I am not a resident of Bellingham (or WA) unfortunately so I cannot be a member of this fabulous studio, but I did get to attend a class last week. The instructor, Beverly, was amazing. She is knowledgeable and thorough, but even better teaches very functional exercises that are essential for old ladies like me. She is fun and motivating. Ella, the owner, is incredibly thoughtful and does an unbelievable job of running a studio that offers so much to so many! Can't wait to go back!

This studio community is so inviting. The instructors are knowledgable and well trained. Every class I have gone to the instructors help me with form that fit my abilities. My strength has improved so much I can enjoy being active again. Every age, shape and gender are welcome to this studio.

Love the range of classes, the instructors, and the kind and welcoming students. From relaxing classes working on alignment and flexibility to challenging sweat-fests, there's something for everyone. Have been going here for 2 years and haven't gotten bored!

I love this fitness gym. All the teachers are focused on great exercises and form and an enjoyable experience as we each get stronger and more stable in our bodies and our lives. The owner, Ella, is a treat beyond compare. She is a compassionate, wonderful individual.

I am returning to full body exercise after some years of doing mainly aerobic exercise. I haven't done pilates before so wasn't sure about it. There are so many different types of classes that you can find something you like. I've moved up slowly at my own pace because I've found I have 2-3 issue areas that are weaker as compared to the rest of my body - (thank you to the club). Instructor's are knowledgeable & the club vibe is friendly!

This is an excellent studio. They have ample reformers, fantastic staff, and other classes to get you moving as well. Our Pilates instructor was brilliant, explained everything carefully and really knows the muscles of the human body. I tried Pilates in Los Angeles and my experience was mediocre. Joy of Pilates & Fitness is a gem and a great find in Bellingham.

This is a wonderful pilates studio. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. All the instructors take the time to ask about injuries and make frequent adjustments and corrections to make sure you have great form. I love coming here and am grateful I have found a way to exercise that doesn't cause me frequent injuries. I have taken classes and private lessons from Ella, Patty, Matt, and Lesley and they are all AMAZING! This studio is a local gem.

Joy of Pilates is my home away from home! Usually gyms and work out studios are so bare or sterile. This place is just so stinkin’ cute! And it’s great how the owner greets you and remembers your name and needs. During one of the classes she slipped over to over me a pillow, which really helped with the particular move we were doing. Fun place and fun people. Thanks JOP!

Joy of Pilates offers a wide variety of fitness classes with instructors who specialize in their fitness area. The space is spacious and clean with top-notch equipment. My friends and I received a warm and friendly greeting from the owner Ella. I was pleasantly surprised to find a familiar face working there. I’ve known Patty V. for many years and know she has years of experience and knowledge in adjusting exercises to accommodate people with physical limitations. She also has a keen eye to make sure her clients are challenged and safely doing exercises. Thank you Patty for introducing me to the reformer! As a Physical Therapist, I would highly recommend Joy of Pilates to anyone looking for a fun, friendly environment, with staff that will know how to challenge you safely.

After 5 years at a studio in Seattle, I was concerned I wouldn’t find the same experience in Bellingham. I was wrong. Joy of Pilates is my joy. I attend 3 to 4 times per week. I absolutely love my instructors. I love the atmosphere, the motivation like monthly contests, the acts of kindness and generosity to the community. I especially love the owner, Ella. She is the heart of Joy of Pilates and truly inspiring!

I've been attending classes at Joy of Pilates for over a year now, and I am amazed at how strong I've become! I'm a downhill skier and this past winter I skied for three hours on my first ski day of the season before my thighs even started complaining! Usually on the first day of skiing my thighs are screaming after the first run! I attend reformer classes twice a week and occasionally take mat and TRX classes. Sometimes I also take Zoom classes. I love the in-studio classes the best! I love the reformer! I love all the instructors! I think of it as "Kindergym" because we use so many fun props (toys!) and the classes go by so quickly. I'm 63 years old and I can honestly say I am stronger now that I have ever been in my life! My balance has improved and I feel like Joy of Pilates just makes my life more beautiful. The owner Ella is a gem, and she knows how to attract and keep quality teachers!

I love this studio!! The teachers are top-notch and the owner, Ella, is a really nice person. I didn’t know what Pilates was when I started last year- a friend gifted me a class. There are classes at all different levels and I felt really cared for when I started and didn’t know how to do anything. The teachers and Ella were so kind and supportive. I’ve seen big changes in my body-I’m firmer all over and stronger. I can lift a 40# bag of birdseed like it’s nothing. And I was delightfully surprised when I wore high heels to dinner ( before COVID) and it was easy to walk in them because my ankles are so freakin’ strong! The best part has been that my first day of downhill skiing was easy because my thighs and my core were already so strong from Pilates. I've been coming here for over 4 months now and I can't say enough good things about my experience! They are friendly, knowledgable, supportive and encouraging. EVERY class seems different and they really focus on correct form and class members' individual needs. I feel great! Although the instructors are all different, they ALL have a considerable knowledge base and are super helpful with suggesting alternatives if you have an injury or limitation. They have classes when I want them (including weekends) and I'm always excited to go. Added bonus, the studio is immaculate. Thank you Ella and your spectacular team!

Fabulous studio! The staff is very warm, kind and knowledgeable. I was new to Pilates when I joined about 6 months ago, and I felt very supported and comfortable right from the start! Not only are the classes challenging and rewarding, but the instructors are so kind and caring. Such a wonderful atmosphere at Joy! My favorite class is Arms, Abs, & Assets- you feel the burn the following couple of days after the class. I love taking their classes with others in the community!

I have been a member for over a year at this studio. I attended classes at the other Joy studios as well. If there is anything I want to say it's that each instructor is attentive to the needs of each class participant. They make the classes fun and intimate. They are diligent in ensuring that each class member is afforded the best possible experience. Joy of Pilates is absolutely the best!!!

This is a great studio. The staff are great to work with and strive to help you reach your goals. If your even a little interested in a fitness program and don't want to get a gym membership, try Pilates. It's even good to add to your daily fitness routine. They have a free intro class usually. I highly recommend.
