I’ve been coming here for a little over two years now, and I absolutely love it. Each instructor has their own unique style, which keeps every class fresh and challenging.
The studio is spacious, always clean, and has such a welcoming vibe. Everyone from the staff to the members is friendly and encouraging. Easily my favorite place to reset and recharge.

Where to begin...
Probably with community. HYR hosts some pretty amazing Yogis who come through the doors to practice week by week who bring a positive demeanor and neighborly bantor that tends to lessen any tension or competitve feel that some studios have. Additionally, the schedule holds a star studded group of instructors who all come ready to teach. They all bring in a different type of wisdom and insight into their classes that makes it so much more than a physical practice.
The studio is clean, tidy, and professionally ran. The parking is easy and most often open. The heat of the room is attractive and helps to ease the stress of whatever life is throwing your way.
I have I've felt honored to practice here since I began, and hope for many more classes to keep learning!

I have never done a yoga class in my life. What an experience!! I have so much room for improvement but did not feel intimidated or embarrassed. The instructor Laurel was so helpful and positive through the whole 90 minute class. I'm pushing 60 and I can see how this would benefit my overall flexibility and balance. I will definitely be back!!

I went to Hot Yoga Renton for about 8 months and tried a few different disciplines including vinyasa, hatha, and traditional hatha. The studio is large and spacious and has a large yogi community. The quality of teaching and price point for classes can’t be beat. They even have free parking (a rare treat!). A couple of nominal charging mishaps happened over the 8 months that ultimately ended up showing how attentive, friendly, and timely the studio is in addressing customer concerns. While the studio and community undoubtedly earn five stars, I found it challenging to see a sliver of myself in the front mirrors and always practiced with a craving for more external heat/humidity (though admittedly, practicing yoga has nothing to do with mirrors and heat). At times this could be circumvented/helped by getting to class earlier for a front row spot or bringing more tapas to my practice. But I still often craved a hotter environment, with more mirror space. Despite my personal taste for traditional hot yoga classes (the studio offers many other class types!), the studio is gem that shouldn’t be missed.

Definitely the most affordable option for hot yoga in Seattle that I’ve found, and the staff are always very friendly. Solid class times and variety, too. The room is kept hot enough to bring a good sweat, but not so hot that vertigo sets in — you can still breathe! Cons: The clientele is by and large the most standoffish I’ve experienced in Seattle studios; wont make room on the floor or smile / say hi, zero acknowledgement before, during, or after class, but will then passive aggressively police you in the bathroom/showers for small things?… it’s pretty wild even by PNW standards. I’ve received this behavior and witnessed it many times. Also the bathrooms are far from trans friendly (we’re used to being divided into
women and men, but “ladies” on everything??), sooo I usually shower at home. but alas, still giving four stars because I have a soft spot for this place!

Have being going to Hot Yoga Renton for a year now and I find this studio very welcoming with skilled instructors and a supportive community. The heated classes are intense yet grounding, offering a great mix of Hatha, Vinyasa, and 26/2 styles. The studio is clean and inclusive, with thoughtful amenities and fair pricing. Every session leaves you feeling refreshed, stronger, and more centered.

I’ve been practicing at Hot Yoga Renton for nearly a decade, and I can honestly say this studio has saved my life in ways I’ve never shared.
The teachers, especially Lorenzo, Cecilia, and Deborah (and previous others) have been absolutely foundational to my learning. Their guidance is both inspirational and practical, always emphasizing safety, efficiency of movement, and true strength and alignment—not just for show. Thanks to their teaching, I’ve learned how to practice yoga in a way that supports my body and mind, both in and out of the studio.
What sets Hot Yoga Renton apart is the quality of instruction and the space. I practice yoga everywhere I go, but it all started here, and this place will always feel like home. If you’re looking for a studio that prioritizes your well-being and helps you build a sustainable, lifelong practice, I can’t recommend Hot Yoga Renton enough.

A yoga studio for every body. This yoga studio is welcoming to everyone new and experienced. The heat can be intense, but with the intro packages and annual deals you'll get time to acclimate to the heat and improve your practice. I've taken classes with every teacher and the community is great. HYR is wonderful.

