The coach/trainer was so sweet!! I love the blue light/dim vibes of the room and I love that the trainer had already set out the equipment we needed for us with our name tag!! Will be back

I’ve been going to this studio for 8 years and they are consistently and reliably a great workout and community! I always come back to Pure Barre to work on my health goals. They have a wide variety of classes and once you pick up the rhythm of the workout you might just be addicted too 😊 love you PB SEA!

I visited this place a few times and liked it. But yesterday I was 2 min late for the noon class and the teacher didnt let me in because I was late. I was outside the door from 12:02 to 12:07 and eventually gave up and left. In the past when I took classes, they let people in if they were a few min late up to 5 min. They didnt treat me the same since I was 2 min late. I understand that they have a strict policy for being late but a white person being late and a non white person being late is treated differently here. For a white person, they come out of a class and open the door and speak to you as a person. For a non white person, they completely ignore you and are left locked out at the door. I will not be going back here again. Felt discouraged 😞
For the patrons, I encourage you to have same policy for everyone. Please don't treat your members differently. If someone is allowed to come late then others should not be punished for it.

Pure Barre is a great workout for folks who are motivated by class environments, teachers who cheer you on by name, and low impact workouts that never keep the same routine. I’ve tried being self-motivated with gym memberships but I found myself bored by my own workout routines and off-put by heavy equipment. In particular, PB helped me gain core and seat strength which relieved a lot of my chronic low back pain. Is this a place to build bulky muscles? Maybe if you only take their Define format, but that’s not the goal here. The goal is strength, balance and flexibility, which is helping me as my body changes throughout my 30s. The instructors at this studio are very kind, community-oriented, and motivational. It’s well worth the investment to my health, and I’m happy to be celebrating two years as an unlimited member soon. I note negative reviews are regarding their late policy, but come on, we are all adults. Just be on time, and it’s not an issue. I appreciate that they lock the doors during class — I always feel safe in the studio and being undisturbed during my class allows me to focus fully on my workout.

The teacher is fantastic – so knowledgeable, encouraging, and passionate about helping everyone succeed. All the staff are incredibly friendly, welcoming, which really creates a great atmosphere. Every time I take a class, I leave feeling not only physically energized but mentally happy as well. It's such a comfortable environment where I can focus on both my body and mind.

Very surprising how quickly you feel the burn. I do OrangeTheory 3x per week and have been doing it for years. But this targets completely different muscles and does it in such an efficient strengthening class. Also, the staff in the Capitol Hill location are nice and the customer service has been great.

I was 2 MINUTES LATE FOR A 9:30 class. I arrived at 9:32 (standing at the door) and it was locked I tried to knock and the instructor said no with her head from inside. This is so embarrassing and frustrating. This studio don’t have a tolerance of 5 min.
Don’t waste your time coming here.

I was 2 min late today for my 9:30 class. A person got there exactly 9:30 and the door was locked. This is so frustrating, every other place have a 5 min tolerance. And I was not even 5 min late, I was 2 MINUTES. I lost 40 dollars and my workout morning. NEVER COMING BACK To THIS PLACE

Was only 5 minutes late and the receptionist said I wasn’t allowed to join the class. My friend was taking the class and we planned to take it together - I asked if I could go in to let my friend know I’m here but won’t be able to join per what I was told; the receptionist said I could not go in to let my friend know.
She also said I couldn’t wait inside and had to stand outside of the studio and wait. The surrounding outside area is not the best, a bit sketchy, and it was a chilly cold day. I stood outside for 50minutes in the cold waiting for my friend to finish the class.
Disappointing how they treat women looking for a workout and positive wellness. after really trying to get there on time after work (I ran/power walked), it was disappointing to be treated and rejected like that
Never coming back here after this bad experience

I used to HATE working out and was super intimidated by regular gyms. Im so glad I started taking these classes. The instructors are very nice and helpful. Very welcoming atmosphere. The hour goes by quickly.
There was a little bit of a learning curve when I first started because ive never done yoga or pilates. It's also probably not for people looking to lose weight quickly or get big "gains"
BUT I highly recommend for people that need a comfortable way to stay in shape and build healthy habits, or for people that have "gym anxiety". It has pretty much eliminated my chronic back pain, I feel great, I'm stronger, more toned, and more in tune with my body. I've gone to the Queen Anne location and the Cap Hill one and both are A+

Although every single instructor is amazing, I would not recommend these classes if you are looking to gain flexibility and get toned, and specifically not trying to lose weight. At the end of each class my muscles were tight and burning and I had lost 11 lbs in 1 month (I’m already pretty thin). I couldn’t participate in the classes with a mask and I would have to pull my mask down every 5 minutes because I couldn’t breathe (I’ve taken masked yoga and Pilates classes without any issue). Their classic is the most basic class yet it’s not beginner friendly in my opinion. I asked to cancel my membership and I was told I’d have to pay for the following month and then cancel. I know this class isn’t a good fit for me, or better yet, I’m not cut out for this class so it didn’t make sense to me that I’d have to pay for another month. At the point where I asked to postpone the membership instead (to possibly get in touch with a nutritionist figuring I’m taking in too little calories for these workouts and overall feeling exhausted) I was told that I could not unless I pay for an additional month. So in summary, I’d have to pay for the month that I did not use, pay for the following month that I didn’t know if I was in shape enough for, and then an additional month on top of that to push my unused passes into another month, all for classes I can’t physically tolerate. I’ve just never had a health based organization charge you for something that’s not cut out for you. As a healthcare professional who works 4 12 hour night shifts and does yoga and takes walks daily, I tried my best to commit to this program (if tried a mask, a fan, protein bars/shakes, energy drinks) but I know all programs aren’t appropriate for everyone. The policy just seems less in favor of supporting someone’s health goals and more in favor of taking your money.
To add, I had gone through one month of classes and had given them 30 days notice that I wanted to downgrade the next month and cancel after that, yet they say the first month doesn’t count when you downgrade which was not made clear. If I got stronger, fixed my caloric intake and maybe felt like I could come back, I still wouldn’t because it’s important to me that an institution is actually concerned with you reaching your health goals.

The people were super nice the class was fine. This isn’t my type of workout so won’t go back and they are slightly aggressive in selling when you leave for free trial class

The classes are difficult, but the time goes quickly. The teachers are always helpful and friendly and the space is always clean. Parking can be difficult, so I'd recommend giving yourself some extra time to circle the block a couple times.
