About the Club

At Kulshan CrossFit our favorite philosophy is to train for life! We prepare our bodies and our minds for everything, all of the time! From power and strength to strong muscles. We train our bodies to be able to meet life demands and achieve our goals, whether it’s performing simple daily tasks, completing your first half marathon, or doing 25 consecutive pull-ups! We focus on attainable, yet challenging goals to keep us motivated, and excited about working out and eating clean! Whether your goals are athletic or aesthetic, CrossFit and its methodologies are the conduit to achieving them. Our class sizes are small so we can focus on each individual’s skill level, personal goals, technique, and most importantly – safety!

I dropped in to Kulshan CrossFit during quarterfinals because I was on a family vacation to Bellingham and needed a gym to complete the workouts. Oddly enough, my home gym owner knew some folks at Kulshan CrossFit and got me in contact with Colby, the gym owner. He was so helpful in coordinating some times to come in and do the workouts since it isn’t your typical class drop in. I went to the gym and met Ashley, who was coaching the 8:30am class and was extremely accommodating and even cheered me on while I was off to the side just trying to complete the quarterfinals workouts so I could enjoy my vacation. She offered up some tips to help me on my power cleans which I really appreciated. Furthermore, she went as far as offering to show me some breakfast spots around Bellingham as she found me outside trying to search for a nearby cafe! I gladly accepted her offer and she gave me a ride to the Bagelry and gave me a quick overview of the city as it was my second time there. This experience at Kulshan is why I love CrossFit. They truly went out of their way to make me feel comfortable in their space and I got such a great sense of community at Kulshan. Ashley even offered to let me play whatever music I wanted during my workout so I wouldn’t have to wear headphones! It really made me feel included and I feel like I have a gym away from home to come to when I come back to Bellingham! I would highly recommend checking this place out!

Dropped in and felt like part of the tribe instantly! Mary Beth did an incredible job getting us mentally and physically ready for the WOD with tons of good scaling options along with efficiency and skill tips. My work requires a ton of travel so I drop into about 25 different CrossFit gyms a year, Kulshan Athletics is one of the best I’ve experienced in the country. If you’re in Bellingham consider yourself lucky to have this gem!!

To say I found the perfect gym would be a slight to what I have found at Kulshan CrossFit. When I first walked in, I felt I didn’t belong and was hesitant to stay. Walking into a room of sweaty athletes will do that to you! Especially when the last time I went for a “run” I was so winded that I decided running was for other people. I left that Tuesday 6:30pm introductory session taught by Coach Melanie, with an unlimited membership and a sense of dread of things to come. But, I was also inspired to see what was possible.
Two months later, after following the excellent coaching advice of Kacie, Kelsey, Melanie, Reba and Emily, I have learned to sweat, lost over 15lbs, gained strength and confidence, stand with better posture and am no longer fearful to jog around the block.
I still wouldn’t consider myself an athlete, but I do consider myself fortunate to have found such a positive community to participate in. It just so happens that Kulshan CrossFit is a community of strong, conditioned and beyond considerate people.

This is a simple unpretentious place, but oh so rich with warm and exciting people. Both coaches and members. They are genuinely excited to have you and they want the best for you. I'm so far out of shape it's not funny, so I signed on go work with a personal trainer to get back in somewhat shape. JT has been amazing this whole. Patient, encouraging, keeps me focused and in task. Not once have I felt uncomfortable. If you want to feel like you are working out with friends and family... and still get a strong workout... I highly recommend this place.

