Great gym for all fitness levels!
Gold’s Gym has nice equipment, a good variety of machines, and most things seem to be working consistently. Coming from someone older and not in amazing shape, I don’t feel intimidated here like I would at a 24 Hour Fitness or LA Fitness. Gym culture is always going to be there, but it really isn’t too bad. I also like that they offer red light therapy and that my membership allows me to bring a guest. The only minor downside is that bringing my preteen daughter can feel a little awkward at times since some 20 something men aren’t always wearing real shirts (or shirts at all), it makes her uncomfortable, but overall it’s a good gym and prices are fair.

I used to go to this gym and people are just jerks.

Cons: Not sure if it's the low light or loud music but people think they can get away with small things. I tried using the sled on the turf and members jump out in front of me. I'm not into confrontations so I just left the gym.

If I could give zero stars I would. Do not EVER sign a contract with this company. They have the worst customer service on the planet and heaven forbid you ever need to cancel your gym membership for any reason because you will have to jump through 100 hoops to get it cancelled and even when they tell you it’s cancelled they could be lying. I was told my membership was cancelled in July, I wasn’t charged in August (so I didn’t think anything of it), then I was charged again in September for the membership AND the annual fee (for a gym I hadn’t been using for months). Upon further investigation I am now being told that my membership was actually never cancelled and no one knows what happened and why I wasn’t charged in August. However, none of it matters because they are unwilling to make it right AND require me to pay next month too in order to actually cancel. This company is corrupt and only cares about money and stealing it anytime they can. So I would advise anyone who is looking at getting a gym membership to literally go ANYWHERE ELSE.

Gold’s Gym Hazel Dell has a special place in my journey.

While I don’t come here as often as I do the Vancouver Mall location, I always enjoy it when I do. It’s a beautifully equipped gym with a great layout and top-tier machines. It can get a little crowded at times—but that’s just a testament to how nice the facility is. People show up because it delivers results.

The staff is always kind and professional, and the manager here has been especially welcoming. Every time I walk in, I feel taken care of, respected, and appreciated.

This gym also carries a deeper meaning for me. During the first year after my spinal cord injury—when I was still using a wheelchair ♿️ to my walker to forearm arm crutches 🩼 too my cane 🦯 —this was the place where I began rebuilding just like the mall. I did most of my early therapy here, pushing through some of the toughest days of my life. It’s humbling to look back and realize how far I’ve come, and this gym played a part in that transformation.

So while I may not be here every day, it will always be part of my story. Thank you to the team at Hazel Dell for being part of my comeback.

I absolutely LOVE this location, but the Kids Club leaves a bit to be desired. I try to let things slide, so when they told me they asked my very confident 3 yr old if she could use the adult sized toilet herself, she said yes but could not & needed assistance, which their staff provided instead of calling me. A couple weeks later my daughter wanted to play alone, but another kid was wanting to play with her. The staff told both myself & his mom that they took it upon themselves to put the kids in timeout punishments, but did not see a reason to call their parents. Today, I went to pick her up & was told “she’s been upset like the entire time” & asked why they didn’t call me if she’s been crying for over an hour. She said “I wasn’t sure if I should because she was crying for no reason”, to which I said, “it wasn’t for no reason.” Once my daughter calmed down, I asked why she was upset & she said because there were 2 girls who kept pushing her down & she was sad. It’s kinda like 3 strikes at this point, they need to have a meeting with their kids club staff & review with them how they are supposed to call parents for bathroom help, conflict resolution & if a child is inconsolable.

At first, you might really enjoy this gym—great lights, trendy setup not enough equipment—but be warned: if you ever decide to leave, you’re in for a headache. Canceling your membership is a frustrating and expensive process. They require a 30-day notice and charge you for an extra month of membership during that period. To make matters worse, the cancellation must be done through an intentionally confusing online system that feels designed to make things as difficult as possible.

If you’re ever late on a payment, expect a $9.50 late fee. These are truly disappointing business practices.

As of 8/28/24, the membership costs $43 a month after tax, which is significantly more than alternatives like 24 Hour Fitness or Planet Fitness. While the gym may look appealing on the outside, the hassle of canceling outweighs any benefit.

I’m sharing this in hopes that it helps others make an informed decision. I give Gold’s Gym 0 out of 5 stars. It’s unfortunate what this business has turned into. I’ve left out half the issues just to keep this review short. Good luck to anyone trying to get out of a membership—you’ll need it.

This location has a club vibe, which I hate, but it is leagues better than the only other location I've been to. At this location the cleaning staff is effective, which is great because people rarely (not never!) wipe things down.

The showers are very nice.

The place is spacious and well stocked.

