I've been going to this location since it opened, because it's convenient for me. The reviews about lack of cleanliness are legit. I'm always walking around, in between sets, picking up other people's paper towel garbage, old water bottles left behind and throwing them away. I have also been known to pick up clumps of hair/dust bunnies and toss them as well.

Recently, I had to use the stall in the men's bathroom and there wasn't any toilet paper so I had to tear up and crumple toilet seat covers to wipe my ass as I'd left my baby wipes in the car.

All around the gym there are signs for "Cell phone use in lobby only", yet every millennial with a pair of thumbs are either having a phone conversation on speakerphone, or sitting on equipment for up to 10 minutes while those of us who are actually there to work out, have to wait. I don't pay my gym dues every month to sit and watch a bunch of young punks sit and scroll on their phones. If they want to pay their dues to scroll on their phones, maybe they should sit at the provided tables near the front desk, do it there and get out of the way of those of us there for a purpose. Because if Planet Fitness won't enforce signs they display in this facility, then I will.

Hey, Planet Fitness owner.....why don't YOU reach out to your establishment and do your job? Maybe stop in unannounced and see the dirt, debris, empty paper towel dispensers in the gym and you can address those concerns with your business. Unless you're going to put me on the payroll?

Cash stolen from man’s locker room locker!!!
We are frequent users of the facility. Location is convenient to where we live and we love the friendly employees and environment.
But one scary thing happened last Saturday: my husband’s locker was broken in - the lock was missing, and cash stolen. Fortunately the thief left the credit card and ID card intact. We reported the incidence to staff immediately and raised the issue again to the manager on Monday (yesterday). Waiting for response. Will come back to update if any.
Be careful not to leave any valuables in the locker room!

I travel the country and frequent Planet Fitness locations all over.. Some great, some not so great, typically I just assume something like a dirty bathroom is just me catching them at a bad time.. But this morning, I walked in to the men's lockerroom to find a mess, no toilet paper in stalls.. Whatever, figured someone would be by to clean and stock it up eventually.. but 2 hours later finished my workout to find the lockerrooms in an even worse state, still no toilet paper.. They had multiple employees just hanging out on their phones at the front desk, it really is troubling to me that none of the staff cared to even restock the restrooms, even if they didn't want to be the ones to clean up the other messes. Would not recommend this location at all and will not be returning. Never have these kinds of moments at any others all across the nation, where I would recommend people go.

Traveling, and very grateful to be able to visit many PF locations for exercise, massage, red light, and showers. This location Is astonishingly dirty. Before using the Beauty Angel, i thought i should clean the vibration platform. The accumulated dirt and hair, required three attempts of spaying and wiping. The rubber foot mat was just filthy. In the end I stood on paper towels. In the women's shower stalls, walls and floors were covered in hair and a thick soap scum, grime. There were two broken razors, an old bar of soap, and abandoned toiletries.. The showers really need a powerful professional steam cleaning. It was difficult to feel comfortable entering the shower, until I cleaned it carefully. Still grateful for the shower.

"Come for the workouts, stay for the bacteria!"

This Planet Fitness is your typical franchise setup—purple, black, and judgment-free-ish. The big twist? It’s managed like a ghost ship.

The men’s bathroom had zero soap. Not "low on soap." Not "soap dispenser broken." I mean, not a single molecule of soap in sight. If you’re into washing your hands after using the bathroom like some kind of weirdo, good luck.

As for wiping down equipment? Bold of you to assume that paper towels would be available. The dispensers were emptier than my motivation to do leg day.

If hygiene matters to you even a little, consider running (far away) as your cardio. Otherwise, bring your own soap, towels, and perhaps a hazmat suit.

Needs to be cleaned - lots of dust and hair clumps all over and under the equipment, the bathrooms get pretty dirty too. Staff is nice but most of the time they’re just standing at the front hanging out and talking when they could probably be doing more - it’s a bunch of teenagers with zero management. I’ve seen responses to other reviews telling customers to alert staff if things aren’t clean, but we shouldn’t have to manage a whole branch - staff can literally look down and see it needs to be cleaned.
Other locations have people constantly walking around cleaning, I haven’t seen that one time in the 9 months I’ve been going to this location. I will be going back to the Lake Forest Park location if things don’t improve.
The gym is already a notoriously dirty place to be because people are touching everything and sweating, so I think the cleanliness of a gym is a big deal.

