Canceling your membership is a huge hassle. You cannot cancel online, through the app, or by phone. You have to go in and cancel with a signature. When I said that wasn't an option they said there was nothing they could do but transfer my account to a different PF and then cancel. I'm assuming that would take a few day but I didnt ask. Just another obstacle to keep people from canceling and leaving.

Also more free weights would be great but I understand they're trying to appeal to the beginner and machines are safer.

I’ve been to probably 50+ planet fitness locations over the years while traveling. Out of all of them, this one has the grossest shower/bathroom situation I’ve seen.

-half the showers don’t work
-mold on the ceiling of the showers
-hair and slime all over the floor (thank god I brought my shower sandals)
-shower curtains are broken so you have no privacy (and they are covered in mold)
-no Toilet paper so I had to wipe with the paper seat covers

Leighton woods is a fantastic employee 👏 👌 🙌 he went above and beyond to help find my weight belt i mistakenly left behind after my last set of the day. THANK YOU DUDE! now to the facility, this planet fitness actually lets you lift without worrying about being messed with.They have an actual squat rack, three of them, in fact, all of which are kept up.And in good condition, they also have a hip thrust machine.And a hack squat machine, which are frequently absent from planet fitnesses.In other locations, this one gets five out of five stars for me.For the friendly staff, the kept up equipment and general.Atmosphere is pretty welcoming. Great place to come spend some time exercising and caring for yourself.

place is nice but it is impossible to cancel your membership. I went in and closed it in August and got charged 60+ dollars in September. called the front desk and they implied since I never verified it was closed by checking for an email I didn't know I was supposed to recieve that it was my fault. and they dont reimburse. this happened to my mother too.

I shower here regularly after my work out. The bathrooms are usually kinda gross. Hair and band aids and used bars of soap laying around and some new rare breed of fly that likes to hang out in shower stalls . Today was no different. Same stuff laying around
but, today when I was in the shower I noticed the thick layer of mold and mildew all over the shower curtain, gross enough in itself, but also when the water hit the walls in the corner al these thick black almost beard like strands were washing away from the wall
I looked closer and they are WORMS!!!!! OF SOME KIND!!! squirming and wiggling to gat back to the corner of the shower wall. I felt more dirty coming out of that shower than I did going in. Absolutely disgusting.

I have been a member at several gym's for over 30 years. California to Washington, I've been a member at this gym for a couple of years now and this is a nice gym. New equipment is great, the staff are very friendly. Whenever I had a concern such as no hand sanitizer or paper towels they would take action. Great work Olivia and Masha always with a smile.

Been coming here for years. But lately there's always something out of order sinks,urinals etc. now the showers are down for 10 days. Unacceptable. Get your act together 😡😡

Update: not much has changed two showers down one "the accessible" stall has been down for almost a year.
Kind of ridiculous standing around in a towel waiting for a shower. One of the two urinals is almost always out of order.

Shower Review:

This planet fitness has separated showers and changing stalls.

The changing stalls have nice big doors that do not have gaps and are tall giving a lot of privacy. The floor tiles have a weird pattern that makes them look dirty, I had shower shoes so not a big deal but I thought the floor was dirty for quite a while.

The showers had quick and hot water with a simple knob that was easy to operate. The drains were weird or clogged and water spilled out of the shower into the walkway. There are shelves in the shower which I appreciate. The hanger for your towel outside the shower is a bit low.

My husband reported one shower was out of order in the men’s room and one of the changing room stalls had a broken lock.

They just upgraded all their equipment which changed my rating from a 4 to a 5.

The only complaint I have is people being in their phones and sitting on the weight equipment. I worked out for an hour and the same kid was still sitting on /using the new hack squat the entire time.

This is my home gym. To be honest with you I haven’t been in a while. I went to the Smokey point one last week but decided to go to Burlington today.

I came in today to find that the 30 minute express workout is completely gone. Im disabled so I come to use the abdominal machine in the express workout area because it has the handles I need. It’s the only one I can use because of the position of my hand.

I also used the coined massage chair. It is sooo squeaky and un relaxing! It sounds like a crying cat!

