I love the staff here. For example, Hanna wears her heart on her sleeve, is always polite, and really adds to the chill culture and vibe at 1440. Coach Mike is another standout—he’s always in good spirits and brings such a positive attitude. Overall, it’s a great 24/7 gym for the price. ALWAYS adding and upgrading equipment as well.

I recently signed up for a membership and I wanted to take a moment to highlight the exceptional service I received from Hanna during the process. From the moment I walked in, she was welcoming, professional, and genuinely enthusiastic about helping me find the right membership option to fit my goals.

Hanna took the time to explain all the facilities, membership perks, and class schedules in detail. Her friendly attitude made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. She even gave me a quick tour and made me aware of some of the trainers available which made me feel right at home from day one.

Some new equipment is nice, 24 hours is cool, but this place is DIRTY that for me is one star, sauna is gross moldy there is a water leak from the shower leaking into the sauna, showers also disgusting first time using shower I looked up and saw a bunch of little nats flying around. They need to fix this asap, sauna mold will make people sick. I will not renew membership unless fixed.

Update sauna is still in bad shape several months later, people have started the sauna gum wall to rival Seattles. I don’t think the sauna has ever been cleaned, the sauna control knob has broken and hasn’t been fixed for over 2 weeks now.

A bunch of the machines have loose bolts and nuts that I hand tight often.

Go across the street to River this place is terrible. Gym members don’t care for the place always leaving plastic water bottles in the sauna, on benches, floor.

Urban Fitness was awesome. Fitness 1440 took over and eliminated members who relied on insurance to help cover the cost of membership. So I was told not to return as a result.

The manager seemed to want to cater to a more mature crowd at Fitness 1440, but a lot of adults have insurance to help blunt the cost. So I don't think he thought his business plan through very well. Would probably bring more of his target customers in if he re-established ties with insurance.

Was a great place to workout when I was in the area, I have since moved due to military obligations and no longer need the membership.

I've been a member for over a year and I'm still getting charged without being asked or emailed about renewing my contract.

I've called the front desk several times that has directed me to an email that has brought zero response to my requests of cancelation.

This is a good gym, good equipment and friendly people. But not being able to cancel my membership has become very frustrating, especially because I'm now stationed elsewhere and can't even use my membership.

I'm not really to big on leaving reviews but I have not gotten a response from any of the staff and the receptionist continues to direct me to an email that gives zero responses.

This company decided to buy out the old Urban Fitness and replace it with this new gym.

The equipment is cool and all however the pushy manager Mikey decided to sign me and my friend up for a year long hidden contract disguised behind a 3 day free trial. The manager is so so so very pressuring when it comes to signing up, we told them MULTIPLE times that we were only interested in checking out the gym as we already have memberships elsewhere.

We decided to sign up for the trial membership in which we were told by 2 staff members and Mikey that we could cancel anytime, over phone, text and in person. We were told that we could text the phone number given to us by the staff in order to cancel, in which we did before the trial expired. Next thing you know I have a triple digit charge pending on my bank account, despite me cancelling before hand.

In my attempts to avoid an unnecessary charge I contacted the payment collections company, in which they told me to contact the gym. So I called the gym and they told me to contact the payment collections company. In my futile attempts to cancel over phone I decided to drive to the gym in which I was told I have to cancel my membership through EMAIL, which could have just been easily relayed to me over the phone.

This place has horrible, HORRIBLE business practices and I truly do recommend you avoid this place unless you are fully committing to their gyms and facilities, as they WILL give you the end around when trying to cancel.

Very disappointed to have my low lifetime membership rate canceled that I have had since mid 90’s all the way back to hearts and all through 24 hour fitness ownership. I was give a choice to stay with 24 hour fitness or switch to urban and keep my rate. I switched to urban only to have them go back on their word. Zero integrity business.

Men’s showers are gross and have said things multiple times to staff. Never appear to be cleaned. When signing up the customer service Lady was more interested in kissing her boyfriend then dealing with someone else. Other then that the gym has lots of free weights which is awesome and better atmosphere then most other gyms!

