I’ve been going to the Kirkland location of Body & Brain for several months now and am very happy with the classes. I especially enjoy the Qigong/Tai Chi classes. Both Master Melanie and Crispina are excellent instructors and really make you feel good about coming. I like that this program focuses on integrating the brain as well as just body movement. It’s a good way for me to relieve stress, and I always feel better when I leave. I heartily recommend.

BodynBrain has transformed my life after being a student the past 10 years. I was looking for a place that offer classes for meditation and breathing to manage my mental health issues. I'm so glad that I found Body and Brain in Kirkland. I like the variation of classes that are being offered here from Tai Chi, Core Strengthening to Energy Movement. I especially like the body tapping and wooden pillow classes. The classes are easy to follow and all the instructors are great especially Melanie WJM. She has so much energy and she always add some new movements to each class that I find very helpful. Body and Brain offers both in studio and online classes that utilize a mixture of tapping, meridian stretching, core exercise, yoga, Tai-chi, breath work and meditation to improve body, mind and energy condition. The instructors are very warm and caring, each brings their own unique strength and qualities to the class. No class is exactly the same. If you are feeling heavy and serious, come try out a class with the current center manager Master Melanie, her joyful energy is contagious, she will make sure you get a good workout with lots of laughter and leave with a smile on your face.
I also love the friendly atmosphere in the classroom from all my fellow classmates. I can feel relax to just be myself, focus on my own self-growth without pressure or judgement. Over the years, I have found my energy level and physical condition improved. I also became more aware of my deeper emotional blockages and was able to gradually let go of them. I feel lighter, happier and more confident these days. Highly recommended.

I love the Kirkland Body and Brain yoga center. I especially love Master Melanie. Her energy is awesome. She's very knowledgeable. Her classes are fun. She's easy to talk to. Even though I have not been able to consistently attend the in person classes offered in the new Kirkland center since its opening, but the energy I felt every time I went was amazing. Totally unlike other yoga classes I've taken (most similar to kundalini yoga?) but super beneficial. Was a little uncomfortable at first because you have to count out-loud as a class but it's about "sincerity over seriousness". It's a lot of meditation and energy work which keeps you calm throughout the week. I had a massive headache yesterday and half way through class it vanished.

It was completely by accident that I happened across Brain and Body. While lost in Kirkland one day I noticed a Tai Chi sign in front of their building which immediately appealed to my recent interests in moving meditation and energy work. Brain and Body welcomes all walks of life in a comfortable and relaxed environment. This is also not your typical style of yoga workout, which is another thing I love about Brain and Body. Incorporated with the familiar yoga moves are energy exercises that may have you going "huh?" at first. But with dedication, sincerity, and a true desire to explore your inner world, you will see how these movements transform you. I began classes six months ago with a very worried, self interested mind and stiff body. Now I clear my mind with more ease, and achieve new levels of flexibility every day. The teachers at Brain and Body are a joy to be around, the perfect cure to a stressful day, and often dedicate personal time to those who are committed to their journey here. I really don’t know where I would be without this place, I’m more comfortable in my skin than I ever have been, and I wish this love and joy for everyone.

Classes are wonderful here, the stretching,meditation and holistic approach to energy work and healing is so enjoyable .The Belly Button healing wand was of great benefit to me after hip replacement in April.
I used it to massage the scar tissue wound area and for gentle tapping to encourage bone growth.My physical therapist was very pleased with the speed the wound healed and the scar tissue was broken up.

I deal with chronic pain daily from a back injury. I started attending classes here just 3 months ago and been impressed by how much it's helping reduce my pain levels. Sciatic nerve pain is no longer a daily thing for me and walking up steep hills is getting easier. It's gentle but very effective, and I don't run the risk of re-injury as I would with other types of exercises. It's been great for nurturing my body and soul. Highly recommend Body & Brain!

I have been to many different yoga classes in the past but none of them have excited me enough to stay until I found the Body & Brain Yoga and Tai Chi center in Kirkland two and a half years ago! Since then I have continually surprised myself with how much I enjoy every class and to see how much it has changed me not only physically, but mentally as well! I found that as my body became stronger my mind also became more clear and sharp. The meditation during the classes has really helped me to see deeper inside of myself and to find out who I really am and what I can do to not only help myself become a better person, but also how to help others. Each instructor has their own teaching style and I love all of them because it makes each class that much more interesting. Thanks for the wonderful yoga class today! Before the class, I felt very tight upper back that made me so uncomfortable that I had to cut short of my regular activity during the day. Throughout the class, it really helped me to release the tension deep inside. I felt much lighter after the class. I was breathing much deeper and really felt the joyfulness of that lightness. I enjoy the simplicity and effectiveness of the physical training offered at Body and Brain, Kirkland center. It offers nice variety to classes that include core strengthening, basic yoga, tai chi, energy movement (in addition to several other programs).

