Extremely disappointed with the basketball here, there's four courts, one of them is pickleball full time, one of them doesn't even have events going on half the time but the baskets are still raised up so the other two courts are just extremely packed. It just makes no sense to me.

Front desk staff member Seth was downright obnoxious and completely lacking in basic professionalism. I’m a member, and my husband and five-year-old were arriving about twenty minutes after me to use guest passes for Family Fun Night. I planned to already be in the pool when they showed up.

Instead, Seth turned the entire situation into a power trip. He insisted I would have to get out of the pool—dripping wet—and physically present myself at the front desk the moment my family arrived, refusing to process the guest passes in any reasonable or standard way. He kept quoting the rules with an almost triumphant tone, as if he finally had a chance to flex whatever tiny bit of authority he believed he had.

The interaction was petty, hostile, and completely unnecessary. When I told him no other front desk staff had ever been this rigid, he replied that they were simply “being nice.” So is he openly admitting that he is, in fact, not nice—or is basic courtesy just optional at your front desk, exercised only when the staff happens to feel like it?

Since Bay Club took over, the overall quality has dropped hard. The amenities and facilities are noticeably dirtier, the locker rooms feel outdated, and the showers look like they haven’t been properly maintained in ages. It’s a big step down from what this place used to be.

The bigger issue is the staff. One of the trainers Tony stepped in while I had a single set left and wouldn’t even let me finish. Instead of asking what was actually going on, he took the side of someone who had been hogging the machine and dismissed me when I tried to explain. It was immature and completely unprofessional.

Even worse, my personal trainer was verbally harassed by another trainer in a way that was both racist and misogynistic. There’s absolutely no place for that in any workplace, let alone a gym that claims to be “premium.” Management’s response didn’t match the seriousness of the situation.

The culture here used to be far better. Now it feels like the standards have slipped across the board, and no one in charge seems to be paying attention. Used to feel like family.

I’ve been coming here for a long time, and while I appreciate the sheer size of the gym and the variety of offerings, there are several frustrating aspects. The biggest issue for me is the café—its menu is overwhelmingly unhealthy, with 80% brownies, cookies, and candy, leaving very few post-workout options I actually want. It’s also extremely meat-heavy, with the only vegetarian choice being an overpriced PB&J. I’d love to see a menu revamp with healthier, vegetable-forward options. Other concerns include outdated showers, occasionally rude locker room staff, and poorly maintained equipment.

Imma be straight up the gym is one of the best I’ve used and the staff are all friendly. The locker room needs to be gutted and completely renovated as there’s stains and it’s humid and poorly ventilated with a strong musty scent. There’s even carpet in the entire locker room and I’m pretty sure it’s older than me. It’s pretty nasty ngl

A lady was drying her gym clothes in the sauna last evening!! I told the staff today & was informed that she does this all the time. And apparently has even been found warming her food there 🤦🏽‍♂️There are no full time attendants in the executive lounge which means that the only folks who suffer are the ones who follow all the rules !! Which means I get to see women use the phones in a place where everyone is almost naked!!! I see private items in the refrigerator! I see women applying lotion in the sauna. And someone can dry sweaty workout clothes without anyone holding them accountable!!! Please don't make me cancel my membership!! I absolutely love the gym & enjoy the locker room. But , I shouldn't have to worry about unchecked entitled morons !! Thank you for your attention in this matter 😅

Great club that offers anything you can ever want from a variety of classes pretty much any time of the day or night to recovery chairs gallery and multiple areas to exercise on your own without any wait.

Update on 11/7/2025:

The tennis management team is still as bad as before. Many people left and is moving to other clubs such as Central Park Tennis Club.

1. The tennis court reservation rules are stupid and does not make much sense. The tennis management team is either not capable of coming up with reasonable rules or not doing their job. So disappointed.

2. Regardless how bad the rules are, the management team is not consistently enforcing them, instead it is purely random. It appears that they knew people hated the rules and ignored stupid part of the rules, but the management team is doing nothing to maintain fairness among members. Instead they randomly pick on members which makes things even worse.

-----
Used to be a great place but now becoming worse and worse especially with tennis courts. The club has been trying to impose many insane rules that does not make sense at all. Recommend not joining now before the nonsense is fixed.

Last minute changes to the tier of swim instructor resulted in chaos and required to buy more packages while existing package still has classes remaining. Prices were already outrageous now their processes are also weird. Why they could not tell a few days ago, had to tell night before the class while my package use is over the month.

It used to be great, now it is just ok. On the positive side, there is a large amount of facilities with continuous updates on the different areas. On the downside, the cleanliness and attention to detail decreased significantly in the last few years. For example, for a location that proclaimed cleanliness and safety as a top thing, it is surprising to see that the disinfectant bottles and towels are only on the every other second or third machine in the weights room, and some of them are not working. As a result, fewer and fewer people are using them. Another example was the pile of 10-15 used towels on the floor on Wednesday evening next to the second row of lockers on the upper floor. Of course, the people that threw them there instead of close by bin are also to blame, but a contributing factor can be as well that there was a single maintenance person to be seen on both floors of the men's locker. He seemed to work very hard, but one person cannot cover what used to be 3-4 people before. Finally, the shower rods and even the sprinkler head on the lower level on the men's locker show significant rust. I do not know if this represents a safety issue or not, but for sure it does not inspire confidence in the level of care of the management for the maintenance - the details less visible to the public are sometimes a better indicator of the priorities than the beautiful and continuously renovated entrance area.

Proclub has a nice environment. They offer a good variety of group fitness classes with the gym membership, including TRX classes, Zumba, weight (dumbbells) and cardio classes, yoga, mat pilates, and even pickle ball clinics.
I would say that the membership price is worth it, especially if you have a shared membership.

I used to give this gym five stars, but I have to change my review because of the company’s unfair billing tactics.

In May of this year, ProClub updated their cancellation policy for their shared membership plans. The cancellation policy for shared members used to be to provide notice by the 25th of the month, but in May 2025 they changed it to requiring a full month’s notice before your membership could be cancelled.

They communicated this new cancellation policy in page 4 or 5 of their monthly newsletter that they send to members. If you don’t read their newsletters or don’t read every single word in the newsletter, you may miss this policy update.

I don’t read their newsletters, because it is mostly about kids classes and camps, and services that they offer. It meant that unfortunately I didn’t know about the new cancellation policy that took effect in May 2025.