Hot Yoga Renton is a great facility, community, and team of instructors. They offer traditional 26 pose 60, 75 and 90 minutes, in addition to other styles. If you are looking for trad60, Lorenzo’s Friday happy hour is the place to be. He leads a friendly and lively class. If you are looking to refine skills and challenge yourself, take Laurel’s 90 min on Monday. I still always learn something new. There are many great instructors at this location and, though it can sometimes be packed, there are often days where you have plenty of elbow room. Highly recommend!

This place is so much bigger than I was expecting! The studio is aesthetic with a pleasant 2nd story view of dt renton. Recommended bring your own mat/mat towel but they have rentals. The mens locker room has a narrow/odd lay out but there are ample showers which is great and a must have for me after a sweaty yoga class. I found the teacher and general community to be welcoming in my one session so far.

Love this yoga studio! The room is nice and spacious, instructors are always friendly and willing to help with positioning. The atmosphere is always tranquil and the temperature is always perfect. They offer several classes so you can find one that fits best for your skill level. They also offer meditation and sound bath from time to time. If you don’t have the proper equipment you can rent items such as mats, towels, and purchase items such as water, snacks, or yoga accessories. It would have 5 stars but the parking isn’t the best.
Updated to 5 stars parking has improved 😊

Been practicing yoga near my home for a little over a year and a half. Started it due to a recommendation from a friend whose life has proven to be brutal to his body as mine has to me. I was coming out of fighting a particularly nasty battle with cancer and its related surgeries and treatments. Shortly before that battle I was struck in the head by the mast of a reach lift while unloading a rebar truck, 3 months before that a shoring main beam fell from a little over 8’ above and struck me in the head directly and drove me to the ground. These are injuries of the last few years. Doesn’t begin to scratch the surface of the previous 20 years of either jumping outta planes and other squirrelly body punishing military shenanigans ending with being struck by a vehicle on a 55mph road resulting in brain surgery and a long road to normalcy, a life of construction doing everything the hard way as is my nature with numerous injuries including broken vertebrae, torn this and ruptured that… I don’t bring this up to whine or get the look at me bologna. I say it for the folks out there who think yoga isn’t for you or you’re to hurt or my hips won’t do that, any of the things we tell ourselves to stop our sometimes painful, sometimes overwhelming but always worth it; progress to a better wellbeing.
That being said I began Hatha at this studio a few weeks ago. I’ve only done vinyasa and yin yogas till that point. Hatha has touched my heart; mind, soul and body in a way I hadn’t known possible. The instructors, I’ve experienced at least 5 now in the few weeks I’ve been going and they’re all excellent in their own way. I do have to credit Darcy for my first class and breaking me in half. Not just physically but in all the ways I needed. It’s an absolute beautiful practice. So if you’re looking for a form of yoga that will humble you where you need and build you where you need and if you like a regimented and disciplined practice where the physicality, breath work and meditative qualities can be honed and appreciated. Hatha yoga is worth your time.
I have to say that yoga is what you put into it. I push hard, you don’t have to. We all need to listen to our bodies and appreciate what they speak and feel back to us. So please don’t think by my words that it’s all punishment or all hard. I’m a fella who learns those ways and has lived those ways so I appreciate things in that way. Yoga in general is beautiful and humbling whether you’re 15lbs lighter at the end of class due to sweat loss or not. I’ve just recently found Hatha to be incredibly beautiful and beneficial. Enough to drive an hour and half each way to attend morning classes. This is a great studio with all the amenities and so far some incredible teachers.
Thank you folks so very much

Was really annoyed trying to find this studio… it’s located in downtown Renton with one-way roads and you have to walk around to the back of the building to enter… then take the elevator or stairs to the second floor. Got there right on time but they locked the door before start time. Truly a waste of time.

Sound Bath with Adam - what an incredible evening. And a totally different experience than any other sound bath I've gone to (California, Hawaii, ... )The different musical instruments, the mantras, ... it was all spectacular. And he stayed on to answer questions about the gongs, 'ocean sounds', ... the guitar at the end - really special. Highly recommend and would absolutely attend another Sound Bath led by Adam.