Other gym goers and the staff are generally friendly and cordial. This facility can easily achieve a five star rating, but they have to keep this place clean and properly operational. I occasionally visit this location as I’m in the area once or twice a week, and over the last month or two, I’ve seen how they stopped cleaning the locker rooms and relief areas of the bathroom. You can tell it’s been weeks, I mean weeks, where the facilities have not been cleaned properly. Management needs to get some extra hands during the day or at night to keep this place clean. Cleaning is not a one person show at a large facility like this.

This Planet Fitness location could use some significant improvements. The locker room and showers were not very clean, and the layout was odd. While there were multiple showers available and the water was hot, the shower curtains didn't fit properly, leaving noticeable gaps and there was hair in all the showers with notice grime and soap scum. Additionally, the faucets were positioned absurdly high and directed at the curtains, which was inconvenient with water going everywhere. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this gym. The parking situation was not ideal either.

Once again, such a disappointment with my visit to this Edmonds planet fitness location this evening! I came into use the massage chair. To start off, there were five employees at the front desk and nobody asked if I needed assistance. Getting their attention, I had asked if we can do two back-to-back massage chair sessions which they often allow. When the first 10 minutes ends then they start the next 10 minutes without me having to go back to the front desk. Today, after two people had helped me, with one employee saying that would be OK and and explaining this to the first employee how this is done. But as soon as I went to start my 2nd 10 minutes session, another customer came in and was questioning me - why I was starting another session when her and her friend were just told they can get in the massage chairs. I explained to her that I was doing two 10 minutes sessions and that was how we set it up when I got in the massage chair. I then said to her that I would stop so her & her friend could use them. She says no don’t worry go ahead, we’ll wait, This customer then went back out to the front desk to let them know the situation and then another employee came back and told me that I was given the wrong information and I had to get out of the chair and get in the back of the line. But then once again, I was told by the other customer it’s OK it doesn’t matter. The other employee had said well you could just use the chair. I just got out of the chair, went back up to the front desk to confront one of the employees that had helped me. His response was I had told you maybe. While the other employee who had told me, yes, was not there. I felt cheated as a customer. I felt lied to as a customer. I felt belittled as a customer. I was treated like I had lied and cheated. What a shame to not have any customer service etiquette. Both the other two customers and myself left dissatisfied. I will be contacting the owner and the corporate. My hope is that this Edmonds Planet Fitness would become a better place.

The Edmonds location is a newer one, but there's not a working water fountain. This has been the case since it opened. I'm not even asking for them to spend a ton of money to fix the water pressure issue - at least offer paper cups for members to drink water from instead of forcing them to give the fountain a series of beejs or cupping water in their hands - which is the opposite of sanitary.

This is the Planet Fitness that finally made me cancel my membership. New location, and everything is disgusting. For just one of many, many examples, I noticed a clod of dirt on the floor of the women's locker room that was there for weeks. Brought a friend of mine as a guest and he said the men's room had caked on feces in places and was horrendous. I found a review complaining about the same problem from weeks earlier with pictures and my friend confirmed that that was what he'd seen. So embarrassed to have brought him.
The staff are very much a boys club and clearly have never been taught to clean and have no incentive to learn. The owner, or someone who claims to be, will say in every negative review to let the staff/manager on site know if something needs cleaning. The times I did that I was condescended to by the people behind the counter and nothing was done. I heard one of them says "as if the mess is my fault!" to one of his coworkers as I walked away. I mean, I assume you didn't make the mess, but it's literally your job to clean it.
I would also let them know when paper towels needed to be refilled, and lo and behold an hour later they'd finally send someone out to do it.
This location is ridiculous. Go to the Lake Forest Park branch if you have the choice.

