The best Kickboxing/striking & Jiu-Jitsu gym in the area. I frequented a gym in Everett owned by the coached who coached the owner of AKA when I was younger so I was familiar with the gym. Getting back into it about 5 years ago was refreshing knowing I had a local spot that carried the same spirit, discipline and skilled coaching I was looking for. I will be a member for life.

This is a great place to train. The coaches and students are friendly and helpful. There is very much a team/family feel at AKA and a lot of positive energy on the mats. Whether you’re an experienced martial artist or just wanting to give it a try, I would highly recommend AKA.

I've been a member of a few gyms. Arlington Kickboxing Academy is by far the best. If you are interested in getting is shape, learning self defense or want to get into competition, this is the place. A true family environment with coaches that are patient, helpful and care!

After having my daughter try taekwondo I decided to have her try jiu jitsu so she could learn real self defense. One year later and I highly recommend this gym for kids and adults. The owner and the customers are amazing.

Started going here 10-12 years ago with my daughter that was in middle school. Eventually she graduated and moved but I continued coming here. Lots of new faces over the years along with familiar faces from when I first started.

If you're a beginner, advanced or just looking for something recreational I highly recommend this place.

I have lots of gyms that are closer but I choose to keep coming here.

Landon and the other instructors are highly trained and are very good at what they do.
Eventually you form a bond with people that punch you in the face and eventually you call them a friend.

Great place for families or just individuals looking for a good workout.

This place is AWESOME; the best martial arts school in the area. My son LOVES the class! It's fast paced, fun, and exciting. The instructors are great and it's a positive environment for kids to channel their natural instincts in a controlled manner. I've never seen my son so excited! The first class was free, so give it a try! This is the real deal!

Came to check up on this review and oddly enough I can't see my old review from 2017.
Basically the owner here gets people sucked into contracts unexpectedly. If you go here watch some of the language in the papers. There's a $250 dollar exit fee if you want to suddenly stop going.
My biggest problem was the owner uses the "contract" against anyone who speaks out against him, but funny enough he doesnt follow his own contract. He took $350 from me when I l left which I claimed to my bank was stolen as his contract specified specific amounts, not to mention he never took money every month from my account on the day his contract agreed it would.
It's good to see others in the reviews that experienced the same are speaking out. He's sketchy with taking money from your account and I also, as it appears others did as well, have to get my bank to block him from withdrawing

My bank finally credited me my money back, the 107$ total that was stolen from me, by this gym. It was confirmed that I had read the contract correctly, which further reduces the point the owner makes to everyone. I would be more than happy at any point to show how this money was taken from my account  to anyone who is curious or possibly going through the same thing, if it is happening to them.

Was looking for a place for my grandson that's local. Based upon the interaction of the "owner" with a dissatisfied customer I'm gonna stay away from here. Pretty shady how the "contract" was handled and it appears the owner is a stalker of those who comment in a negative fashion. . .bad vibes here. . .

Our kid loves this place. He goes 4 days a week and the owner is a great teacher. My son is 9 and has been going there for about 3 years now. All his teachers are amazing.

I love AKA MMA and Fitness, the coaches are awesome, very knowledgeable, and excellent​ teachers. AKA is a great place for people who want to compete in grappling, mma, or any type of combat sport, learn self defense, and or get in best shape of their life. I highly recommend this MMA gym it's a super badass place to learn and have FUN.

Great place. They seem to trust people more and are less rigid in what they teach. The BJJ folks are great teachers as they stop and tell you what you're doing wrong and what you can do better. If you don't know what to do in a certain position, just ask and they'll tell you.
They have two long kickboxing bags that are well worn in and won't break your hands or feet. They also have a water bag and all means of pads and sparring equipment. When I was there, they had fights on TV which is a great way to pump people up, so that's a huge plus.
