Went in there as someone whom last gymnastics session was 30 years ago at school and that I would be around talented people.
Well...no I am not going to say I made a super breakthrough or miracle. I still can't do handstand or cartwheel, and forward roll gave me a bit of motion sickness.
I am going back again. The warmup exercises are what I need to relax my very tensed up muscle, and while I might still not being able to do rolls, hand stand or cartwheel, I can still work on other exercises.

I didn't know I actually can kick that high up, or jump on a crash mat 3 feet high, and we'll...of course, an experience with the foam pit!

There's also others who I can tell - had great progress in their visit as well, so...any case. I like the place and I am going to keep working out!

Been here for a couple of years now for rec classes and it’s been awesome. Our kiddo is young and learning new skills based on the stations/activities set up during class. The coaches will occasionally give challenges and introduce new skills to students who seem interested in advancing on their own. The coaches we’ve had have treated our child with respect and have been appropriately stern when needed in order to keep class going and not take from the experience of others. I’d recommend this place to parents for sure. I have had a tough time getting a hold of them by phone occasionally BUT I know from spending time here that it’s because they are utilizing their staffing for coaching and often coaches get pulled to help others or work with a kid. I can’t be too mad at that honestly.

My daughter loves her class and teachers.
We’ve experienced great customer service.

Shocked to see so many negative customer service reviews on Google! Our experience has been positive. Sometimes I watch my daughter’s class from the lobby parent’s viewing area so I hear the front desk, it seems like most of the occasional angry parents never read the policies when enrolling, then give no cancel notice and get mad they were charged tuition for the next month. At one point we’ve stopped for holiday month, then rejoined with no issues! Just follow the rules for giving cancel notice and you won’t be charged.

My daughter began with rec classes here and is now on the Xcel team. She loves her coaches and teammates, she has learned so much! Her team is often on top of the podium at meets. We’ve been attending Metropolitan for 5 years now, and it’s become our home away from home.

My daughter has been with this gym since she's 6 years old, she is now 16 and still loving gymnastics! Coach Shirlene is like a second mother to her. A ton of fun, friendships and tears and lot of medals and team trophies won, lots of traveling all through the years! Time and money well spent!

UPDATE:

I find it really frustrating that the fact my daughter has been involved here for over a year, she loves it. However, had a situation arise that makes me question continuing our relationship with Metropolitan. They clearly don't understand how life happens and just expects parents to eat the money loss. My child recently broke her foot, causing her to not be able to do activity, especially gymnastics for 3 weeks. Having already paid for the tuition for the month, she only went to one class, out of the 5. They allow make up classes but they expire after 30 days and you are only allowed to use one per month. When I stated the unfairness of the situation they ignored me, and seem to have no care to resolve the situation. Unfortunate.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
My daughter loves this facility and the coaches. She is extremely shy so it's nice to have a place she's comfortable and can be herself and grow in a social way.

Highly recommend this place for toddlers. Our 23 mo daughter gained so much confidence in the Parent/Tot class. She has always been very cautious and this class gave her a lot of confidence with her physical movement. The coaches are so patient with the little ones and adjust easily to each of the student's needs.

Also the gym space itself is awesome. It's huge and spacious. Great during covid times when your little one can't mask and you're concerned about about being indoors. The space feels as if you are outside. It's worth the drive from Seattle.

It was a super fun experience. Been wanting to try out gymnastics for years and finally was able to make it out. The instructor went through every move with me since I was brand new at this and explained everything clearly to me. If I wasn't so busy and committed to so many things I would definitely want to be a regular here.

Very rude when I asked for itemized receipts. Wouldn't give me direct answers for cost or what the membership included and when we were unable to attend classes and I requested to be removed from the class that just started I was told "these classes are like rent even if you're not here you have to pay." Doesn't make sense to pay for a class that were not able to attend. Will pay the extra money to go to Ascend in Auburn better facility with friendlier staff.

There is a coach she is yelling on kids. She has very bad behavior with kids. I don’t know why they keep such a coach in gym. Coach needs to be kind and professional. My son who is almost 4 years was scared when he goes to gym from her. I tried to find her name to complains to management but I couldn’t. I was gymnastics coach for 10 years but we didn’t have such a behavior and attitude with any student. I hope the will do something otherwise they will lose students.

