This is NOT the closest Crossfit box from our house, but we drive 20-ish minutes each way for a number of important reasons: 1. They offer a teens' class, which my son participates in (they also offer other kids' classes based on age), and 2. their philosophy of doing one workout per class. 3. The people - both the coaches and the members.

I've been doing Crossfit for more than 10 years, and am aware of the concern about injuries and the like. I was also a CFL1 and coached for some time. Focusing on one workout, whether it is more cardio focused, gymnastics or weightlifting, allows for more of a warm-up and avoids the rush to get a warm-up, weightlifting and a metcon done within an hour. I believe that this prevents injury that could come about from doing too much in the time allotted.

Being an older athlete, injury prevention while still getting a good workout in, is paramount. Acuo allows me to do this.

Acuo also fosters community and goes out of its way to have events that provide opportunities for members to get together in a more social setting.

I recommend it for the whole family.

I joined Acuo more than 10 years ago. I was new to the country, new to the CrossFit and not comfortable speaking English. From the first class, I felt welcomed and supported. I could bring my baby to the gym and do workouts while being close to her. My husband joined not long after me. During my pregnancy the coaches helped modify the workouts, so I would feel comfortable and still be active. Both my kids are enrolled in the kids program and enjoy coming to the gym. It’s nice that the whole family can come at the same time and exercise. I think the fact that we moved from Redmond 9 years ago and the commute to the gym is now 30+ minutes one way speaks for itself. Acuo is awesome with the incredible community and is worth the drive!

I joined Acuo in 2016 after moving to the Seattle area and felt immediately welcomed by the coaches and members, and appreciated that they have a week-long free trial. As someone new to CrossFit, it was clear that the coaches were knowledgeable and focused on technique and safety over the amount of weight you lift or how fast you can do a workout. Most of the coaches have years of additional sports/fitness experience beyond CrossFit, and they also consult with experts from the sports that CrossFit draws from, as well physical therapists to provide truly purposeful programming. I continued at Acuo during my pregnancy and postpartum, and all of the coaches did an excellent job of making sure I had modified workouts that kept me active and safe. Especially during pregnancy and the early days of parenthood, I felt so well supported physically and mentally by the amazing community at Acuo, which I will never forget. Acuo also has a youth program for children ages 4-18 with classes that overlap with adult classes, as well as an unsupervised kids area. My kid loves his coaches and has so much fun learning skills that will set him up for life long physical fitness with some of his favorite buddies. Acuo's focus on long-term fitness and building a strong, supportive community, makes it truly a special place. I look forward to being a member here for many more years to come!

I’ve been lifting and training for years, and after moving to the city, I tried at least five different gyms before finding ACUO—and honestly, it’s the only one that really clicked.

The programming is solid, the coaching is top-notch, and the vibe? Super welcoming. What really sold me was the community—people here show up for each other, and that makes all the difference.

Whether you’ve been training for years or just want to stay consistent and feel good, ACUO meets you where you are. It’s not about crushing every workout—it’s about showing up, putting in the work, and getting better alongside good people. That kind of environment is hard to come by.

I've been going to ACUO for a while now, and I absolutely love it. If you've ever felt intimidated by the word "CrossFit," this is the place that will change your mind. The coaches meet you where you are—whether you're a beginner or getting back into fitness—and help you build real, lasting strength without pressure.

As someone who works in tech and isn’t naturally athletic, I was nervous at first, but ACUO feels more like a supportive community than a gym. Every workout is adjustable, and there's a strong focus on form, safety, and progress—not just intensity.

It’s honestly one of the few places I’ve felt motivated to keep showing up. If you’re looking for a friendly, empowering space to feel better in your body, I highly recommend you to try ACUO.

I have been to a few gyms before this but until I joined here I have never been consistent. This gym taught me to be consistent and that strength matters. The name CrossFit initially sounds scary, but the workouts are definitely doable for a beginners. 5 years later, still love the gym, love the community. As a pregnant mom of twins, i came to the gym until my 36th week. That really helped me recover fast. Being pregnant with twins, I did not have back ache or swollen feet the entire pregnancy journey. I have made so many friends from here and it’s always fun to workout with all the known faces. There is a donut club in the gym, lots of ladies who hang out outside the gym, in summer people form groups to hike, there are gym parties that happen in the gym for July4, Diwali, Friendsgiving where all the gym folks bring different types of food from their culture!!
Definitely recommend this gym and no doubt it’s the best community I have ever been part of! Can’t wait for my kids to become 4 to send them to the youth gym!