When I went to ProClub to explain this, their reply was that the new cancellation policy was communicated in their March and April newsletters, and therefore it was the member’s responsibility to know about the new policy.

They wouldn’t give a grace period for this policy change. I was moving out of the country in the first week of June and still had to pay $210 for one month of membership fee, even though I wasn’t going to be able to use the facilities.

I wonder why for such an important policy update, the change wasn’t mentioned in the title or even in the first few paragraphs of their monthly newsletter. You had to scroll about 3/5s through the newsletter to see the few sentences mentioning the new cancellation policy for shared members. I talked to a membership advisor who said that I wasn’t the first person to miss the new cancellation policy and that he had heard multiple complaints previously. The company will charge you for an extra month of membership if they do not receive a cancellation notice 30 days in advance.

It just shows that the people managing ProClub are greedy and only care about their earnings. It’s convenient hiding behind a corporate veil while letting your frontline employees tell members that there is nothing that they can do.

Before I left the country, I got gift cards for my favorite group fitness instructors. I could have given them more or give more group fitness instructors gift cards to thank them for the wonderful job that they have done. It’s sick thinking that I am paying $210 for something that I can’t use, when the new cancellation policy was communicated in such an obscure manner.

I’m so glad I left this commercialist country. 🤮

Not a fan of the male front desk staff here just very rude. They need to hire a new night staff and like fix a lot of issues with hospitality in general. Me and my girlfriend came here and it was just not a great experience overall. Not worth your money at all. The girls who work here are amazing tho in the front desk extremely helpful. Thank you to them.

My frustration is in a few places.
1. Get on those who don’t monitor their kids in the cafe, hallways and courts.
2. Make sure that parents are not bringing their young kids in the adult only locker rooms.
3. Fix the reception throughout the whole building and no I do not want to use your unsecured network to call or text

I've been coming here for a long time, and while there are certain things I like (it is just an enormous gym with lots to offer), there are also lots of things I don't. The main issue I have, honestly, is the cafe. The food available is SO unhealthy. It's 80% brownies, cookies, and candy. I understand having those options, but it crowds out what I'd like to have after a workout! Another frustration--it is so meat heavy. The only veg option is a wildly-overpriced PB&J, otherwise it's all chicken and beef. I would love for them to revamp their menu, both in the cafe and for the menu of whatever is replacing the bistro upstairs. Please provide healthier, vegetable-forward dishes. I have a few other complaints (a few members of the women's locker room staff can be rude, the showers have had the same curtains I think since the '90s, the equipment in the women's workout area is barely functional, etc.), but the one that I find the most shocking and disappointing is the cafe menu. Please upgrade it!

I’ve given Monika Mayfield several chances, but unfortunately each Botox treatment has resulted in heavy brows and drooping eyelids. Despite expressing my concerns, the issue persisted every time. Additionally, appointments often felt unprofessional—she spent an excessive amount of time talking about her personal life, including inappropriate details about her sex life. This made the experience uncomfortable and not at all what I expect from a medical aesthetic provider.

Besides being an overpriced gym with old equipment and always packed, management is the worst. Me and my wife cancelled our membership on July 2nd and still, on August 4th (AFTER 30 days of requesting the cancellation) they posted another charge.

My wife left a review and the VP said they would contact us to resolve and a week later, nothing. We have proactivelly reached out twice in the meantime and they continue to ignore.

This is how they do business.

Starting from early this year, every weekday evening, the janitor named “Ken(t)” on the upper level men’s shower room has been consistently closing up the upper shower at 9:30 pm during weekdays, while the posted closing time is 10:45pm - almost 1 hour ahead of schedule every weekday night.

The young “Ken” guy closes the upper level prematurely because he wants to go home early and as a consequence, every customer using ProClub men’s shower room after 9:30 pm needs to go down to the bottom level to take a shower.

This creates accessibility issues. It also double the workload for other janitors working at the bottom level. It’s a really selfish and slacking action taken by Ken and created really bad customer experience.

I hope management can investigate ASAP and replace the janitor named Ken and restore customers trust.

Don’t expect transparency or commitment to contracts if you decide to enroll at Pro Club or your child in Discovery Bay.

From February 2024 - January 2025 I was a member at the Bellevue Pro Club and my son was enrolled in Discovery Bay daycare. To hold my son’s spot at the daycare, my husband and I paid a *refundable* $200 deposit.

In Dec 2024, we moved, and made the decision to move our son to a daycare closer to our new house. We gave the required 30 days written notice to the daycare director, and was told that our $200 refundable deposit would be refunded to me in early Jan.

Since January 2025, I have been in repeated communication with multiple staff -- both at Discovery Bay and at the Pro Club concierge -- about this deposit, but it has still not been refunded. I keep getting "we'll handle it and be in touch", but then when I reach back out, they don't respond to emails or phone calls.

I have multiple emails and written communications that the $200 will be returned to me, but alas, EIGHT months later, it has not been. At this point, the run around, lack of follow up and follow through makes me warn others to be wary of Pro Club.

[update] The staff in this site helped me found the lost shoe after the daily cleaning of the Locker room the next day. So update it here.

[original] It’s really astonishing that my kid lost one of his shoes here. The shoes are left under the bench, and when we get back to the Locker room, only 1 of the shoes are left. They are a pair of dragon-shaped shoes with lights, my kid was really upset. That’s just astonishing to me that this kind of things happened here…

I recently became a tennis club member. I brought my wife as a guest today, for which I paid the appropriate guest fees. I also brought my 2-year-old child simply to watch me play.

During check-in, the front desk staff was unreasonably rude and insisted that I needed to upgrade my membership to include my toddler—even though I had already added him to my profile in the app. It’s absurd to suggest that a 2-year-old would be playing tennis with me via upgrading the membership. This experience was both frustrating and disappointing.

The overall service quality of Pro Club is much below what people are paying for. I don’t recommend anyone to join.

I mostly like the club but a couple things are annoying me more and more the longer I'm there (which has been 9 mos.). Those are that the women's locker room needs to be completely remodeled. It is OLD. Must have last been updated in the 90s. The other is that they haven't sent me a single survey. They don't seem to care what members think. I have several comments I'd like to tell them and it would be nice if they were more open to asking for feedback. They charge a lot of money so why can't they ask feedback.