The team at metro run a stellar program and do an excellent job at teaching athletes to push beyond what they think is possible. Creating mentally and physically tough individuals, which is exactly what I want for my children.

This gym is truly the best in the region.

Beautiful huge facility. Including two gyms; a large team gym, and a newly build recreational gym.

High quality coaches in all programs. Supportive family atmosphere. High quality gymnastics coaching at every level from beginner level recreational classes through professional competitive teams.

Fun high quality recreational program! Supportive!

Successful competition teams for both Women’s and Men’s JO, and Xcel. Award winning teams with many state, regional, and national champions and awards. Some gymnasts go on to compete NCAA gymnastics with scholarships.

We've never experienced poorer customer service at a gym than here. They clearly care a lot more about money than customers as we experienced this poor customer care on every level of staff. The won't allow your child to do a make up day that is anywhere near equivalent to the day you lost, and if you miss more than one day (even due to their error, as was our situation) they will only give you ONE HOUR make up time for the multiple DAYS that you missed. Truly pathetic, I had to call a million times to get ahold of anyone and they sure take their sweet time getting back to you. I had to work so hard to get even that hour make up time and plenty of our money was flushed down the toilet. I've been told that many families are fleeing this gym for better locations and I understand why now. I will always warn parents about the treatment we received here!!

This gym is a gem of a place! My 6 yr old cousin did a beginner class on Saturday and she was so happy with the enthusiastic coaches. The facility itself is amazing and they are being very covid safe with following all the necessary protocols. I would highly recommend, so worth it!

This school has a stupid staff at their customer service. I canceled the membership two months ago, and I still receive charges on my mail box. I told her cancel the class , she said yes, everything is done, don't worry. She is stupid she still send me more charge. I will never register this school. Be attention and don't treat with them at all.
All the positive feedback it's from their staff. They are a big cheater

This place will work for their customers.

I rented out the gym for my daughter's 2nd birthday party. I called and scheduled the date over a month in advance, for Saturday at 4pm. The week before the party they call and confirm that our time is SUNDAY at 4pm. I tell them it isn't, and we'd like our Saturday time back, but they have someone else under that day and time and cannot give to us. Because of this, people couldn't show up to the party since they had it in their schedule for Saturday instead of Sunday, which includes people coming from out of state. Not only that, but the Seahawks game was at 5:30pm that day (there's no way I would have schedule the party that close to the game).

In the end, we had a lower than expected turnout... a whole gym with not a lot of people. I raised the issue with management, who actually fought FOR ME with upper management as I made my case and they relayed it to the owners. They ended up refunding me some of the money, which I told them was fair.

The gym itself is excellent. This is a quality facility. But remember, it is a gym, and it smells like one (you'll get used to it in 10 minutes)! The staff was excellent, helping out with the birthday party more than I expected. Very nice and professional.

I recommend Metropolitan Gymnastics.

First few levels are taught by high school kids it seems. Come eval time, perform said skill on que or spend an entire season in the same level again (even if you've done well on other skills). Disappointing. Get skills somewhere else first, then come back in the higher levels.

When they have their competition events here the seating is horrible. You would think with how much every one pays for their kids to do this the seating would be better. And why does it cost hundreds of dollars a month and you can't let me attend my kids events for free??

Kids love it and classes are fantastic for after school kids activities this is one of the best places in the area. Kids getting stronger every week and you can see results almost right away. Bad smell is of the things we don't like , I think owner needs to clean this place better then usual since dust is everywhere on the walls and stands, prizes section, pictures, etc. Over wise it is great place to involve the kids into sport instead of watching TVs and playing video games.

Metropolitan Gymnastics is a fantastic organization. We had our kids enrolled for an extended period of time, and loved it. We came to Metro from another club in Auburn and the two experiences could not have been more different. The coaches care about the children - not just as athletes, but as whole responsible, hard working, mature people. Club gymnastics is not cheap and the owners understand the sacrifices that families make to have their children involved in gymnastics. They don't view parents as an unfortunate but necessary means to dollars. They are able to walk the delicate balance between gaining respect as coach (for the kids) while being respectful towards parents who are paying the bills.
While my childrens "gymnastic careers" have come to an end, my whole family will look back fondly on our experience for years to come.
We are grateful for Yulia, Guinadi, PJ, Lu, Shirlene, and all the other coaches and staff at Metro. I will always encourage any parent to looks towards Metro for a great experinece
