New owners same fraud & scandals. Do not give them your debit/credit card number as you will be charged not what they tell you or sign on. Cancelled my membership and charged me the same day for the month, this is fraud. Not to mention listen to the voice mail currently says two months free with a year contract. They will not honor that nor what the corporate website says “0” joining fee. They will charge you 29.99 to join & a security deposit for entry when company website says “0” with only monthly gym fee. Again, this is clear false advertising. Do not fall for the same old tricks! Time to hold these companies & owners accountable. I’ll attach the corporate monthly rate, as you can see it says monthly rate 21.99 du bi-weekly. There’s no joining fee or security entry fee, but this Stanwood location will charge you to join and give you the key card for entry. On top of that you get maintenance fee additional to your monthly bi-weekly dues as well so they don’t actually reflect the monthly rate shown even. Just clear scamming of customer, terrible management, owners and company!

With the new ownership (Spring 2025), we are noticing improvements. No ripped seat cushions and several pieces of new equipment have arrived. There is a new rack by which you can hang various cable machine accessories such as hand grips, ropes, etc vs. in the past whereby all apparatus was tossed onto two metal shelves. Gym goers had to sift through the pile to find say a hand grip. The new owners are not done yet with more to follow. Thank you for the attention to detail.

My wife and I workout at the Anytime Fitness in Stanwood. We are very happy with this gym; they have everything we need. Chris, the manager, ensures that the equipment is clean and in good condition. Whenever we have a concern, he addresses it promptly. 5 years ago we had a membership at the YMCA nearby. But it was crowded and noisy, with a lot of kids. We quit the Y, and signed up at Anytime Fitness. We think of Anytime Fitness as the “adult gym”. We are happy here, and enthusiastically recommend this gym!

Aside from the COST… this gym has terrible amenities. Very limited bathrooms, 4 small televisions placed high up and not positioned in places visible from the machines. There’s probably only 4 or 5 treadmills with a weight machine placed maybe 10 feet directly behind it, giving whoever is using it a great view of myself. Staffed hours are only 11-7.

Now. The cost. I couldn’t believe the cost. Firstly, based off the value, I wouldn’t pay more then $15 a month for this place, so you’re fooling yourselves. They bill BI-WEEKLY and it’s like $60 a month! $140 sign on fees, $50 for a key FOB to enter the building, a yearly fee. I was shocked. Needless to say I have a planet fitness membership. I drive 15 minutes further, that’s $25 a month, and the experience is a million times better.

Here on a travel nursing contract and people are friendly and don’t make you feel weird for being the new guy in the gym, owner is very friendly and they have heavy dumbbells and better equipment than most any times I’ve been to.

Earlier this year, or late last year, I wrote a 5 star review about this place focusing on how great Derrick (the owner) is/was.
Now I would like to change my review.

In November of 2021 my wife and I visited this establishment. After being shown around the club, my wife and I were satisfied with it so we sat down with Derrick to discuss my membership options. We were trying to decide whether or not I wanted to go month to month or pay for a full year.
We opted for paying for one full year. The main reason behind this decision was that "Derrick" assured us that if we were to move in state or out of state to an area that did not have an Anytime Fitness, that he would refund our money for any months remaining on my year purchase.
We are now in June of 2022 and my wife and I are moving to Colorado for my work. The area we are moving too is a small town with no Anytime Fitness near by.
I contacted Derrick informing him of this and asking for a refund for the months remaining on my one year paid in full.
He answered my first email stating he did not remember me and that he couldn't find me in his system. He asked that I send him my fabe access number.
Upon his request, I did, along with reminding him that when I signed up, his system wasn't working and therefore he had to do my membership old school on paper and this is a possibility why I'm not in his system. I also attached to the email pictures of my paper contract.
Since then, I have received no response back. I have emailed a few times in the past week inquiring of the status of my request.
No response!
I feel he is ghosting me and because of this, I believe he is not a man of his word and has no interest in keeping his word.
My next step is to contact Anytime Fitness corporate and see if they can assist.
I am extremely disappointed in my experience with this club and the owner Derrick.

Shame on you Derrick.

I will now never attend an anytime fitness nor will I recommend this company.

I will continue to utilize the gym until I move.

I've already paid in full for my membership.

My heart is currently heavy!

