Scammy, greedy company. Can't sign up for a few months of toddler classes without paying an entire years worth of fees. When you try and cancel they wait until after the billing period, eventhough you cancelled 30 days before. They give you a makeup token for being sick but won't allow you to use it. Would recommend looking elsewhere for toddler classes. They are just out to get as much money from you as they can.

My daughter likes it but for the cost and how many kids attend Id expect it to be a bit cleaner. We’ve moved and been to many gyms all over the US but this one really smells like feet. Its bad. It’s so strong I often have to sit outside and wait.

My daughter has been going here since she was 2. She is now 6 and is a very confident gymnast. Love the teachers, love the front desk lady, and love the owner. I highly recommend this gym.

Our kids attend gymnastics and the ninja course here. Generally enjoyable, engaging, and teaches great mobility and strength. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the birthday packages. $385 for 1.5 hours, up to 15 kids. Bring your own food and your kid gets a birthday t shirt. Super expensive for what you get and our host was less than thrilled to be there. Didn’t acknowledge our daughter and forgot to give her a shirt. Barely smiled. Our daughter ultimately had a great time but for what it was I don’t think we’d do it again.

My grandson took the 5-6 year old day camp. I don’t really think he learned anything other than to run around and play. I thought this was more of an organized class. It was more of a
Babysitting class. It was a bummer.

My son attended the preschool program for a few months. Until
He came home with a very obvious and concerning injury obviously caused by another student without being informed of any incident occurring that day. The situation was handled very poorly and we decided to pull him from the program. Not sure I would feel comfortable going back.

I’ll start out by saying this place is better than the last center we went to for gymnastics. However, my daughter is 4 and in the level 1 class with other kids her age. She’s attended gymnastics for a long time but is unfamiliar with some of the names they call the poses on the beam stands. She doesn’t understand what “beam feet” means and they haven’t helped correct her on it either. I did mention this to them the first class and they just replied “oh it’s ok”. While the coaches in the Thursday morning class are better at addressing the kids, I feel like they sometimes are frustrated with my daughter because she did not attend THEIR kinder class, so she’s not on the routine the other girls are. And they won’t spend any individual time with her to help correct what they’re getting frustrated with. She has fun so I am happy for that.

On a side note, the last gym we went to did not smell this bad, and the owners are cheap so if the weather is cool outside, they won’t run the air or a fan AT ALL. I actually have almost fainted a couple of times because of how musty and muggy it gets inside when they leave all the air off. This costs each kid $100 a month, you can afford to rent a carpet extractor and run a fan when it’s over 70 degrees inside. Lady at the desk seemed too busy to hear my feedback so hopefully they read this.

We were really excited to start the tod fit class as my toddler is so active at home we wanted to give her a safe space to explore and be able to be wild. As a teacher myself, I was really disappointed in the “teaching” or lack there of. I don’t think it’s any fault of the teachers, but they didn’t seem well trained or equipped for the classes and had minimal to no child development understanding. My child cried hysterically for all 6 weeks we did this class. It’s very chaotic. There’s several classes going on at the same time and kids running everywhere. The instructors acted as if we knew exactly how to show our kids how to do different stations. I’m sure if you are looking for an intense program on getting your kid to the Olympics, this would be perfect. But for the rest of us who are looking for developmentally-appropriate, engaging activities that are taught by well qualified staff, the toddler classes here are not for us. We recently tried another gym and it was wonderful. So it wasn’t that my daughter hated gymnastics, she just hated gymnastics here.

We do not attend this gym regularly but we were there today for a meet. My daughter had nothing but wonderful things to say about the girls on their team. She said they were very kind and welcoming and gave her lots of high fives and compliments. The meet itself ran smoothly from start to finish. We had a great time in this space and given the opportunity would definitely attend another meet here with these gracious hosts!!

My daughter went here for almost a year but it was not a great experience. The front desk staff were always unfriendly and extremely unhelpful. For the beginner gymnastic classes, the coaches were always calling out and always looked like they hated their job. She never connected with any of the coaches even when she tried to. The whole area is not ventilated well so the chalk dust would make it just miserable to stay and watch the classes. Happy to be done with this place.

