My wife and I went here for the first time after not working out in forever. We did an 8:15 class with Sarah. It was a small class which was preferred personally. The workout was great!! I like that it was full body, and not concentrated just on abs etc. Didn't leave feeling like i wanted to throw up which i do must times 😑. The people in the class were very nice and helped us adapt to the flow of the class. Very welcoming vibes. Woman owned and operated! Will definitely be back 🤗

Such a great workout, alternating cardio and strength to create an effective workout. It's important to listen to your body, but also to test and push beyond what you think you can do, and the environment fully supports this. The classes are invigorating and challenging, and the support from the whole staff is greatly appreciated. They also play great music which makes it fun and adds to the intensity!

Super clean, well maintained gym! So far I’ve only used the kids area once but my son loved it. I love the vibe of class, the instructors have all been amazing and the times available are great! This place is life. I never thought I’d be the one to go for group workouts, but HIITLAB does it differently, and they do it RIGHT. There is such a sense of community here, true belonging. All the coaches are so inspiring, funny, and genuine. They meet you where you’re at - no pushing you to potential injury. They push you to push yourself, but remind you to check in with your body through the workout. Every exercise is demonstrated with a wide range of adaptations, from removing impact/injury flares, to adding challenge of you need it. Besides the intense and efficient exercise, this place is truly community-based. They are constantly looking for ways to help and give back to the community they are in. Throughout the year there are fun challenges to help members with self-motivation, but each one is tied to a local charity. Finally, you can get 2 trial classes for just $15! The risk yo rewards ratio couldn’t be better for you, so do it! For you and for your community!

I tried my two classes for $15 (awesome deal!) and I’m signing up for more today. I’m far from a gym person and have several health conditions that make working out stressful for me, but the instructors at HIIT lab have been so supportive and welcoming that I don’t dread navigating any part of the workout process!

The structure of each class gives me a way to push myself as hard as I can without going too far, and I don’t have to give a super extra detailed health briefing to access the class either— it just works. The instructors always give several alternatives to higher impact exercises, so if you know something won’t jive with your body (like high impact jumping with bad knees or something) you get some alternatives to try instead, no questions asked! My cardio fitness is currently pretty low, so I also appreciate the flexibility to adjust the treadmill portions appropriately— I’d rather be speed walking than sitting a cardio section out because I can’t jog that fast yet!

I love the inclusiveness of the space and the attitude of the classes as a whole. I never thought I’d look forward to going back to the gym but HIIT Lab makes it possible for me, ha! I’m so happy I’ve found a place to get back in shape after major surgery. I’m already feeling a difference in my energy levels after only 2 classes.

A very challenging workout in a high energy, high positivity environment. Of my first 20 classes so far, none have been the same. Lots to like about HIIT Lab!

The first think to know is that Cathy (owner extraordinaire!) has navigated COVID extremely well: she's maintained a safe training environment over the past 2 years despite all COVID's challenges (and changes) to the fitness industry.

WORKOUT: 50% of the time on treads, 50% off doing high-intensity bursts of weight training and body-weight exercises. Active time is ~40 minutes, not including the warm-up and stretching cool-down. Lots of incline running, low-rep As-Many-Rounds-As-Possible (AMRAPs) circuits, and TRX exercises.

TRAINERS: Great! Happy to help you scale up/down as needed. Good, trainer led warm-up and post-workout stretching sessions.

CROWD: Crowd tends to be 25 to 35-year olds and skews female. Workout is great for anyone, and can easily be scaled to your needs (lighter weights, faster on the tread, etc.)

EQUIPMENT: Shiny and new! Probably the best maintained equipment I have ever seen.

LAYOUT: Everyone gets their own station, whether inside or outside.

PARKING: Private lot along side of building. No garage, fees, or other hassles.

PRICE: Lots of options. Packs never expire, so great for people who travel for business.

An active person, but not an athlete, HIIT Lab is unlike anything I have ever experienced.

I was worried about joining "a fitness class" to help me regain strength and manage pain. My preconceived notions were dispelled in my first class.

I have a myriad of physiological issues, many made worse by being a Mom to three small people. The flexible schedule and the rythms of the class (short, sweet, and very challenging) suit my schedule and my ability level.

Cathy and her team challenge me, strengthen me, and encourage me (everyone is positive and helpful; I know I am safe and supported).

