It is a newer facility with a surplus of bicycles, ellipticals and treadmills, a more limited number of weight machines, a few rowing machines, a swimming pool, jacuzzi, handball and basketball courts, and a gym where exercise classes were held. Most of the equipment was in good working order.
The men's sauna temperature was mostly between 155 and 165 F according to wall mounted thermometers, although the entrance sign advertised 180 F. I had interesting conversations during my daily visit.
The salesperson introducing me to my 2-week free trial did not know how to use any of the equipment, unfortunately, so I fumbled thru on my own. There is a definite need for improvement here.

Jesus was a superstar at helping my girlfriend get setup with a guest pass. This was also my first time at this LA Location and I was already super impressed with the size and staff compared to the Everett location. Went from 3-4pm and the crowd was manageable with the amount of equipment this location has. Will definitely be visiting this location more often when I’m in the area!

⚠️ Warning about unauthorized charges!
Be careful — LA Fitness in Lynnwood charged my credit card for Pilates classes I never signed up for, for three consecutive months.
When I disputed the charges, they said they wouldn’t refund the previous payments and would only stop charging from the date I noticed the issue.
There is no proper customer service or accountability system, and they do not offer any real assistance. It feels like some unauthorized or careless internal practices are happening there.
Very disappointing experience.

Slooooooowly, and if you need to change something in your account, you will need to wait about 1 hour, and it may not be effective in the end.
Some managers just wanna to sell your membership and then do nothing to help you.

I signed up for a membership at the beginning of October and in just four weeks have been able to reach my initial fitness goals! I'm in love with reformer pilates, and appreciate how easy it is to just add in a bit of cardio and strength training after a class now that I'm getting stronger. I find myself looking forward to going to the gym, especially pilates classes, which I never expected. The friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and teachers, beautiful high ceilings, and facilities with everything I need for a good workout, all contribute to this being a place I look forward to coming back to. I went from one workout a week max pre-membership, to working out every other day because I actually find it enjoyable here. I can't remember the last time I've felt this good about my body. The water heaters at the Lynnwood LA Fitness have been down for weeks, and every time you ask, they say it’ll be fixed “in a week.” It’s been the same response for a long time now with no real progress.

There’s clearly a lack of maintenance and accountability from management, and it’s causing a lot of inconvenience for members. With the colder weather setting in, it’s unreasonable that we’re expected to shower in cold water. This issue really needs attention and resolution soon.

Great gym for a decent price.

I use the racquetball courts, strength equipment and cardio equipment, so this review doesn't reflect classes, the pool or jacuzzi, or the sauna, however those are available as well.

With regard to strength and cardio, and adequate to good amount of mixed free weights, plate loaded free weights, plate loaded machines, and selecrorized machines are available for each muscle group, and there are enough treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and stair steppers that I haven't ever had to wait for a machine (with the exception once of a stair stepper, but that was only once and only a couple minutes)

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely Poor Management and Maintenance

This is by far the worst-managed LA Fitness I’ve ever been to. There’s been no hot water for almost four weeks, and it’s still not fixed,just a “Sorry” sign at the door every day. When you ask the staff when it’ll be resolved, they just say “we’re working on it,” yet this is something that should be fixed the same day with proper management.

The showers are filthy, paper towel dispensers often don’t work, and many machines are broken. It’s clear that management doesn’t prioritize member experience or facility upkeep.

The only thing this location seems efficient at is charging your card every month, not maintaining the gym or providing basic amenities.

Members deserve better! We should all speak up and demand accountability for this kind of neglect. What a shame for a brand like LA Fitness.

I had a really negative experience while trying to redeem a trial day pass to try out this gym. The sales guy that helped me was initally super nice showed me around but then told me I would have to buy a full membership if I wanted to work out today. I told him that I had scheduled for just a trail day pass as I was still shopping around. He said since I had a previous membership at LA fitness (5 years ago) I wouldn't be able to redeem a trial day pass.