I've been with Acuo for about 1.5 years, and though I'm not a natural athlete, I have made a lot of progress in my overall strength and endurance in this gym. Dan and Rachel, along with the other staff, are passionate about members' health and fitness, and they do a great job of maximizing the use of the hour-long class. This is huge for me, as I juggle other daily commitments and so I need my workouts to be "worth it".

The community aspect at Acuo is probably the strongest I have ever experienced in any gym. There is a sense of care and belonging that is a testament to the gym's leadership. Very very thankful I found Acuo and would highly recommend this gym to anyone considering changing things up for the better, no matter where you are currently.

I’ve been with Acuo CrossFit for five years and still look forward to walking through the doors every weekday. I was intimidated by the word “CrossFit” at first, but the coaches broke down every movement, scaled workouts to my ability, and cheered me on until I felt confident.

What really sets Acuo apart isn’t fancy amenities—it’s the people. The members range from first-timers to competitive athletes, yet everyone high-fives the person next to them and celebrates each other’s progress. The group-class format means you get to know the same coaches and workout partners, so friendships form naturally and quickly.

I’d bounced around other gyms for years and never understood why nothing stuck. Turns out I was missing community. At Acuo, the culture is relentlessly positive, family-friendly, and genuinely welcoming; it feels more like coming home than clocking in a workout. If you want a place where you’ll be supported, pushed, and surrounded by good vibes, this is it.

I’ve been a member of Acuo Crossfit since 2018. It's my 4th CrossFit gym over 15+ years and it is truly the best gym I’ve ever been a part of. I’ve been to classes at every time of day and the community of people is incredible. Everyone is welcoming, encouraging and becomes good friends over time. If you are looking for a community of kind people, Acuo is it. Our 5:45 AM class (yes, early) does donuts after Friday morning class, spending time together drinking coffee. Come join us and have a donut!
For the workouts, the focus is on overall fitness, not just strength. Every coach is great and willing to spend any extra time to scale weights or movements and focus on form training. I’ve lost weight, I’ve gained strength, made new PRs many times over, and made friends I actually look forward to sweating with every session. Whether you're new to CrossFit or coming back after a break, this gym offers coaching that aligns with your needs, accessible yet challenging programming, and a culture that makes you WANT to come back again and again.

From day one, my experience at Acuo has been nothing short of transformative. The coaching staff is knowledgeable, motivating, and truly invested in your growth—whether you’re a seasoned athlete or just starting your fitness journey.

The programming is constantly varied but always intentional. It’s not just about lifting heavy or pushing hard; it’s about training smart, staying safe, and building a community. Every workout is scalable, which means no matter your level, you’re challenged without being overwhelmed.

But what really sets Acuo apart is the culture. It’s a place where people cheer each other on, celebrate PRs like family, and hold each other accountable. I’ve gained strength, endurance, and confidence—but more importantly, I’ve gained a community.

If you’re looking for a gym that pushes you physically and supports you mentally, this is it. Show up, put in the work, and you’ll be amazed at what you’re capable of.

Acuo CrossFit is the total package — incredible workouts, top-notch coaches, and a welcoming, supportive community. The programming is smart, challenging, and constantly varied, which keeps things fun and effective. The coaches are knowledgeable, attentive, and truly care about helping each athlete improve safely and confidently. What really sets Acuo apart is the community — encouraging, friendly, and full of people who genuinely want to see each other succeed. Whether you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll feel right at home here. Highly recommend!

Acuo CrossFit is an excellent place for beginners or seasoned athletes alike to practice crossfit, learn and evolve their technique. Dan and the coaching staff do a great job creating workouts that are challenging and can be scaled down for people who have injuries or that may not be at the fitness level they want to be yet.