My only complaint (other than the club vibe; I love the colored lights but I would like to be able to hear the sounds coming out of my own noise cancelling headphones) is the lack of airflow. There's one giant fan and the place is still always hot and muggy. I have been to two locations now so maybe they do it on purpose but I cannot fathom why anyone would want that and I do wish there was better airflow.

I enjoy this gym. Ive been to all the other gyms around and this one is my favorite. Favorite reason is because I tend to work out in evenings and they turn down the lights so u don't have blaring bright lights. You feel less exposed I guess and just way better on the eyes when its starts getting late. Music is loud enough that if u dont have your headphones, it fills that void and I've shazamed a few tracks for sure. Also, I like their built in locking system in the locker rooms. I never brought a lock with me to other gyms but this added detail just gives me peace about leaving my things. The gym over all does not smell bad. Its pretty clean. Things are put away in the correct places. Also, I love the equipment they have. Not all gyms have a hip thruster and setting up your own just takes up a lot of room and time.

Female worker just walked into the men’s room to help a guy that locked his stuff in the locker unannounced! Absolutely unacceptable. Imagine if a man walked into the women’s locker room and didn’t say anything?

Horrible service. I signed up because of their childcare but was disappointed with my experience. Childcare staff was cold and inattentive. Staff clearly looked irritated and unhappy. No greeting or welcome at all for me or my child. They made no effort to play or interact with the kids in the center. Was called back to pick up my child after 5-10 minutes each time I went to try to workout. Do not recommend.

I would NOT feel safe leaving your kids in the care of Gold’s Gym Hazel Dell. On a Sunday, I dropped my two kids (3 and 5) to an unenthusiastic kid care employee. During their time there, a 10-year-old girl, completely unprovoked by either of my children, threw a medium sized plastic toy at my 3-year-old daughter’s face from a very close distance with intention to hurt someone else. My daughter required a visit to urgent care, X-rays to determine if her nose was broken, she was incredibly swollen and had two black eyes plus a gash on her forehead from the force of the hit. I believe part of the reason this happened is due to inadequate staff and lack of safety procedure (or procedures not being followed). While there is supposed to be a 10:1 ratio, there were at least 15 plus kids in there and I only saw one attendant. I later learned they don’t have another dedicated employee for busy times, but a floater who has other responsibilities and pops in to the kid area every so often. Luckily, there happened to be paramedics working out at the time who stepped in to help their limited staff. There are children as young as 1 and as old as 12 in there at any time, so there needs to be much more thought and consideration around safety.

Possibly just as upsetting as the incident itself, their management staff did not seem to really care. They were unapologetic while admitting that their staffing was not adequate that day. They never reached out to me following the incident or got back to me when they said that they would (multiple times!). I requested to hear back confirming the consequences for the other family involved were issued (after being told that they could not reach the family) and how they will be improving safety. After they did mot reach out to me as promised (again), I had to call and ask for that confirmation. I was so frustrated with the lack of communication and care/concern that I asked to discontinue my membership all together. I still haven’t heard back on that either. Another mom recently posted on Facebook that the employees at the kids club “lost” her two year old for a period of time, who was later located in a bathroom. If you’re looking for a safe place for your kids while you can enjoy a workout, Golds Gym Hazel Dell is not a good choice.

If you need childcare and considering getting a membership here please consider somewhere else. When I came to pick up my 2 year old he was no where in sight. The girl working had no idea he was missing! She opened the bathroom door and he was in there crying and so upset. She stated the door is heavy and that she was sorry. There was no good reason for him to be in there in the first place because he is not potty trained. His eyes were so red from crying so I know he had to have been in there for a while. He even kept saying to me "so scary, so scary". We left but I returned back about 10 minutes later and asked to speak to the manager. He told me that the girl working said my son had only been in the bathroom "a couple of minutes" like its no big deal. I told him I disagreed based off how how red my sons eyes were but even so there should never been a reason for children to be unsupervised and if they can't ensure every child is safe they need to have more people working. He told me they have a 1 to 10 ratio policy. Who cares, my child was lost and they had no idea. He could have climbed on the small table or toilet in there and fallen. NEGLECT is very serious and this manager brushed it off like he couldn't care less. I asked to cancel the childcare from my membership and he wouldn't even help me with that. I for sure will not be using Gold's Gym in the future once my contract is up Im sure they wouldn't let me break it early. I cannot believe how terrible the management was in this situation.

Love this gym! The reason I signed up was for the the cardio cinema. It’s my favorite thing! The loud movies help me forget the pain on the treadmill 🥵. And the showers are super clean and I love the pink neon lights. I hope they keep up with the clean shower heads from limescale buildup though cuz other gyms don’t 😭.

💲Also to people complaining about the billing— when I signed up the terms and conditions were clear. There are cancel fees if you sign up for annual and leave early and you also have to give a 30 day notice like most gyms or memberships.

