Been going to Thrive for the past 2.5 years. I’m so thankful Oak Harbor has a gym that has Childcare! It feels so nice to be able to get in a good workout and sauna with my kiddo in safe hands. Shout out to Richelle, Bailey, Alexus and DJ that have all been amazing with my son!

I want to say that I enjoy working out at this gym. People are friendly, always get a good work out. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the men’s room. Particularly the toilets, urinals and sinks. Hate to say anything because I don’t want to seem rude with that comment of the facility or its staff.

Updated 7/16/2025
The mens room cleanliness has improved significantly and the gentleman that they have keeping things clean is doing a damn fine job. Much appreciated.

I’ve been coming to Thrive for over ten years and it feels like a second home. It’s affordable and has a wide variety of equipment and plenty of space. Definitely recommend it

Decent gym. Recent expansion and new equipment is a definite improvement. Classes are all virtual (lame), and you have to pay $50 every time you want to get an InBody scan (my friend’s gym does this for free for members). Needs a water bottle filling station. Equipment usually functions and it doesn’t usually feel crowded. It’s clean and the 24-hour access is great. The sauna and water massage bed are nice perks.

Thrive in Anacortes is the perfect gym for me! The equipment is always well-maintained, the facilities are spotless, and the staff is super friendly and welcoming. It’s a great place for someone like me who just wants to get in, have a solid workout, and head home. I highly recommend Thrive to anyone looking for a clean, efficient, and inviting space to work out.

It may be a little small for the price of membership but the fact that it is open 24 hours is worth it at least for me. I can go whenever I want before or after work and since I live in Anacortes and it is close to my house I love it.

Zuley is incredibly kind and always ready to help! Took the exercise class with Anya and she went the extra mile to keep us motivated and in the correct form. She offered many accommodations. Everyone made us feel welcomed.

Honestly we really enjoy going to this gym, it’s close to home, had the equipment we need, convenient having 24hrs, my only complaint is it is ALWAYS dirty, people leave rags, spray bottles, wet wipes, weights, bars, and everything in between ALL over the gym. I don’t know what happened to gym etiquette and picking up after yourself or reracking your own weights but every night we go the floors are covered.

Great local Thrive gym tucked in to the back streets of Q Ave (I know its on R Ave but Q Ave is the Main Road to get there.)

This gym is clean, modern and relaxing. The staff is awesome but most of the time I go there when there is limited or no staff. The TV works so thats great but when I am watching on my phablet phone that works well since most of the time the recumbent bikes are not being used so its a great place to burn a few calories here and there. The locker room is decent and clean, the sauna is quite strict, you cant have your phone inside lol. PLENTYful of parking outside, the entrance is finicky, you have to come in from only one-side as far as I know, the one on the safeway side. Also this place is safe, secure and lit. Love it.

Great staff attitude, but the men’s change room is absolutely disgusting, mentioned it to the management a few months ago and they said they didnt have enough staff to keep it clean.

Went there today and the change rooms, toilets, urinals, sauna, and showers are disgusting and getting worse.

Not sure why the management can’t hire a night cleaner to deep clean the facilities.

Hopefully they just hire a cleaning contractor.

Worst gym I have ever been to. The store manager has no business being a manager. When a customer has concerns and the manager calls to de-escalate the situation and in fact escalated the situation you know you have a problem. Terrible price for terrible equipment. Here in Anacortes this gym has people by the balls though since there is no other gym here in town. Owners of this gym have 22 other gyms and this one is doing the worst…. Hmmm I don’t wonder why.

My wife and I are in prep for a physique competition so needed a gym while traveling. The staff at Thrive were responsive and helpful. The downside was the minimal hours available for guests and no Saturday availability. The equipment was old and well used and lacking in many areas. We were still able to get our workouts in, but just not ideal. We also noticed at the end that there is a dress code that my wife didn't follow 😬! Shorts to the fingertips in length and sports bras have to be covered, no cleavage showing and no stomach showing... A bit extreme, but nobody said anything to her for the two days we were there - just several old dudes that kept staring her down. So, not the best of gyms for a bodybuilding type workout, but still glad to get something in.

As a community fitness facility, it has everything to offer just about anyone who is looking to maintain, develop, recover and grow in a healthy way. I can't reduce the rating to accommodate the people who are looking for a strength training and bodybuilding gym. It's literally not that kind of work space but, it's great if you are that person who is passing through and need to keep up with your routine while traveling.

The equipment is a great brand from Precor, in most cases there's complete sets and diverse machines that are easy to share. Plenty of sanitary supplies for self maintenance as well. With the overall facility being a bit dated, you can tell what the main focus of the gym is. Cardio, endurance, fitness training.

Good gym for the area. Has what you need. Weight racks, free weights, machines, classes, spin room, tanning booth, sauna, they pack a lot in a little space.

I have had 24 hour access for years, and it is a god send for those of us working out very early in the morning.

As for fellow patrons, generally respectful, clean, and easy going. Don't have to worry about being judged or leered at, or about working in to other people's sets. About the only thing that will get you some side eye.....is if you don't wipe down your equipment after using it. (Ps they provide towels and spray for this)

Just canceled my membership because staff are blatantly not masking despite state mandate. I checked with the WA State Dept of Health, and people in the act of exercising like athletes in practice or competition are exempt, so members can get by without wearing one while using equipment, but should otherwise be masked. And all working staff should be masked. At least they canceled my membership easily by email, and confirmed no other fees.