The kids gym is also amazing, my kids have had a great time there. It's amazing g to see also some teens who eventually grow to participate in the adults gym and even sometimes become coaches.

Even after saying all that I haven't touched on the best part which is the sense of community that Dan creates and how everyone is welcomed to the family with open arms.

If you are thinking about crossfit, Acuo is the place to start. If you don't like it there, then crossfit is probably not your thing.

I was a member at Acuo CrossFit for the last 6 months and recently had to cancel my membership only because I’m moving — otherwise, I’d still be showing up for those beautifully brutal workouts.

What Dan has built at Acuo is truly special. There’s a strong sense of community and continuity — so many members have been there for 10+ years, and it shows in the camaraderie and welcoming vibe. Everyone knows everyone, and you feel like part of something bigger from day one.

The coaching team — Dan, Rachel, Jenn, and Josh — is outstanding. The workouts are challenging and thoughtfully programmed, with just the right level of intensity. What I especially appreciated was how mindful the coaches were about injuries and modifications — always quick with smart alternatives to avoid strain while still getting a great workout.

And then there’s the fun: the banter, the question of the day, and the shared sweat make every session feel both tough and joyful. Go team Acuo!

Dan and Amanda were phenomenal! I was in process of relocating to the Redmond area and finding a new box to join that reminded me of home seemed almost impossible. Luckily I came across Acuo! The programming was challenging and I appreciated the lack of time caps so I could finish all of the rounds and still get out of class on time. Every day the workout brought on something different but seemed to build on lifts that we had done the week before. While I was there I had the joy of finding a clean and jerk max and then days later go through a clean and box jump workout. I really liked the mix of cardio into the Olympic lifting! Not only is there a phenomenal workout program but several activities to bring gym members together such as barbecues and movie nights. I would gladly become a member! Thank you again Dan and Amanda!!

I have been a member for a bit over a year now so I can testify to the overall experience of this CF facility. The first word/phrase I would use to describe my acuo training experience is "(focus on) safety". In the world of CrossFit, that's often an overlooked commodity. All the coaches do a great job of making sure the regardless of the participants fitness level, the focus on safety and technique always remains top of mind. Dan, the owner, has done a great job of building a great community. People of all skill set and fitness goals are welcome and can benefit from top notch coaching here.

Acuo kids/youth program led by Coach Rachel also follows the same general principals of safety, fun and fitness education. The workouts and games that Rachel designs for kids of all age groups from 4-18 are wonderful. Both my kids love their CrossFit experience !!

Acuo Kids is well thought-out. Coach Rachel encourages kids to do their best and makes exercising fun! My 9 year old son & 7 year old daughter both enjoyed the games Coach Rachel created & they loved the challenges and strength training exercises she planned. Coach Rachel puts a lot of effort and time into the planning of Acuo Kids. Having many years as a gymnastics coach & a CrossFit coach makes Coach Rachel a great fit for CrossFit kids!
The Acuo CrossFit atmosphere is energetic, encouraging & friendly.

I am new to CrossFit but coaches as well as other members are welcoming, fun and encourage you to be your best. Coaches get to know you personally and help you with your weaknesses. After 8 months, I saw so much improvement. This was completely reflected in my running (I am a runner and regularly do half marathons) pace which improved STEADILY compared to my last two years before I joined ACUO.

I live just up the street but moving out soon. Even though it is going to be a 20-30 min drive to ACUO, I can't imagine going to anyplace else.

I have been going to Acuo since the last 1 and a half years and I have totally enjoyed the experience. All the coaches care deeply about your well being. They seem to know everyone's strengths and weaknesses and suggest personalized WOD modifications based on injuries or weak spots. I have weak shoulders in particular so before every shoulder(read overhead) work out, Dan and Marion would personally ask me if I'm feeling up for the WOD and would suggest WOD modifications. I have coached at least once with each of the coaches so far(Steve, Michaela, Tara and Brittany) and have totally enjoyed the experience. No matter what your fitness level when you start, Acuo will make you feel at home and make working out a lot of fun! I highly recommend trying out Acuo if you are looking for a crossfit gym in the area or looking for a new way to stay fit!!