Looks like I’m either gonna have to travel to Bham or Smokey Point to use planet fitness or go to another gym all together. I’m so disappointed.

Well maintained, staff / gym members keep it clean. Equipment spaced out well, splash dmg risk almost non-existant. Saw another review about it being too hot inside - if youre the kind of person that needs to feel like youre in a refrigerator you might QQ, but cool enough for normal people.

I've used several Planet Fitness locations in different parts of the country in the last few years and this is one of the best. It seems a little larger than most and has sufficient equipment to accommodate everyone even during the busiest times of the day. The staff are friendly and helpful. The entire gym is very clean and the cleaning supplies throughout the gym are well stocked. While most of the equipment is in excellent shape, there are only two massage chairs that are worn and need to be updated.

Everything you need and expect from a planet fitness when traveling. Good equipment, space, and clean bathrooms. No issues. I gave it a 4 because staff is not too friendly or speaks to you when you enter. I felt more of a suspicious feeling versus welcoming. Probably not a lot of people travel and work in the area, so I was unfamiliar but a cool vibe overall once you enter. Smiling and greeting everyone goes a long way in business. But no other issues. Great spa area as well. Not too crowded between 5a - 8a when I was there.

They literally called the police on me and my husband even though we are paying customers.
Staff constantly harassed me and followed me into the dressing room.

Trespassed me and threatened to arrest for literally no reason while both me and my husband were in the building and already signed in.

Staff is super friendly. I've been to several different locations across the states east coast to west. Good vibe inside. VERY hot in there. Like the hottest planet I've been to. Not to bad on the stair climber front desk side but the other side is pretty darn hot. Like needs some air. Machines are clean and good working order. I don't really like where the hydro beds are. I absolutely feel like I can't relax it's SO BRIGHT and any one and everyone walking to the tanning beds can see you. It's the first one I've been to that is open to everything and BRIGHT. Very strange the way they layed that out. Other then that things seem pretty nice here so far. Just my input

This place is nasty, they got flys coming out of the men’s shower, barely fix things and they blame it on not having a maintenance person. Things have been broken for months, flickering lights, broken shower heads, damaged lockers. They have ants everywhere, from the locker rooms to the black card room. super disappointed with this location, and their inconsistent shower situation. Personally, I am paying for a “black membership” for the specific reasoning of taking showers here since ours is under construction. All last month the showers were closed due to having to do new grout. fine. extending the days that were expected due to members “breaking the rules” & using the showers, fine. To walk in on a Friday night after a long day of work, to see a paper sign stating the woman’s showers are closed until TBD. Completely unnecessary, when 3 out of 4 were working fine the day prior. Went to front desk let the guys know I’m from Florida just want to work out n take shower.
Leaving in the Am.
Ask can I just pay for a day. He says at this location we don’t do that.

I came here with my friend while I was visiting for the weekend. I wasn't sure what to expect because I'm so used to going to the YMCA in my town. They had LOTS of machines to choose from, a circuit area, stretch area, very clean rest room with locker and shower areas, and lots of different TVs up to for a variety of things to watch while you work out. I liked the touch of the signs up to remind people it was a judgment free zone and "you belong" and things like that. As a person with anxiety I thought that was very welcoming. The hydromassage chairs were an amazing added bonus at the end of a work out 😇

Only getting 2 stars because the equipment is okay and the affordable, otherwise its a one star gym. Paper towels dispensers are almost always empty. Men’s changing room doesn’t have a lock on it. The smith machine on the end has been broken since i could remember. The men’s bathroom has only had 2/3 working sinks since i started here a few months ago. Overall cleanliness of the gym is subpar. The staff isnt the best, The “manager” Issac was very rude and has no customer service. When i asked them why they threw away my sweatshirt that i left there by accident, after i called in about it that night and they confirmed they found it, and was there less then 24 hours later to pick it up. Didn’t even offer a apology just tried to make it all my fault for leaving it there. So basically if you can afford it just go to a different gym or at least not this location.

Meh. I've never particularly cared for Planet Fitness. I go there because it's convenient and there aren't alot of 24hr gyms around. But Planet Fitness'are often dirty, every PF bathroom I've been on, the shower area smells like ammonia, shit's constantly broken, all of their "lunk" related rules are stupid, and to boot, they don't utilize free weight squat racks as an option and most PF don't have a bench for decline chest press.

