While I am a true foreigner here in the PNW having only recently relocated in this universe from South Central Texas, I have been with CrossFit since 2010 (my family even earlier).
What can I say about Mallard CrossFit box…
The location is an ideal low traffic area. The facilities, 2 large showers, 3 WC’s all well kept, stocked & spotless.
Members true CF friendly, immediately welcoming & the Coaches are above top notch !!
(Coach Shawna is even aiding my getting acclimated :) !

Joining Mallard has been one of the best things to happen in my life in a really long time. I went into this completely blind, knowing absolutely nothing about CrossFit. I've previously had just a small handful of experiences in larger commercial gyms, trying to figure things out on my own.
I finally decided to get over my fear of trying something totally new and booked a slot online. From the moment I walked through the door, everyone made me feel so welcome, and I took advantage of the week they offer to give it a try before committing. I was on board after the first day. It's a community of people of all ages and at different points in their health journey, and the feeling of positivity in this place is almost tangible.
I honestly couldn't recommend this place more highly. The coaches are exceptional. I've attended a lot of classes at this point, and everyone, including the coaches, roots each other on as a whole. It's already changed my life, and I think it has a great deal to do with this gym in particular, and everyone that's a part of it.

This has been my "gym-away-from-gym" for several weeks while I care for my elderly mom, and I really enjoy it. I've met three coaches so far, and they've all been great. The community has also been wonderful and welcoming. Plenty of parking, plenty of equipment, plenty of camaraderie... A+!

Mallard Crossfit is AMAZING! The facility is always clean and squared away. All of the trainers genuinely care, are super fun, and professional. This gym is awesome. I was in town for two weeks and the coaches and community made it feel like a home, while being so far away from home. I was welcomed quickly. They have a great schedule, good space, and good equipment. But the coaches were the best part. All of them are motivating and supportive and did a great job actually coaching. I was able to hit a PR on my power clean while I was there. Can’t wait to go back 💪🏼

SUPER fun. There's a lot of focus on doing the exercises correctly and not only keeping -free, but working around old injuries if you've got em. The coaches also made themselves available to discuss a recovery plan or even some nutrition pointers! We really love it here and appreciate the comfortable transition into the gym.

Awesome gym; great coaches, plenty of space and equipment, and it’s clean.
Just getting back into the gym “scene” and the folks at mallard are an awesome group to do that with; the coaches do a great job of working with your skill level/abilities without letting you slack off, and the other members offer encouragement while striving to be an inspiration of physical prowess. The gym itself has a certain feel of accountability to it(like you know people are putting in the time and sweat, so you better be ready to oblige). Give mallard CrossFit a try, you won’t regret it!

I had to update my review now that I'm officially a member and WOW I am in love. First time ever doing CrossFit for over a month and I love it! The community vibe is strong and caring! I've seen every stage and age in life in the box, and every ability level.Such kind support from everyone. there are 20 somethings to 80 somethings, and its just the best thing to know it's truly for everyone. It's amazing!
The trainers are top notch, They are definitely supportive, encouraging and extremely knowledgeable on constantly checking proper form, not only on newbies but long term members.
I feel very safe and feel I'm getting the best workout of my life.
I travel 25 minutes just for this location.
Definitely recommend checking it out. ✌️

After having 3 major surgeries in less than 18 months I was very frustrated to feel that I was starting my crossfit workouts all over again, after an 8 yr consistant training program. Needless to say I felt somewhat defeated. Walking through the door WAS the hardest part. But every trainer put in their time modifying my WOD'S to best help me gain strength and mobility according to my current ability in all the areas I most needed assistance. Since being back almost a month, I am already seeing the changes in my mind and body to want to keep pushing further. Yes, Im an ongoing athlete in training and my gains are my OWN. I’m at CrossFit Mallard 4-5 times a week. I’ve been a member since 2021 and at the time I was 3 months postpartum. I felt very encouraged and supported by all the coaches to go at my own pace rebuilding my strength and endurance. I just had my second baby 8 weeks ago and I was so appreciative of how helpful and caring everyone treated me during my pregnancy. The coaches helped me come up with pregnancy safe scaling so I was able to workout the day before my due date. Once again I’m on a postpartum journey to rebuild my strength and endurance and I’m grateful for the community I have around me.