From my experience, this is the bar I will hold all other yoga studios to.
Great location, great room, great vibes, great coaches. Good price.
I’d like to specifically shout out Thangs classes as well - a perfect balance of great cue-ing, challenging/new, and the meditative/mindfulness.
Only changes I’d want would be the class times - would’ve loved to see a 7:30 am and the 3pm was removed for the summer.

My wife suggested I start doing hot yoga again post Covid pandemic, so I signed up for a month of classes at Hot Yoga Renton. I have been to other hot yoga studios much closer to me, but this studio provides the best aspects of a hot yoga studio. This studio is large so you can accommodate a bunch of people without having a mat/person too close to you. They keep the studio consistently at that perfect temperature, doesn’t matter who the instructor is. You have six to seven classes daily to choose from starting from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. The instructors are unsurpassed….they are genuinely super friendly and very experienced. They are very supportive and helpful…doesn’t matter your skill level, experience or age. Believe me…I am the older dude that likes the back of the room away from the mirrors, but the instructors makes me feel right at home. Hot Yoga Renton also has showers that most studios don’t. They are very clean and provide soap/shampoo…you will need to bring your own towel. My wife and I decided to sign up for a year of classes after our first month was up. If you want to sweat and strengthen those muscles up…I absolutely suggest you try hot yoga.

My one major complaint is in regards to Barbara, who completely ignores HER OWN visual consent system to show if you are okay with adjustments. What is the point of allowing us to choose and consent to if we are okay with adjustments, but then completely ignore whatever was chosen and physically adjust anyways?
Barbara has a green chip system to signify that you are open to being re-adjusted during the practice. During the beginning of class she will state she "will not touch you unless you have a green chip on your mat and will offer verbal adjustments instead". Barbara has also stated "you can slip the chip under your mat anytime during class, if you no longer want to be touched." I have gone to a couple of her classes, and noticed that she will physically adjust you without asking for consent, even when you do not have a green chip on your mat. It is not a one time thing, nor is it specific to anyone. I have seen her do it at every single class I have attended with her, and I have seen her do it to others who did not have a green chip on their mat and did not consent to adjustments. It’s extremely violating to me, and probably many others in the class who do not have a green chip on their mat to be touched with no warning at all. It’s upsetting that Barbara obviously has a system that she instilled for her classes, but in so many classes, it doesn’t matter what you pick because YOU WILL BE ADJUSTED even if you did not consent to it.
It rubs me the wrong way, and I have felt completely dirty, violated, and upset after her classes. Barbara needs to do better when it comes to following her own system of consent to adjustments, or don’t have a system at all because it’s wrong to just ignore people’s preferences of adjustments.

I enjoyed coming to this studio for my first two hot yoga experiences so much, that I purchased a punch card of 15-20 classes. Fast forward to the pandemic and they refuse to let me attend class without proof of vax status. I requested a refund from the owner well over three times now and she just keeps refusing or ignoring my requests. So, for over two years, I can’t attend and I can’t get my money back for over half of my prepaid class passes. I find this policy incredibly an overstep of boundaries and dishonest. Small businesses do have the right to make their own policies, but when you take someone’s money and then refuse them service for a policy you just put in place two years later and refuse them a refund, that’s dirty and greedy business practice. Stipulations should have been stated at the time of sale and for this reason, I don’t recommend this judgmental studio to anyone.

Great, calming class space. Instructors are fantastic and become familiar with you as your visits increase (very welcoming). The class size is large and the facilities are clean. I enjoy Cecila's Hatha/ Traditional 26/2 so far and look forward to trying the variety of other classes.

Very personable. Challenges those with lots of experience, yet precision and direction for newbies. Pay as you go, or purchase cheaper 10 or 20 class packages, and great bonus: they don’t expire!! Gotta be on time. Training for physical strength, flexibility, balance & mental attitude. I didn’t think much of yoga before getting into it with hot yoga; >10 yrs, 1-3 X wk. Enhances me to do many activities at age 60-+.

It was my first class back in well over a year. It was exactly what I needed to escape life’s crazy over-drive mode I’ve been in. Deborah was amazing in getting me to be in the now and focus on what I was doing that very moment - breathing. Slowly my stresses melted away. I love hot yoga and I’m glad to be back!