The gym itself is not very well maintained and the staff is fairly unhelpful. My experience was tainted when I had to cancel my membership. I first attempted to cancel it in
early November, calling in and asking about the process, when I was told "I don't know how to do that" and that they would call me back later when someone who knew how got there. I never received a call. Then after being charged for November/December later in the month I called again to ask why I had been charged. The person this time told me it had to be in an email and gave me the email address over the phone, which I spelt out multiple for them to confirm it was correct. I then sent an email on December 8th asking to cancel my membership, knowing that I had signed a membership agreement and that I would likely be charged a fee, although I didn't know how much. Once again in mid December I was charged a membership fee. At this point I was very frustrated, and made that clear over the phone, which I try to never do as I have worked many customer service jobs and know how difficult it can be to deal with angry or rude customers. The person on the phone told me once again that they would have someone contact me. The next day I got an email from the person I believe to be the owner, Brian Montana. He sent me an email detailing that he had not received my initial email, and that they needed 30 days to process my cancellation, during which time I may still be charged the monthly fee. The nail in the coffin though was that he made, what I would consider, a vague threat, by saying that if the cancellation fee was not paid it would be sent to collections. I take my finances very seriously, hence the anger over about $200 total in membership and cancelation fees. Sending a charge to collections can be very serious and can affect ones credit score and cause other issues. I email Brian about this and received no response. Finally this morning I was charged $81.60, which I assumed was the late fee. I confirmed this with Brian over a 10 word email and I am finally rid of this mediocre gym and it's shady management.

I have belonged to several gyms but for a small town they are doing the best job. They are really making an effort to cater to the members. The new general manager, Brian, is making a difference from cleanliness to organization. It is more than a gym. It is an athletic club. This is such an amazing gym. The hours are amazing. From 5 in the morning to 9:30 at night totally leaves room for an gym visit at your ease and pace in your day.

I really love that this gym has an dry sauna. Especially since my lungs hurt from wet saunas. The staff are really kind and responsive as well as responsible.

I appreciate the added bonus of the 2 free training sessions that they include. It helps to kind of have someone give you the feel and knowledge of what you need to do in the gym.

In Overall, this is an amazing gym with great price rates and wonderful people. I am very avidly recommending the Urban Fitness Gym to anyone who has interest in going.

After being caught up in what I felt was a predatory membership scam and being treated a little less like a customer and more like a dirty terrorist by one unnamed female employee, Kyle called me up to discuss the matter like an actual human being. 4.5 Stars. The new location is always clean and the equipment is well maintained. The trainers are easily approachable and offer skilled advice while being totally friendly. There is plenty of equipment so any workout you want to do, you can do here. They've got everything for free weight and machine workouts. If you prefer free weight, they've got it. If you prefer machine, they've got it. Programs are well put together and well managed. The other people that come in are very kind, and VERY rarely will you ever find someone and have a problem with them. The price is very fair as long as you come in atleast two times a week. Any fine print in my contract was well explained and I was not left in the dark about anything. They sent me two, one day passes for friends which I was very thankful for, so I could introduce them to the place in case they wanted a membership. Any inconvenience with billing, bring it up with staff and they will get the problem solved. I had a slight inconvenience when trying to pause my account for a month I was out of town, when they failed to pause it. But as soon as I came back I brought it up with them, they paused my account the month I was actually back, almost as if nothing ever happened.

They have contracts that are not ethical, fine print shenanigans. So I get a membership. Paid a whole year in full because I hate bills, unfortunately I wasn't able to use the member ship more the 2 days. Skip past a year. Keeping in mind I've only showed up to the gym 2 times. They start to doing monthly charges at the start of the new year. No reminder ,no phone call they just start taking. I go in to talk to them they show me fine print of were they are allow to take and not ask. After each contract is done, they start charging monthly automatically.
I know I'm in the wrong and should be watching my account being with drawn from. Doesn't change my opinion on the company and how they do there business.

If you just want a weight room you're not gonna find a gym better then this one. For 30 bucks a month you get quality equipment and and plenty of it as I rarely wait for a machine or a bench. I have been going to this gym for ten years. It has recently changed ownership and moved to a new location very close to the old gym. It now has a more open concept space, exceptional services, the very best staff, fair trade coffee bar and an outstanding HIIT Lab like no other. My results are fantastic. 126 pound weight loss, under my BMI number and top muscle mass for my age and height. All the medical problems I suffered ten years ago are gone; pre-diabetes, high blood pressure and obesity to name a few. It is a place for every body type, shape and size.

I started my journey in late 2012 after a 28 year hiatus from the gym. I was undisciplined and had no real understanding of todays training methods. Update: The new facility is clean, bright and modern. Great use of space, and the equipment is arranged to maximize the the smaller footprint. I've been attending Urban Fitness for about a year and its an incredible gym. The staff at Urban are amazing! Yazmin, Jasmin, or Jazmin (froont desk) always has a smile on her face and that right there motivates you! Urban Fitness is the best place to workout in Skagit Valley. No need for PIZZA in the gym like other places! LET"S GO URBAN!

