Oh wow what administrative hell. If you want your credit card to be charged in perpetuity for classes that never happened, do sign up here.

Gym East Issaquah has zero management, terrible front desk who doesn't know how to answer questions about anything, and staffing issues (coach no-shows). There are a couple good coaches who are actually enthusiastic with the kids, the others I've seen look like they don't want to be there. I don't recommend this place to others.

Terrible place. If I could give it 0 stars I would. If you pay ahead for classes be warned - they will not honor the refund policy.

My wife had a disappointing experience with this gymnastics center. They initially agreed to specific terms, took the payment, but later failed to honor the agreement. When she requested a refund due to their failure to deliver, they initially agreed to refund but later refused to refund. This lack of professionalism and accountability is unacceptable. I would caution others to get everything in writing and proceed carefully before committing.

We had our daughter enrolled in a late evening class (mini flips). I was absolutely unimpressed by the coach. They stood in a corner (read far with hands in pocket) and only gave oral instructions. I never saw them spotting, helping, or showing the kids on how things are done. I have never seen any sport being taught that way. We moved from another city where the coaches were hands-on and always guiding, showing, and teaching the movements.

I am not sure if all coaches are the same but our experience with this particular coach wasn’t pleasant at all and we did not see any improvement in our child.

My daughter loves this gym! She has had such a positive experience growing throughout the recreational and team programs! She has had the most amazing coaches who haven't only developed her gymnastic skills but life skills that have had such a positive impact on her life.

My daughter really enjoys gymnastics east. However, my one complaint is that all the kids use the mats and equipment bare foot. Then all the coaches use it with dirty shoes on. My daughter comes home with dirty feet and hands. It’s quite bothersome to me. The coaches all seem quite pleasant and good with the kids.

I would like to give no star to Issaquah gym.

First coach we met in Washington state was in this gym, and we were so disappointed!!

If your kids belong to a competition team, I do not think this gym is great.

My daughter was admitted into one of best gyms in California (which makes many national and state level competition winners.)

The coach I met( team level 2 and 3) requested the evaluation fee like $45 per half hour or $35 per class for three times ($35*3) just for the evaluation. I remember she mainly talks about $. No Californian gym has a coach like her.

When we visited there, we were surprised at the ways this coach is teaching children and overall students' performance. Class looks very unorganized and inefficient. Teachers do not seem respectful to students. As staff's teaching is not great, students' performances seem not that great.

One nice staff(Katy) allowed us to get an evaluation this morning. We got an appointment from her. Katy said that evaluation is free actually. We visited there, but this coach changed her words(changing time) and asked again $$$.

If her teaching level is great, we will be willing to pay more.

With such a low level teaching skills, I do not think that a penny and any time is worthy!

We are moving to Washington from California. This gym shocked us and made us reconsider on not moving to Washington state.

If you have a competitive gymnast, please choose a good gym. Our current gym in California has very nice staffs including Olympic silver medalist and other nationally competed teachers, and they are very respectful to children and teach children gymnastics with very enjoyable ways!

The quality of coaching has diminished overtime. There seems to be no accountability. There are only 2 good coaches at the Issaquah location, who really care, but they book out fast and/or they usually coach during school hours. The rest of them seem unhappy, withdrawn, not paying attention. The Social-emotional development is non-existent here. I often see girls being literally yelled at for not doing things properly. Consider that and a bunch of strange parents staring at them during practice. How uncomfortable and intimidating...

Couldn’t say enough good words! Today was first day for my daughter, she is bilingual but we still working on her English, and I was not expecting so much attention and patience from her instructors. Thanks you for your professionalism!

Both my son and daughter have taken gym classes at Gymnastics East over the years. We have always been impressed with the teachers and the quality of the classes. The teachers become mentors to the kids and truly help instill great values that will help them with all aspects of their lives. My son is a team sports athlete and the classes that he attended at Gym East were very complementary to his team sports, giving him the upper body strength and the flexibility needed to help prevent injury and increase strength. My daughter attended classes mainly at the Issaquah location off and on over the years. The rec classes were perfect for her as she enjoyed the low pressure environment. My daughter also attended the summer camp in Bellevue and had a wonderful time, learned many new skills and made new friends. My kids are teens now and I partner with Gymnastics East with my active apparel business. The owner is lovely to work with and is truly committed to the community and her gym. I highly recommend Gym East.

We've been going to the Issaquah location for 5 years with both of my kids, and have been really happy with our experience. For toddlers, the parent-tot classes are great - much more structured and purposeful than The Little Gym. Instructors are patient, enthusiastic, and knowledgeable, and do their best to meet kids where they are. The only real hiccup we've had was when I wanted to book my daughter's birthday party here a couple of years ago and had some missed communications resulting in our having to do the party on a different day than we had wanted, but they did a great job facilitating the party. I see a lot of negative reviews here, and thought I'd try to counteract them with a good one :) We've tried kids' activities at a lot of different places, and this is one we keep coming back to.

My daughter was at the 6:30 little bouncers class today (this was her 3rd class of the school year). She wore a 2-piece Ivivva (Lululemon kids brand) gymnastics outfit. When I picked her up from class she was wearing a t-shirt on top of her outfit, and when I asked her way, she told me that her teacher told her in front of the whole class that she is not allowed to show her stomach. She said she felt embarrassed because she didn't know and it was unnecessary to tell her in front of everybody. I went up to the front desk to return the t-shirt and ask them why she was put in a t-shirt. The woman I spoke with told me that they are not allowed to show their midsection. By the way, I think it's HIGHLY hypocritical as all the other girls wear leotards with butt cheeks exposed. Personally, I would rather show stomach than butt cheeks but to each their own πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„. So, I told the woman that I was unaware they have a dress code as it was never shown to me, it's not posted anywhere in their facility, or on their website for that matter. She told me "it's probably in one of our waiver". Fine, it's totally okay for them to have a dress code but it's their responsibility to inform parents and they failed to do that. Otherwise, as far as I'm concerned a gym outfit is a gym outfit. I have a problem with:

- One: the way it was handled. Do NOT take it up with my daughter and embarrass her in front of the whole class. Take it up with me! The parent.
- Two: When o gave the t-shirt back to the woman I spoke with, she told me to keep it. I told her that I didn't want to keep it. She said "in that case, take it with you and bring it back next week washed". Then, she walked away and I heard her say "Well, that was awkward!". Yes, I heard you and that was as unprofessional as the way you handled the situation with my child.
- Three: the lack of communication. If you have a dress code that you enforce with such lack of class and empathy, then, it's YOUR responsibility to make sure everyone is aware.

My child does NOT want to return to this sorry excuse of a gym as you embarrassed her in front of her classmates, therefore, I'm canceling her membership first thing in the morning.
I should have checked your lousy Google and Yelp reviews before I ever signed her up.