Take your money elsewhere. I used a different card than what was on file once & was denied entry less than 2 weeks after paying. I was out of town for school over 200 miles away! Regardless of them seeing it all right before their eyes I still have to come in person to show proof I paid? She literally acknowledged they saw tye payment with another card, had to speak to the manager & said id have to come in to show proof. Ya everyone has time to drove over 200 miles away (that's 1 way!) for this type of bs.
I was offered a deal via text after a cpl month go by & instructed to call a number. Tried several times & customer service is non existing. I tried to email then using the same email I wasn't sent receipts before to havr them sent back with an error message. These people are rip offs & do as little work as possible when it comes to customer service. Refused entry less than TWO WEEKS after making payment with a separate card on file!!! Not OK. I left several messages at the number & instead got a reminder my payment is due.

The men’s showers was dirty and filled with shaved hair everyday, the workout area was clean and tidy, staff didn’t like giving the coins for the massage area, after complaining I came back one day to see that my account was charged in full but the front desk is saying I want you to pay same amount in cash too, when I told the manger his answer was you should try our other clubs, ended up cancelling my membership and driving 70 miles south 4 times a week to the 24 hour fitness, Gyms were used to be place of respectful people and calmness, these days bullies and rude staff made them unworthy of the workout…

Inexpensive, Use of nationwide centers via top tier membership...which is still hella cheap 👌 I'm about to embark on an adventure living in my shuttle bus, driving south and eventually getting to my mom's in Phoenix Arizona. It's been like 8 years....sorry mom. I'll be putting in some miles, hopefully working some along the way. Luckily there's planet fitness all over the west coast, Nevada as well as Arizona. Who knows ...I might use some of those funny lookin machines while I'm here....The one thing this chain is missing is swimming pools and jacuzzi...but what can I expect for the bargain price. BTW, I did check, and gyms with pools/spa start at 4 or 5 times the price of a membership here! Get em while their hot 🥵😎

Affordable and accessible but very dirty and in need of some maintenance. Ladies room floor has triangle shapes cleaned like graffiti to show the floor is really purple instead of black. Many times the toilets and sinks don't work and stay in disrepair for months. The showers and main drain are often full of hair. The manager is aware and says he is trying but no change. The staff members sit behind the counter out of site playing on their phones. On the plus side the trainer is great.

I’ve been going to planet for years now and was super excited to find out I can request my own music on Rockbot during my workouts. Lately workers have been changing my songs whenever they feel like it which is super annoying because half of the workers have their own headphones in anyway. Also really discouraging that most of the time if I play music in Spanish they are quick to fade the song out, when probably a third of the gym goers are Spanish speaking. It’s getting really old. If customers are requesting songs that are approved and clean, leave them on . It’s not your job to be dj.

If I could give this place no stars, I would. The men’s bathroom has had two sinks out of three not working for over a year now. My girlfriend is also a black card member like me and she says that the ladies bathroom has had two stalls out for that time as well. The men’s dressing rooms across from the showers has had chewing gum or some other mess caked to the benches for over a year and not deep cleaned. It makes it difficult to be clean and maintain a sanitary workout under these horrible conditions. I’ve brought it up to management numerous times and the excuse I am given is this: “We have one guy for all the planet fitnesses north of Seattle that works on our plumbing and maintenance.” If that’s true, it sucks for us as paying members. Still does not answer why they can’t keep the bathrooms clean enough for someone to be able to sit on a bench to change their clothes.

Bad enough members judged and criticized my wife. The worst part was by far the staff's response.

My wife was dancing as a workout (in place in the corner) in front of the mirror and we were told that “more than one person complained it was distracting”

Just before that the staff asked if she was filming, which she wasn't, then they double back and told her she was 'distracting' people and asked her to move from the mirror as it was an area 'for weights'.

Seems like critics and judgements are condoned and validated in this “judgement free zone”. If a member decides that your workout is not a ‘valid’ or ‘acceptable’ use of the space and they criticize your actions, instead of upholding the entire value system of the gym staff will side with the critics, minimize your use of the space as invalid compared to other members, and ask you to move into a corner of the gym without mirrors.

