Bob and Ki are truly exceptional humans and gifted yoga teachers. In just under four consistent months of practicing with them, they have transformed my life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. Their guidance, presence, and wisdom have supported my growth on every level. If you have the chance to learn from them, take it — you’ll be so grateful you did.

I live next to this studio and was helping a DoorDash driver find an address, I asked the owner if she knew where the address was since I am new to the area, I was met with a rude answer and attitude. Not sure why the owner of a yoga studio has so much hostility towards other people. Will never go here.

Ki and Bob are amazing instructors and it's one of the best Yoga experiences I have ever had. Appreciate all the hard work they put in to correcting postures, reminding us to breathe :) and making the atmosphere conducive to healing and growing. Couldn't have asked for anything more!

You should definitely check out this studio if you are into a no-nonsense yoga practice.
I recently attended Bob's 5:30 PM Thursday class, and it was truly one of the best I've experienced. Notably, Ki, the other instructor, actively participated alongside us while Bob provided hands-on assistance. What set Bob's class apart was his skill in guiding me to explore deeper into my poses. He offered cues, encouraging adjustments, and moments to reassess, allowing me to find new depths in my practice.
They do offer a mat, a block, and a (yoga) ball that you can borrow (maybe they have other things as well that I didn't look for). I don't notice any shower for students though. For the parking situation, there are a plenty of street parking on NE 112th St (probably around 10).
Plus they also have a few cats that might pop up to greet you!

This place has changed my life.
As a beginner, they are welcoming to all humans and give you the tools to breathe, thrive and influence positive change.
As a more advance student, both Ki and Bob give you the space to grow. They genuinely respect your path and guide each student based on their strengths and limitations.
In 6 months of dedicated practice I have strengthened my immune system, regulated my nervous system, boosted my metabolism and corrected a lifetime of bad posture. I grew 3/4 of an inch!

Been waiting 20 years for a studio of this quality to come to this neighborhood. I have gone twice a week, and they also have online broadcasts that you can view from a home studio. I won't say that I am feeling better than I ever have, because I know how far I have to go. But I will say that this path will get me to where I want to go. Thanks to Ki and Bob.

I have been taking classes at the Hatha Yoga Center going on 5 years and the owners Ki and Bob have always been welcoming, caring and provide very detailed instructions. They never push anyone beyond their physical capabilities and are very keen on getting to know each person in every class. As soon as the pandemic started they went to virtual teaching which has been wonderful and allows me to take classes either live or later in the day when I have the time. As a result I have been able to take a yoga class now for 276 consecutive days during this pandemic. A testament to the quality of Bob and Ki’s teaching are the amount of long term practitioners that have been taking classes at the Hatha Yoga Center. I have taken classes at many yoga studios throughout Washington and this one is by far the best. They really work well with folks new to yoga in addition to seasoned yogis. Give this studio a try. Currently they conduct classes on Facebook Live Stream. I highly recommend the Hatha Yoga Center. Namaste 🙏

Hatha Yoga Center has been so helpful to me in safely providing livestream yoga classes throughout these challenging times. I have practiced here for about 5 years, and I have so missed my live yoga classes throughout this pandemic and business shutdown. Ki’s instruction is very precise, and she remembers every one of my physical issues and limitations and tailors her instruction during each class to the students who are in attendance and what their needs are. Her yoga has dramatically improved my functioning and reduced my pain even with an inflammatory arthritis condition that I have. Fortunately, Bob and Ki and several of their other instructors have continued to provide all their regular classes plus a couple of additional time slots through their live-streaming Facebook page. At age 65, and with my health issues it is so important for me to reduce my risk of exposure to Covid. Thanks to their efforts to continue to offer their yoga through livestream classes, I am able to take care of myself as well as continue to support their business. All together we can still find ways to get through this time healthy and happy. Highly recommended!

Went on a Saturday to go to acupuncture and ask for yoga information and the worker slammed the door on my face! She rudely told me that she was recording a live stream and that she couldn’t help me. There was no sign up saying as such so how was I to know? Very very unwelcoming! Clearly not a true yogi and highly unprofessional. Hope she works through whatever darkness she is in.
Edited to add that it was the owner Ki who treated a potential new comer this way.

Bob and Ki are deeply experienced practitioners and teachers. The studio has a feeling of warmth and acceptance for all body types and ages of practitioners. After practicing with Bob for many years I moved away from the area and I was unable to find a teacher that approached yoga so holistically and practically. Since moving back at a much older age, Bob and Ki have literally healed a small back issue that had been brewing for years. Truly a wonderful gift the Hatha Yoga Studio, get there if you can. Added bonus, Saturday morning yoga followed by the University Street Fair is a sweet wonderful way to start the weekend!

The Hatha Yoga Center is the real deal.
If you're looking for real yogis to learn the science of yoga, then look no further.
I was lucky enough to come across them on my search for an authentic yoga teacher training course where I could learn beyond standardized, commercialized asana practice. I was incredibly pleased as I entered the program for my first weekend, with immediate focus on meditation and keen hands-on corrections. My body improved and changed drastically over the next two years, as did my body of knowledge in anatomy, kinesiology, and yogic philosophy and spiritual study as well as practice. So much was I inspired, that I continued on study to become a massage therapist and practice working therapeutically with the body full-time.
The knowledge and expertise that Bob and Ki have is invaluable. Both have been teaching as well as practicing for over 30 years. Ki was once a physical therapist, massage therapist, psychotherapist, and is a Reiki Master, with an incredible well of natural health knowledge. She has also studied yoga in India, which speaks of practice in the true authentic lineage of yogic tradition. All of such knowledge comes through in her classes as well as in the teacher training program. Bob has deep roots in meditation, wrote Yoga for a New Age (an essential tool for mastering an alignment-based practice), did graduate-level academic work in Kinesiology, and will provide a rich new sequence of yoga poses in every class. They both have also practiced and taught out of Bali for 15+ years.
Bob and Ki both ooze dedication from the fibers of their being. They breathe, chant, walk, talk, eat, drink, and sleep yoga. When I think about where to practice, I've continued to return to the Hatha Yoga Center for the sheer breadth of knowledge and wisdom that this level of true commitment to their practice provides. They are a hidden gem of a yoga studio.