A robbery occurred there this afternoon and the staff did not inform the customers that there was a robbery until people started getting a transactions happening on their accounts. When I called to get a police report number the staff had informed me that they HAD NOT contacted the Edmonds police department. I had to call, to start a report. Apparently this is the 3rd robbery that has occurred at a planet fitness in The surrounding area. 5 guys walked in and went straight into the men’s locker room where they broke into patrons lockers stole their stuff and walked out.
Negative 5 stars. Terrible customer service. Way to look out for the paying customers who come in. If you were one of the people whose stuff was stolen contact the Edmonds police department. Thanks

I was about to buy the black card membership online and head out tonight since I could not sleep and was getting back into working out. But after reading the reviews about how unhygienic this place seems and no working water station after not even being open that long seems a little insane to me.

Review update 4/10. I decided to sign up due to the price while being weary of the reviews and went in today. Staff at the front desk was friendly and everything as far as I could tell was acceptable and clean. Just be careful of the parking lot since it is in the Ranch 99 market and notorious for fender benders and bad drivers. I would know, I used to work at the collision clinic across the street and over 30 percent of our business came from this parking lot which is insane.

I've started coming here in the fall of 2024, and the atmosphere is amazing. Newly improved machines, staff are friendly, and it's not so crowded, unlike other fitness clubs I've been to.

Although the Edmonds club can be dirty at times. The locker room is dusty. Restrooms haven't been cleaned in a while. Trash bins are always filled up with garbage and not taken care of at times. Also, your water fountain is always out of order. May consider having your staff clean up the place more often.

They used a scam to get my fiancee to sign a black card membership. No clarifying that his free guest would not be allowed to use the tanning facilities. He never used them and we signed up because of the brochures sent to our house advertising that there was no limitations on what his guests were allowed to use. Me and my husband are members. The equipment is great, lots of variety. However, the cleanliness is sub par. I only use this gym because it is located so close to where I usually work. One star is for having a nice amount of equipment, star 2 is for the people that workout at this facility are extremely nice people to share a gym with.

How can a gym that opened approximately 3 months ago be in such hygienic dismay? I've spoke to one of the managers before and was told that he was busy training new employees on how to do their jobs. I can understand that as it does take time for people to grasp a new job.

Today however, the bathroom was in such a disgusting state that I skipped my shower. I went to the front desk and the young man working at the front, short curly shape up hair and was wearing a gold bracelet (did not get the name), told me the manager was in the office and when I asked to speak with the manager the young man responded "Why?". I explained why and with his hands still on his head he shrugged and said "cool".

Dude, not "cool". Do your job that your employer is paying you to do and clean the dang place.

I was at this Edmonds location on Monday 11/25/2024 for the first time and I would give it 5 stars. I saw other complaints that the heat was up too high, but it was at a comfortable temperature. I came again today on Wednesday 11/27/2024 and it was so hot I couldn't finish my work out. So they have an employee cranking the heat up on their individual shift and causing discomfort and possible safety concerns because they didn't come dressed appropriately... I'll come back next week and if the temperature is at a reasonable level I will change this rating to 5 stars.

This is my least favorite PF in Seattle & I've been to 6 of them. Here's a few prime examples:

>Their fountains were broken for days & when I asked one of the employees if they had any water, he rolled his eyes & sighed. I had to ask them if they'd comp me a water - a single water. Like it was an unreasonable request. Like not having water at a gym isn't a problem. So rude.

>The music here is weird. Sometimes no music, sometimes stock PF playlist, some times it'll be dead quiet & the employees will crank absolute garbage over the speakers out of nowhere. The latter being more a problem than the former. This should really be addressed by management.

>Feeling like the employees don't exist can really make the place feel like a free for all. Nobody gets out of line, but you do see more lunkhead behavior at this particular PF - taking videos, posturing, leering & grunting, etc. It's a vibe for sure.

My 2nd visit & very disappointed in this location compared to the 3 others i have been to. My home gym was closed do i opted for the longer drive to this location. They are short staffed & one young employee was sitting on a chair hidden behind the front desk counter with his head in his phone. Never been a gym person but finally got motivation to go in my late 60’s. So I don’t have a lot to compare it to. But I am thrilled with my experience so far. It’s large, tons of equipment, clean. Well lit, the music is not too loud, and seems to work well. The staff is friendly. Sarah the trainer has been wonderful. She’s shown me exercises for core, upper body, and lower body. She really knows her stuff, has a bright personality, very enthusiastic, but also communicates well and shows understanding about my limitations enough to modify the exercises.