I mentioned that in the email there was no such clause and that it has been over 5 years, he got really condescending afterwards and said well I'm not going to let you. I picked up on the tone pretty fast and started backing out of the conversation, I was trying to de-escalate the tension and said "Oh no, it's all right maybe I'll try another day, come on a friend's guest pass in the future". He straight up said that I wouldn't be allowed to do that and if he saw me in here on a guest pass he'd kick me out. He said he was the sales manager (this happened in summer 2024).

I don't know what type of power trip this guy is on. A week or two later another sales guy cold-called me, he said I could come in and work out, even if I had been a member in the past. I decided not to even take him up on that offer because of the negative experience I had with the previous guy and the possibility that it was his manager.

Disappointing guest experience.
I signed up for a guest pass to work out with a friend. We arrived at 10:50 a.m., and I was asked to fill out paperwork and wait for a staff member. I waited until 11:10 a.m. with no assistance. I even asked if I could start my workout and come back to finish check-in, but was told to keep waiting. The gym equipment looked good, but the front-desk service was discourteous and inefficient. Staff training and respect for guests need improvement.

My experience with this business has been one of the worst! The (management) of you can call it that might as well be working in call center scamming people because that is what they are doing. I called to cancel my and my wife’s memberships after not using them and the person did not tell me I had to go in to cancel in person, the premium kept being withdrawn. Long story short I cancelled my card that’s when the harassment started 10 to 15 calls per day. When I went in to settle it the scammers at the gym agreed to charge a lower amount to settle the account days later they started charging my credit card multiple times per day until I realized what was going on and reported it to the fraud department. I thought I called a scammer but it was actually la fitness. Save yourself a ton of hassle and pick any other gym.

I feel very disappointed with the service of LA Fitness employees who are not responsible for the loss of goods. At this time I called to ask about my item and one of the employees named Erick said that the item was there and I said I would pick it up on Saturday because I work can only work on Saturday and Erick said okay any time should be if every week there is a cleaning of the lost item to be informed to the customer but this is not so I know it was still there and well stored. Saturday when I came they checked it and it was not there. I’ve been to several LA Fitness locations in several different states from AZ to CA and this one is by far the hottest and most humid. It’s honestly uncomfortable trying to get a good workout in when the air feels thick and there's barely any relief from the heat. Compared to the Everett location—which has newer machines and a much more comfortable, cooler atmosphere—this place just doesn’t measure up.

It’s not hard to turn the heat down a few degrees. This is a gym—people are going to sweat and get hot just from exercising. It should be common sense to keep the temperature lower to support that. The outdated equipment and lack of air circulation just add to the frustration.

I hope management takes this feedback seriously. A simple adjustment to the thermostat would make a huge difference. Until then, I’ll be working out elsewhere.

If you want to cancel your membership, make sure it actually get canceled on the spot if not they will try to keep charging you and won't let you cancel it until amount is paid. Brando will keep tell you to pay him or he ain't canceling the membership even if they are the ones the screwed up . I currently have a gym membership and this was my second time trying to use this gym. I went there instead of my regular one in Everett because it was closer, but only to find out they do not allow members to use InBody scanner over the weekend because their supervisor is only available during weekdays between 9am-5pm. This means members who want to utilize that service cannot do so over the weekend. This was really disappointing. I am not sure why it is there when people can only use during corporate work hours. The management for this locations should review this policy, either they train more people to supervise or adjust the time where the machine is available outside of 9-5.

I like go to the different LA fitness gyms in the Seattle area and I have to say that this is my favorite. It’s great for Leg day. Plenty of squat racks and has unique machines that are not offered at other location (i.e. hip thrust machine). The facility is clean. The wait times are marginal. Over all, the staff is friendly at this location. The reason I gave it 4 stars, not 5, is that one time my lock was broken off my locker and my stuff was stolen. The girl at the front desk was condescending and said: “If” your stuff was stolen… right away another guest came up with the same concern. After that, the location manager came out and was very helpful. My stuff was not recovered and I don’t really think the theft was their fault, but she could have showed a little sympathy.

