Pure Barre Kirkland & Bellevue (Mill Creek too) have the best coaches and community. Owner, Katie Wallis, has grown an amazing community and culture that just builds great habits, positive reinforcement, and the mental toughness needed to handle our days. The coaches at Pure Barre have changed my life for the better in every way and I'm so grateful to each and every one of them and the role they have played on my journey with Pure Barre. My body has transformed into something I'm really proud of and I'm able to sustain. I'm so grateful for the self-esteem tools that the Pure Barre team have helped me cultivate. Big thank you to every coach there. You've made my life better, I'm grateful for you all.

I’ve been doing Barre for 8 months now and my body feels much stronger. My back and knee pain also improved so much!
I love Pure Barre because the instructors are amazing. They will keep an eye on everyone during class and correct your posture when needed.
The folks who attend classes are also awesome! I’ve made friends and am actually excited to go workout!

Not for people with injuries!

I’m genuinely shocked at how unwilling this fitness studio is to accommodate people with even basic physical needs. I was not allowed to use a simple knee mat—something that should be standard for anyone, injured or not. I wasn't allowed to use my own tiny mat or one of their good ones. That’s not just inflexible, it’s unsafe.

The management was cold, unempathetic, and completely dismissive of any concerns I raised. No effort to help, no alternatives offered. This place prioritizes control over care.

To make things worse, they had a previous review of mine removed. I’m posting this in hopes that Google allows real experiences to be shared—especially when a business puts its rules over people's well-being.

They may give you a thin grip mat, don't fall for that! After unmindfully using it , you WILL wake up with pain

Fitness studios are a dime a dozen—don’t waste your time here!

Motivating and challenging class with modification for different levels! I enjoy the very good teachers and how the intervals take you from one part of your workout to the next just when you think you can't do anymore. I try harder in this class than I ever would on my own and every time I walk out feeling a sense of accomplishment and strength. Fast-paced fun and challenging I keep it part of my workout rotation! I'm 60, fit and active.

Instructors are helpful. Classes are fine. Today was my 2nd week - I was late by 2 mins on the clock today, and was not allowed to enter, even though someone in my last class was allowed. I am an extremely on-time person by nature, but this singular event made me realize, that this is not the right environment for me. I am a full-time working mom, and I definitely need a far more supportive and humane environment. I definitely wouldn't recommend this to folks who have kids/responsibilities, work full time, or live 15 mins+ away from this location.

Average workout class, similar to competitors. High energy, nice studio and instructor. Pushy sales tactics afterwards was unpleasant and irritating - the other reviews say the same.

Pros:
Instructor: Katie, you were great and corrected my form when needed.

Front desk: Carolyn, you were friendly.

Cons:
Sales: Mindy, your sales tactics were too aggressive. I understand it’s your job to lock in customers but you were way too pushy and you made me uncomfortable. I left feeling incredibly annoyed with you and the studio.

Since joining Pure Barre Eastside in Kirkland, I’ve seen such a positive change in my strength, balance, and overall posture. I especially notice the difference in my other activities—like running and mountain biking. The core strength I've gained has made a huge impact, especially as I’m learning to jump on my mountain bike. Movements that once felt challenging now feel much more stable and controlled. I’m so grateful for the supportive instructors and encouraging atmosphere. Pure Barre Kirkland has become an essential part of my fitness journey!

Well trained staff. The classes aren't repetitive as each coach can interject different ways of strengthening an area. There are classes that specialize in improving special areas of the body such as Define for strength & power; Classic for a full body workout; Align for strength, flexibility & balance and Empower for cardio & strength. The coaches are kind and supportive and will help you adapt exercises to fit your needs. I am well over 70 and can participate in all classes. Thank you Pure Barre Kirkland.

I’m glad I took a chance on this Barre location amongst many other great options. I’ve been hopping around to try out places and Pure Barre won for me.

After the first free class, they sit down and explain membership conditions and how their system works. It felt transparent and I felt Zero pressure to continue to sign up. They have options for a one time class or 8 classes a month or unlimited etc.

What I appreciated more than other places (and this may be the individual teacher I had) was their accommodations. The teacher was incredibly kind and supportive for any modifications I needed for previous injuries. I felt encouraged to follow along but at my own pace. She helped push without being pushy and walked the fine line I feel instructors often cross into guilting you to try harder. And all of the classmates were kind and respectful.

The location also won for me: parking is easy next to a parking garage or in front of a massive lot behind the building. Overall very easy to find AND find parking.

I was hesitant because of other reviews, but they were very transparent in their arrival policy and 30 day notice for cancellation. They also mentioned several times to call ahead if you’ll be late and they will waive the cancellation fee, don’t cancel in the app if less than 4 hours before the scheduled class.