The little ninja class on Sunday morning is chaotic and inconsistent. The gym is very crowded on the weekends. The coaching in particular is spotty—some coaches were great (Coach Abby) and others seemed disinterested in children. The front desk staff is neither kind nor interested in being helpful. Weekend classes are frequently cancelled due to holidays or tournaments and the token makeup class system is cumbersome to use. All in all, not a great value.

We were at Black Hills for about a year. I have a 7 year old who has been doing gymnastics for four years and a 5 year old who started and stopped gymnastics at Black Hills.

On the good side, Maddie at the front desk is overworked but a wonderful and hardworking person. Also, it seems clear to me they are fostering incredible talent with young people. The level of skill for the kids who get attention is impressive.

My 7 year old was accepted into Xcel prep team. She made a close friend and really found a passion for bars.

Over summer, Coach Conner said she was lacking in focus. Most of the kids were out for the summer. My daughter was camping and attending art, math and sailing camps. Her world view was broadening.

Also, I was kind of transient at the time and waiting for my apartment to come through. Our routine was disrupted. While she was happy, she maybe fell out of love with gymnastics for the summer.

I thought about my run with soccer as a little girl and I fell in and out of love with it, but was still committed for over a decade. I think that alone is a valuable lesson.

Coach C and I set up a system where I knew if she gave 100% during practice and would get her a treat if she did.

She refocused but I think Black Hills gave up on her before the fall session. She was separated from her close friend and spent four hours a week doing stretches and beams.

She didn't learn new skills and never returned to the bars she loved so much. Coach Conner stayed with a group of more focused children and a wonderful and kind young woman took over with my daughter's new group.

My daughter became bored and restless. Her love of gymnastics dipped further than before. First, my youngest asked to take a break from gymnastics (I just don't think it's her thing). Then my oldest asked to take a break.

I was terrified her love for gymnastics was forever altered. I asked her to talk to her coach. While young people make great coaches, they don't always know how to inspire the way perhaps an older coach might. The coach kinda shrugged her shoulders and told me my daughter wanted to try other sports.

I was hoping maybe my daughter would get more encouragement. Anyway, eventually she asked to try another gym. I think that is the right choice.

We had such a positive experience at the gym in Kirkland, I am sorry to see her love and enthusiasm dip. It is a life lesson though!

The guest wifi doesn't work most of the time which can result in the commiseration of bored parents in the parking lot. My personal hell is the little room with the cubbies when classes transition. There are so many people and no personal space.

I think if your child is ordained by the coaches, it could be an intense but enriching experience. My child, however, doesn't deserve to be left on the sidelines. And not for the same cost in tuition.

Our daughter came to gymnastics here, and we also attended a birthday party here for a friend of my son's. great indoor space with lots of room. Everything feels sprung, giant floors for kids to run and bounce on. We haven't done any serious gymnastics yet, but judging by the banners and awards hung everywhere, this place is definitely serious. The equipment all looked exactly like what you would see in a professional competition, and I did not notice anything that looked worn out or unused laying around. There are tons of things to learn and try and it seems appropriate for all skill levels. Considering how rainy the area can be, this seems like a great idea for keeping kids indoors and active in the rainy times. My daughter wants to continue coming here and we likely will.

From a developmental standpoint of young children. The Todd Fitt class is not appropriate in any way, shape or form. They are a mess at best. If you were considering a gymnastics class for your little one, please reconsider this gym. Watching their young staff, eat candy and not pay attention to what’s going on in their class. Warming children up with children who are significantly older and expecting a toddler to be able to do that for 15 Minutes is absurd. Today, they had a meet going on but did NOTHING to change the class schedule or make any kind of adjustments to how and where class was going to run. I am a professional in this space and I am embarrassed for them. Do better.

Update October 2023: We're once again trying a class here because my daughter only wants to do gymnastics and there are no other options in Lacey. Customer service is still frustrating. Every employee I've worked with has been rude and dismissive. The parking situation is awful.