🎧🎶When I did a guest pass I noticed how loud the music was but I didn’t mind and signed up anyways. So not sure why ppl are surprised? I hate quiet gyms where you hear chatter and the clink of weights. I wear noise cancelling headphones when I want quiet music anyway.

🫧✨Overall the gym is clean and smells nice and the members are a reflection of it. Everyone puts in effort to look their best and not come in like they rolled out of bed. It’s made me put in more effort into my lifts and looking my best too and I feel good 👍. I’m so happy I switched from my other gym. It was an extremely dusty and dirty gym.

❌My only critique would be that I would like to see more customer service. Even when I came as a guest I wasn’t offered a tour I had to ask for help multiple times from staff for various things. I was kind of overwhelmed when I first walked in and would have loved a tour!

I really wanted to love this place. It’s an incredibly well equipped gym with lots of space and free weights for days (compared to most gyms just packed with mostly useless machines).

Unfortunately I couldn’t stomach the thumping club music and lighting. Some people must love that I guess, but I need some peace when I pump ✌️🏋️

I’d love to see a quieter hour once a day or something to accommodate folks with neurodivergence, or anyone who cherishes some peace.

Been going here for a little over 2 years now. I’ve made some of the best gains of my life, and even better friends at Gold’s PNW. The facility is always clean: gym floor, lockers, showers, and sauna. There are a myriad of membership options to choose, and I definitely find mine relatively affordable for the services I’m getting. Give this place a shot!

I really, really, really loved this gym up until about a month ago (when the outside temps increased). I work out weekdays at 4:30am, the AC is not working properly and it feels like working out in a sauna. And it wasn’t just one day - it’s been this way for well over a month now. All of the alarms have been lit up on the air handling system since forever. Everybody in there at 4:30am is a sweaty mess and now it’s even starting to smell bad and just feels unclean (no matter how hard the cleaners work - they’ve started to use strong smelling cleaners to mask the ick, but it’s still there).
More and more of the equipment is faulty in one way or another. Treadmills broken, making loud screeching noises or the incline clunking or not working at all.
I tried to work out in the cinema room where it might be cooler and most of the equipment in that room has issues...
I called to ask to talk to a manager today and his response was basically, “it is what it is” and there is nothing that can be done.
Please fix the AC and fix the broken equipment and I will be back with a 5 star review…

I really enjoy the vibe of this location, the lighting in particular is nice. Has a good selection of equipment and everything seems to be in working condition. Also appreciate the chill staff, everyone is friendly and there was never any pressure to sign up after using our guest pass the first time. I really wish the kids club was open until 8pm vs 7. Most other gym daycares are open until 8 which makes a world of a difference when you’re rushing after work to get a workout in before they close. Also not a fan of the one shared sauna. It’s a little intimidating walking into a small dark space filled with a bunch of sweaty men lol. I wish they had separate ones in the locker rooms like they do at the Vancouver mall location.

Gym seems really nice but I’m disappointed by their unwillingness to negotiate. As a military family we have access to a gym program that would cost about $28 a month, unfortunately Gold’s doesn’t participate in the program. They also don’t offer family memberships, so you are paying for multiple individual memberships and they don’t discount. I had hoped the sales team would be willing to work with us to compromise but they have zero interest in obtaining our business.

Love the gym, don't love the short hours of the kids club. Very stressful getting work done and a toddler out of the house to get to the gym before 11am for a workout. With most preschools in session from 9am to noon, it would benefit many work from home parents who have younger kids at home the ability to go to the gym between 12-3 too when elem and middle schools get out so they can prioritize work in the mornings.

I love the Hazel Dell Gold’s Gym location. It is always clean, the staff is very friendly, and happy to accommodate questions or concerns. They are quick to their feet when there is a problem and the machines are in great shape (and a chunk of them are even brand new). Though the sauna is full most of the time and the towel/spray bottle return is inching closer and closer to the front counter LOL, I have been a member for more than a year now and I recommend it to everyone. I went in at noon today, Saturday, to use the virtual Les Mils program in the GGX room as it's the main reason I joined Golds. One more time the app is down and the staff doesn't know how to fix it/reset the ipad. It should be easy to operate if other members are using it for music.This happens more times than not on the evenings and the weekends that I go in and so disappointing. I pay double the rate at Golds then I do at another gym so I can have access to the LM program. Been following LM for 15 years and love love love the various formats they offer. I've spoken to the manager on 3 previous occasions about this and was assured that the staff would get trained on how to operate the system. At this point I'm considering canceling my membership.