Although the parking lot is in a big strip mall, I have not struggled to find a space yet. I can see that might be an issue during certain day/times. The spaces are wide which matters to me.

I chose this over an alternative I can walk to in 8 minutes. PF is about half the cost, better parking lot, and after waiting for staff for 5 minutes to discuss membership I just left.

Here is a thorough review for those of you who really like to have more information about a gym before you consider signing up for it.

For the TLDR crowd: location is large with good lighting. Lots of equipment and space to work out. 24 hour location. Women’s bathrooms are always filthy, Always check for toilet paper before you sit down in the stall because they’re constantly out of toilet paper. The floor workout area usually is dirty and has dog hair on it. If you are picky about cardio equipment, and you have concerns about balance on treadmills or need comfort in upright or recumbent bikes these will probably not work for you. I do cardio days at a different location.

The more expanded review for those of you who want a little more information:

This particular location has adequate amounts of workout equipment. It suitable for those who love cardio, those who like to work out on machines and those who also like free weights. There is an abundant amount of free weights in this gym. They also have numerous pull-up stations in the back of the gym that are set up with TRX equipment that also have kettle bells, hand weights, resistance bands, and come with instructions on how to do different workouts at these workout stations. There is also an area for arm workouts that have the ropes. You’ll get a good workout in this gym If you already know how to use the equipment and are comfortable around all of it. If not, just ask the staff for help.

This gym does have some issues. One big thing for me is that they’re using all matrix equipment. I don’t like the matrix brand. It leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when it comes to their cardio equipment. I find their treadmills arm rails are set extra low so if you’re taller than about 5 foot seven you’re gonna have issues if you have problems With your balance and you need to hold the rails during workouts. I find them to be too low for me and I’m only 5 foot 8. The bikes are very uncomfortable and the upright bikes, especially have too far of a distance between the seat and the armrest if you like to lean forward while you ride, which is something I do, i don’t like to sit completely upright during a hard ride. I like to put my arms on the handrails, similar more to riding on and outdoor cycle. I prefer the life fitness brand which is in most of the other locations.

As far as cleanliness, I saw someone else wrote that the gym is pretty clean. I disagree. If you’re working out in the backside of the gym where the pull-up stations are there’s constantly dirt from people shoes, dog hair and sometimes you’ll find water bottle lids, paper towels, and other garbage on the floor, this area needs to be cleaned more frequently. And the women’s bathrooms are always disgustingly filthy I hate having to use the bathroom here because it’s just gross. The second stall toilet paper holder has been broken and hanging down on the wall since September. Half the time the toilet paper dispensers are empty. There are toilet seat covers laying all over the floor hair too. The spa area is missing paper towel dispensers, and disinfectant. The staff claims that’s their job to do it but I have watched after other members have gotten off of machines and nobody has cleaned them. I end up getting a bottle and paper towels from out in the gym and spray and clean up myself and then put everything back. Even gym equipment is constantly dirty members aren’t wiping anything down between uses. So the staff needs to become more diligent about making sure everything is frequently being cleaned.

There are also signs around for people to not film in this location yet you’ll find people in there on their phones filming right out in the middle of the gym Right next to somebody who’s working out in their shot.

Lastly, I’ve had no problems with the staff. I find them very friendly and helpful when you need their help.

Just a note about the location, it’s next to an extremely busy shopping center so on weekends go early in the morning or later in the evening because finding parking is next to impossible.

This is the nicest planet fitness I’ve ever been to, and I’ve been to many since I travel across the country a lot. Very clean facility with equipment that looks brand new. Very convenient that it is also open 24 hours. Will come again.

See attached photos concerning the police reports I issued tonight on this establishment. Be advised this Planet fitness does not have their own phone number. The phone number listed on Google rings their Mill Creek location.

Hostile employees, Keegan and an unidentified employee were involved in this incident. Without my knowledge, my membership was canceled when I opened my Planet Fitness application.

Keegan visciously canceled my membership without my knowledge, consent, or notification 🔔.

This matter has been been referred to Planet fitness executive offices as well as the Edmonds police department.

The place is so well built! Love the set up and little hidden areas to work out with free weights, would be nice to have more mirrors back there. Other than that! Nothing bad to say! Everything is brand new and can’t beat 24 hours!