Very unprofessional on the part of the staff to blatantly disregard the whole foundation of the gym and side with the critics in their “judgement free zone”.

Everyone has a right to use the mirrors. No matter what workout you are doing. Maybe next time you see someone dancing by a mirror you can find a space behind them, in front of them, or at one of the other mirrors like everyone else does and keep your judgement and criticism to yourself. Instead of complaining to staff about how you can't workout because you are "distracted" (also, the gym was practically empty so no it wasn’t crowded just some member on a blatant ego trip).

Plus, the staff didn’t even apologize to my wife for the experience. They minimized her use of the gym and treated her as if the other members desires superseded hers since they were lifting weights at the mirror and she was just dancing there.

Don’t side with the critics, uphold the values of the gym. The mirrors are for anyone and everyone. She wasn't doing anything wrong.

To sum up the experience once again: Not only is it bad enough members judged and criticized my wife. The worst part was by far the staff's response.

I tried to workout before work and shower afterwards. The showers were disgusting, and the outlets in the locker room did not work. I called to complain and the poor employees were stressed out because they cannot get maintenance to come fix things in the club. Things breakdown all the time and they are left broken for long periods of time. I called to ask for corporate’s phone number to make an official complaint and the employee was unable to find the number nor were they allowed to give me a number to call to complain about the multiple broken down items, the disgusting ladies locker room and the time it takes to fix things in this club. I would not waste your money if you want proper working equipment and clean place to change your clothes or outlets that work.

Been working out at this PF before covid started in 2018 and they have had different managers and trainers over the years. I'm disappointed in the management and/or trainers during my recent workout. I was doing pullups and V ups at the back yellow apparatus this afternoon and what appeared to be a male staff member wearing a black planet fitness sweater with glasses and black hair with a female wearing nude colored workout pants and no shirt on walk into the back behind me and started socializing with each other. Mind you there was no room in the area I was working out at but they chose to stand behind me and lean against the wall. Not sure if they were waiting to use the apparatus I was working out at but they didn't ask me.. Maybe they were not being observant. I just thought it was rude and it made me feel uncomfortable that these two people purposely walked to the small area behind me as I was working out. I bascially was forced to leave because they were being disruptive and they took the space I had before they came there. Why are they even behind me in the first place? Maybe they were trying to make me feel uncomfortable so I would leave? That would be the equivalent to me standing directly behind someone working out at a stairmaster and having a conversation with someone? Do they know what personal space means?? It matters to me. I'm almost 40 so maybe I am just old school. Next time this happens I am just going to say something to those people. Whoever that trainer or manager was, shame on you for not demonstrating respect for customers and giving them their space.

I love the hit training area ( High intensity training). This is my biggest Draw to this place. They have big screens all over the place to watch and to follow along with the instructor to do the workout. I could follow along with headphones instead of on my phone it is very user friendly.

Employees encourage gym members to TAKE PICTURES of themselves in the locker rooms in front of the main mirrors that reflect back 95% of the locker room changing area where other members are changing. Affordable membership was what originally attracted me to this facility and the inclusive Hydro massage and tanning. I walk into your facility with confidence and leave with confidence, Something I struggled with in the past when going to a workout/fitness center.
I would, however, say I would like to see cleaner tanning beds. It is members discretion to clean, but I would recommend that staff clean them periodically throughout the day as well. Thank you for taking my comment into consideration.

Horrible customer service. I moved away and have been trying to cancel my membership for months - I sent a letter, have left voicemails, talked to so many different people but the manager is NEVER available and never calls me back. Do not come here - they want to steal your money.

Nice gym ruined by entirely too loud music. I don't understand this. 99% of the people here have earbuds in because they prefer to listen to their own music. The people that don't have earbuds in are paying for a personal training lesson that they can't hear over this awful loud music. So I have to injure my ears because this business has no concept of normal volume. I would not come to this location if I did not have to.

I've been coming to this gym since they opened at this location it'd always been a really good place to work out then tan. recently the tanning beds have had bulbs burnt out and paper towels were empty to clean the bed after words, I've notified someone at the front and weeks later I'm still having the same issues.