The gym I friendly in most cases I do my squats in racquet ball court which helps my legs and do the elliptical Matrix works good, I sure like the hot tub, sometimes really hot and good on my shoulders L&I surgery in both Shoulder lots of pain in both and carpal tunnel’s surgery in both wrist 2001 lots of pain, surgery in right shoulder 2012 lat muscle to top of right shoulder failure after surgery and left shoulder rotator cuff surgery I have lots of pain after surgery. The hot tub today was barely warm so it doesn’t do anything to my body like shoulder pain. I’m really disappointed with the Lynnwood La fitness i go there to enjoy sauna, pool, and hot tub I don’t know what’s going on there but past few weeks I went the hot tub is cold that’s so unsanitary and the pool was not warmed it was freezing I couldn’t even do my swims I do I pay a lot for my membership this is ridiculous I go to the mill creek or Kirkland everything works but they are not right by me

It's a nice gym. However, they allow some bad/weird behavior there these days, and there seems to be more and more people acting strangely, hogging equipment and space, and not following just basic gym etiquette. I wish a class was required on gym etiquette as part of membership.

My wife has been in twice to cancel her account and filled out the form both times to "give to the manager to cancel." Continued to try to charge us on a monthly basis and had to go back to my bank to block them since they "wouldn't" let my wife cancel without coming in. We have 2 babies, its inconvenient and she has already done that twice. Called them myself today 10/15 and they said they can cancel it if I pay the outstanding balance. Not a chance. My membership at LA Fitness is mostly so that I can swim laps in their 3 lane pool, as that's my preferred form of exercise. 3 Lanes usually means there are 6 spaces for lap swimming available (2 swimmers to a lane in most places when it gets crowded).

LA Fitness has contracted 1 of their 3 lanes to SwimGurus, so 1 lane (ie 2 lap swim lanes) is almost always closed for a private company to run swimming lessons. This has made it so that it is nearly impossible to reliably come here to lap swim.

Stop saying you have 3 lanes. You have 2. You sold the other one to a private company. Can I have 1/3 of my annual membership fee back?

So frustrating.

This gym one of the nicer gym. I like how clean it is here. I love how there is a lot of leg machines even when I had a broken wrist, it helped redirect workout easier. The front is super nice esp Jonny. Super helpful.

The sanitary wipes stations is always empty, not that hard to do since there are only 3 in the whole gym. They need to centralize one in the middle of the weight room area so people don’t have to walk a mile to get wipes and it might even promote people to wipe off the machines more often after use.

First of all, the gym itself is amazing. It's huge with plenty of equipment (treadmills, stairclimbers, fake grass area for various training, class area, cardio bike room, free weight area, etc), and it's clean. I came to visit Lynnwood from Los Angeles, and I have to say that the LA Fitnesses in WA are better than the ones in LA ironically enough. I came and inquired about a week pass and Jesus was gracious enough to hook me up for free. That was such a kind gesture and a testament to their great customer service. Also, people in Lynnwood are pretty nice compared to LA people. Also, it's something people in Lynnwood probably take for granted but having free parking is so nice. In LA, you're often having to pay for parking. Anyways, in conclusion, this gym is great and so is their staff.

8/11/2024: Wanted to edit the review because they had a nice remodel. The treadmills are all brand new, I really like that there’s a spot for my phone at eye level so I can watch shows while doing cardio! There is always someone cleaning in the locker rooms, and even cleaning the machines now! They really stepped it up with their custodians!

This place is huge! The sauna is almost always working, it seems pretty clean for the most part. One time there was a used tampon in the pool, but that’s not their fault. Haven’t had any issues with people breaking into lockers. Lots of machines available. The pool can get pretty busy with all the lessons and classes they have going on.

If you are looking to use the pool here, look elsewhere. Here are the biggest pain points:

1. Pool and showers are unclean, with globs of who-knows-what both in the water and on the floors. Pictures attached.

2. The other patrons have etiquette issues, and will cough and spit into the pool, cut in front of you when you’re waiting for a lane, or my favorite: Mongolian throat singing! I don’t think everyone is showering first since strong perfume and body odor is a common smell in the pool itself.