The gym has everything you would need. The locker room cleanliness is less than ideal: pink mold/mildew in the showers and steam room, rusting shower curtain rods, and dirty urinals. And you can add 8 people to your membership now even though it’s already crowded, which I’m sure won’t help with keeping things clean.

Very overpriced for what you get. It’s a big gym, with some courts, a lot of equipment and the convenience of an expensive med spa/salon if that’s what you want. I have respectfully shared with the staff that the women’s area is not clean a few times now in the past. It never was cleaned. Tissues on the ground for weeks. Nothing changed. I started using the general area instead where the equipment seems to be cleaned more regularly. Today I returned to the women’s area again for the first time in months - it’s a sunny day and I liked the idea of working out with a view of outside. Both the stair climber and rowing machine are broken…you can kind of use them but come on, the rowing machine barely pulls. There is old gum on the stair climber.

I think leaving a public review *might* be the only way management listens at this point.. Bummer :(.

I agree with Sarah Parker. Pro Club used to be one of the best sports clubs in town. But recently, the service level has declined. Today, Easter Sunday, I pointed out to the only staff member in the free weight room (at the time) that the clock time in one of the digital clocks was wrong. It was almost 12pm but the clock was showing 7am. His response was that he didn't know how to adjust it and he wasn't going to call engineering just to adjust a digital clock time. I was really surprised by his answer. However, most of the staff members are very nice, and helpful.

The PRO Club has been steadily declining over the past year, and it’s clear that management is no longer prioritizing its members. There are numerous ongoing issues that are consistently ignored.

The women's locker room is outdated, with toilets that barely flush (even after multiple attempts), misaligned stall doors that don’t lock properly, and lockers that are constantly malfunctioning.

While the club recently invested heavily in upgrading the downstairs weight room to attract new members, the rest of the facility has been neglected. Even the new TRX area in the remodel is poorly designed — the cables are too close to the wall, and it's a hazard with kettlebells strewn around. It’s baffling who is making these choices, but it doesn’t seem like anyone focused on delivering a top-tier fitness experience.

Treadmills have now been relegated to a single aging room, where you’re forced to contend with the loud, constant whirring of oversized massage chairs. To make matters worse, the outdated sound system pumps out distorted bass and garbled music that’s impossible to escape, even with headphones. When concerns are raised, staff dismissively respond with, “It’s fine.”

Fitness classes are regularly packed beyond a comfortable capacity — so if you enjoy being shoulder to shoulder with strangers during your workout, this might be the place for you.

The swimming pool also leaves much to be desired. The tiles and walls have visible black buildup, which doesn’t inspire confidence in the facility's cleanliness. And with summer approaching, expect the club to be swarmed by non-member campers who take over the family locker rooms and pool areas.

Sadly, the PRO Club is no longer the premier health and fitness destination it once was. One can only hope they start listening to their members before more people take their business elsewhere.

Because, after all, what is a club without its members?

Edit March 10/2025:

Spencer reached out to me after I wrote this review and told me my refund was sent back as a credit and that I could receive it back to my card if I fill out a secure form. I told him I would like the secure form since credits will not help me as I am no longer a member of the pro club. I have not heard back since then which was December 16, 2023. I have called him multiple times, emailed him, and left a voicemail. Spencer is unreachable and it just shows that if you don’t owe them money and it is not costing them their business, they do not care to make things right.
Only reason I am writing this review is because it was the only way I could get a hold of the vice president of membership.

First review:
My family and I were told in JULY (2024) that we would be receiving a refund of our membership fee after pro club got bought out and we were on contract with them and I have still have not received anything. I have emailed Spencer multiple times since then and am getting the silent treatment. I have called the pro club as well and still unable to get this done and move on. Very frustrating.

It’s been a month here at PRO club. Just very dissatisfied with the group class booking system. You book your class and be there 5 minutes early and you still DONOT get to enter the class!!!! This has happened twice already. It’s really frustrating when you make a booking 3 days before and prepare to attend the session but you just have to change your plans. The booking system should be monitored by the trainer so the members who registered actually get a spot in the room.

I am ProClub member for over 10 years. It is a big sports club where you can find almost any sport activity you want.

At the same time it is very sad to see that the service level and the customer service are on decline in this facility.
These days I am going for a pool lap swim almost every other day. I go late in the evening so that I can get a free lane, when there are many people, I usually share the lane with someone else. But in recent months I had 3 or 4 times when 1/2 of the pool facility is closed due to .... "understaffing". Clearly the pool manager is not doing his or her job. I do not remember this happened in previous years. It is ok if it was one time emergency, but now it is getting regular. And the best the club can do is to deny the service the members are paying for.
"We are understaffed, sorry. Go to overcrowded lap pool which has 3 persons per lane which makes it impossible to exercise without disruptions. Or simply go home. Never mind that you lost all this time driving to the club late."

It is a big club, hard to believe that the staff is so stretched.
At least if the club is not able to honor their service agreement find a way to compensate unhappy customers with some credits. Hopefully financial means will force the management to do a better job at staff operations.

6 months ago I also complained about cleanness in the pool area. Clear dirt and blotches of hair were left around the pool for multiple weeks and it appeared that nobody was cleaning the pool for long time. I complained on Facebooks and got a reply that someone is going to follow up with me. Nothing happened. Probably it was put on the same pool manager who is poor at their job.

(2/18/2025 update): You see the response from the owner that they will follow up with me directly. Well, they did not. I was in the pool yesterday and had to navigate around dirty spots.

We both are super unhappy about this situation, I have already talked to the different level of management, supervisor, etc. and list all issues, including dirty areas, not good hospitality, rude employees behavior (especially in supervisor levels), and no one cares.
They pretend to listen to you carefully, but nothing will change during last 2 years. Lots of members are considering to leave this club, or already did.
I have tried to contact the general manager of Pro club several times, but the staff members don’t allow me yet.

Honestly, I am so sorry for such a great capabilities that are wasting, and so unhappy about all these years. 😔😔😔

PS:
The behavior of the regular employees are generally perfect, and only the supervisor, or department managers are awful 😣

Joined last week and haven't regretted it yet. Reviews saying the place is not clean are not what I've experienced. I see staff all over picking up towels and keeping things well taken care of.

Jennifer gave me an excellent and informative tour, she didn't rush me and answered all my questions. I joined right away and would recommend it to anyone.