My experience at Burlington Planet Fitness = Always open, Always friendly, Always helpful, The facility is Clean, The Machines are maintained. There are plenty of TVs. There are channels for every preference. Everyone sanitizes after using a machine. I could go on, and on.
I especially like the hydro massage bed. That alone (hydro massage) is worth the price of membership! The rest is icing on the cake.
This is true at most, not all Planet Fitness. I will keep going to the ones here near Burlington. There is one in Spokane that is not so good. It is good, just not good enough.

I had a little complaint about a woman hogging 2 machines, she had no belongings near the machines so to me it looked empty. I go to use it then she stops me from moving the bar on the smith machine and says she’s using it but the way she told me was very rude. I’m not going to go back and forth with an older woman so I get an employee to address the situation between us and he handled it in the best way possible. Huge thank you to Atakin. The older woman just kept going back and forth with him so I told him it’s alright I just wanted her to understand that I have every right to use any machines I want if it looks empty and so does every other paying member at a gym. Again thank you Atakin awesome guy, I felt like I was heard and he understood my frustration.

I have been going to this location for a few months now and have recently decided to cancel my membership altogether after my last visit.

It hasn't been the cleanest or most well maintained location, but it's been good enough to get in a workout and a shower. You can't expect too much out of a subscription gym like this.

During my last visit, I went to take a shower and the stalls were very dirty (see posted video - it doesn't pick up all the gross details, but it gives you an idea). I went to the front desk to ask if someone could give them a quick clean and was informed there were no females working until the following day, so nobody could clean the showers. We then asked if they could give us a mop and cleaner and we would do it ourselves and was again told no.

No apology or effort at all was made to try and make the situation better or cleaner for the members of the gym. Not a place I want to spend my money or time anymore.

be wary of a planet fitness membership. If you open a planet fitness membership, the only way you can cancel It is in person at the gym you opened it at. I moved away from my "home gym" and there was no gym that i could access regularly so i tried to call and cancel and they said you can only cancel in person at your home gym. I tried going to another planet fitness when i was visiting friends other planet fitness gyms cant help either. That is unprofessional and i will be contacting the Better Business Beuro. Finally got told that I can cancel via a letter in mail but it won't be canceled till the letter arrives and they will keep taking your money even though you said stop or no!

Erica, the manager, is amazing. The rest of the staff seem pretty on point, as well. I can't say that they adhere to their posted signs of proper attire - I see many working out in mere socks, and often flip flops or Crocs. I think maybe a sign about proper hygiene would be handy, too. More often than not, the smell of BO can be nauseating and makes working out practically unbearable.
That being said, the gym needs some updating. A few of the machines have been marked "temporarily out of service"... Temporary is now going almost a month. Quite a few of the machines have worn out/torn padding, which is gross and unsanitary. The sweat seeps into the tears and into the the padding itself... You can't "wipe" that down. You can tell they don't clean under the machines, as dust bunnies have collected.
All in all, I continue to go here, but would switch if I found a better maintained gym.

Very nice and welcoming staff, locker rooms are nice, bring your own lock. The showers have a small rise at the feet so the water doesn't drain in the center of the room. Tanning beds are great, I suggest the stand up one.

I can't believe I pay for a gym membership to use this faculty; it's like they're trying to set a world record for the filthiest showers ever! If you're into extreme sports like "Dodge the Mold" and "Slip 'n Slide on Soap Scum," this place is perfect for you. The handicap shower was so bad they just put up caution tape up, not sure if there was an ongoing investigation into the death of the shower or if someone slipped and fell on the scum. The only way I'd shower here again is if I was auditioning for a role in a horror movie about haunted gyms. Good luck, brave souls! 🚿

Got my child registered for the summer program. Very excited for her and thankful for the program. Disappointed they don't have a short membership or pass for the parents to join for the summer to lift with their kids...was like pulling teeth just to get that information.

Terrible experience with billing. Signed up for the 10 dollar a month plan, I have already paid 150 dollars and had my membership for 3 months. I’ve been charged 2 annual fees for a total of 106 dollars and that’s just in the month of may. Worthless customer service.
