a loud sound.

Tricia proceeded to come over and then 'teach' me how to use the machine as if I've never worked out before. For one, I never asked for them to teach me how to use the machine, and secondly, they didn't ask if I was okay at all. They cared more about the machine and ensuring it was still working. This was very disappointing and almost felt 'targeted' because I've seen members misuse machines in front of 24 workers and they never say anything. Additionally, they were very passive aggressive in their tone. I didn't want to make a scene about it. I complied and said I thought the seat was locked in place, and it wasn't. I apologized.

I'm a long-time member. This place is a SUPER SPORT. That means it's supposed to be a tier above other 24 Hour Fitness locations. It's not. They used to give out towels. Not anymore. They used to have a swimsuit dryer. Now there's just a messed-up wall where it used to be. Management has said it won't be replaced. The showers are disgusting. Absolutely disgusting. The bathrooms are dirty and falling apart. There are bugs in the swimming area. The rules for the sauna and steam room are not enforced. Nobody showers. People come in wearing their sweaty gym gear and use the steam room and sauna. The pool area is always filled with people who aren't even exercising. There is no protocol for swim lanes. I'll be swimming and people will just get into my lane and start hanging out there and then get mad at me when I swim into them. Yesterday I counted at least ten machines out of order. Five of the stair-stepping machines were out of order. This place needs new management who actually care about it. FIX THIS PLACE.

This is the most disgusting gym I have ever been to. Smells bad, sticky equipment, dirt and hair everywhere. I won’t even use the bathroom because of the smell. My friend has a membership here so I go with him every other week. I wouldn’t go here. The owner keeps commenting on all of the rules saying they need to do better but doesn’t seem to do anything. I used a paper towel to wipe down the handles on some equipment and the towel was brown after one wipe. I think it’s crazy that people pay to go to this place. The sauna has a terrible smell of urine, which drives many people away from coming back. The floors are dirty, and the condition of the restrooms is awful—it’s impossible to use them. The locker rooms are also unhygienic, giving off a sense of neglect and poor sanitation.

It’s a shame that such good equipment and the gym’s potential are overshadowed by the lack of proper maintenance and cleaning. If management addresses these issues, the gym could become a much more appealing place to work out.