3. About the lanes: only two out of three lanes are useable because of 3rd-party children’s swim lessons being taught here. This also means SCREAMING children, boys in the women’s locker room, and a diaper changing table right next to the pool, presumably used after a kid poops themselves in the water.

4. There used to be a sign that said NO MEN IN THE WOMEN’S LOCKER ROOM, to give an idea of how much of a problem it is.

The staff here are friendly, so +1 for that. Although they seem unwilling or unable to fix the above problems. I can’t say much about the rest of the gym, but generally “now hiring for immediate placement!” is a red flag.

I recently canceled my membership and my husbands membership at the LA Fitness in Lynnwood, and I feel compelled to share my disappointing experience. My husband and I were members at the LA Fitness in Seattle for over three years and had great experiences there. However, upon moving to Lynnwood, we encountered numerous issues transferring my husband's membership to the new location.

Despite my husband being a member in Seattle, the Lynnwood staff made it extremely difficult for him to work out. They repeatedly refused him entry because he didn’t have a ID, and at one point, they insisted he sign a waiver before he could work out. The most upsetting incident occurred when the “new” manager, an African-American man with dreadlocks and glasses, yelled at me because my husband entered the gym while I briefly stepped out to the car. He claimed my husband couldn't be inside without me, despite my husband being a paying member at the Seattle location. This confrontation was humiliating, occurring in front of other patrons, and the manager’s behavior was incredibly rude and unprofessional.

In addition to the poor customer service, the Lynnwood facility itself was poorly maintained. The machines were not well taken care of, and the staff had a generally bad attitude.

Ultimately, we decided to cancel our memberships and have since joined a smaller, local gym next door that operates 24 hours and provides a much more welcoming environment. It's sad that we had to leave LA Fitness, but we could not continue at a location that treated us so poorly. I would not recommend the Lynnwood LA Fitness location to anyone. The Seattle location was fantastic, but the Lynnwood management does not care about their clients. My husband is a professional bodybuilder And we train at several different gyms and have never experienced what we experienced at this location it’s really sad because the gym is literally our life if you are an athlete and serious about working out I don’t recommend this location. I really hope they improve the way they treat clients.

Ok, let's start with me being a member for over 20yrs. They remodeled, looks great. Took away the basketball court? The only thing that they had going for them, you know, it does rain. And in it's place some quasi cross fit area that is empty. Great idea? Also, the usual, try to ask the children in the front desk if the LA Fitness on Aurora and 130th still has courts, after ignoring me and looking at me cross eyed, response: " I think so". Now you are just a gym. How sad and management can't help but to place children with bad attitudes in front. I will be looking for another gym.

LA fitness is spacious, well-maintained, and offers a wide variety of equipment to suit all workout needs. The staff is friendly and helpful, always ready to assist or answer any of my questions.

The pool area is clean and perfect for a post-workout swim as well as they have a great sauna to chill and relax after a workout My only minor gripe is that it can get a bit crowded during peak hours, making it hard to find certain equipment.

Absolutely terrible experience just entering the gym. I tried to purchase a day pass because I don't want to deal with the whole membership frenzy. As soon as I asked to purchase a day pass, the front desk person passed me along to one of their desk employees there. I said again I just want a day pass to the other employee. They flat out ignored me and told me to sit at their desk- all they needed was my ID, while trying to greet others. It was hectic and I did not feel safe to stay, so I left immediately.

I can’t say enough about the great customer service I received from Mark at LA Fitness! I travelled back to the area to visit family and Mark set me up with a pass to ensure I could use the gym during my stay. Everything was quick and easy and I was working out within about 3 minutes from arriving. The gym is huge, plenty of clean machines, just a great facility. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to try LA Fitness, Mark! I recommend the gym to anyone looking for a great place and great staff!