The price is more than worth it for what you get - you will not find another gym and total gym and health club experience like this anywhere else in Bellevue!

This is the best gym in Redmond + Seattle. They have plenty of every equipment so you hardly have to wait even in peak hours. The lighting used to be dull but recently they've changed all flooring and lights so it looks bright nice and clean. Almost all equipment is new. Once you go here every other gym will look small/crappy/dirty.
People feel its pricey but orange theory costs almost the same amount and they have much limited timings and require booking and dont even have hand towels. Proclub has lot of free group fitness classes, a super big weight floor and cardio room, separate hot tubs and steam rooms and free inbody tests.
My own complaint is the deep pool is always reserved for their paid programs from 3 pm to 9 pm. They can allow it for regular members atleast 2 days a week. Also they should allow payment freeze in case we go for a vacation.

This gym has a depressing vibe. The cardio rooms on the second floor where the stairmaster is so cold that your body hurts. It’s freezing. There’s no natural light. There’s carpet where cardio machines are, think about how dirty it is taking all the sweat.

The staff that works in the family room locker and the women locker room named Rose is very rude. There are customers there wearing masks, reading books and carrying aromatherapy basket into the sauna room, so at first I thought it was ok. Then the staff named Rose was very rude to me about it. She treated me like I was criminal, whereas other customers are allowed to break these rules. There is a nice polite way to inform people about the rules. I reported this to the manager but she still displays rude mannerisms, retaliation and hostility whenever I saw her after I had reported her. No saying hello or saying excuse me, just came charging at you, gave orders with hostility, treating you like a criminal. My kid forgot his backpack in the family locker room around 6:20PM on Thursday January 30th. The staff that worked that shift did not turn it in at the lost and found office. This is the second time we forgot stuff at the locker room and they were not turned in.

After moving to the East Side from California, I toured both Bellevue Club and Pro Club, and Pro Club stood out because of the kind and welcoming staff. They also offer a ton of amenities, including classes (included with membership except Pilates), a spa/salon, IV treatments, and more.

Jennifer Kraker gave me an incredible tour that made me want to join immediately, and Andrew made the consultation seamless, helping me feel right at home, I hope every new member gets to meet him. He also guided me through an InBody assessment and paired me with the perfect trainer. Shoutout to trainers Mac and Don, who are excellent!

Tennis classes are always full and courts cannot be booked without a tennis membership, but everything else has been exceptional. I’ve included a picture of the smoothie calorie chart for reference—there are great options to try! Pink are my personal favorites, green are crowd favorites.

Going downhill. Has become increasingly expensive, and I suspect much of that increase is being driven by amenities and features that are not being used by a majority of customers. Sadly, cleanliness has declined, things break down more frequently than they should, and policies are in place that seem arbitrary and random at times. I have been a member for over 10 years, and until about two years ago, I would’ve given this club top marks. But sadly, things have changed for the worse.

My family joined ProClub a year ago, right before Bay Club took over. During this year, there have been two major price hikes, including paying for membership for our 4 & 6 year old children. The cleanliness of the club has notably declined with Bay Club, the towel bins do not get emptied, the towels do not get replenished in the locker rooms, the towels on machines are soggy wet, and the workout rooms and locker rooms are just gross. They have added a 2.5% charge to use your credit card for any services or membership dues, and also added a 3% fee for salon and spa front desk staff. I have been providing feedback through the app with no response. With the notice that prices are dramatically increasing in January (additional $50 / month for my family), I felt compelled to warn people about the drastic decline in luxury since Bay Club took over.

When Bay Club took over the Pro Club earlier this year, I was cautiously optimistic. Unfortunately, their management has been nothing short of disappointing. In less than a year, membership dues have increased twice, yet the quality of the facility has plummeted.

The once-pristine club is now consistently dirty, and the availability of clean towels—a basic amenity—has become hit or miss. For an organization that claims to be “investing” in the member experience, the reality on the ground tells a very different story.

Bay Club’s justifications for these price hikes—“innovative programming,” “club renovations,” and “adapting to market conditions”—feel hollow when you’re met with dirty facilities and declining service standards. Based on their decision to increase prices multiple times within the same year, I anticipate this will become an ongoing trend, leaving members to pay more and more for less and less.

It’s clear that Bay Club prioritizes profits over members, and their lack of attention to basic cleanliness and amenities is unacceptable for a premium club. Unless they take immediate steps to improve, I can’t recommend this facility to anyone looking for a high-quality health club experience.

This is a great gym/ spa! Spending a day here is a real treat. They recently got bought out by a big corporation, so they added massage chairs, which was brilliant, but they cut corners with their workers, which I don't agree with.
Workers make the location. I think having fewer employees paid better, but having more than one job works better than not letting workers get a raise.
I'm writing this post to let them know there are so many better ways to cut corners and make money, for example, putting face masks, quality moisturizers, foot scrubs and other spa items for purchase in a vending machine in the locker rooms would be very profitable. I brought my own from Sephora, but if they had it at the location, I would have spent on that even if it was slightly more expensive.
This would make it an even more luxurious spa day, which would add to their revenue. While maintaining moral
But overall, the best gym I've been to!

You expect such a sports club would clean floors DAYLY at the gym where people sweating, spitting, walking bare feet, laying on the ground to do stretches, etc. basketball court where kids are playing and eating on the ground and later people playing basketball! Sticky mirrors with fingerprints that are there for months! But no, here they have spot vacuumers who vacuum hear ant there at the gym downstairs and "professional towel folders". No janitors who would MOP WITH DESINFECTING SOAP a GYM FLOOR DSYLY! Bathrooms are also disgusting! I have ben chasing managers, sending pictures, pointing, asking front desk for over a year with zero changes! At this point I did submitted a complaint at the Health Department.

12/1 edit: The floor actually is getting better over time, and someone appears to have gone through and scuffed the gloss off of the new deadlift platforms, so they're largely usable now. Worth a few stars back.