Wonderful people - instructors are great, good classes, peaceful environment. It has remained a consistency in my life through very busy times when I've hod to drop other activities.
The parking lot is a headache. The use of it by the bar attendees next door sometimes makes getting entrance to the lot a challenge, along with their use of it taking up valuable parking spaces. It helps to get to class in plenty of time in order to deal with the parking lot issues.

I have been going to this yoga studio for several years. It has a great location with lots of good parking. It is clean and bright and doesn’t smell bad (like some studios I’ve been to). The instructors are very knowledgeable and observant to make sure you have the best form to prevent injuries. They also often have good deals on classes to help make it more affordable.

I turned 64 this year I’ve been attending Hot Yoga Renton six years now. I find it difficult to give a review using just a few words since I could do a short story with all the positive experiences I’ve had since starting my yoga practice. First I wish to say I am so grateful to Annette founder and owner, for establishing this studio. I would have to mention some features about the studio itself clean, well lighted and heated(it is after all hot yoga). A welcoming lobby, the practice room is roomy, rubber floor finish, mirrors on three walls to check your posture. There are separate changing rooms with bathroom and showers. Exceptional instructors knowledgeable in diverse yoga practices. It is my fortune I live so close. I do my practice two sometimes three days a week now for six years. I feel stronger and rejuvenated. I feel more physically, mentally, emotionally, (and dare use the term spiritually)balanced and in alignment much to the credit of the instructors. When I first started I had constant chronic pain and very restricted range of motion and now I’m almost normal range of motion and my pain is negligible to none most days. And I never regretted attending a class!

This was my first time doing yoga and hot yoga at that! The staff was very helpful in telling us what to expect & giving us all the info to get started. Then the teacher was so very attentive, even remembering our names during the class when she would give us tips on how to do the poses! I absolutely loved the class and will definitely will be coming back!

Awesome teachers!! The place is warm (literally) and welcoming with friendly and helpful instructors. I just started yoga on Jan 2018 for the first time ever and loved every class. All instructors have different teaching styles but all have the same goal and that is to motivate and challenge YOU. "If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you." <3 <3

I started here in February and I have been hooked ever since.
1. Facilities- Clean, spacious, and well maintained.
Ample parking around the building and on the street.
Lobby display is inviting and plenty of room for check in.
Studio room is huge with mirrors on 2 sides. Room temperature is kept hot at a level that is still manageable and won't make you feel like dying.
Men's locker room has a big shower space and is always clean.
2. Class Schedule - So many offerings to fit different schedules you really need to find an excuse to miss a class. Website offers a great interactive scheduling system so you can see the class, instructor, time, and you can sign up on the spot.
3.Teachers - I am a retired martial arts instructor so I am pretty picky when it comes to teachers, coaches, and instructors. All of the teachers here are very competent and excellent at what they do.
Learning something new and different for your body can be very intimidating, especially YOGA. Each of the teachers I have had the pleasure of taking class from have been very welcoming since I have stepped through their doors.
A sign of a great teacher is being able to articulate movement and body positioning to students of all different skill levels. Each of the teachers here do that and it has really helped with my development.
All of the teachers are unique in their own way but they all have the same passion for YOGA and teaching it to others. I am so grateful for all of them since they have each taught me something different and continue to teach me something new each class I attend.
Thank you: Cecilia, Janell, Laurel, Nicole, Debra, and Jessica! Please forgive me if I forgot someone :)

Very welcoming yoga experience. Instructors friendly and helpful. I have always felt so good physically and mentally after a practice. Workshops are offered periodically. Jessica will take the time to help refine a pose which I really appreciate. Sometimes it's difficult to see and feel what it is that needs adjustments.

This yoga studio is the best. Instructors are all excellent, nice variety of class types, lovely top floor location with lots of natural light from the back windows. Yes, IT'S HOT but the temperature is consistent. A big plus compared to other hot studios I've practiced at. Great place to grow with a diverse group of yogis at all levels.