The classes start and end on time. Each class has given me something and relaxed my body condition may it be flu like symptoms or neck/back tightness. On regularly attending classes I was able to recover my upper back pain that has been bothering me for quite a while due to sedentary lifestyle at work. The special programs that I participated in enriched me with insights, useful tools, great connections and healing. The instructors I worked with were great source of inspiration for me. They are talented, sincere and experienced individuals.

I am very grateful to have found B&B Yoga. I feel short/long term association can be an investment on your own self. Something worth trying with an open mind.

Dahn Yoga In kirkland has several very excellent instructors who have more than 10 years of experience and solid understanding of energy work, they embody the knowledge, technics, studious and spirit of Dahn Yoga practice. I had the opportunity to follow more closely with Instructor Bukyung, and can not say enough good words about her. Just being with her gave you the sense of calmness, centered, conviction and drive to keep on working to change energy for your body and soul. I am very grateful for the advice and sincere help received from her and the center. I also took couple of weekend workshops and short seminars with several other instructors, they all are fantastic, emitting the glow and vibration of strength, stillness and inspiration. I have heard several people comment on that it just feel so much more effective to work out in the center and at their home, I think that is why.

Their teaching is based on thousand years of asian traditional medical /energy work, combined with new scientific discovery about our brain's enormous potential for growth and transofrmation. They gave each new comer a evaluation of the health issues and design and work plan for you, and monitor your progress alone the way, and provide guidance and many additional workshops if you desired to further your understanding and progress. As they are international franchises, instructors of different expertise came to the center to give workshop from time to time, you have the opportunity to learn a lot about many right methods of energy practice.

Price wise, their membership compare to other exercise center and gym, is on the premium side, but if you can find a exercise/workout solutions to improve your health problem, avoid/reduce the spending on drugs, the membership is well paid for itself.

I have done a few version of Yoga and Dahn Yoga is by far the best I have found. Not only does it get you in great shape and make the process enjoyable at your own speed. It connects you to your higher power. I have found a spiritual connection I didn't expect. I have been doing Dahn yoga for over a year and half. At first I heard a lot about energy and people talking about feeling their body. I was pretty numb and tuned out when I started, I couldn't feel anything but the way the students all described the same thing, I hoped someday I would also tune in. In the last few months I have started to sense and notice a lot of this energy. The simple practice and processes they have taught me have changed my life dramatically. Not only have I lost over 40 pounds, I am now pretty flexible and able to say I'm in better shape than when I got out of boot camp for the army. The instructors didn't yell at me or force me to do anything either! The peace of mind and clarity it has brought to my life are simply amazing. My family is over joyed at the changes. My work life is better and the way I connect with people is more sincere and real. By coming to class I am able to release the days stress, connect with myself and refocus on my goals. When your mind is clear and you lose your attachments to the material world all things are easy and things just start to line up. If you need a change in your life or feel a bit helpless and just going with the flow or following what society says you should do, give Dahn Yoga a try and find your inner guide to relaxation and enjoy the rest of the ride.

I joined the Tai Chi Dahn yoga class because my mom once brought home an information slip from the Dahn yoga center, and she told me that if I wanted to, I could take classes over there. So I did. The reason I did so was because from the age of 13, my interest in spirituality really started kicking in. I started meditating, discovered about the chakras, meditation, ect...It would help me live a happier, healthier and all around more fulfilling life. I'm interested in discovering my true self and perhaps even, my life purpose. So I am in the hopes that the class I am currently taking, will help me with my goal. Besides, when my mom talked to me about it, I thought it would finally be an opportunity to work with a teacher's guidance.

I haven't been taking the class for too long (less than a year), so I believe there is still much more progress to go and much more to learn. But I have noticed a few positive changes and some good things that happened while in class. There was a week where I had been disappointed and had my feelings hurt by two people. I had been thinking about it for a while and I held a small grudge against them even though I knew I shouldn't. During that week I went to a small meeting they had in the yoga center to learn more about the energies, chakras, what are the benefits of the exercises we do In class, ect... And we did a short exercise that would help us release old energy and let in new energy. I was surprised that at some point, I started crying a little. They weren't deep emotions, I knew that, but I was just letting go of the anger and sadness I had felt that week. And afterwards I had completely forgiven the people who had hurt me and I was happy to move on.