I've been lifting in the free weights area here for five years now. Would have been an easy five-star rating up until now, but the recent renovations have been a travesty. Regular operations have been severely disrupted for months on the promise that the free weights area would be new and improved, and now that the renovations are essentially finished, I can say that it's been a large expenditure of time and money for a sharp downgrade in quality.
- Most notably, the floor was great before and has been replaced with something far too slippery. I can't bench properly without putting plates on the floor to leg drive against, and squatting heavy now feels unsafe.
- Eight perfectly good full racks have been removed and replaced with half racks. On the bright side, there are more of them now. Unfortunately, the squat racks in the side room have pull-up bars between them and you may find yourself squatting with someone doing pull-ups about 1ft from the end of your barbell, and the squat racks in the main room...
- Three perfectly adequate deadlift platforms have been replaced with platforms so slippery that I can pivot my feet freely with my shoes flat on the platform. And unfortunately, the dozen or so brand new squat racks in the main room each have one of these platforms underfoot, so squatting is going to be hazardous in one way or another no matter which rack you use. Without exaggeration, we'd be much better off if the new deadlift platforms were simply removed altogether; compared to the platforms, the floor is clearly superior for both deadlifting and squatting.
- And for whatever silly reason, they've thrown out a bunch of safety-less benches and replaced them with benches that not only still don't have safeties, but also have fewer hooks available, so your arms had better be within a fairly narrow range of lengths and you'd better get used to wrenching your shoulders when you unrack. When I heard that they were upgrading the equipment, the very first thing I thought of was getting more benches with safeties. Months later, I suppose I'm just grateful that they kept the three original benches that do have safeties (and re-upholstered them, thank you for that).

I give the renovations a little credit. The new dumbbells are nice, some of the new machines are nice, and it made sense to take out some of the cardio equipment for more free weights, as we already had three huge rooms dedicated to cardio. Unfortunately, making the three major barbell compounds untenable really defeats the purpose of a free weights area.

This is just terrible in both practice and principle. I can't believe actual time and money was spent actively making the gym worse.

EDIT: I did reach out to the VP of fitness. The claim is that the floor and deadlift platforms will scuff up and be less slick within a few weeks, and if not, they're going to look into other solutions. I'm skeptical.

Time for an updated review. They upgraded the downstairs workout area. It's more open and cleaner looking. Locker rooms are the same. The hot tubs in the locker room need a good cleaning. Since my last review they have increased their prices per person and are now charging for kids 0-9 at $30 a month per kid. Before you would just need to pay for your spouse and the kids were free. In order to cancel you have to write into the gym and you can't leave until the end of the year. Again my stance stays the same. Overpriced for what you get. If cold brew was free then maybe I would change my mind. Also they give you one guest free entry but you have to go through a tour of the place and it's not tied to your account but a piece of paper. So if you lose it youre sol.

The equipment settled in during this rennovation (which, was done haphazardouly) feels like it was selected by some executives who want to make their gym look pretty and expensive, and not by people who actually lift or exercise.

Here are some of the problems with the new squat racks compared to the previous ones:

1. No longer have 5 or 2.5 lb plates.. go steal them from the bench presses now which are on the other side of the gym.

2. The height is awkward for not just my height but most heights. It is either too high and about to fall off my shoulder or way too low and I have to use a lot of energy squatting it up to derack.

3. The J-Hooks are as wide as the bar so there is a few cm of clearance, they also have a tall hook so it's possible to hit the hook when trying to rack the barbell and either cause you to miss or bounce back against the hook

4. Do not have places to sit your phone, water bottle, etc. on

5. The flooring is slippery

6. The safeties are EXTREMELY heavy and hard to adjust, all of the weight is in the pin which means they want to fall over on themselves. Cool. Oh yeah, the clips also dont fit around the ends of the safeties anymore.

I can think of more but you get the point. Sure, I'm complaining about the squat racks, but I can do the same for the new benches. I cannot even fit my bottom on those benches they are so skinny. The quantity sure is nice but the quality leaves much to be desired. They aren't particularly like, awful, but they are indeed a big downgrade. Definitely not something I would pay this gym premium for when cheap gyms provide much better equipment. It would have been wise for them to showcase 1 piece of various equipment options in the gym first and have members vote on what they wanted. They have the money for that, but I'm sure it did not cross their minds at all.

This place has been consistently downgrading itself over 4 yrs even before Bay Club and this is my final straw. At least they did it towards the end of the year so I only have to deal with this obnoxious equipment for 2 months until I can cancel my Microsoft benefit.

Ciao!

I agree with most of the negative reviews about the decline in the cleanliness, services, and quality of Pro Club, now Bay Club. In addition, the dues continually go up. In fact, they're planning another rate hike in January of 2025.

The women's showers, sauna, and hot tub areas are continually full of hair. I've mentioned this to the concierge on several occaisions. Workers collect towels but the clearning is minimal - so different from what it used to be when I first joined the club in the early 2000's, when someone was always cleaning the floors and other surfaces in the locker room.

Management: Please don't thank me for my feedback, then ask me to arrange to meet with you one on one about this. This is my feedback. There is a lot of feedback in this forum for you to act upon. With so many people complaining about the same things, it's a big clue. We've already taken our time to provide feedback. Now you can take action, or face a decline in membership.

I am so disgusted by this place. I regret signing up with them at the beginning of the year- and I cancelled membership in August. They seem to have become a money-grabbing, filthy establishment now that Bayclub took over. They purposely create extra fees and charges in ways that you won't know what you owe or when you do, e.g. if you do aquatics, and how you are being charged. It's VERY sketch. They told me on the phone (when I could still reach some form of customer service) that I was paid up for my membership but then charged me for a whole extra month! I wasn't there that entire month, but they don't care why- they just want your $. There was no warning or reminder to pay that bill in email. They just took the $ out via our credit card. Okay...But then they added an extra late fee because they said they couldn’t take it out via credit card (which they clearly had done!)

The worst part is that I contacted the staff MULTIPLE times to discuss my bill, with multiple promises from the front desk that I would be receiving a call back. Yet still, after WEEKS, they still haven’t returned any of my calls. Because- there is no customer service there anymore. We had to go through credit card dispute because the management simply won’t be bothered to respond. This is what this business has become- poorly run and lacking the customer service or support they had prior. So, people who are considering joining this gym... be forewarned!!!

Additionally, I witnessed the gym become - dirty, women’s steam and sauna areas a bit yucky, 1/2 cleaning staff let go, and there is a lot of wear and tear there (carpets, walls, equipment), despite the areas they are choosing to remodel for massage beds and whatnot. It's a lot of gloss with zero substance. Most of us don't care about your massage beds and Bayclub posters. We are looking for access to clean, useable, well-maintained equipment in a spacious facility/ nice atmosphere. Which this place lacks now. And, for this price, we also would want staff to be available and to have some regard for customers. But that is no longer the case.