This is the best gym that I have been to, I love the selection of weights that you can get here. It doesn’t matter if you are just a beginner or an experience lifter, you will perfectly fit in. The staff and the trainers there actually care about you. I didn’t get any personal training sessions at all but the trainers there they treated me just like their clients, which is one of the reasons that makes me stick to this club. If you are looking for some serious results, this is the perfect place for you.

What I love about Urban is the instructors! If you like a personal trainer effect , the shred classes are great! The instructors will push you to the extent that you wish to be pushed and add modifications for injuries. There is step and body pump as well, if you prefer more of a group element.

Outdated equipment and a very unfriendly cancellation policy.

I cancelled my member ship with this club about a week after I signed up. When I went in to cancel I was told on three different occasions a manager had to process the cancellation and that they were not in. I finally delivered a notice of cancellation in writing and delivered it to them in person and then mailed via certified mail. The club continued to bill my credit card. I then disputed the charges on my credit card, which they fraudulently told the bank that I did not properly cancel the membership. So now I have to pursue this matter with them since they can't accept the fact that I cancelled my membership.

Stay away from this club. Their equipment is from the 1990's and ill maintained. And when I confronted the manager about the cancellation, I was advised that their agreements CAN NOT BE CANCELLED. I guess that is what happens when you have a club with sub standard equipment. You really have to lock people in, otherwise they will leave.

Went to close my account. Paid to close it as they required. But they billed me again. I refuse to pay again and blocked them from taking money from my account. They then sent me to collections. I think a group law suit would be a good thing.

I would give it 0 starts if I Could! The same thing happened to me I went in to cancel and now they're saying they're charging me $80 because I had a past due of May which I cancelled on April! I went to planet fitness and anytime fitness and neither of them ever did that, I'm never coming here again and I'm going to make my family and boyfriend cancel their membership!

Trying to close an account with them. Urban fitness did not made it clear how to close account. after 12 month contract they automatically renew membership and still keeps charging. went there to close an account and paid a lot of money just to close the account. After a month they called again to charge another bill total of $80. Called them and tell them to check the paperwork closing the account instead they start asking for membership change paper work or something. After a long conversation they finally found the paper and said everything is good to go after trying to charge and harassing for another month bills when it is already close ad paid for. Really bad billing business. trying to charge people even after the long and expensive closing process. I would not recommend this business.

They don't train their staff as they should. They all tell you different stories on what is needed to be done to close an account.

I moved out of state and they require that I pay the remainder of my contract.

Anyways. If you're wanting to go to a legit gym, go to riverside Health club. The people are nice and you pay for what they have to offer, including customer service.

Great gym. Lots of machines, friendly staff, music is not too loud. Lots of people there at times, but if you look at the graphs Google has on average number of people and dodge the peak hours, you rarely have to wait for anything. Can't beat the price.

I have never dealt with ruder people. I would rather pay 20 more a month to get good customer service at riverside than feel uncomfortable with how rude the people are here.

Going here for cardio while pregnant. Trainer and staff are nice, showed me how to use the machines. I like the body flow class! Only negative is the one year contract since I'll be having my baby smack in the middle of it and will still have to pay for 2-3 months I won't get to use.

They made me paid another three months after I have closed my account. I called several times to discuss my case and they always told me they will let the manager call me back, but never ever did. The last person I talked to was their billing manager, she was nice enough to let me know that I still need to pay because one of employee did not handle my cancelation correctly. "Hello.... I am paying for your employee's fault.What kind of company policy is that?? I was tired of calling and just wanted to get over it so I paid. This is the worst experience ever. Luckily I did not sue them. Too many liars work in there. They told me one thing in the beginning and denies everything at the end. Hate liars. All they want is money money, they never listen to customers' need. Class schedules were never good. I just wasted my money at this place. Totally disappointed. Told all my families and friends in town. Never ever come back and refer to any my friends.

I don't usually write reviews but I left Urban Fitness tonight, sat in my car after a class called Shred and thought wow, I just did that. The name intimidated me, But decided to go with the encouragement from the front desk employee. I was quickly recognized as a new person to class and the instructor made me feel very welcomed and encouraged me to go at my own pace. I later found out she is an Owner.
I joined over a year ago and read all the reviews about the club. I think unfortunately most people tend to write reviews when they have a bad experience then a good one. I see member after member using the club happy and getting results. I realize Urban might not be for everybody but it is for me and I am thankful for the staff the price and the welcoming attitude.