I have been doing CrossFit for a long time now, and I’ve been to several CrossFit gyms across the US, and I have to say that my experience at Mallard is the best one out there.
The coaches make it fun, they push you to get better but don’t push you to get hurt which is very important to me.
A couple of bad back injuries and a neck injury from a previous occupation left me pretty deflated. I started CrossFit full time about 10 years ago and would be on again off again because I kept getting some sort of injury. Since starting at Mallard over a year ago I haven’t had a single injury from a workout and I feel better than ever. Granted it’s me who decides what weight to do, the coaching has made me a better and smarter athlete.
I look forward to going to the gym, seeing the noon crew I work out with, and doing the WOD’s, but the coaching is what really keeps me coming in. I feel like I’m back to normal as it relates to my back based on being watched and corrected on movements so I do them right every time.

Great people, great gym, great community. Everything you need for a great workout exists in the gym. Is every piece of equipment bright and shiny, no, but it’s a business that has a budget. They do add, update, and replace things when they can and that shows they care about it. The programming sometimes feels repetitive but it does work if you show up, even for the workouts you aren’t crazy about. Some creativity would be fun but the formula they have works. I feel welcome everyday I show up, by the coaches and the other members.
My primary criticism is the lack of a dedicated and enforced on-ramp program. The CrossFit vocabulary, gym etiquette , movements, and movement standards should be well understood after an on-ramp class. So much of the coaches’ time is spent teaching new gym members basic movements that they are unable to REALLY coach the rest of the class effectively.

Ten reasons why I am a member of Mallard CrossFit
1. While the rest of the world may be forgetting Covid-19 Mallard CrossFit continues to follow the guideline practices. Everyone has their own space. That space is regularly cleaned. Everyone has their own equipment which is kept in their own space during the workout.
2. Class sizes are limited to the available space. This facilitates each participant receiving individual attention.
3. The class schedule and WOD (Workout of the Day) is on-line in Wodify (a free downloadable app). That is where you register for classes. As class sizes are limited, there is sometimes a waiting list. If you are on the waiting list and someone cancels you automatically receive an email. Respond quickly because everyone on the waiting list gets the same email and it’s first come first serve.
4. I feel that the coaches make the safety of each participant their priority. The class is led from warmup to cooldown by the coaches. Every move is demonstrated, and questions answered, before the class executes a move.
5. Every workout is scaled to the participant’s level of strength and competence. A scaled option for each activity is demonstrated. The coaches will generally identify those participants who would best do a scaled version.
6. My fitness successes are Mallard CrossFit successes. I feel that my unique fitness journey is honored by the coaches They recognize that each athlete is starting from a different place and going towards different goals. They encourage everyone to share their goals so that over time they can support them.
7. I can use the Wodify app, integrated with the WOD, to track my progress over time.
8. The coaches have years of coaching experience and CrossFit certifications among them. Each of them offers different strengths but the bottom line is that they teach from the place of safety through proper movement.
9. The Mallard CrossFit coaches are simply amazing people! They are mothers, fathers, teachers, professionals, mountain bikers, runners, and swimmers.
10. Finally, Mallard CrossFit is a community. There are potluck dinners where you can learn more about the amazing people you meet in class. I feel I found a second home in Mallard CrossFit.

This is a great place. Just show up and you will become more fit, its really that simple. I am in the best shape of my life and its because of the Mallard CrossFit community. The trainers are good, the gym is always clean, the equipment is nice, and the programming is good. I took a chance and tried it out and have been a member for 2 years.

This is an awesome gym! The trainers are the best, they truly care about your best workout experience. There are members ranging from 20 to 70's! Everyone is made to feel welcome no matter your abilities and any workout can be scaled. It is a class environment and all workouts/movements are explained in detail. It's the best part of my day! Hands down one of the best Crossfit gyms Ive been to. The coaches are knowledgeable, the community is one of the most welcoming group of people I have ever met. The facility has high end equipment and space. I visited this location while I was on vacation for about 10 ten days and I felt as if I have been a member for years. The equipment is top notch and well maintained, which is rare.