Clean gym with sufficient equipment, friendly staff but poor customer service.

My wife and I were gym members for over three years. We recently moved from the area and subsequently closed our accounts.

Upon closing my account, I realized I had been billed while my account was supposed to be "frozen." It took over 2 weeks with multiple correspondences to have it refunded. I also noticed that I was charged an annual maintenance fee only 2 days before I closed my account. In fairness, I requested to have the fee refunded because but the request was denied. Being charged an annual fee - one without any notice - for a membership length of two days is absurd.

This gym has always seemed to be very "revenue focused" but needless to say when I return to the area they will not be seeing us as customers again.

Fun, friendly staff... super clean... amazing amenities. 24 hour access, free weights, functional space, weight machines, group fitness, spin studio, tons of cardio options, saunas, massage, kids room, tanning bed and the Eat The Frog Fitness training is next level. Similar fitness centers in other areas would charge twice as much for memberships. Oh and memberships are month to month... no long term contracts! It's Rad!

I want to say a huge thank you to Justin for his response and solution
to our membership refund. We had gone around in circles with the
previous owners and management with no positive outcome.
Justin came in and said " It makes common sense to refund this
customers unused membership and make them a happy customer"
He did what he promised, a true stand up guy!
We need more Justin's in this world. Thank you!

I've been going to Thrive for years and have never had any issues. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, and there is a great variety of equipment. The only complaint I've had is that it does get very busy during peak hours, but what can you expect when it has become the only gym in town?! They do a great job of keeping it clean, and if you're able to go after hours the crowd is a lot smaller.

Thrive is a place that I have to be accountable for becoming more than anything I have been in my time yet as I do i am finding it a blessing to get the privladge to be able to get something to create the goals within myself aswell as the person that I am not familiar with that im starting to see and appreciate the way it really is throughout this gym the staff is very aware of the different types of people who are here for safe and healthy lifestyle choices that are part of who we are mk no differences in the way you can be sure that it is going to be a positive influence and I'm not goin anywhere without feeling better than I have prior to the gym and I have enjoyed everything from free weights to Treds and machines that have no issues with my using and with great condition and outcome but there is one REAL problem with the gym ... I have a hard time finding a better place to be !!!

The gym was previously open until 10pm on week nights and later on the weekends. When the 24 hour membership was introduced this changed to the hours as they are now. The gym it's self is good. The free weight section in whole is limited, but sufficient. Gym membership is fairly priced.

Gets the job done. The staff is decent and reasonable. Its just so packed from Monday To Friday 3pm to 7pm, especially when you hit the weights. Overcrowded gyms where you have to wait for equipment is understandable but not optimal. Its cheap 20$-50$ a month is decent. Just expect a little surprise fee every once in a while, aka, maintenance fee. 3/5

Joined about 2yrs ago. Reasonable price. Good equipment. I have never been unable to have a treadmill or bike available for a aerobic workout. Staff are all very pleasant. Some members are a little negligent in wiping down the equipment no matter what the cleaner is and maybe a few posters reminding everyone to do this might help as there are always lots of cleanser bottles around. I do wonder about the strength of the cleanser as it seems to have no smell at all at times, leading me to believe it might be diluted too much. The body flow class is great but on some days there are so many members in attendance that you are constantly bumping in to each other. I do not mind the bring your own towel policy as I imagine quite a few people took them home and the cost to maintain and clean these is probably pretty high. I much rather prefer to bring a soft washcloth from home with me.

They no longer honor Silver Sneakers!! Why?? I stopped in to ask.Silver Sneakers is a benefit of my health insurance so it does not cost me anything extra. Thrive wants $19.95 (special offer to Silver Sneakers people they cut off). They say Silver Sneakers only pays us $6 per month. They will get $0 from me now. If the gym was full of customers, I could understand but it is not.

I've had a membership with Thrive in Anacortes since 2012 and I was extremely satisfied with the membership until the gym went under new management around a year and a half ago. The cleaner for the machines was changed from a clean smelling spray to vinegar, which smells badly and I notice less people are inclined to use it because of that. The hours that the gym is open have decreased drastically, but there's a 24 hour access option that's more expensive. They also no longer offer laundered towels that you can take before you work out and then put in the laundry basket after you've used it for your work out. Overall, the equipment is sufficient, but the free weight section could be more varied ideally.

Thrive in Anacortes is definitely my favorite gym ever. Its clean, very well-equipped and well-designed. Even when there are a lot of cars in the parking lot I've always been able to use the machines I like. without waiting. The staff are all really nice, knowledgeable & helpful, They offer a lot of classes with excellent instructors. I've consistently noticed that other patrons are focused yet considerate. The prices are reasonable - particularly their specials - and hours are long to accommodate a variety of schedules. I rarely write a review but feel compelled to compliment and recommend Thrive gym.

I started coming to Thrive in November 2014. I really liked how reasonable the membership was and the fact that I could attend classes at the gym for an extra ten dollars seemed like a great deal! I love how enthusiastic the instructors are and that they have such a variety of classes that I can go to. Every time I walked in the door someone would smile and check me in, it made me feel like I was a part of some sort of family. Because of my positive experience as a member, I decided to see if they were hiring part time. I am glad to be starting as a part of their team now.