I would highly recommend Kulshan Crossfit. They have an outstanding facility with amazing staff. The owner is super friendly and the facility is great. They are very encouraging and help you push your fitness to the next level. I was visiting from Canada and they were happy to accomodate my drop in and made me feel like parrt of the team. Kulshan Crossfit is the best thing that has ever happened to me! When I finally came to terms with the fact that I needed a lifestyle change ( needed to workout & get healthy) I asked a co- worker of mine Samantha Parks what she did knowing she worked out and looked great for having 3 kids! She told me Kulshan Crossfit ! She told me over and over how great the place was and convinced me to take a beginner class so I did and I won't lie it was hard but so worth it! I hadn't felt that good about myself in years I was so happy and proud of myself! I signed up that night and have been going ever since and I can see the results alteady! Every one there including the coaches are wonderful! So supportive ,kind , and patient! They never treat you like your less than or not as good everyone is a equal at this gym and cheer each other on. They have helped me believe that I can truly do anything I put my mind to ! I met Kacie randomly over the summer while I was jogging on the track at Western Washington University. Not only was she really approachable, but she seemed very energetic and excited to accept me into her workout group, which was what made me come back the next week. And I haven’t left since! In the past two years of training, I’ve not only lost 40 pounds but I have ran 3 half marathons, multiple 5ks and have even competed in a CrossFit competition! Family and friends can tell the difference in my physique, energy, and dedication. Overall, I owe this to Kacie. I show up to her gym to work out, but she pushes me so much harder than I would ever go on my own. It’s that coaching and compassion that has really motivated me to change my lifestyle, and now I have even more motivation seeing that my body is toning up and slimming down. Kacie knows all the rules, tricks, and tips about exercise and nutrition, and I would highly recommend Kulshan CrossFit for anyone looking to begin a new lifestyle! Thanks, Kacie!

I first met Kacie at her free Wednesday night workouts. She is a wonderful coach and pushes me to workout in ways I would never do so otherwise. Bumpees, Pushups, Sprints, Stair Climbing, ect. The workout goes by in a blink.

She is a wonderful coach so i figured I would try her crossfit class out. Turns out it is amazing and I would recommend it to anyone.

At first I was nervous to try the other coaches but they are all great. Zach especially is wonderful and has great sense of humor and made me feel very comfortable as a new crossfitter.

The biggest worry i had joining her gym was that i would feel too much pressure to push myself and get hurt, but that was never the case. it is a great place with wonderful people.

Kulshan CrossFit is AWESOME.

Before I started, I'd been looking around at various CrossFit places in the Bellingham area, having no idea which one to try out or what I was getting myself into.

Kulshan offers a FREE intro class, which I jumped at right away. Kacie was the trainer for that first class and explained everything to me, making me feel comfortable and excited about exercising. All the trainers at Kulshan are extremely motivating and encouraging. Not once did I feel like I was in over my head. You are able to go at your own pace (though encouraged to push the boundaries!) and everyone there is friendly and has a great attitude.

If you're looking for a new CrossFit gym, or looking to try it out for the first time, I highly encourage you to check this place out. Great atmosphere, great trainers, great results.

I was staying in Bellingham with work and dropped in for a session with the guys at Crossfit Kulshan. They could not have been more welcoming and I felt immediately part of their little community. If 'Hard Work' and 'Inspiration' met and had a baby -- it would be named Kulshan CrossFit. Kulshan is a place where goals (you didn't know you have) are set (and smashed!) on the daily; a place where every trainer and member you meet is supportive and friendly, but ready to sweat like no tomorrow; a place that encourages healthy lifestyles outside the gym; a place where you learn proper form, balance, and mobility; and most importantly -- a place where I have become a healthier, happier, and way more confident version of myself! Let me start by saying that I was freakin scared out of MAH MIND to start any kind of fitness routine, and certainly didn't feel ready for crossfit. But Kulshan Crossfit is a completely new and life altering experience. All of the trainers are SUPER knowledgable regarding fitness, nutrition, how to prevent injuries and just being generally awesome in life. (Not to mention they are all really hot.)

After one week, my body was already starting to change. Every day is a new challenge and the environment is so positive that I can't leave without a smile on my face.

For anyone who thinks they are beyond the point where they could start something like this, think again. You actually CAN do it. They are great at tailoring the workouts to meet your needs and attain your goals. And this place will actually change your life and make you a happier person. Guaranteed.

Come here. Please. There is really no excuse not to do this for yourself. You deserve it. I believe in you and so does Kulshan Crossfit!