I had been a member for over a year, but decided to freeze my account for a couple months. After they charged me the annual fee, I asked to freeze the account again, which they were fine doing, but neglected to share they would still charge me $15 per month. I decided to cancel in mid-August, but they claim I had already paid for September and last month (October). I have specifically asked to sign up for a month to month term agreement just in case if I would want to cancel I wouldn’t have to break any “contracts” and pay a ridiculous fee. I wish I remembered the ladies name who was signing me up but clearly she messed everything up. When I decided to cancel gym membership they told me I had to pay “$125” in order to cancel. This gym only supports users who arrive by car or maybe bus. There is no place for cyclists to secure their bikes while using the facilities. No cameras, no bike rack, and no place indoors, just no way to leave a bike unless I secure it at Kohls or Target across the towncenter. I recently joined Gold's Gym, and in the short time I've been a member, I have been quite impressed with the facilities. The gym offers a wide range of machines and equipment, catering to various fitness needs. The cardio cinema feature is a standout, allowing me to enjoy a movie while working up a sweat on the treadmill or stationary bike.

The gym is well-maintained and kept clean, which is a big plus. The staff does a great job of ensuring the equipment is in good condition and ready for use.

However, there is one aspect of Gold's Gym that I find disappointing: their policy on recording or filming oneself in the gym. As someone who likes to track my progress visually and occasionally share it with others, I was disappointed to learn that recording is not allowed.

I understand the need for privacy and respect for others' personal space, but being able to record my workouts is an important tool for me to monitor my form and progress. It would be great if Gold's Gym could reconsider their policy or provide designated areas or time slots where recording is permitted, as long as it is done with consideration for others.

Despite this setback, I still highly recommend Gold's Gym for its great facilities, especially the cardio cinema experience. It's a motivating environment that encourages individuals to achieve their fitness goals. I hope that in the future, the gym will review and revise their recording policy to accommodate those who find value in documenting their fitness journey.

Golds Gym Hazel Dell is always so clean! Their staff is incredible (shout out Aliyah in the kids club & front desk) and we always feel so welcome.
As a female, I've never felt more at peace with a gym.
I've never had anyone harass me or even stare at me and make me feel uncomfortable while working out. I've had 1 incident ever at this gym and the staff immediately took care of it and even checked in with me to see if they could help further.

The lighting in this gym is absolutely terrible. Neon lights everywhere? Why? Looks more like a night club than a gym. Hurts your eyes looking at them after a while.

I originally gave this place a 5 star. Now, they have made their way to a 1star. This gym has become extremely crowded and way to busy for how small this gym is. You will be awaiting to use the equipment for a while and you have teenagers who travel In packs that will sit and sit around a machine, instead of freeing up space if your not using it.

while it maybe be easy to get singed up. It’s is very difficult to cancel your membership with all these loop holes to jump through. I will NOT be signing up with golds ever again. I’ll be going back to LA fitness. I’m not impressed.

Golds Hazel Dell has adequate parking, clean restrooms, and the gym is clean. Staff is friendly. It's busy on weekend as would be expected. The "smoothies" are watery, but I'm used to a thicker home-made version, so I think it's just preference. It's worth the money.

I am a college student and was looking for a gym to use on a month plan and was offered a one month plan by a representative. I have since been charged for another month of gym services and they are refusing a refund after i was told i would not be charged another month after the one i payed for. Customer service is very poor at this gym and would not recommend.

Only two complaints: there's no pool and music is basic commercial gym garbage. I'm not sure who controls that playlist, but I doubt they even lift (common mecca!). Other than that everything is on point

Great gym for those that are more experienced lifters. There is equipment for all but the crowd tends to lean more towards intermediate and advanced lifters. Very clean and the lighting is great. The spacing between the equipment is a nice touch. Overall a great place for a workout!

I asked for a 30 day membership and but instead they put me on a reoccurring membership that charged my bank account 4 times over what I wanted ($160). I asked for a refund, instead they asked me to pay an additional $40 to close the account in “good standing”. Can’t make this stuff up.

The staff are friendly and helpful. The equipments are brand new and there’s quite a variety of them for most fitness needs. Masks however are not really mandatory, even though there’s a sign. So that’s a good thing or a bad thing depends on how you see things I guess.

It can get pretty busy but it’s so massive that you can work around other people without much trouble.

This place is great. Nice and new equipment. Only 1 tanning bed though. But, it's stand up and hot so you don't need to be in there nearly as long. They also have 2 massage chairs and red light therapy. The sauna is coed, located in between the men's and women's locker rooms. It is busier than the van mall location but newer equipment. Either way, it's a great place and I will definitely be back.

As for corona, following all guidelines... everything gets wiped down, and you carry a cleaner bottle with you so they don't have to close down to wipe everything. Good selection of machines and weights, and great workers. Always so nice whenever I come in.

I waited for this location to open for a good while now and it's finally open!! The gym is beautiful. Very spacious with all the equipment you can ask for. Tanning is perfect. The massage chairs are perfect. The staff is so friendly and amazing that I look forward to their faces every day walking through the door. Shout out to Nicole!!