Customer service leaves a lot to be desired. I talked with them in the phone several times and often felt that they didn't have the answers to my questions, such as "what summer camps will you offer?" or "How much do they cost?"
In general, prices were unclear and misleading. Please be upfront. I have a limited budget! I need to know that there will be additional $100 fees for events, registration, etc on top of tuition. Just put a price sheet on your website.
Programs seemed alright. My daughter enjoyed the gymnastics class while she was in it. Safety was a concern for me, though. Although she was only in the program for 6 weeks, she did get injured. I guess she hit her head on a bar. How did that happen? Shouldn't someone be spotting?
Preschool summer camp. This program seemed ok, except they kicked my 4 year old son out after only 5 days of attendance. I've been debating posting a review for awhile now, because I do recognize that his behavior was problematic. However, I do not feel that we were given much of a chance here.
Some kids are more physical that others, my son is one of them (which is why we chose a gymnastics camp!) Instead of working with him on his behavior he was immediately asked to leave. He's 4. He has little impulse control. And it doesn't help him at all to be told he's a bad kid and he's not allowed at camp. To be clear, I was not made aware of any serious incidents involving him at camp until we were being asked to leave.

My child went to preschool here, and her teacher Ms. Lisa and all the staffs are amazing! They’re caring and always went extra miles for the kids. Whenever I came in and saw kids cried or had a moment, they would always held them and comfort them like their own. One time my child didn’t finish her drawing and acted up, they even offered to let her stay after hour to finish.

On top all the fun learnings, there were also holiday events for families to participate, and a special performance at graduation. My daughter has the best time there and she’s most excited about her classes here in the week, and absolutely loved her teacher.

Thank you Black Hill Gymnastics provided this fantastic experience, it made her preschool year a memorable one.

I have a four year old boy, who has attended about 6 classes now. He is exceptionally shy, but very energetic. His pre-K classes are helping with both of those things. Staff and coaches have been so supportive, patient, and kind. Prices have been quite reasonable, and well worth the experience. We have missed two classes due to illness on one occasion, and a holiday falling on our scheduled day. In both instances, we were reasonably offered credits for future sessions. It is easy to look around this massive place and envision the Olympics being held here. All of the kids seem eager to arrive and excited to participate due to the structure and staff. We'll be coming here as long as my little one wants to!

My son did the preschool with Ms Lisa and loved it! She was very kind and patient with his type A personality. Not only did he enjoy going but he grew so much!!! I felt like this was a crucial step for him to enter kindergarten this year.

He also attends the gymnastics program. This gym is on top of their game. Scheduling and rescheduling was very easy. The coaches help teach the kids that they are responsible for their learning. It’s really an impressive gym.

Honestly the absolute WORST customer service I have ever had to deal with. The “business” number they provide is literally someone’s cell phone that they NEVER answer, I’ve had them answer once after calling a few times and laugh then proceed to apologize because they were at home eating lunch. So I’ve attempted to email them like they had stated in their voicemail. Never ever got a single email back, never got a phone call back despite my many attempts to contact them to pay tuition. Their billing system is outdated and primitive to say the very least.

While we love a few of the coaches here, it's a giant mess. We are constantly having to change classes (and class times) due to people dropping out and they change instructors for each class so often that the kids feel lost and don't learn much. If you have a Level 4+ gymnast this is a great gym. Otherwise I suggest looking elsewhere.

Excellent Boys' Team Coaches, very poor front office staff and exceptionally bad ownership. One of my kids, age nine was kicked off of the team because I inquired about an annual $200 equipment fee paid by parents for every child they have on team. I estimate that the gym has between 150-200 children on team but it could be higher. My estimate of 150-200 means the gym is bringing in $35,000-$40,000 a year in these fees and has not purchased new equipment in years. The floor is a danger to the kids and some of the mats are so worn they too are a danger. The CEO Ms. Alisa Muller was so upset by my inquiry that she sent me a punchy response. I informed her I would file a complaint with the AG so she kicked my son off of team and even kicked my 4 year old out of pre-school. My 4 year-old had nothing to do with this. It doesn't need to be written what type of a person Ms. Muller is, her actions speak for her. At worst she is embezzling these "fees" at best she is mismanaging resources that will lead to the injury of children.