Great facility, clean and welcoming. All instructors are well trained and helpful which was great for this newcomer and new to hot yoga. One instructor gets a little over the top if you don’t do what the whole class does which comes off as scolding but she’s excellent in every other way so I’m trying to learn to ignore the scolding. Love this studio and I travel a lot and have seen all kinds.

I never did yoga in my live. I'm beginner, have lot to learn. I did only 5 classes so far. I LOVE IT. Very friendly place, extremely friendly instructors. I'm so please from first day I have walked in. Jessica was behind the counter who help me sign up, explained the rules and also teach my first class. I felt very comfortable like I know her for a long time. The other instructors are also nice. They all have so much knowledge, I can't wait for another class to take. I'm so excited. Thank you.

Have been to three sessions so far on my Groupon discount month and have found staff to be very friendly and encouraging. At the beginning of each class the instructor acknowledges awareness of any new or beginning students and customizes the instruction accordingly. My wife had been going for several months so was able to provide my orientation, but new students would do well to visit with staff on phone or in person in advance. Participants are encouraged to take breaks as needed and only progress to their level of comfort. Very nice facility. Will likely extend my package at the end of the month.

Thank you to all the Hot Yoga Renton team for being here for us. I've been able to make positive changes to the physical and mental aspects of my daily life. For me, Yoga is not an easy task but I feel a connection to self as I work through the class. I look forward to my next class in anticipation of possibly completing a pose I didn't complete in my prior class.
If there's one recommendation, it would be to add the Saturday sculpt class with Janelle during the week too. Her class has helped me build strength to move through the regular yoga class. Kudos to Janelle for her time and energy!!
One big negative is the scent of the studio. The negative scent is noticeable from the bottom of stairs that lead up to the studio; that can't be good from a hygiene standpoint.

So, let me start by saying that I actually do like the classes here. If you're looking for a more cardio vascular form of yoga that will leave you sweaty and majorly relaxed, you should check it out!
A couple more pros: they sometimes sell fresh coconuts for $5 each after class (soooo good!) and occasionally distribute cool cloths soaked in lemongrass water after class (amazing).
Bonus for you if you've never been: they have a new student price of $39 for a whole month! Aaaaaaaand that's a whole $100 less than returning students pay. Which brings me to one of my negative points: This place is crazy expensive. $134 a month for yoga!?! You've got to be kidding me. As nice as the classes are, they aren't THAT good. They even restrict their Groupons to new students only- not a good way to foster client loyalty.
Another reason I'm unwilling to pay that price: the studio is not particularly clean. I get that there are sweaty people wandering about all the time, and they have a bunch of classes back-to-back (another pro) but there is mildew and hair all over the women's showers... and just no. Yuck.
Hence my would-be 5 star review dropping to 3.

It was my second time in the studio last night, Monday 8/8/16, for 8:30p class. I was running right on time for class. When I tried to enter, a person very rudely told me I needed to take off my shoes. There are no signs, nor did any one give me a tour of the studio my first time in (the previous day) or talk about studio policies or practices. Rather than disarming the situation, the instructor chimed in with a similar manner.
Then in class, there was very little demonstration. I have taken years of Vinyasa flow style yoga, but this slower method is newer to me. Besides not being able to clear my mind from the way I was "greeted," I also felt I had very little guidance in class. I ended up getting so frustrated that I just left early, and I now regret purchasing a 30 day unlimited groupon to check out the studio.

Love this place but the clientele has really gone down hill.
This is to the dude that chooses to wear speedos during class: the teachers are too nice and wont say anything so I will....learn some yoga etiquette; stop flailing around, drinking water, and fidgeting when other people around you are trying to balance and do the poses. When the teacher instructs you to lay still, lay still. If you feel the need to leave the room don't come back in when everyone is trying to balance. Seriously the speedos though...they are the least of my concern.
This all would seem like common sense but apparently you just aren't getting it.

I purchased an unlimited month and loved it.
The studio smells of eucalyptus, it's clean, spacious, and the staff is very helpful. Instructors are patient and they do well to assist nubies like myself in correcting posture and breathing.
There is a parking lot right outside the building and the doors are locked right when class starts.
I would definitely recommend it.
