This is a classy little facility. It packs a lot of well executed features into a small space and is home to a vibrant, growing, & welcoming community. So so so happy a gym of this caliber is available to me on this side of the mountains.

We have been coming to High-Steppe for quite some time and always have an amazing time! I had to come on and rave about the experience we had two days ago though.
We picked an unfortunate day to come with our 4 and 5 year old. The auto belay wall was closed and a big chunk of the bouldering wall was closed to re-route. We completely understood, but since there wasn't much our boys could do, we asked if we could have the passes refunded for them so we could come a different day. They were more than willing to refund BUT the owner or manager (I'm not sure which) came out and offered to teach my husband and I to belay instead so we could have access to way more routes in the gym.
He turned what could have been a negative experience (even though we never would have blamed them) into an exceptionally positive one. He spent at least an hour with us teaching us to belay, helping keep our boys entertained, and we had the most fun we've ever had.
I can't recommend High-Steppe enough. Their customer service is unbeatable and we always have an amazing time. Thank you!!

Came from Ellensburg (the CWU climbing wall was closed for winter break) and really enjoyed the friendly and relaxed vibe. Wide variety of routes, great place to train for our next climbing trip. Wish it was a little closer to home!!

My 12 year old and I had a GREAT time. No climbing experience needed at all. Super friendly staff and they have all the equipment and knowledge to get you going. Will definitely be back with my 10yr old and 3yr old. So glad Yakima has this place β€οΈ

We had our sonβs birthday party here and it was above and beyond our expectations. Thereβs a very nice and spacious private room and we were able to bring in our own food and drink, but the best part was the support and encouragement of the staff. We had 10 kids climbing (all beginners) and each one was given undivided attention and coaching on their climbs when they wanted it. I believe the gentleman that was with us the majority of the time was Matt? Several kids made comments afterwards that he was incredibly kind and encouraging to them.
I was also pleasantly surprised at the pricing - it was around $300 for two hours of unlimited climbing for 10 kids and the use of the party room. Compared to the cost of parties at the trampoline park, laser tag, etc. we felt this was the very best value.

Great building, lots of usable space. This climbing gym seems to have been usurped and transitioned into a trampoline park. Still a great place, but not my personal vibe.

I was so happy when a rock climbing center came to Yakima! I have an annual membership but don't go as often as I should. They have a good variety of routes for roped in climbing and bouldering. I wish they had the auto belays a little more spread out since I'm mostly climbing by myself and I don't really like bouldering but otherwise I'm thrilled with this place.

Great bouldering and rope climbing facility. Everything is clean. Service is friendly. The only reason its missing a star is because $25 for a session is bit too high but all in all great experience.

Love the space, layout and staff friendliness. So very accommodating to kids and βbigger kidsβ alike! The βboxβ gym has what you need for strength training and thereβs plenty of room to spread out during busier times. High Steppe is adding more routes and problems over time. excited to see what the future holds!

Love this place! Owners are doing a great job. Used to belong to the Circuit in PDX, but appreciate the unpretentious vibes here more. Awesome spot for every age. Love the opportunity for kids to train/compete. Climbing gym memberships are generally not cheap, but if you love the sport-it is the place to be to work on your skills, have fun, and build community. Cheers!

This gym is very clean, safe, and kid-friendly offering auto-belays and a sport-wall for practicing lead-climbing. They also have a full-sized cross training equipment center and yoga studio/classes. The gym was on the smaller side for us with routes not updated super regularly. Giving a 1 star because they have some kind of third party software/financial management company that limits their ability to serve customers with their memberships in a fair or efficient manner. Be prepared to pay a start-up membership fee and then a monthly fee on your credit card if you need to pause your membership for a while. Canceling your account entirely requires a physical trip to the gym and they may just keep charging you anyway. They have no way to issue you a refund per their third party agreement even if they messed up.

Newer gym that has a some potential. The bouldering walls are a bit bare, and the rope walls 30' tall. The setting seems mostly accurate to the grades. Amenities include hangboards, training gym, yoga classes, lockers (byo lock), and shower.

Fun and hands on! Overall, great time and I am looking forward to the next trip.
Had kids 9, 6 and 3 scaling the walls for a couple hours, all smiles. There are a bunch of neat programs for youngsters to hone their skills and have a rocking good time. Our first experience went well, we were geared out and introduced to the wall in under 10 minutes. As the kids and myself were enjoying our time, an instructor was giving me extra info and a run down of how things operate.

First opportunity to climb here! It has a mix of bouldering, auto-belay, and top rope opportunities. Friendly staff, there was a birthday party going on separate from our group and the stay was kid-friendly. The little bit of climbing community I saw and chatted with were a kind, fun, and snarky set of characters. Fun experience and looking forward to my next climb there!