There are a few things here not found at other gyms, like the area the little kids can play (I believe that's still there), a coffee shop, and the sheer amount of treadmills. Just understand that Bayclub upped the fees a ton this year, and provides subpar quality to what they offered prior. When I compare with other gyms in the area, I feel that other gyms that cost way less have better relationships with their members, and offer cleaner more breathable spaces with a much better atmosphere. And after the way they've failed to respond to any of my emails or calls, I've no doubt the customer service is better at literally any other gym.

To conclude, Proclub now Bay club is super sketchy, not worth it, and like car salesmen they will take whatever nasty shortcuts they can to make a profit, even at the cost of losing members...they really don't care. And I would definitely never recommend them to anyone.

First pizza i had from them was great! Appropriate size, amount of ingredients etc…. Well today i ordered a pizza of a different variety and they served me this “pizza” that is smaller than a microwave pizza. (Literally half the size of the last one) i thought they mistakenly sold me a “children's size” pizza but according to the kind gentleman who informed me up front apparently if i order a BBQ style pizza it is smaller than the normal pizza. I was not informed before purchasing of this size indifference (it is not even present on the menu that sizes differ) and this pizza costed me 15$ 😑 it should be worth my hard earned money that i work for. I am also employed at that facility and I was not sustained by this “snack sized pizza” i will definitely not purchase pizza from this bistro again due to the cost and size… it tastes great! But is not sustainable for the price. In short.

Downgrading my rating from several years ago from 5 stars to 1. I’ve been a member of the club on and off for almost 25 years. PRO Club’s value and reputation as a top tier elite health club has rapidly declined ever since it was acquired by BayClub. Many of the staff seem to be new and inexperienced, the cleanliness has degraded substantially and prices continue to climb despite obvious cuts to staff, services and investments to improve the member experience. I sincerely hope the PRO Club can turn the corner and improve as they stand to lose a substantial number of their long term members if this continues.

If you are planning to use the aquatics center you’re better off using a puddle of rain water on the street! the club closed off the main pools for classes, in the past 2 months making them completely inaccessible to members. Relegating everyone to the smaller pools and creating a literal line of people cramped to a singular pool waiting for turns. The center also has completely turned off the temperature control giving pools a nice iced feeling which I can only imagine is a cost saving measure considering the general decline in service and all of this for the low low price of $220 a month🥳 it’s my understanding the club was bought over and that’s why the quality of the club and care towards member have dropped so significantly lately.

This is a review for the spa/cosmetics department. In paper, they offer a “BRIDAL BEAUTY” package but they are severely understaffed/disorganized to make it a reliable service.

The salon canceled on my makeup appointment on THE DAY OF my wedding despite it being a “bridal” package and being pre-paid and tried to pretend as if this was no big deal at all to leave someone without options on their wedding day. Thankfully I had some trusted friends and backups to support and work with me but wanted to warn others so they are not put in similar positions. I can’t believe that in a full fledged salon they didn’t have one extra hand to apply a minimal makeup that would have taken them 30mins or max 1hr.

I want to clarify that this is not about individuals - I don’t know the exact details but can understand that emergencies happen - but rather for the salon as a whole as they should be equipped to provide suitable replacements if they are offering “bridal” packages.

Since Bay Club took over ProClub they have been boiling the frog (so to speak). I will sincerely recommend some other place if you expect a club like experience.

If you pay attention you can see behind the superficial shifts (new paint on the hallways and glossy images of their clubs on the West coast), their service levels are dropping and hidden charges going up.

The pictures below are a regular sight before Sat 10:00 AM All Levels Yoga class. We need to literally balance a new towel after class in a pile that nobody bothers about. I didn’t take pictures of the men’s bathroom (not that they have anyone to help or enforce the policies anymore). Exhausts in showers are rusted and something fuzzy growing on them.

Our 1:1 fitness training sessions that costs over a $100 dollars were reduce silently to 50 mins, without informing the members and lay but not the least now we need to pay “service fees” on monthly membership charges to the credit card.

Asking members to use a new attendance app, paint on the walls is useless if you are not taking care of the basics. I loved their yoga instructor. After months of deliberation we decided to cancel our family membership. It’s not worth the money we pay them anymore.

We joined this gym several years ago and our family really enjoyed all the amenities and activities for kids. At the time, it seemed like a great deal...until Bay Club acquired Pro Club. Since then, our membership increased 46%!!! But none of the amenities got any better. In fact, they started charging a fee for our kids to use the gym (who are 4 and 7 btw). If you are going to charge me for using the kids zone, then I expect this amenity to be available at my convenience. But instead, kid zone is closed for 2 hours during the most convenient time to drop them off.

Worst of all, is the new rate, which continues to climb. The gym now charges a high premium, but the atmosphere certainly doesn't feel premium. Most of the staff seem to be in their own world or just act like they don't care. This isn't because they are being pretentious. It's simply that the staff is mostly young teens.

TLDR, what the club offers is not worth $500/mo for a family of 4. You are now charged for kids zone, which has limited hours. They gym itself is grossly outdated and the staff is cold.

I highly appreciate ProClub for their group activities, clean gym, and excellent fitness classes, as they usually meet advertising expectations. However, I was disappointed with the summer camp program for the STEAM and sports age groups (4-6 years). The curriculum provided does not align with what was advertised, featuring minimal STEAM activities and only basic crafts like making paper boat etc. I do not recommend this summer camp, especially since they allow parents to withdraw their kids mid-summer instead of ensuring proper STEAM activities are implemented. I suggest not labeling this program as STEAM for that age group if it won't be followed, as it would help parents make informed decisions during enrollment.

Bay Club (majority owned by private equity) purchased Pro Club and is doing standard tactics to squeeze it; cutting staff, raising prices, etc. Quality has gone down while prices have gone up. Look elsewhere, it no longer makes sense to be a member here.

Pro Club charged $3 for using credit cards for membership, the new owner Bay club charges 2.5%.

This is a mark of a money grubbing Evil Corporation.

I cancelled my membership and suggest other do the same.

