I’ve been practicing with Dora for six years now, and her classes have quite literally changed the trajectory of my life for the better. What she teaches is real yoga—not the fast-paced fitness fads, but the true, holistic tradition that honors the deep connection between mind, body, and spirit.

Her mindfulness series, which I’ve taken every year, has been transformative. Each time, it reveals something new about how to live with more presence, compassion, and clarity. Dora is incredibly well-read, spiritually grounded, and committed to walking the path she teaches. She brings wisdom from philosophy, nutrition, lifestyle, and yogic texts into her classes in a way that feels practical and genuinely life-enhancing.

She also creates a community. From thoughtfully curated book clubs to meaningful discussions after class, you feel cared for as a whole person not just a student passing through. I’ve tried many other studios locally over the years, and this is the only one I’ve stayed with. The consistency, integrity, and authenticity here are unmatched.

Dora has helped me understand not just yoga, but how to live healthier in every dimension from mindful habits to nutrition to daily rituals that support well-being.

If you’re looking for a place that offers depth, real practice, and genuine transformation, this is it. In deep gratitude for all these years of growth.

Support your local studio- this one is a gem!

Hands down the best yoga studio on the Eastside! The instructors are truly advanced and inspiring, the space is always clean and beautiful, and the overall energy is beauty and peace. I’ve been to many studios over the years, and this one tops them all! In deep gratitude

This is a fantastic, cozy, woman-owned yoga studio in Issaquah that I've been going to for about a year. Dora, the owner and a frequent instructor, is relentlessly cheerful and constantly amazes me with her expertise in weaving together unique, intense, and creative classes that offer challenge and inner respite for a range of student abilities and energy levels. I love that it's warm, but not too hot: usually high 70s to low 80s. There's rarely overcrowding, so there's space to stretch out. The studio is very clean, there are plenty of available props, and there's even 2 bathrooms and a shower. The studio offers online (recorded and livestream) classes as well as occasional workshops, retreats, and mindfulness / yoga teacher trainings too. There's always parking right in front, and Dora has also allowed me to bring my bike into the lobby for safekeeping during class.

Spira is one of the best studios I’ve ever been to—it’s clean, friendly, and welcoming. Dora is an amazing teacher and yogini, and I love how she perfectly combines physical rigor with the spiritual & mental sides of yoga. Truly, it’s an art.

I've been doing yoga at Spira for several years now and can't imagine going anywhere else. Dora's yoga classes are physically challenging for the experienced yogi, but not unapproachable for those new to the practice. She has an incredible depth of knowledge, so you know you're learning proper technique. She's also darn funny, reminding us that joy and humor are important parts of every life endeavor. This is NOT just an exercise class, Dora is building something special here in Issaquah. Support small local business owners and gain a community!

Great slow-flow Sunday PM class with Alyssa. I’ve been looking for a slower, more mindful practice that still gives me great movement, and Alyssa’s Yin/Yang class on Sunday PM at 5:30 was fantastic! If you’re looking for a slow vinyasa and yin poses, a dose of wisdom, and a welcoming environment at all levels, check this one out. I live in Ballard but I’ll be coming back!

If you are looking for a yoga studio, this is a great choice whether you are new to yoga or an experienced practitioner. I have been practicing yoga for over a decade; have been to multiple studios across Seattle, the Eastside, and the country; been in yoga teacher trainings; etc. and I can honestly say that Spira is one of the best in the area. All of the teachers are great and the owner is a very knowledgeable practitioner with a heart of gold and beautiful values.

At Spira Yoga, I get my daily dose of mindfulness along with a range of yoga classes, from challenging power yoga to soft flows and guided meditations. The variety of classes and workshops really hits the spot for all of life's daily ups and downs.

I love the studio because their classes make me feel strong in both mind and body. And as an avid jiujitsu practitioner, I can say that yoga really compliments the sport. So thankful for Spira Yoga!

Horrible experience. The owner is a self proclaimed guru that has modified the true yoga essence to fit the commercial standards. Her husband, teaches some of the classes, what a nightmare, he has no idea what he is doing. There is barely any space to do some of the moves because they allow so many people in a very small space. If you are looking for real yoga there are many places in the west Seattle area much better than this one.

Beautiful space and great teachers. The classes are truly all levels and kept between 85-90 degrees to avoid over-stretching and injury. Challenging for sure and you'll still sweat, yet it's mindful and breath-based. The focus is on the sensations of the body and breath and not a perfect posture. Excited that Issaquah can now benefit from these teachers and methodology :)

I have been practicing yoga regularly for about 10 years and have been going to Spira for two to three years. The classes offered are the perfect combination of a vigorous workout with plenty of healthy stretching. All the instructors are incredibly skilled and knowledgeable and offer plenty of modifications for different practice levels. The heat is just right too - the studio is usually heated to about 89 degrees, so hot enough to get nice and limber and work up a great sweat without being too hot like bikram. Overall, a yoga experience you'll love for sure!!!

I have been doing yoga at Spira for almost a year and I really love my experience. I recommend going to the Intro series first. I went through it twice until I can do the poses correctly. The all levels classes are challenging and I often have to rest in child's pose in the middle of the sequences, but I always leave feeling refreshed, relaxed and a bit stronger. The teachers here are very nice, and they let you borrow mats, towels, even hair ties if you forget.

The classes are varied enough that you never have a repeat class. The instructors fit the yoga life and they do speak and respect all levels. Highly suggest for a drop in or a membership, if you live locally.

Waaaaaaaaay back in the day I attended a school to become a yoga teacher. Long story short, I discovered I’m happiest being a practitioner. However I learned what makes a great yoga teacher: it’s not about memorizing the names of asanas in Sanskrit (although it’s certainly cool), it’s knowing about the physical body and how it works. I’m always reluctant to take up practice in a yoga studio when the teachers clearly don’t possess any formal training on physiology--there is nothing scarier than putting your body in harm's way because a teacher is too busy waxing poetic on some hippie-speak about yoga. Dora and Regan are great teachers. They don’t just know the yoga asanas, they know what it means to connect them to the physical body and how postures affect specific muscles, tendons, and joints in the body. More importantly, they both know how to be in a posture without taking yourself too seriously. They don’t expect every student to be the next Sivananda, they're just grateful to lead you through what will be a great way to expand your body and connect with your spirit.

A beautiful studio ; kind, helpful, and knowledgeable staff, and a nice community of friendly folks to practice with. The intro class on monday night's is great for anyone just starting out and interested in learning more about yoga, or people looking to get back into their practice after some time away. The mix level classes are challenging but grounded in yoga philosphy, so you are encouraged to practice your practice, and honor your body where you are TODAY. The room is heated, but not crazy hot, and there are private changing areas and a shower on site. So glad I found Spira :)