Thank you Pure Barre for the great introduction, see you again soon!

I took my first pure barre class 6 years ago and was instantly hooked. It’s an amazing whole body work out that builds not only your strength but also your confidence. Instructors are energizing and kind, supporting you to get the most out of every class. I quickly learned that Pure Barre is so much more than a work out, it’s an empowering and embracing community. It’s an honor to be a member of Pure Barre Kirkland.

I love PB Kirkland! The instructors are great and the studio staff is very friendly and helpful. There are four different class types which is awesome - it's nice to be able to have such a variety based on how your body feels or what kind of workout you want to do certain days. They are also constantly doing challenges or fun activities within the studio to bring even more benefits to their members. I've been doing PB on and off for almost 10 years and it's the best workout to see results and get strong. The instructors are also very helpful in suggesting modifications if you have an injury or a certain move does not feel good to you. Another great benefit is that the Kirkland and Bellevue studios are under the same ownership, so you can use both with your membership! Both locations are easy to get to with plenty of parking. I love to see familiar faces from both the instructors and other members. It's a fun, inclusive community!

I attend several different classes in Totem Lake (solidcore, MW boxing) and Redmond TC area - all of which are fantastic. I had passed by PB a few times and decided to sign up for their foundations class to see if it was something I was interested in adding to my rotation.

After scheduling with me they sent a questionnaire which included where I reside. Once I responded they promptly canceled my class as my county (Snohomish) was “ineligible” for the class. Pretty nuts considering none of the other studios in the area have an issue with me living in the Snohomish area (30 minutes away).

All in all I guess I consider the cancelation a blessing in disguise based on the other reviews below. To all my non-King County residents out there, they do not want our business.

To start, the instructors are amazing and I have no complaints with them! The actual classes are fun and challenging and went at a reasonable pace. That being said, their sales tactics are PREDATORY and once you get into a membership it’s a pain in the butt to stop that membership. I was constantly getting calls from them as soon as I even looked at a trial class online, they really push for membership after your trial class and lock you into that membership for 90 days, and if you want to cancel the membership you have to give a full 30 days notice before your next billing. My work schedule changed right after I signed up and I could no longer make it to classes, but was locked into the 90 day commitment which sucked but wasn’t terrible, but when I called to cancel two full weeks before my next billing period they told me I’d need to pay for the next full month ($160) and that there were no options to even change my last month of membership to a smaller plan. Ultimately frustrating with lots of rules that they don’t make clear when you’re signing up, and I would recommend just buying individual classes as opposed to a membership or choosing another studio for barre that can be a little more flexible when life comes up.

The class was tough but fun, however I won’t be going back for a couple reasons. I went in I told them I would need grippy socks. They only have small and medium which say it is up to an 8.5. I wear a size 11 shoe so I had to get a size too small. That wasn’t a huge deal, but when I went to purchase the socks they kept telling me my card wasn’t working. I knew for a fact that there was plenty of money in the account but I tried another card figuring it was just some issue with their machine. One class was ending and another was beginning so the lobby, which is extremely small, was very crowded. After trying the second card and having the same issue with another person at the counter this lady just announced loudly that I had insufficient funds. I was already a little bit tense as it was my first time, but that just put me over the edge. Turns out they were putting in the wrong zip code and when they asked me for my zip code and I gave them the correct one the purchase went through. But not before I was thoroughly humiliated in front of a bunch of strangers.

My instructor was kind, and the first person at the register was nice enough…like I said, the class was really fun but the other teacher at the front turned me off from the place.

I love the PB Kirkland because its my favorite workout place and all the teachers are super friendly. I love that they have a variety of workout classes as I’m more of a fan of low impact exercise. When I take the high intensity workouts they always have modifications for those that want to keep it low impact.

Just attended my first class here this week.
TL;DR: awesome workout and great staff, but the pushy pressure sales to sign up now and the sneaky hidden costs were a huge turn off.

Pros:
1.) Awesome and knowledgeable staff, from instructors to front desk.
2.) Friendly members and a fun environment in class.
3.) Having been a college athlete the workout/classes and instructors are phenomenal. You won’t be disappointed in the workout and benefits.
Cons:
1.) It felt high pressure sales, which is likely a result passed down on employees by the owner/management to sign up that day.
2.) Pressured to sign up that day or lose the ability to apply my fee I paid to the drop in class to my overall membership.
3.) Deceptive charges with fees, including being required to purchase $20 special socks — which of course they sell — before the class. Not sure how I managed to get through all my previous workouts, yoga and life without those special sticky socks.
4.) Comes off too pushy with their sales and charges, which isn’t even about the cost necessarily as just how much off putting that stuff is.