The biggest change I feel though, is that even though I knew it before taking this class, I have realized how important it is to follow my dreams and make them a reality. Something has clicked in me and I realized I needed to start working harder on letting go of negative thoughts, blockages, patterns, ect... I need to let in new, positive energy instead. And so I have been working on that and shall keep doing so. So even though I may sometimes worry about the future, that my goals are in vain, or should I simply feel sad or lazy, I make sure to never let that fully get in the way and then I also believe that things happen, when the right time has arrived.

Another good thing about this class is the energy. Sometimes when we are working on energies in class or doing other exercises, I can feel love and a presence of unity with our group. It's a nice feeling to say the least. The staff and teachers are nice and willing to listen to you. What's also nice about going there is that sometimes you can try out other classes just to see if you like it or if it could benefit you. I have tried another of the classes they offer (life particle workshop) and to say the least, it was interesting and I have learned some exercises (one in particular) I think is quite valuable. Another benefit is that I can definitely deal with stress a little better:) in class I can also concentrate a little better and this can be quite to your advantage when it comes to meditation in particular. And sometimes I feel a little lighter and happier after class . I also used to feel a lot of lower back pain especially when I would lay down. But now, I have it no more.
So far those are my thoughts on this class, as well as a few things about myself and how I came to join the class. I am satisfied and I shall keep coming back for a while, especially since it's also good exercise.

What ever I will say about this place, word will not be enough to describe what I felt what I saw. It is like being in a dream, where you were in a paradise and you are trying to describe the most amazing place and people. I will love you to take my eyes and see what I see because their is no word to describe paradise. In 2 weeks, my life change💃
If you ask me to try I will say. I went to dahn yoga in kirkland and all what I find there is love, kindness, honesty, care, purity, a home , a mother a friend ,...... And finally me😍 don't believe a word I saw, just go there and check it by your self. And you will travail to heaven.

When I first walked into Dahn Yoga Kirkland, immediately I felt a sense of peace. People seemed relaxed and happy. My body was really out of shape because I'd retired and done little to stay fit. At first it was hard to do some of the exercises, but with time I became much more flexible and began to feel good. My friends noticed how much better I looked. They asked me what I was doing to get that "glow" I was wearing. I could feel the difference too. In the mornings when I got out of bed I could straighten up without pain, my blood pressure dropped to healthy & I no longer needed BP medicine. There's a whole list of health improvements I experienced, but the most remarkable was my eyesight. About 6 months after starting classes, my vision improved. I went from a 250 magnification reader to a 125. I found a practice that improved my health and gave me the incentive to continue taking care of myself. That was 10 years ago and I am still a satisfied member to this day.

I joined Dahn Yoga to work on my flexibility. I was not able to touch my toes since I was a kid and after a few months of training, I was finally able to touch them! I also lost a lot of weight through doing their signature intestinal exercise. I love the workshops that were offered through Dahn. They were insightful and practical. I've met a lot of friends through DY workshops and I am grateful for the connection and help that Dahn Yoga provides.

dahn yoga kirkland has the most amazing teachers---their knowledge of how to guide people towards finding their true selves is remarkable. eleven months ago i saw dahn yoga kirkland after shopping at the metro market and thought i would try it. since then, dahn yoga has improved my emotional, and physical self and dramatically changed how i live my life. i simply can't say enough about the dahn yoga center in kirkland---you will walk through a door into the center, and walk out a different person--forever changed. if you want to change your life, highly recommend dahn yoga kirkland.

I've been regularly attending for nearly 3 years now, taking both regular classes and their other programs. A work colleague introduced me to this place. I considered myself fit (gym and PT) and flexible (Bikram, etc) before I came but I didn't feel well most of the time. I really love the energy meditation part of these classes! I had a difficult time relaxing at first - my mind and thoughts were on hyper drive, and I felt awkward just resting and breathing in a room full of people (can you say "Type A Personality"?). Now generally my mind is quieter and calmer. I often feel much more positive, lighter and brighter - especially while at work. Physically from this practice my blood and lymph circulation have improved, the severity of skin breakouts have decreased, and my finger nails are definitely stronger (yay!). For the new comer, I'd suggest keeping an open mind for what I call a "holistic movement" approach (don't expect Sun Salutations or tree pose) and to ask the instructors questions on what's what and why we are doing what we do. To experience benefits sooner, definitely do the suggested home exercises.
Other notes: There is new soft flooring in the training room. There's a changing room and two restrooms. And most conveniently, there are several grocery stores nearby. Say “Hi” if you see me there :)