I’ve chosen my company’s perks to be a membership in 2024, I love Pilates and I purchased the Pilates 16 sessions package in April for $320+tax which was a good deal. After I used 5 sessions, I found the booking system has changed and I was not able to book classe using my package balance. I went to the front desk and informed the new management Bay club won’t sell package anymore. Ok, that’s fine. But they won’t even let me use my existing package balance which I already paid. They said they will refund me, but hey, I never experienced any merchandise FORCED consumer to RETURN what purchased without they are willing to return. And the refund process went for a month. This process really upset me and I think it totally violating consumers’ right. I won’t choose here next year. NEVER EVER!

Pros:
Clean and spacious gyms and pools.
Spa, gym, med spa, physiotherapy all in one.

Cons:
Not so clean locker rooms.
Customer service and general curiousness of staff is lacking in almost all areas.

I’m used to most places making everything as easy and seamless as possible. So I was quite surprised that a place within the premium price range wouldn’t be willing to take a few extra steps to keep members content. The Bellevue Club is just a little bit more costly but the service was much better so if money isn’t an issue, I would def recommend it over PRO.

Just came back to this location after a 3 month break to restart my membership and was told they didn’t have crew from membership so I couldn’t start my membership and the crew is only here during regular business hours not the gyms hours which sucks considering I go to the gym after work. I tried asking if they have any other options i.e. email, phone, etc. but was told there are no other options. I was in talks with a rep today and they never mentioned that I couldn’t sign up after 6. It’s just another example of how they will not try to meet members at a middle ground.

I did the executive locker room upgrade for a few months so I was paying about $430 a month. The executive locker rooms are kept clean which is great but that should be the standard in the regular locker rooms. They have nice infrared lounge chairs, good hair products, and plush towels. But at the end of the day, not worth paying over $400 total per month.

Great place so far but the price has went up and quality has come down since the Bay Club purchase.

There are un communicated policy changes such as the court booking system.

Still enjoy the place, but concerned with the direction it is heading.

This is a world class club but I am disappointed at how much they have raised their dues in a matter of months. Hence changing my rating from five stars to three stars. This is how the dues have been rising for single health club membership:

Date Dues
10/02/2015 164.52
09/02/2016 169.18
10/03/2017 174.52
09/05/2018 179.93
10/03/2019 185.35
11/04/2021 209.19
11/09/2022 230.11
11/06/2023 241.12
06/01/2024 247.95

Note the steep rises after COVID pandemic. COVID is over but we are stuck with high dues.

I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude for the outstanding assistance I received from one of your employees, Trish, at Pro Club Bellevue. Yesterday, I misplaced my AirPods in a white towel that ended up in the laundry room, and I was feeling quite distressed about it. Trish went above and beyond to help me locate them, demonstrating remarkable dedication and responsibility.

Her diligent efforts not only helped me retrieve my AirPods but also left a lasting impression on me about the quality of service provided at Pro Club. It is employees like Trish who make a significant difference in customer experience and enhance the reputation of the facility.

In light of her exemplary service, I strongly believe that Trish deserves recognition. Whether it be through a raise or a promotion, acknowledging her hard work and commitment would not only reward her but also inspire other employees to strive for similar excellence.

Thank you, Trish, for your outstanding support!

Update: 6/13:: singles can be played up to 90 minutes and ball machine up to an hour. What’s been difficult is being able to play with different variety of people because of the new 4 names to a court rule. You get stuck having to play in the same rotation with same people. I suspect they may change this rule too but I already am leaving. Cost changes weren’t worth staying. Courts are still dirty for $400 a month fees.
…..,

Okay, now that this club got bought, don’t sign up., particularly for tennis. They fired their night shift crew after raising my rates for June, (which I only was a member a few months), and guess what. You might as well be thinking the hard courts were moving to fuzzy ball fuzz courts, they have been so aweful. Then, they updated our court times. You only get to use the ball machine for 30 minutes.. used to be 45. You used to be able to play singles for 75 minutes, now it’s an hour.

Put your name on other tennis court lists cause this place went downhill fast.. I’ve already put my name on a new club. Thanks Pro club for selling out and cheapening the experience while raising our fees with this new buy out.

Oh, the hair in the showers is indeed gross.

2024 update : 2 star ( from previous 5 star)

The change in management has affected Pro club severely. New management is so much about profits, they have drastically reduced the staff for cleaning the spa. Price of services have increased, they have removed the rewards program and on top of that they even charge additional 2% transaction charge when you pay with credit card!! Seriously? Who does that in 2024? The greatness of Pro club is slowly fading away. Hope the new management recognizes this and addresses it fast!

Previous review:

Great place to work out and they keep it pretty clean. Unfortunately there is no elevator access that can get you to all the amenities and it is a must for me. There is an elevator for certain areas but you need a staff to take you as it is the employee elevator. Sad they didn’t focus on this aspect as part of their recent renovation.

BayClub didn't waste time and started ruining good place. Jacked up prices by 20%+ without adding absolutely anything. Reduced cleaning crews so now locker rooms and tennis courts are nasty. Forced everyone to a new garbage app. Charging additional 2.5% for using credit cards?!? If you’re looking to sign up, don’t.

They now require an annoying app to be able to enter. Used to be a keychain with a barcode on it. And the new terms require you to sign a binding arbitration agreement. Neither of these are customer friendly moves.

Since the BayClub has purchased the pro club we’ve had nothing but issues. Now we have to play for any of the classes that were free. To top it off our monthly rate increased over $100 a month.

Seems like they are trying to make it more exclusive by charging for everything while cutting down the time offered. For a family of 6 we are now paying over $480 a month and that’s without tennis and all the other additional charges they have created.

While all that is frustrating it’s within their rights. What concerns me the most is I am on contract with pro club at a set rate. Now bayclub is attempting to break that contract so they can charge us more while we still have multiple months left on our contract. This to me seems very illegal. Also it’s just really bad business practice.

what is going on?

It has been a fantastic year, but today I arrived for my child's weekly classes and the receptionist *rudely* informed me that I could not check in without an app as if it was obvious to the world. I was unaware of this policy change, as I had not received any prior notice. I kindly requested an exception and was able to check in.

However, the app is not user-friendly. It frequently fails to load, requiring multiple attempts to force quit and reload. It appears that the app is poorly designed and not optimized. It loads slowly and is inconvenient to use. Apparently, the app and a smartphone are now mandatory for check-in.