I went to go and check out this as one of the gyms I had on my list that I was considering going. However, I decided against it after the staff member was extremely rude and had an arrogant attitude about herself. I asked questions about costs of possibly hiring a potential trainer and she couldn't even answer basic questions that any staff member should be able to answer. Her answer was that I'd have to contact the owner myself to find out the answer. Not acceptable behavior at all, and definitely not a way to do business in a small town!

Thank goodness for new ownership! This place was so dirty for awhile and now the new owners keep this place spotless. Staff is great and responsive to requests, great Nautilus equipment that is all in working order. I definitely recommend using this facility for working out and you can go "anytime." You won't be disappointed!!

Don’t listen to the bad reviews, sounds like the old owner being a sore loser. I just got signed up and have made several trips. Derrick works hard to keep the place clean and sanitary and everything is in working condition. Plenty of space, good machines and free weights and no crowds. Definitely worth the $50 per month!

The Stanwood Anytime fitness is such a great environment to workout in! Derrick (the owner) is so friendly and helpful. The facilities are super clean and accommodating, and they have all the equipment that you would need. Also they are generally not too busy. I highly recommend visiting this anytime location for your workouts :)

I like it. It's small. Its rarely crowded, has 2 squat racks and many fans which is great. The family who owns it currently in 2020 are very kind to speak with and I've seen them deep cleaning the facility on a regular basis.

I have been trying to contact this gym for months and they have been ignoring me and charging my girlfriend and I hundreds of dollars since the pandemic started, when our account was supposed to be on freeze. There is no way to cancel your membership unless you go through your home gym. I have tried everything. I'm about to cancel my bank account and open a new one to prevent future charges... but this is not right.

its one of the worst places to go ..They keep on charging me and my wife after they closed their doors due to COVID-19. They do not answer the phones, or emails. Hi, I just got charged today. When i was told i was canceled.I do not understand why I am being charged when the GYM is closed and has been closed for weeks now.

If you have a gym membership with anytime fitness in stanwood I highly suggest cancelling. We were told our memberships would be on a freeze in April until unknown date because of Covid. Still was charged April & May. We tried calling, emailing, and texting. It took a DAYS for someone to get back to us. They said that they would take care of us and nope wasn’t the case. They are now called Stanwood Fitness and they are stealing from people. There was no notification of a new club , no documentation, your key fob no longer works and to waive the cancellation fee you have to sign up with them. That makes no sense... I’m so frustrated and feel extremely bad for people who don’t always pay attention to their banking or our elderly members who have no idea what’s happening.

The new Manager 'Eric' was awesome, informative, took his time to really make a difference and showed that he cared about me, not just the facility. He helped me to decide to become a member yesterday because of his great service and how he represented the company!!

I’ve frequented and have been a member of this facility for the past five years. Their have been multiple ownership changes that have in the past left few disruptions to the gyms operational standards. However; there exists a disconnect between the current ownership and its members. There are far too few times where staffed hours aren’t consistently filled or present, therefore communication between member and ownership is at an all time low. The standard of cleanliness has left much to be desired. For example; empty toilet paper dispensers and gym towels/wipes are unavailable at peak hours. It’s great you’re promoting new ideas; however let’s not abandon basic gym ownership etiquette while doing so. When the time comes for my family to start using these type of facilities together; I will certainly be switching to the YMCA. It’s unfortunate; I really enjoyed this place of business.

I would have rate 0 but it is not possible, I have been trying to cancel my membership it has been months,I visited them and they told me the manager is not there and they will let the manager know about my cancellation. Later on they told me to be there at 3pm ,I got there on time and the staff member told me that he has a class and he is not going to be able to cancel and told me that I should get an appointment 🤯 . They have been promoting a free 42 day challenge . The small print was that there is a $400 deposit, that is non-refundable, if you do not finish or comply. To me, in my opinion only, and I am not speaking for the gym., that sounds like a gym that knows there are situations in the real world that could prevent the individual from meeting their standards or expectations and bank on the failure of the individual to make money. Sedro-Woolley is having a similar challenge for $21 days for $89. Hmmmmmm. $180 sounds a little more reasonable to me!!!!!

Well the gym is well-equipped and clean but the customer service is terrible, and there is no childcare. A few months into my membership I could no longer work out due to a medical condition and was told I had to pay a couple hundred dollars to get out of the contract. Despite calling the gym dozens of times nobody picked up the phone. When I left messages it took weeks for staff to get back to me.