I have been going to HIIT Lab (a local woman of color owned gym) for more years than I can count! The way Cathy and her team are able to adapt what they do (moving to a new building, running a gym during a pandemic, provide modifications when I have an injury) is really impressive. I have been a regular here for a few years now. They offer classes that fit with everyone's work schedule. What I enjoy most is the communal feel amongst staff and attendees. It's a welcoming group of people who don't judge and welcome all as they are. The instructors are all very knowledgeable and make the classes fun and engaging. Each workout is different and I'm still sore after most classes (it's a good thing...I have biceps now!). The owner, Cathy, is active in our local community and I appreciate supporting a local small business that also gives back. What you see is what you get here: no gimmicky signups deals, no cancellation issues, just top notch equipment, awesome staff, clean bathrooms and showers, amenities you didn't know you wanted but totally make your life easier, and the flexibility that has allowed all of us to work out and stay safe through all the phases of COVID. I absolutely love this fitness studio. First, the community here is so inviting and friendly. You’ll start to see familiar faces quickly and the vibe is so warm and inclusive. Second, the workouts are AMAZING. Hard!! But with a lot of room to modify for your pace and body. The instructors are great about giving options so you can get a good sweat on without overdoing it. You will never feel like you need more challenge though - the workouts are hard, letting you choose how much you want to push. Even coming just twice a week will quickly start to tone every area of your body. This total body workout gets results fast. And it’s quick enough (50 min from warm up to cool down) that you can’t make excuses about being too busy. Once you start, before you know it, it’s over. My partner and I - two people who could not approach fitness more differently - both absolutely adore HIIT Lab.

He appreciates how challenging the workouts are and how he's still (a year and a half after our first class) sore after each class. I appreciate that the very first thing Cathy told me was that I should measure my progress against myself and nobody else. She meant that! I still feel that way!

We both appreciate how forward-thinking Cathy and her team are. They fight tooth and nail for social justice. They use data and science to figure out how to safely have group classes during a pandemic. They take their roles as instructors and community leaders seriously and it shows in their willingness to adapt (so. much. adapting) and always do the right thing.

ALSO, THIS REVIEW IS ~SERIOUS~ BUT I WANT TO EMPHASIZE THAT THE CLASSES ARE FUN!! They're fun and I hate moving so, so, so much (you know those nightmare floating pods in WALL-E? I'd love one) and I still think they're fun. Amazing!

I've been going to HIIT Lab since Cathy (owner) opened her studio. This team and workout, by far, surpasses any experience I've had elsewhere. And I've seen the positive results since going - I'm mentally and physically stronger, as well as leaner / toned. The space is just right for the number of clients. Cathy and her team genuinely care and welcome feedback on their workouts. Cathy keeps each workout fresh and new, so you're never bored and always surprised. The music is motivating and while the workout is always a challenge, the experience is never judgmental or competitive. She releases events and challenges, though they are typically tied to partnership or giving, which is an added benefit to working out here. This gym filled a void in west Seattle for a place to do HIIT group workouts in a positive and motivating environment! From day one, the coaches made an effort to get to know each person who enters the door. The workouts are fun and never the same and take any think-work out of your daily routine. The coaches will hold you accountable and encourage you in a friendly and safe (form-first) manner. For years I thought I was in-shape but I was just going through the motions until I joined HIIT lab and felt myself getting stronger with more energy than ever before. After living in West Seattle for years, I am so thrilled HIIT Lab has joined the neighborhood. West Seattle was very much lacking an alternative to the large box gyms. HIIT is not only a GREAT workout, but the instructors are incredible. The classes are 1/2 cardio (on treadmills or bikes) and 1/2 weight/resistance training using a mix of body weight, TRX, and kettle bells. The 60 minute workouts are different every single day.

At other gyms I've seen instructors rush through explaining exercises and not bother to pay attention or correct poor form. This is never the case at HIIT - not only are the instructors well experienced, but they make sure to explain each exercise throughly to ensure everyone is working out safely. And because the classes are small (no more than 20 people per class), the instructors are able to pay attention to every person and offer corrections and encouragement to each individual.

I've spent years taking group classes at big box gyms, and I've worked with personal trainers in the past. I can honestly say this is the closest you'll come to having your own personal trainer while in a small group environment. Try out HIIT and support this awesome local business!

This is the place to go for the most efficient 60 minute workout you can get. You get stretching, core work, cardio and strength training all in a jam packed hour! The coaches are all skiled and do an amazing job making sure your are doing exercises correctly. They also are super supportive and challenge you just enough to crush it on the treads and on floor sets! HIIT Lab also offers yoga and mobility classes to round out array of training options.

HARD workout, highly varied between cardio, lifting and core. Nicest treads ever with this spongy rebounding texture. Instruction is excellent - tough but tinged with a small bit of humor. Like that they added some late afternoon classes for a work escape. Spent some money on some extra touches like a water bottle filler and USB phone jacks for every locker. I think it's try before you buy for $15 for one week - recommend!