While I understand the need for digital solutions, I find it inconvenient to carry my phone during my fitness visits. It seems that the club's policy may prevent entry without the app, which includes the time-consuming process of loading a QR code.. that like ticketmaster is apparently timed! Lol what?.

If the staff's attitude remains impolite, our family may reconsider our membership at Pro Club. We have enjoyed the past year, but we cannot tolerate unnecessary inconveniences and rudeness.

I have been a member of ProClub for years, but my experience has drastically declined since it was bought by BayClub. Here’s a rundown of the issues I’ve faced:

Increased Rates: In June, the membership rates were increased without any noticeable improvements in facilities or services. This hike feels completely unjustified.

Terrible Court Reservation System: The new court reservation policy is a nightmare. Two people can only book for one hour, and you need to provide four names to book a court for doubles. Additionally, you can only make one reservation 72 hours in advance. This makes it impossible for us to play a flex match. Is it even possible to play a proper match within an hour? The current system is incredibly inconvenient.

Lack of Communication: The new reservation rules were implemented without any prior communication to members. This sudden change has caused a lot of confusion and frustration among regular users.

Dirty Courts: The condition of the courts has deteriorated significantly. They are often dirty and poorly maintained, which is unacceptable for the rates we are paying.

Terrible BayClub App: The new BayClub app is terrible, with all kinds of errors. The rules in the app don’t even align with their official guidelines, adding to the confusion and frustration.

Overall, the changes implemented by BayClub have made what used to be an excellent club into a frustrating and disappointing experience. I sincerely hope they address these issues soon, but until then, I cannot recommend ProClub under its current management.

worst club ever!!!!!!! Please don't join this new proclub. what a nightmare, frustrating, confusing.

I am very very disappointed with my recent experience at Pro Club. I have been a loyal member for over a year --- love the spacious cardio room and swimming pools, but I feel like the security and cleanliness of the locker room are not up to the standards.
A few months ago, I had my jacket stolen from the hangers in women's locker room. I reported it to the staff, but they did not seem to care ... Also emails to the manager never got a response.
Today, I lost my slippers: I left them under the bench, and when I came back after my workout, they were gone. This is unacceptable and frustrating. I do not feel safe or comfortable leaving my belongings in the locker room. I understand that leaving personal items unlocked is risky. But then why do you offer these hangers? I was so stressful when taking the shower today, worrying about my sneakers under the bench. I don't want to walk back to my car in bare foot. :(
I don't understand how this could happen in a $$$ gym.

While the gym itself is great, the gym nickel and dimes for everything, their billing and pricing is very obscure, and there are some cleanliness issues which need to be addressed (particularly in the family locker rooms, which probably get the most use out of any of the spaces).
Regarding billing issues pricing, it is difficult to know what things cost, and to get answers or escalate issues to gym management. For example, group swim lessons fees are not listed anywhere on their website, and are very inconsistent (the change for each session).
And with private lessons it gets even more shady; I was looking to verify pricing for private swim lessons that I had taken, and was given 3 different prices for 1/2 hour lessons with my instructor, from the front desk, concierge desk, and swim office (none of these matched what I actually was charged on my credit card). If you decide to be a member of this gym you will certainly enjoy the gym itself but be very vigilant of your credit card charges, because they will overcharge you every chance they get.

Great Place for sure but Hope has indoor golf facility.

This is obviously top-notch facility but wonder why not planning to have golf related activities. I see quite number of racket ball courts which are not used that much but it will be great opportunity for golf indoor lesson, practice, indoor league and best part will be golf physio with personal trainers. Hope this message deliver to management for future consideration.

Cancelling my membership after 8 years of struggling to deal with the lack of hygiene and cleanliness; towels all over the floor; sweaty men walking directly into the whirlpool from the steam sauna; and the place taken over by kids running around. I’m tired of these people treating this place like their own living room yelling and talking at a high volume, totally disregard for anyone else. Lastly, the staff refuse to do anything about it.

I am quitting this club for a few reasons:
1. A few dead spots for cellphone and WIFI is not stable or fast enough, so I feel stuck when taking my kids for a swim lesson or other activity.
2. Too many "funny" rules, such as "no cellphone use in the locker room". I got lectured by a janitor when I am texting my wife. "Kids cannot wait besides the gym area", even I am just a few feet away trying to finish my weekend gym time, etc.
3. One-way membership management: Once you join, you cannot pause or cancel due to yearly contact from my employer contract. More absurd thing, I added my wife to the plan with additional $120 a month, but I cannot remove her until end of the year. Other than those, I have run into different account issues through a year. I have been with a dozen of different gyms over decades, but with this gym, I exchanged more emails than all the others combined.
4. Unprofessional gym management: I noticed some folks were using weight bar without clamping their weights, which is definitely not safe for themselves, even more dangerous to others around them. One time, I remind gym workers about this, they looked and said: "I know him, he should be fine". That is just a tragedy waiting to happen.

Adding on Yuan Tian (4 months ago)…

My wife joined in January ‘23 as MSFT benefit, so I joined too taking advantage of a very good discount ($120/month instead of $200/month). All well for a couple of months, then my working situation changed having to travel more intensively, not being able to join this gym on regular basis.
I knew the subscription is for 1 year, but I hoped in some flexibility. I called asking to speak with the membership office, someone told me to send an email, which I did, receiving an automated answer saying that “due to the number of emails received, answers might be delayed”. I never received any answer to my 1st and subsequent emails, not easy to call if I am traveling a lot.
$120/month has been charged regularly to my credit card, I called yesterday (after last $120 charge) asking how to be sure my subscription doesn’t get automatically renewed next year, I have been told if the main subscriber (my wife) will not renew (SHE WON’T!), I will not be renewed too. Despite the associate at membership office was kind, it always looks they have something better to do than listen to their clients.
ProClub pretends to be the most fancy gym east of lake Washington for rich people earning 6+ figures (to be seen just going in & out or maybe just hanging around, plenty of those in the lobby…), but it’s just a total scam (unfortunately 0 * is not possible…)

This place has everything you could ever want or need in a fitness facility.

Free weights, nautilus, more cardio equipment choices than you can imagine, tennis, Pilates, squash….I could go on.

I love the Pilates instructors. This is my go to place for physical therapy. Relaxing place to get my eyebrows waxed - critical given the circumstances.

The service is excellent. The place is clean. Worth the price.
