I canceled my membership but still somehow got hit with a $500 bill that was about to be sent to collections unless paid day of. This was only missing 3 months of payments (I thought my membership was cancelled). I WOULD STRONGLY WARN AGAINST ANY KIND OF MEMBERSHIP WITH FIT EVO. They are predatory and want to screw you over as much as possible. There IS a contract, there are HEAVY ($100+\month) late fees, they make it an incredible pain to cancel or just to talk with anyone, and they will send you to collections right away with little to no heads up. If you have any issues with the payment, good luck getting in contact with anyone helpful.

With the gym itself, it’s taken over by a large hoard of high school boys. So if you’re a high school boy, maybe this is a good fit. Otherwise, it’s a struggle to use the equipment you want and it’s an off putting vibe.

Overall, gross membership policies, gross crowd of boys and the equipment is mid.

Edit to their response: you say there was all this communication but I only got the one email which I replied to and showed up in person. The email only gave me 3 two hour time frames to come in person to handle the situation. So I showed up in person and the only person I was allowed to talk to about the situation said it was weird because there was absolutely no communication that she could see around the issue on my account from you guys other than that email. Talked to collections, there’s really nothing that can be done now that I’ve paid that money to them. It’s funny that the most communication I’ve gotten from you guys is when I posted a review about what happened. Y’all have lost a law suit around your policies with sending people to collections already, y’all know it’s messed up and continue screwing people over. So for anyone considering a membership, don’t

This review is about the members, not the gym itself. While the gym is great and everyone is nice, it’s increasingly frustrating not being able to access certain spaces or equipment to complete my training routines due to other members sitting on their phones scrolling for 5-10 minutes in between reps. I pay attention to how much they’re lifting because heavier weights do require longer rest time in between. 2-3 minutes max. It’s excessively beyond that, and incredibly rude to everyone else trying to complete their workout and go home. While it’s not the gym employee’s responsibility to babysit how people share equipment in a public space, it is on each of us as individuals to be mindful that other people around us want to use the same equipment. Get your face out of your phone if you’re using equipment. 7 minutes of scrolling instead between each rep is insane.

Management of memberships and that process is why I’m giving it 1 star. Staff and operational mngt seem pretty cool, gyms usually clean and they’re often donating stuff which is nice. But come time to change membership or cancel, they send you to an email which sends you back to the front desk and then both ghost you or give you ultimatums or say things that just don’t make sense and it a little bit feels like you’re trying to leave a gang. It’s ridiculous, save yourself headache and go with the YMCA.

Just beware that they are exactly like every other gym out there and will do their absolute best to steal as much money out of you as they can. Called in to cancel my membership (since I was moving out of town) and they said all I had to do was send an email in and it would be canceled. Apparently not. Unless you cancel OVER A MONTH in advance they will continue to charge you. I guess learn from my mistake 😂 but is still absolutely ridiculous since I was told differently by other employees.

Fitness Evo is an amazing gym! They have a huge selection of machines and free weights, plus plenty of space for deadlifts, squats, and benching without ever feeling crowded. The staff are super friendly and helpful, especially Avery, who made the membership process really smooth. The owner and team are kind and welcoming, which makes the whole environment even better. The gym is decent, but canceling your membership is a nightmare. At Training Grounds, you can cancel instantly with a text, call, or email—no hassle. Here? I tried to cancel in May and was told my cancellation was 'pending,' yet they kept charging me anyway. Now it’s August, and they suddenly require a 'written cancellation'? Whatever that means. It feels like they’re just finding ways to keep charging you. Total ripoff.

Not a bad gym. Better than many. However, I don't feel like us members should be having to ask the staff for personal space while in the middle of actively performing an exercise. This is inconsiderate, distracting, and compromises safety. Please wait for us to finish our sets before cleaning/mopping, hanging up handles behind us, or otherwise getting in our working space. I find it odd that some people actually need to be trained on this.

This gym has a fantastic group exercise program. There are so many classes to choose from and the instructors are absolutely wonderful. I feel safe with the body movements and the pace of the classes. Kristen, the Head of the group exercise program , is an excellent listener and desires to give the members the types of classes that they want. Her customer service is outstanding!

I really like this gym. I’m glad there’s a movie room. Before I signed up I spoke with a woman on the phone and told them I only needed one month of gym membership otherwise I would do a punch pass. She stated that the one month membership was the best option. I asked her about the reviews/policy where people stated they got charged an extra month. The woman told me that was only after the first month so as long as I cancelled before my 1st month was up I would only be charged that initial month membership. Well either she was misinformed or was misleading because FitEvo charged me a second month like the woman on the phone confirmed would not happen.
I emailed my request to cancel and stated the situation and Destiny emailed me back that I was required to pay the 2nd month. I emailed back restating the initial interaction with the woman on the phone providing the wrong information and never heard back.
Gym was fine otherwise.

Manager "Jerad" doesn't beat an eye when the friends of staff that work there vape in the lockers. Staff are rude and not proffessional when you ask them questions. I see it time and time again. Don't throw a fit when your own staff and there friends don't follow gym rules. Why continue to charge people when they cancelled there gym membership? I have been going to fit Evo for 9 years and hands down best gym in bellingham. I have visited several other gyms over the year and have found that fitness evolution rises above. The staff keep the gym so clean and updated. The manager Jared and his wife Becky a trainer are some of the nicest people I've ever met. This gym feels like a family. The vibe is right for reaching your goals in a supportive environment with a manager and staff that truly care about you as a member. ALSO the comment about the manager walking around without shoes is ridiculous this gym as I said is the cleanest around and the manager should not be shamed for having nice feet. I often take my shoes off to lift as the stability is much better and im not worried about it as the gym is so clean. The only places our feet touch are places shoes touch so its not a hygiene issue at all. Let's do better about not putting other down personally in reviews.

I recently rejoined FitEvo and have been very pleased with my decison. It has been nice to see all the improvements that have been made since I left. I’ve been at Fittness Evolution for just over four years now. I’ve visited just about every gym in Bellingham and here is what I like most about Fit Evo: Friendly staff, great gym culture, kind gym members; Sauna (amazing for the skin), Huge selection of free weights and machines; Amazing overhead full spectrum lighting; huge 2nd story cardio deck with new ellipticals ( my go to for cardio) I don’t use the theater cardio or the classes due to time constraints. Jared, the Manager, always friendly, listens to input from the customer. Kristen, the Fitness Director does a terrific job hiring quality group fitness instructors. The classes I have attended are with Kristen, Shari, Kari, Dani, Betty, Adriane, Jeanne, Jovanny, Amanda, Jing and Ian. Hector in maintenance stays on top of repairing any problems with equipment and the building. All are very knowledgeable, professional and not pretentious, I always look forward to the classes! Plenty of equipment and space. Very friendly staff. Some of the equipment could use some TLC. Inexpensive. Rated by my nephew, who lives in Bellingham, has the best gym in town. I went three times, and enjoyed it.
